After I got the fantastic idea to buy an abandoned 2005 Ram SRT10 truck and rip the 8.3l Dodge Viper engine out of it, I quickly realized we had a LOT of work to do to get our Demon engine up and running!
Don't worry, I've got a list (on the roof of the truck) so let's get started bringing the world's first Dodge Demon powered truck to life!

Would PDSDebt help me buy that gray Hellcat off you Sir..
And probably already know this, but that rescue palm might be rusty but as long as you can take it apart, you can fix it
Nooooooo it's going to be a PINTO..... NOOOOOOO 😢
crazy timing this is actually clutch
Cleetus did a giveaway for the Viper truck but his was a 6 speed I was going to say that would be cool with the demon engine but it's also nice not to have to shift in traffic areas.
Best build on yt rn
he shoulda kept the v10
@@JrlCars nah

@joshlurant is doing a hellcat engine in a amg gtr
Agreed
Dude... you REALLY need to position your lift arms onto the frame of the truck. That is wild that youre lifting it by the cab
For real.
I can't stop thinking about the creaking sound the truck made when they first lifted it by the cab. At least his welder friend lifted it by the frame
Your build ideas a genuinely so random and I love it
As a grumpy father in his mid 30's who grew up watching the powerblock on TV as a kid. This is one of the few car channels I watch these days. Your practical approach, and lack of desire to make it asceticly perfect keep me coming back for more. Hell I hate dodge with a passion, but even I must admit how well these past few builds have turned out. Keep on keeping it real fellas, much respect!
LEE GET THE LIFT OFF THE PINCH WELDS! On a unibody that’s perfect but on a full frame vehicle put it on the frame! I love your content and don’t want to see you get hurt! Putting the lift on the cab instead of frame puts the weight of the whole vehicle on the six to eight cab bolts!
Has me so nervous watching.
I know right! I had to stop watching the first vid because of that. I have a feeling this is on purpose, i have only watched this series and i have the feeling this channel is a cringe channel. There is no way he cant see the body bending as it is very clear on camera and why else would he take a rare version of an extremely common truck and replace the v10 when he could have spent a lot less time and money building the v10 to make more power than the hellcat or bought a base truck and built it with the hellcat and then buy the body parts.
@@patrickrutherford3480 he actually put a demon motor in it
@@patrickrutherford3480 UA-cam car guys don't always do what's cheapest or what's common sense... They push boundaries and do crazy stuff for our entertainment and engagement... They do the crazy things "us normal guys" couldn't afford or couldn't do...
90% of me is watching just to see if the frame drops out of the truck Southern 10% wants to hear this truck start
You can very easily shim that sway bar down .250 or .375 with a piece of steel and some longer bolts and it won't effect a darn thing other than adding some clearance.
Exactly what I was going to say
Why didn't I think of that
I immediately thought of that, 0.250 is all he really needs
The oil filter clearance would keep me up at night. Could make a set of swaybar spacers/shims with some scrap metal.
The engine moves so that oil filter is going to hit. Just make some 3/4 sway bar drop brackets itl take 10min
Yes, also, the sway bar can and will “bow” under hard cornering and will almost definitely hit the filter. Even 1/4” plates between the sway bar mounts and the frame will be enough.
Same problem on all 5th gens when changing oil
I honestly can’t believe the pitch welds are holding the weight of that truck right now 😂
😂😂
Me neither
For real! That would just sketch me out being underneath it like that.
Straight up 😂
I have been thinking that since he started the project guys doest even have the lift of the frame he has it on the cab so the bolts of the cab are holding all the weights crazy . I guess someone told him later in the Video he has it one the frame
If he keeps lifting it from the pinch welds like that he'll be seeing angels before he sees this demon finished.
Dude is hard headed af
😭😭
@@LocoF111 more like air headed
dude paid 12k for a special edition truck just to destroy it. could of got a lower trim truck for from that era for less then half that. dude deff aint the brightest bulb in the pack.
@@maxaddicks1743 yup he just fucked up a very rare and restorable Viper Ram
We are going to have a perfect dou with the demon and this truck. 👏🏻
Rebuilding a Demon, then buying a SRT truck to turn in into a Demon truck while throwing the SRT engine into the Nissan. Good time to be part of this channel.
Question: Why didn't you reuse the factory fuel tank and just replace the fuel pumps for the Demon ones? I think it would have saved you some time in fabrication and not having to buy and install a different fuel tank that could be prone to punctures in the event of a rear end collision
I came here to stay the same thing! Not to mention he would have picked up an additional 10 gallons of fuel.
Either 1, pumps wouldn’t fit would have to cut up an old fuel tank.. not ideal, or 2 he’s planing on weight reducing and isn’t wanting a 33 gallon tank
Josh is a talented fabricator 💯
"we're gonna have to get a little creative" DUDE youre like the picasso of rebuilding new cars. your middle name is creative.
he really is. the amount of "ooooh no shit" and "damn thats slick" that i say outloud while watching goes up every new episode. my father and I are huge fans for life.
No. He ruined the truck. He should've kept the v10, rebuilt it, added turbos or a supercharger, and put MORE power into it. All he did was remove a iconic engine from that truck.
I really enjoyed this video, seeing how much room was made removing all that old stuff and adding all the new stuff was awesome. The exhaust work is priceless and the fuel one aswell. Well done!
Those wheels and the 2000-2003 f150 HD wheels have to be the best looking wheels ever put on a stock truck. Those RT wheels are just awesome
and the 03-07 chevy silverado SS 5 spokes
One of the best paced, most informative build videos I have ever seen on UA-cam. And I have seen a lot. Never saying more words than needed but explaining everything.
All these youtubers out here.Buying new trucks to put wheels and a lift on.
I'll take any old truck over a new one anyday of the week
An srt10 is not an “old” truck. It’s definitely not new but it’s not old
@@richardferguson3965 bro last model of the srt-10 was almost 20 years ago.. wtf?
Could use some 1/8 inch plate to space that sway bar down a hair if your worried about the filter
A good video to show how you can install an engine and appropriate systems where they weren't intended to be installed. It is looking good. I'm waiting for part 3 already! This is a cool series.
This is awesome! Love seeing the outside-the-box thinking on the fuel pump and fuel cell mounting. Especially curious about how you managed to squeeze them in there while keeping everything accessible. Can't wait to see how you tackle the mammoth coolers in the front!
I love how you're making everything look like factory. But I especially love how you hooked up the gas filler, that right there is flipping awesome. But to bad you couldn't put the running lights back in the from bumper and put a piece of metal under the coolers to guide the air up across the coolers. KICK ASS BUILD, keep up the fantastic work and God Bless you guys and your families. ✌️😊👍P.S. I would love to buy that gray Hellcat off you.
Lifting a body on frame truck by the body instead of the frame won't be an issue until it is.
Good luck!
I’m going crazy over this build. I have the same truck, but I couldn’t afford to do what you’re doing, but it is awesome watching you make history with my favorite truck ever made. Good luck and God bless.
I can’t wait till you guys get it going !!! Love this one
Am so excited for pt3
CANT FREAKING WAIT FOR THE FINISHED BUILD!
22:48. Put a spacer under the sway bar mounts and use longer bolts to mount it to the frame. From the looks of it, I'd use at least 1/4", but 1/2" or more would be better. The sway bar's rubber bushings will flex. You could get some poly bushings to minimize flex. With the torque produced by the engine, the motor mounts will also deflect. They will certainly contact, possibly ripping off the filter mount or puncturing the filter. There are 3 very small bolts securing the filter adapter to the block. Do you want to bet your whole build on the parts not contacting? It's too easy to remedy.
Really loving this build, awesome!!
The exhaust metal fab is amazing!
Excited for part 3!!! Let’s go!!
Man i hate to say it but you guys are just cruising thru this build flawlessly..love the build and cant wait to see the end result..
Nice build. I love the concept ❤
Can’t wait to see the finished product!!!!!!!
So hooked on this build. Great job
Can't wait to here it start
Cannot wait for this build to be finished!
Can you make a video for the full demon build now that it is done
I can’t wait for the interior man, I love motor work n stuff but man seeing how that new interior is gonna look is what I watch for
So much fun watching the team get to work. Keep it up. The 2 Demons are going to be the envy for anyone who has an imagination.
genuinely loving this series bru can't wait for me 🙏🏼
Love this guy, doing an amazing job and making so much progress so quickly.
Can’t wait to see it running
Let's keep the build going 💪🏾
Loving the content brother!!
Need part 3 RN!!
This build is great cabt wait to hear it fire up
That exhaust is beautiful
Love this build!!!
Dude, I’m learning so much on how to swap an engine, thank you!
Im picky. And a purist. However, this is absolutely the best build ever.
He took the V10 out, and is literally tripling the venom.
There will be an obvious sound upgrade. Handling and breaking upgrades too.
I would have gone with a built 8HP70. Other than that, it's just amazing how many levels above other makes these Mopars are.
There's levels to everything.
Ummm the supercharged coyotes are putting down like 800+ hp in a lighter 4wd f150
@@danerasmussen6468yeah and they're still boring lol
This is the baddest exhaust on a truck i have ever seen! Speechless!
Nice job, looking forward to the nexrt instalment 👍
I have been waiting for this build.
Nice build. Can't wait to see more.
So much room for activities!!!
I’m so invested in seeing this build through 🙏🏽🙏🏽
The oil filter clearance would keep me up at night!
Awesome build so far!!
Put twin turbos with that space!
I’m so hype to see this I love that it’s a 3rd gen to
This is awesome, never seen your channel before this build but got me hooked! Cant wait to see this thing drive on modern power, In my opinion best looking truck along with the (ford lighting) of the 2000s
Dude haven't been this interested in a video in for ever .. great video great build. Cant wait for next episode 😊
Personally I wish u would have left the V10 in this truck and got the same truck but with the V8 5.7 in it but the progress is going very good, good job
I’m guessing he wants to hear the wine noise..I don’t blame em
dont understand why dude wanted to tear apart a special edition truck. should of just got a base model or lower trim model and did it wpuld of saved the 12k he spent in this. stupid if u ask me but then again guy is lift the truck from the pinch welds and not the frame 😂 so im not suprised
@@maxaddicks1743 exactly you get what I'm sayin
@@maxaddicks1743your whining is much more annoying than the demon he’s throwin in there. He swapped the viper v10 into a 240sx. There’s still a decent amount of SRT-10’s around, It’s not that big of a deal. stop crying all over the comment section
Can’t wait to hear it run
Finally was waiting for this 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Cool project hope i see it riding around town
I love it, can't wait till I build my own project car and this teaches me so much
Your builds are awesome! Love the channel
so much progress in 1 video. really nice.
It’s been 4 hours since this video has been posted and it’s already got 25k views. Anyone else wanna build a str10 demon truck ? 😀
Great video, awesome build keep it up
Can’t wait for part 3
Badass build bro 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Loving the build. Are you able to space the sway bar down at the mounts? I did this on a project to make clearance at the diff input flange, might be a good option to clear the oil filter.
This is awesome!
Wow I’m glad I found this (march 30th 2024) cause you built really good and so much stuffs I’ve ever seen! Please drop part 3 whenever u can I want to see you keep going 😮
I have Been wait ting for this, this is the type of content I want to see. Subscribed
For the sway bar, make a 1/4 inch or so rectangle spacer with holes for the bolt holes. That will help if sway bar bushings collapse lil bit, in which they will squishlil already when set on ground and might be touching oil filter..
Challenger intake lights as the fogs light would look cool
Awesome build!
Hey Lee, Quick tip on how to straighten Radiators, Heat Exchangers etc. cut some decking boards or similar wood, put on both sides and use C-Clamps. They will go right back to perfectly straight and no fins will be damaged… 👍
I worked for a major lift company for several years in tech support. We would get a call every now and then that a lift dropped a vehicle and killed a tech and they tried to blame the lift itself. After some investigation we found that it was user error, like this video. You’re using round adapters on the body. You should be using frame engaging adapters on the frame. Those round adapter on the frame can easily slip as well. Don’t be one of those phone calls dude
best exhaust options out there vibrant is just different from every other exhaust out there the exhaust note is refined rasp and drone gone
Not only are these videos fun to watch, they are educational as well. Appreciate you guys!!! Keep up the good work! 🫡
That oil filter is too close, the motors going to move around in there lol definitely the best build yet tho this is fire!
Dude in the hat is a valuable team member ( Josh ); seems like he gets it _done._ Nice job on the exhaust.
i’m glad this channel exists
I never seen a truck get lifted off the pinch welds on a truck 😮
You sir have the most Faith I've ever seen someone have lifting a truck by the pinch welds I get that it's rust free but so are new trucks you're a maniac
Good build ❤
I love these videos, bud! Keep them coming!
Love the videos bro keep up the work
On the sway bar, you could do some simple spacers to drop the mounting brackets down some to give more filter clearance. The engine moving may cause it to contact
This build is incredible
thanks for the these cool videos man helps me decompress and the end of my day,
Basic? This is the first time watching one of your full length vids. I thought the titles were clickbait XD. Keep up the amazing work, always love to learn more about cars and mechanical work. You and your team are killing it!
Been checking everyday for part 2!!!..
