Hope you enjoyed my Best .44 Magnum Revolvers 2024 Video.

The new Colt Kodiak revolver looks interesting to me. If it uses the same length cylinder of the fluted cylinder on the 2020 Anaconda and is ported from the factory it should be a great one.
Die hard fan of the S&W 29/629 :)
Same for me and with the 8 1/3 inch barrel I love that precision!
Which .44 Magnum would you pick from the list? Personally, I'm torn between the classic Smith & Wesson Model 29 and the modern Taurus Raging Hunter. 🤔
Leaning towards the Colt, really wish it came in blue steel.
It does but it's the Python in .357. 4.25 inch and 6 inch. ❤
I have two 44 magnums Smith & Wesson 629's 3 inch and 6.5 inch. Both are great revolvers one for EDC the other for hunting and hiking, camping. I like the video also.
Yes my vintage 1990 Classic DX 629-3 stainless 8 3/8 in. barrel all the way !!
I own a Ruger Redhawk, Super Redhawk, and a Super Blackhawk. Additionally, I have a S&W 629 classic Hunter and a Gen 1 Model 29. none of them are stock, all have had spring replacements, tuning and trigger jobs at a minimum. Nothing beats the older pre-lock Smith trigger. That said the Rugers are across the board far more durable. I have hunted with all of them and unless I am loading hot the original 29 is the most pleasant to shoot. All of them are fine guns and treasured.
Nothing compares to the Smith&Wesson 29-2 ( Dirty Harry) with a recessed cylinder, target hammer, target grips these models took Smith&Wesson to new heights you can own a bit of history for less than $1000 in most cases and shoot ability is unmatched to the new Classic 44 magnums as a well known gentleman says " Get Some " !
Yep, nothing like a high polished blue on a m29 from the ‘60’s and ‘70’s.
I have a nickel plated 6.5 inch I bought many years ago.
Excellent video, unlike many, it actually shows the gun tbat's being discussed!. My fav is the S&W model 629 (stainless version), 6" barrel. I may have more than one model 29.
It should be noted that there are 11 different versions, each with noticeable changes, of S&W's magnigicent model 29, from the original to the current 29-10, the latter being called "dash 10".
To make the video even better, it should mention S&W's other 2 .44 mags, the 69 and the 329. The N-frame model 29 is just too big and heavy (44 oz) to carry for a long time. The 5-shot model 69 is on the L-frame, much lighter at 35 oz and smaller, enough so that all-day carry isn't a problem. With the 2 1/2" barrel, it's truly a snub-nose. Then there's the super light 329 N-frame, a scant 26 oz. Being so light, all-day carry is no problem. No, it doesn't hurt with magnum loads, just hang on and go for the ride.
Redhawk, Anaconda, Model 629/29 in that order
The shroud over the ported barrel on the Taurus Raging Hunter is anodized aluminum. To lighten the balance out front due to the lighter aluminum material the shroud is machined from.
I have an S&W 629 classic 5 inch in 44 magnum. It is, imo the best, most accurate pistol i own.
I have one also and I agree with you.
Excelente video..!!
ha ha... Mr Computer Voice said: "Target..... Crowned Barrel" and "Bee-spoke" (instead bespoke). Bring back the real humans to speak because the computers are NOT ready for prime time !
I love Piettas, but i don't know how they could last very long running .44 mags through them. I wouldn't trust it UNLESS it had a larger frame than their regular 1873 style revolvers.
bonjour magnifique vidéo sur les marques de révolvers en calibre 44 magnum ils sont tous superbe mais j'ai un coup de coeur pour le colt anaconda merci de se cette vidéo et de se partage cordialement
Have Blackhawk Bisley and Dirty Harry! Classic iron to have!
😎🤘🇺🇸. GO AHEAD!!!! MAKE MY, DAY! 🇺🇸🤘😎. 🤣🤣. Dirty Harry moves, always come to my mind every time i see or hear .44 magnum. Another bucket list gun. Happy Saturday, to everyone there
I have the model 29 in a 8 3/2 barrel great gun luv them
8 and 3/8 barrel!
@@user-sf3tq7cz5t that’s what I mean lol omg
I'm old school S&W 29
Never mentioned about the BS "practice with .44 spl, carry .44 mag". It doesn't work!. Mixing specials and mags so I don't know what's coming up, my S&W 629 6" shoots the .44 spl 3" HIGHER at 10 yds. So at 20 yds, you can't hit what you're aiming at. Oops. My best guess at the difference is time-in-barrel
My suggestion to anyone who is thinking 'survival' and 'accuracy' will need to check the chambers on Rugers... they tend to be tight (worn out tooling) Colts tend to be right on the money. The Pieta ... notice it uses a patridge (partridge is a bird) front sight.. sorta.... like cheating. Survival means also that you might not want the gun to break say 5 years down the road... I would avoid the Taurus. My Dan Wesson and the Anaconda are both about the same size (huge) and both highly accurate and smoooooth. I have the 629 and it is a very nice revolver (no one will take it for a Taurus.. Mine is very accurate but something to know is that both the DW and the Colts and the Korth all turn clockwise from the rear... this locks the crane in even tighter. Smiths and copies turn the wrong way for lockup. This is easier on the hand and maybe a touch easier to tune but not as tight a lockup. First thing I noticed about the Taurus way back when was they copied the ejector rod and it would screw out and lock up the gun.... just like early Smiths... And of course they turned the wrong way just like the Smiths they copied. The Dan Wesson barrel is tensioned from both ends and they BC gap is 'adjustable' Something even the Korth does not do. Obviously the DW has some slight accuracy advantage in that respect. Also I shoot cast and coated bullets almost 100% and the Korth rifling is not the best for that.
You forgot the new Colt Kodiak
6" 629
Most of the images for the s&w model 29 were not of the current classic model! The images were mostly of the vintage 29 that had the pinned barrel recessed chambers on the cylinder and probably the grooved backstrap . The new smiths have mim parts, frame mounted firing pin and the stupid hammer lock. No where the quality of the older Smiths.
I agree!... I was just saying that same thing in a comment.... No "Hillary Holes"!!.....
I don't really like any of them, what we really need is more compact 5 shot 44's come on ruger, smith have the mod 69 your gp100 44 special was gorgeous how about a compact 44 mag
What revolver is on the thumbnail?
@@The_Fat_Controller. Thanks
The new 2021 Anaconda (and now 2024 Kodiak) is far superior over the S&W Model 29. As everyone knows, you can shoot Buffalo Bore Heavy 44 Magnum + P + all day long in a Colt or a Ruger, but you will destroy a S&W Model 29. Hopefully, since Colt brought back the blued Python, they will do a blued Anaconda / Kodiak in 2025 or 2026.
Wrong! Your first Ruger revolver you called a Super Blackhawk Bisley description is not a Super Redhawk with a barrel rib or integral scope mounts. You even called it a Super Redhawk as well as a Super Blackhawk. You also left out the classic Freedom Arma single action. It's the finest, smoothest and most accurate 44 magnum revolver I've ever seen. Long range Metallic Silhouette competitors will use little else in Revolver Class.
I have a S&W Model 29 (AKA Dirty Harry's gun), and a Ruger Super Redhawk. I like the Ruger better..... sorry Clint
How comes younz were showing them New Model 29 Smith's WITHOUT The "Hillary Hole" on the side?... That ugly "Safety Lock" that sometimes decides to do it's own thing under heavy recoil and jam your gun up!... And of course this never happens when you have the Keys for it with you!... They usually only do it when you're far away from home or wherever the keys are!... Guys I know that were dumb enough to buy those have since bought the little Kit they make with the Plug, and went ahead and removed the damned thing.....
