They held the spirit of good music (sometimes very loud music) over a long period of time. I know people who try to go there every year. I don't know it it's sth. for me (gladly there's life streaming), but the proximity of ca. 70 km (45 miles) is a reason to think about it every time...

They were originally scheduled a couple hours later in the day, but they were rescheduled to start earlier with only 30 minutes notice. They had no time to do a sound check or set up their support systems. Just enough time to take a leak, get dressed, boom, you're on, go. If you look closely, this is the only time you will see them NOT wearing IEM's. They are playing with no click, no count-ins, no isolation, no backing tracks, just 5 ladies jamming on stage old school." That is amazing🤘
This information relates to the Bloodstock Open Air performance on August 10th, a week after this Wacken performance. Their PERFORMANCE at Bloodstock is excellent, the audio-mix & camera-work are what is lacking. The story of Haruna crying afterward is NOT related to these deficiencies, but that she was emotionally 'moved' by the size of the audience & their enthusiasm (their largest to that date). In interview Haruna stated Bloodstock to be her "favorite" for that reason.
Its another beast of a song. There is also amazing performance from Above The Black Sea, live at Daughters of a Dawn 2019, maybe even better. Asami wrote this, Miyako composed. Battle Against Damnation EP is a masterpiece for sure

makes me feel like a super proud dad or older brother every time i see this with very teary eyes and a huge grin no matter how many times i see this!!! our girls rocking the biggest metal festival in the world only 2 years in ...hell yeah!!!!!
The ladies made an extremely good impression at Wacken, with many fans feeding back that they were the best band on that day. They also made history by being the first all-female metal band from Japan to perform at Wacken Open Air. Out of the 3 songs related to World War II, "Above the Black Sea" is my personal fav. BTW, just be aware that the audio quality of the video clips on YT of Lovebites' performance at "Bloodstock" are not the best. Merry X'mas !
Their presentation at Wacken Open Air, Germany, 2018, was a total success for Lovebites and a dream come true for Miho. I have the related DVD (Crusaders standing at Wacken, 30 minutes long) that was included in the special edition of the CD “Electric pentagram”. Yes, they were phenomenal since the beginning.
Why are the comments full of references to Bloodstock? Different gig altogether. This was their scheduled performance time and was quite early in the day. Word has it that Asami peeked through the curtain expecting a handful of people…they had only played as LOVEBITES live for the first time 8 or 9 months before this. They won the Metal Hammer “Golden Gods” award for best new band on the strength of this performance, amongst other things. The song is about the Kamikaze and is one of three songs dealing with the uniquely Japanese horrors of WW2. I can’t quite put my finger on why but they have a certain depth or gravitas that most other LOVEBITES songs can’t emulate. Thank you for your continued support of this amazing band. You are doing your bit to help push them into the metal consciousness, however small that bit is. I for one appreciate it. LOVEBITES is a once in a genre band. The best. Ever.
I wish I had an answer for that one. I keep asking myself that throughout the day. Like why are people talking about the other video I put up on this one. I stopped responding to those comments. Because I started getting confused on what I was responding to. And asami is adorable like that I've noticed but still a powerhouse at the sane time.

When it comes to the Scorpions you won’t get an argument from me and as for Asami I agree with you 100% she is a stage general and if she called me to war I would not hesitate for her. As for the Bloodstock concert I agree with the others that the ladies were given the short end of the stick when it comes to what happened but regardless LOVEBITES still went on with the show (have to give them credit for that) and is still a reason why we love them. If only Suicidal Tendencies had not missed their gig at this festival LOVEBITES would have done their show on time but instead they stepped up and made the best of what was given them 🤘
Great, that you gave Doro the shoutout she deserves! Many may have forgotten it, but even as someone, who was not very much into Metal at that time, Doro Pesch was great back and since then. It was quite exciting what she did there in the 80s...
I think they were as good back then as they are now, as you're probably aware of they're an extremely special group of the most talented, creative, and beautiful ladies to all be in 1 band. I hope you get the chance to see them live, I can tell you 💯 they'll blow your mind. You can see how old this is because Miyako and Midori are on different sides of the stage . The day LOVEBITES shocked Wacken! It is said their tent filled out almost instantly, no matter the morning stage time, as there were a lot of people in the crowd who know a great band when they hear one... "Above the Black Sea" is still my personal Top-3 favorite from the Ladies in White. Everything, from Miyako's hair-raising intro, to the familiar-but-unique propeller-engine riff, to the chorus I will probably carry in my head into the afterlife: "Higher and higher, high above the heavens..." This is a tragic song, and one to make one stop and think, kind of like an abridged Japanese version of "Paeschendale" - and at the same time, one of the most rocking songs of the decade! If someone asks what represents Classic Heavy Metal today, here is the answer. Not surprised at all it brought out SCORPIONS in your mind! \m/
This one continues the WWII theme. This one about kamikazes. Asami singing reminds me so much of Bruce Dickinson at (9:30 -10:01). Helloween, a German band is Haruna's favorite. Let's hope the Metal Queens 👑 do a more extensive US tour in 2025 or 2026.
