What a great reaction. Band Made is the top band in Japan for hard rock, and LOVEBITES is the top band for heavy metal. They are also highly regarded worldwide. You can tell by looking at the number of views. They may both look unique, but every song they play is highly musical, and the technique and power are overwhelming, and I think it will be wonderfully moving. They resumed their world tour last year, and I'm sure LOVEBITES will become an icon of orthodox heavy metal.
During every show, Asami (the vocalist) Says, "We are Lovebites, and we play Heavy Metal". Lovebites is a new fresh band reinvigorating the classical style of heavy metal with elements of thrash, power, speed metal and some NWOBHM styles. The drummer Haruna is a buddy of Akane, the drummer of Band-Maid. She posted today on her Instagram a picture of herself with Akane and Midori, the blonde guitarist of Lovebites. They were out eating somewhere. The singer Asami comes from a Soul/R&B background. The dark-haired guitarist, Miyako, is a classical pianist. All their songs (except one) are in English though Asami can be hard to understand. The bassist here is Miho who founded the band with Haruna. They were together in the all-female metal band Destrose which broke up. The band name comes from the Halestorm song, "Love Bites (So Do I)". Asami has actually performed it with Halestorm at a couple of festivals. Yeah, they are Iron Maiden and Judas Priest fans. Asami and Haruna recently posted pictures of themselves with Rob Halford, Ian Hill and Scott Travis. They got to meet them before a Judas Priest concert in Tokyo. They had previously met at Bloodstock in Germany in 2018.
In August 2018, LOVEBITES was in Wacken W-O-A (Germany) on 4th and Bloodstock B-O-A (UK) on 10th. Judas Priest was also there, and they were in Japan just recently, as you mentioned... Rob Halford now has a collection of LOVEBITES albums, the debut album from 2017 in 2018, and now the 2021 Best-Of album in 2024...

Welcome to Lovebites! You're right. This is a walk in the park for them. They do this regularly, song after song, and they can go harder. Lovebites' ideals are bands like Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Helloween etc. and they revived their kind of music including great guitar solos and duets but in their own style. Miyako (the dark-haired guitarist - she also is a virtuoso piano player) composes most of their music, Asami (the singer) writes most of their lyrics. Lovebites carry the torch of heavy metal from the 80s and early 90s into the future. Five highly talented ladies, great music, great stage presence and connection to the audience - they have easily become one of my favourite metal bands (my personal No. 2, Nightwish is still my No. 1). And you are right: With this song they only scratch the surface of their abilities. Haruna the Drummer is A Nuke. She is so very precise at high bpm's it is mind boggling. Then if you listen into her cymbal work you may become incredibly floored at her abilities and dexterity. 4 foot 7 and she does this for near 3 hours straight in concert. Cheers!

Were you confused when you saw the stage costumes of BAND-MAID and LOVEBITES? In fact, there are so many bands in Japan, more than 100 of which are exclusively female, that they have a hard time getting people to remember their names. Therefore, they need to have a distinctive feature that other bands do not have, and the most obvious way to do this is through makeup and costumes. BAND-MAID used the uniforms of a “maid cafe,” a Japanese subculture where the band founder worked part-time. And LOVEBITES chose “white feminine costumes. Using the color “white,” which was considered inappropriate in the metal scene up to that point, ran the risk of isolating them from their surroundings, but they decided, “We don't care if we are treated like lone wolves, even if it means we are treated like lone wolves. We do what we want to do.” and dared to choose that costume and made the wolf the symbol of the band. And those bitten by the LOVEBITES began to call themselves the Wolf Pack.

You like constant assault of the drums you said. The Lovebites drummer Haruna does that for most of her near 2 hour sets. That's exactly the way the "Little Big Engine" Haruna loves to play.
Well, sir, you just watched greatness. These women are extremely talented, skillful and versatile proficient musicians. Their live performances are just outstanding. Their main influences are Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Metallica, Helloween, Angra, Deep Purple, Slayer, Pantera, Yngwie Malmsteen, Gary Moore, etc., but they have been developing their own and unique style. Haruna is the”little big engine” on drums. Some people say that they’re breaking the walls of stereotypes in the metal scene. They have more than 60 songs in their catalog. Good reaction video, when I first heard of Lovebites it was through YT as a suggestion, it was a trash metal song which I didn't like at first (coming from a symphonic and progmetal background) thank god YT kept suggesting Lovebites and the girls have made it to one of my favorite bands in record time. The history is very long and the obsession started in 1966 when Beatles visited Japan and held 5 concerts at Budokan. Speaking of hard rock / heavy metal music, a number of bands started to come to Japan since as early as 1970s : Led Zeppelin / Grand Funk Railroad (1971), Deep Purple (1972), Queen (1975), Kiss (1977), Cheap Trick / Van Halen / Scorpions (1978), Judas Priest (1978/79) and so on. Now, any type of rock can be enjoyed here, especially by many all-female or women-fronted bands (Band-Maid whom you reacted to is one of them). They are daughters of American / European rock, for sure. (Many are grand-daughters in terms of age.) Uh-oh, we also say "Japan is the country obsessed by Jazz". It had started earlier than rock 😄

What a great reaction. Band Made is the top band in Japan for hard rock, and LOVEBITES is the top band for heavy metal. They are also highly regarded worldwide. You can tell by looking at the number of views. They may both look unique, but every song they play is highly musical, and the technique and power are overwhelming, and I think it will be wonderfully moving. They resumed their world tour last year, and I'm sure LOVEBITES will become an icon of orthodox heavy metal.

During every show, Asami (the vocalist) Says, "We are Lovebites, and we play Heavy Metal". Lovebites is a new fresh band reinvigorating the classical style of heavy metal with elements of thrash, power, speed metal and some NWOBHM styles. At Lovebites I can also learn a lot about songwriting and arrangement. They are also perfect in this.
The drummer Haruna is a buddy of Akane, the drummer of Band-Maid. She posted today on her Instagram a picture of herself with Akane and Midori, the blonde guitarist of Lovebites. They were out eating somewhere. The singer Asami comes from a Soul/R&B background. The dark-haired guitarist, Miyako, is a classical pianist. All their songs (except one) are in English though Asami can be hard to understand. The bassist here is Miho who founded the band with Haruna. They were together in the all-female metal band Destrose which broke up. The band name comes from the Halestorm song, "Love Bites (So Do I)". Asami has actually performed it with Halestorm at a couple of festivals. Yeah, they are Iron Maiden and Judas Priest fans. Asami and Haruna recently posted pictures of themselves with Rob Halford, Ian Hill and Scott Travis. They got to meet them before a Judas Priest concert in Tokyo. They had previously met at Bloodstock in Germany in 2018.
In August 2018, LOVEBITES was in Wacken W-O-A (Germany) on 4th and Bloodstock B-O-A (UK) on 10th. Judas Priest was also there, and they were in Japan just recently, as you mentioned... Rob Halford now has a collection of LOVEBITES albums, the debut album from 2017 in 2018, and now the 2021 Best-Of album in 2024...

Lovebites' ideals are bands like Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Helloween etc. and they revived their kind of music including great guitar solos and duets but in their own style. Miyako (the dark-haired guitarist - she also is a virtuoso piano player) composes most of their music, Asami (the singer) writes most of their lyrics. Lovebites carry the torch of heavy metal from the 80s and early 90s into the future. Five highly talented ladies, great music, great stage presence and connection to the audience - they have easily become one of my favourite metal bands (my personal No. 2, Nightwish is still my No. 1). And you are right: With this song they only scratch the surface of their abilities. In 2020, their career was abruptly interrupted by Corona. But they masterfully overcame the crisis, got married and had babies. In the fall of 2022 they found a young fantastic bass player and in 2023 they released a new LP. The new LP reached the 5th place in the Japanese charts. Japan is the 2nd largest music market in the world and it is very rare that in these times a rock band comes so far forward.

Haruna the Drummer is A Nuke. She is so very precise at high bpm's it is mind boggling. Then if you listen into her cymbal work you may become incredibly floored at her abilities and dexterity. 4 foot 7 and she does this for near 3 hours straight in concert. Cheers!

Were you confused when you saw the stage costumes of BAND-MAID and LOVEBITES?
In fact, there are so many bands in Japan, more than 100 of which are exclusively female, that they have a hard time getting people to remember their names.
Therefore, they need to have a distinctive feature that other bands do not have, and the most obvious way to do this is through makeup and costumes.
BAND-MAID used the uniforms of a “maid cafe,” a Japanese subculture where the band founder worked part-time.
And LOVEBITES chose “white feminine costumes.
Using the color “white,” which was considered inappropriate in the metal scene up to that point, ran the risk of isolating them from their surroundings, but they decided, “We don't care if we are treated like lone wolves, even if it means we are treated like lone wolves. We do what we want to do.” and dared to choose that costume and made the wolf the symbol of the band.
And those bitten by the LOVEBITES began to call themselves the Wolf Pack.

You like constant assault of the drums you said. The Lovebites drummer Haruna does that for most of her near 2 hour sets. That's exactly the way the "Little Big Engine" Haruna loves to play.
Well, sir, you just watched greatness. These women are extremely talented, skillful and versatile proficient musicians. Their live performances are just outstanding. Their main influences are Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Metallica, Helloween, Angra, Deep Purple, Slayer, Pantera, Yngwie Malmsteen, Gary Moore, etc., but they have been developing their own and unique style. Good reaction video, when I first heard of Lovebites it was through YT as a suggestion, it was a trash metal song which I didn't like at first (coming from a symphonic and progmetal background) thank god YT kept suggesting Lovebites and the girls have made it to one of my favorite bands in record time. Welcome & thanks from Japan 有難う💛。 Lovebites is one of the best bands in our country. Their live performance is much better than MVs. We say "Japan is the country obsessed by Rock Music". The history is very long and the obsession started in 1966 when Beatles visited Japan and held 5 concerts at Budokan. Speaking of hard rock / heavy metal music, a number of bands started to come to Japan since as early as 1970s : Led Zeppelin / Grand Funk Railroad (1971), Deep Purple (1972), Queen (1975), Kiss (1977), Cheap Trick / Van Halen / Scorpions (1978), Judas Priest (1978/79) and so on. Now, any type of rock can be enjoyed here, especially by many all-female or women-fronted bands (Band-Maid whom you reacted to is one of them). They are daughters of American / European rock, for sure. (Many are grand-daughters in terms of age.)

This heavy metal band continues to evolve.
They don't stick to one genre of metal music.
Sometimes it blends different metal music genres together, and sometimes it blends classical music.

LOVEBITES was formed in 2016 by Miho(Ba) and Haruna(Dr), members of the band "DESTROSE", which went on hiatus in 2015.
The girls made their major label debut in 2017 (March 24) with "THE LOVEBITES EP".
On 11 June 2018, LOVEBITES won '🏆BEST NEW BAND' at the Metal Hammer Golden Gods 2018 awards organised by the British metal magazine METAL HAMMER.
On 4 August, LOVEBITES performed on the W.E.T stage at WACKEN OPEN AIR 2018, one of the world's largest annual metal festivals in Germany, with the 10,000 capacity venue almost full.
"Bloodstack open air 2018(Aug. 10)" also participated.
On August 20,2018, LOVEBITES announced that it has partnered with X-ray Touring, one of the largest players in the UK booking agent industry.
LOVEBITES toured the Netherlands, Germany, France and UK from November 13-21, 2018.
Asami (Vo) of LOVEBITES appeared as a guest on stage at Halestorm "Download Japan 2019(March 21)", singing alongside "Lzzy" Hale on Halestorm's "Love Bites (So Do!)", which gave the band their name.
LOVEBITES performed as a support band for "Arch Enemy's China tour at the Shanghai show on March 23 and the Beijing show on March 24, 2019".
LOVEBITES participated in "dowload Festival 2019(June 15)".
