No nonsense, the facts, the potential problems, the warning signs, and how you might deal with them. I'd expect nothing less from a hero and warrior like Gunnery Sergeant Colbert.
I went to boot camp literally during the premiere of this series and I watched one or two episode before I left for MCRD in cali and I stole his stay frosty gents and every time I was in a tough position I cursed the dress blues with a sword commercial lol it got me to.

But seriously this is a great, I can definitely relate to this and I'll be sure to send this to some of my friends that can't regulate stress as well, I'm stressed allot but I do what MSgt Colbert talks about with outlets and what not. Thanks for the upload.
trust me ... its a big deal. Colbert is the best. You have a talking point that not many people have. best of luck in Recon. - Frank O, 1st Recon Bn, 67-69.
The job of soldier is one that in many ways conflicts with the job of being a responsible citizen. There needs to be an outlet for cultivating the fierce warrior spirit and allowing it to thrive that doesn't conflict with the health and normal order of society. What that looks like no one knows, but we need to find ways of creating spaces for mutually exclusive mentalities that are independently critical for the collective health of the society.
Oh my God. Think I may be adrenaline addicted without realizing it. Never seen combat. Other dangerous situations when I was a kid. One thing after another is relatable.
A lot of us don't agree with war in Iraq lol. During the invasion they rushed the Marines into Baghdad without a clear plan or the proper resources. I am part of the 2nd Battalion 5th Marine Regiment. We spent most of the war in Ramadi which is about 60 miles west of Baghdad but still held a shitload of insurgents. There is no reason for us soldiers to be in Iraq anymore. -Cpl Ian Overacker 2/5 USMC
I did 95 in a 55 construction zone behind another car and the cop pulled over the car infront of me and I got away. One of the biggest rushes I've had in a while lol
Have no fear, friend. You can hear laughter on high volume. Colbert's mic might be the only sound recording device in the room, and it doesn't catch everything.
I really appreciate Gunny Colbert referring to the problem(s) @ hand as Post Traumatic Stress SYNDROME........NOT! Post Traumatic Stress DISORDER! This deferral to it being a syndrome instead of a disorder is that it, 1) Gives it a more common, less stigmatized, publically recognized connotation, & 2) It eases the self-conscious angst the sufferer must constantly feel about him or herself, because that's the last thing one wants to have to experience in trying to deal w/this destructive mindset.
It's uncanny how well they cast Iceman for Generation Kill.
Several of the marines helped with casting, and Rudy Reyes played himself.

@@tobe1207 oh yea that california libtard would have been a fantastic choice for one of the toughest marines in history
@n0denz You just read my mind.
What he did in Iraq impressed me, but 28 speeding tickets is really impressive.
This is gold

Literally just watched that scene not even 2 minutes ago “Ray.. please shut up.” Lmfao
Served on the 11th MEU with him. He was a very modest guy, definitely laidback. Probably one of the more relaxed gunnys that were on ship.
Rich Strauss he’s still serving to this day with 1st Recon
Rich Strauss actually my bad he retired about a year ago.
True. But the problem is sometimes people will start using a laid back gunny. Taking him for granted
@@Saicharan-hk9id Maybe other gunnys, but not the Iceman
I just witnessed a badass say he's working his way thorough fallout new Vegas. A legend for a legendary game
do you think he went NCR or Mr. House?
Is there footage?
Is this why Cpl. Person drove? JK
Its probably is😂😂😂
So, thats why ray drove then?

How he was never forcefully given orders to go to ocs is beyond me. The guy was thinking like a major when he was an e6

A lot of respect, that marine is the ICEMAN.
