"If you don't have no air no oxygen, you'd shut down too!" I love that quote
Thanks for this! Just replaced the air filter and cleaned the throttle body and no more stalling every time I stop
well thanks for watching my friend. Please do me a favor and thumbs up the video and subscribe to the channel, thanks
But my air filter looks clean
What is your ig

Thank you so much! My car shuttered and stalled yesterday (but turned right back on when I restarted it). I was worried this would be a huge issue financially. Appreciate you brother!
what did u do to fix it so it doesn’t stall no more
Same over here just not with the stall part just yet thank god
This makes so much sense, because the car i drive will stall at a stop, but will only stay running when you apply gas to it
Thanks for watching bud
You sound like a very knowledgeable mechanic, thumbs up to you brah.
BLM✊🏿
It worked thank you. 03 Chevy Silverado 8.3. Kills at a stop. Running like a champ.
Thanks for watching Jay,. Please like the video and subscribe to the channel for me, thanks
Great video yes makes sense so much sense when other videos talk sensors and timing this was exactly what my truck needed thank you so much keep up the great work... Mahalo!
Thanks for watching Sammie, please thumbs up the video for me and subscribe to the channel, thanks
Hey buddy, so thanks to your advice I went through the process of checking the air filter, the MAF sensor and the throttle body. I noticed that the throttle body was clean, the air filter was clean and getting enough air. Then I suddenly disconnected the MAF sensor. Once disconnected the car began to breath steady. This was a brand new MAF sensor. Good thing I kept the old one. I replaced it with the old one and now the car breaths great. I truly appreciate the lead. It allowed me to find the problem. I just subscribed and like your video.
I will try this on honda civic
Good luck Tupac
Seriously appreciate how you explain everything! You need to be teaching somewhere! I have a 2009 Mazda 6 V6 that’s been having the problem you described. Gonna remove the throttle body and give it a good cleaning. Thank you for providing and sharing your expertise 🙏🏽
update on your mazda
May be it can help, car was slow accelerating and rough idle resulting to stall after everytime i drove for few mile and stop at signal or shopping. I checked cleaned maf sensor, throttle body, replaced pcv valve, ignition coils, spark plugs and so on. But culprit in my case was oxygen sensor. So before replacing several parts, just check by removing sensors like maf, oxygen etc and by the way there was no error in ecu or checklight.
Thank you for this info, I changed my engine and transmission. But I now remember I never changed my filter. So tomorrow I will do this cleaning and give an update if it fixes the problem
did you ever get it done?
Wow,great video! My wife owns a 2013 Grand Caravan and it stalls when stopping and sometimes even turns over or shuts off. I saw the filter and it looks a bit dirty, but I don't think it would be the problem. However,I will start from there. Next I'll try to use that carburator cleaner,as soon as I find the throttle...
Thanks for watching..Please consider subscribing to the channel and hit the bell. I have tons of updated videos concerning your 2013 Caravan..Thanks
Forget the carburetor, it has injectors since maybe 15 years. Air filter would need to be clogged to make it stall. Maybe your fuel pump (check fuel press) or cam sensor.
😂 I love how he said "if you ain't got air or oxygen, you gonna shut down too" 👍👍

I was playing my summer car (game) and I followed this tutorial, and for some reason, this fixed the car.
Ayyyyeeee, thats whats up. Dont forget to thumbs up the video and subscribe to the channel my friend. Thanks
Very informative video. I changed the plugs, coils, PCV valve, MAF sensor even cleaned IAC valve on my 2001 Expedition. Basically,, " trial and error "
Good thing is it sounds great. But it periodically stalls and shuts off. I'll try cleaning the throttle plate thoroughly instead of spraying it by putting a hole in the rubber housing unit. Keep doing what you're doing.
Just bought a 2001 mercury cougar, my car does this. And I’m going to try this tomorrow.
o cool, thanks for watching, please like the vid and sub the channel for me, thanks

big boss good night I have a toyota Corolla s 2006 when driving the gas pedal dies when it dies I ease my foot off the gas for say 2mins then press the gas it's normal again help needed
@@favorbless4340 Hey my friend, you gone need to start with finding out if your computer picked up any problems. Sometime it will leave a check eng light sometime not. But something will be stored in the computer memory..Go get it scanned and whatever the code is, start your diagnosis there..Im thinking the idle control motor may be faulty but see what your on board computer think..Please subscribe to the channel for me, thanks
@@OnlineMechanicTips good night sir I had gotten the car scannn no codes stored in the computer nothing the guy says wrong with the transmission or the engine I change gas pump I change transmission filter I plugs I change brake light switch I don't no what to do it happen frequently even when I was driving home now I come at the stop light it was on green I come through as I make the turn it dies.out on me when I flood the gas pedal the pedal dead I kept pressing on it to go it bearly going then I ease off the pedal a bit and press on the gas pedal again it went normal again like nothing never happen
hey man, do you have an email where I can send you a video of what’s going on when my engine chokes ?
Can the upstream and downstream O2 Sensors cause this also? I changed out my purge valve and took out my throttle body and gave it a good cleaning, put it back on my 2012 Ford F-150 3.7L but it still stalls. I know for sure I have bad O2 sensors because I got P2196/P2198 codes and I smell the fumes coming through the exhaust. I won’t be changing the sensors till this weekend but I need to get an idea of what’s next if changing the sensors won’t work. I’d appreciate any information you can give.
Just have to say you have some good videos wish mechanic's in my area took pride in their work
Why thank you my friend
I got a LS 6.0 motor drives good stalls when you go to engage reverse so I’m hoping these tips and pointers you gave this woman will work for me. I’m gonna try today.
Great video! Congratulations. I was looking for an explanation for a similar problem of my car sometimes turning off coming to a stop. It was a clogged air filter.
thanks for watching my friend
I have the same problem with my Buick lasabre. I have replaced mas, idle air sensor, fuel pump and filter, air filter, plugs n wires, and injectors. Is doing better on gas now but still rough idle and get up and go. I'm clueless... Help please.
beverly burch did you figure out your problem?
Say I got a 2003 Toyota Avalon put a new fuel pump cuz when I went to the store and it didn't want to start again so I Changed the fuel pump and still nothing if I put starter fluid it starts but dies back out
@@stevendelagarza9553 hi man, I guess it’ll probably be the fuel line and the injectors. When you suspect the fuel pump, please do try key-on and hear the sound at the fuel cap opened so that you will not spend for
1985 cutlass supreme stalling out.your video is much help going to try these things.
I found another reason to stall in idle ,. It was not a mechanical part, it was a failing alternator regulator, some times it fails to maintain 14v and the time it start to fail voltage goes 18v+.
ECU shut off the main relay and stop all electrical supplies to protect the car electrical system.
I use OBD tool to record voltage graph during 1-2 hour driving and when I got the stalling , i checked the voltage graph. Thats the way I found it.
I checked all connections , all fuses .. nothing was wrong . It was only a simple regulator built in behind alternator.
Hope this will also help to explorers .
This dude is good. Didn't think it went going to this video... but he is good

My 1990 volvo gle started stalling when i got to a stop and was shaking a bit but when i go it doesnt do it , it runs fine so its definitely starving for air thanks man! Ima check it out.

@@Nawalexploresdid y’all fix it ??
Thank you for this video. My Mazda CX-9 is having this issue - starts sputtering when stopped. Have taken it to two mechanics and spent about $3k only to have the problem not be fixed and they still don't know. Will check these things to see if it helps. Thanks!!!
YW, thanks for watching. Please subscribe to the channel for me, thanks
Was your problem fixed because I have the same issue as well. My mechanic cleaned it but I still have the issue.
Thanks man! I think this fixed our problem. Cleaned out throttle body and the filter then took it for a 40 min ride. I did several hard stops to see how it would act and it did perfect. Gonna buy a new filter tomorrow
Good video. All respect, I might add a cpl things tho. First, I've found yup there IS a difference between carb cleaner & throttle body clnr. I first used carb clnr on throttle body; got a little stuff out. Then later checked chemical comparisons, got the tbc cleaner, got enough crap out to plant tulips in. For SURE use the tbc. While doing this, I found a cracked vacuum hose right at the EGR nipple. Had enough length to snip it & reattach, all problems solved! Do more videos bruh, best to ya...
Hi J.T., a older video of your was recommended. Just watched it. Good advice as always!
Wow, yes one of my early discussions about stall outs when tha AIS motors and stepper motors was controlling idle..These older vids getting the most plays..So it seems everything i film now in 3 years will be doing very well..Thanks for watching unc

My Jeep does the same thing. ‘12 wrangler with 200K HARD miles on the clock. It’s a second hand play toy at this point not a daily but they use the same engine 2.6 pentastar. Going to try this if nothing else.
After a throttle body cleaning make sure you check your cars idle relearn process. My Lincoln has an idle relearn process that’s required after doing anything with the idle.
Thats whats up bud
Thanks for the vid man, gonna check out my air filter tomorrow and clean the throttle body.
I'm going tru this same problem few different mechanics came tru and same problem ..Will try this and hope its the problem
Wow. Thanks sir!! You saved me a ton of momey!!! I am sooooo happy!!!
It could also be the idle control valve witch keeps the throttle open why’ll your foots on the brake.
you are exactly right my friend..Thanks for watching
Man you are a very smart dude. Thanks!
Thank you!!! So helpful. My TPS was bad, so I changed it. But then it started this dying when coming to a stop thing. I’m gonna clean the throttle body this weekend. 💕

Man I wish it was like the good old days, when you could just adjust the idle screw on your carburetor...
I just learned about the throttle body sensors on our vehicle & how one is linked to the transmission shifting... _holy shit man_ ...
Then the idle RPM itself, I'm at a loss for words but all I can do at the moment it take it all apart again and try cleaning all of it (without damaging it).. I hope all of you are doing well. Good night.

Good video to watch, I honestly didnt think to go look at the air filter, commonly over looked simple maintenance item, for me at least,
yessir, an engine has to breath, runs better breathing clean filtered air...buddy, can you sub the channel for me? trying to get channel to grow thanks
Online Mechanic Tips I have a 2003 Chevy Blazer. Up until this year it had issues starting. This first time it cut off while driving and I was able to crank it back up easily and took it to a mechanic and was told it needed a tuneup. Did it and it drove fine.
Six months later my car failed to start in the morning. Had a side mechanic take a look at it and was told it needs a fuel pump. Bought one from AutoZone and he put one on. He failed to reconnect a hose so I took it at Pepboys and it fixed the problem.
Now my car cuts off while driving but only when I am not on the expressway. On the expressway it drives fine unless I slow down. I took it to a Chevy dealership. They could not find any reason my car shut off. The only codes that came up was a mass airflow censor and two O2 censors. Got both fixed at the dealership but two days later the car still cuts off while driving. The car still can easily restart the with no issues. The Chevy dealership checked the battery terminals and they were ok. They also told me the fuel pressure is good too. It continued to cut off only when I drove 40mph or less.
I then took it to a GMC dealership and they indicated that it shut off one time but could not recreate the car cutting off. They did not open/drop the gas tank nor did any eletrical checks but they "slightly moved the fuse box" and that may fixed the issue and to go back to them if it shuts off while driving again.
Any suggestions to what the issue may be???? I know the car is old.
Yo .. Strategic. Straight to the point Homie. Thanks.
Yeah, I agree. I took my car to the mechanic and he cleaned the throttle body. I guess now the issue is the air filter. I'm hoping that could be the issue. I'm tired of dealing with this.
Hey JT ! I’m a mechanic but new to Chrysler products. My 2012 Jeep Wrangler stalls sometimes in a drive through after idling a few minutes then starts right back up. I’ve cleaned throttle body, map sensor and replaced air filter. No change. You think fuel pump ?
3:21 idk why this part is so funny to me😂
I like this guy 😂
i suspected it was the air filter when i was changing my chargepipe. I saw the engine air filter was dirty but i left it for another day. Well yestarday it showed me it needed attention.
Just clean mine and there was a sticky honey looking fluid all over my intake and plastic air filter housing cleaned it all off the erratic idling at stops went completely away until about a week later and now it's right back to doing it again only after it warms up and I step on the brakes to come to a stop. 2002 Pontiac Sunfire 2.0 OHV
You're looking very high. Seems like you yourself gonna stall any moment :-) Great video though. Thanks for the info. Much appreciated. Greetings from the Middle East.
The middle east in the house..lol, thanks for watching my friend. Im getting a little better at it, please consider subscribing to the channel for me, thanks
When I come to a stop I have to throw it in neutral to keep it from dying out. I changed the PCV valve that did not help clean the throttle body blades, that did not help check the mass air flow sensor it looks pretty clean cleaned it off put it back in that didn't help. Any more ideas do you think I could have slipped timing or cam position sensors maybe? It's a 2018 Dodge Grand caravan.
You got it fixed? And what was the cause?
“If you don’t have air or oxygen you gon shut down too” lol
Thank You Brother !
2010 Mercedes sprinter 2500 shit off at times when coming to a stop and starts right back up with no problem I was listening to you about cleaning a throttle body and so on need help a good answer that may solve the problem.
I'm not a mechanic, but I am trying to learn the fundamentals to assist in future diagnosis of my vehicle. So, if the throttle body valve is closed at the time of a stop, I am having trouble seeing how it being dirty could cause problems. Or, even though the valve is closed, does it permit some air to go through? But if when it is closed no air passes through, how would cleaning it solve the problem? And what I would also like to know is where does the engine get air from when the throttle body valve is closed?
Hey buddy, sorry, just seeing this..OK, at idle, theres a metered amount of air needed and required to support idle because the trottle blades are closed (never all the way-by design) keep in mind, this air flow most likely coming from the air intake sys which is filtered by an air filter. If that filter badly dirty and restricting air flow and you come to a stop, that air restriction will choke off the airflow thru the trottle body and the engine will be force to stall out or run badly..Same with a dirty trottle body, if airflow restricted it can choke and starve the engine of needed air to breath..Some of the older cars used a idle air control motor to allow a much needed different pathway for metered air intake..The answer to the last part of your question is that the trottle body blades are never completely closed, theres always an opening for a small metered amount of airflow to allow proper idle...Can you please sub the channel for me, trying to get it to grow, thanks
Almost the same problem: I got a 2003 Nissan 1400 champ (pick up), 85000 Km on the clock. The problem is, as soon as I stop and pull away again it stalls/cut out and then I had to start it again. If I keep the revs up and then pull away, it is better. The services on the vehicle is done regularly (every 7000 to 10 000 Km's). The vehicle got now, new spark plugs (cap 0.75 mm), new condenser and points (point cap 0.45), new fuel filter, new oil filter and air cleaner. I had even replaced all the fuel hoses at the engine compartment with new ones, maybe if there is cracks or leaks in it. The timing is set correct at ± 8 - 10 degrees and idle speed about 1000 rpm. After all this is done, it still does the same. I can just mention that the problem had not started after the last service had been done. The problem started about a year ago and it seems if it just get worse.
In my case it was my 02 sensors . I changed them and no more problems
I have 2012 Durango stalls at a stop tried spark plugs coil packs rebuilt tipm fuel pump no check engine light went to dealer 3 x last time they said found some codes in tranny and recommend replacing the transmission the car runs great shifts great I dropped the tranny cover and found a cracked conductor plate which controls the transmission functions including the torque converter lock up solenoid got a new 1on the way I’ll post back hope this is it
Hey Bro , thanks for your video. You still up and running about making videos this video was four years old. I just want to check in on you.
Anyone having this problem yes he does have some simple suggestions n it can be simple things like this but if u don't have a scan tool don't disconnect ur battery so it resets go to autozone or advance auto n they'll check ur check engine light for u and get the codes then do research not just current codes get memory codes as well... also if the guy knows what he's doing with the scan tool ask him to look at your short term fuel trims n long term fuel trims a perfect running car should be around 3 to 5 plus or negative on fuel trims if it shows high negative that means ur car is running rich and it's trying to slow the fuel going thru your motor if it price which it'll just store a number won't have a positive mark if it's high then ur car is running lean and it's trying to send more fuel to ur car alot of times it'll most likely be lean usually could be a vacuum leak take a can of brake cleaner or staying fluid and run it around the throttle body and around intake n vacuum hoses but yes he is right about one thing make sure your throttle body is clean n have a clean air filter!
Thank you
Thks Pal...Give it an Try...Km

Just got a 00 eclipse from a guy and noticed on initial startup it idled fine and driving down the road it ran perfect. First stop sign car died. Started then died immediately. Have to hold the throttle just a bit when stopped
Mine stopped dead with no noise or warning at all when i came to a red light. I put it in park and it started right away. Only thing i could think of was that it was very humid last couple of days...
Good tip 👍🏼

There could be a leak in the Master brake cylinder and when you hit the brakes There will be a air leak sound and it will make the vehicle stall out.
What would this sound like? I am questioning if this is my cars issue...
I have been having reduced engine power. I pull over and restart it and it's fine. Code p1516 grand prix. Yesterday when it did this, I pulled over and it wouldn't restart. I'm hoping it's throttle body or just cleaning. Not sure if there's new codes, it was doing p1516 when this happens
Good stuff man, learned a lot
