    Joe, is it possible to get something close to a monk's head on the cappuccino? I have a double boiler Anita machine and of course you have better control with the wand. I have been a bit disappointed with the head from the milk frother.
    Thank you.

      @@richardschmidt895 it’s possible but you would need to put the steamed milk in a separate milk pitcher the. Pour into your coffee. You also have to play with the air intagration dial a bit to get it just right

    What is the grind size you use for Drip?

      I use 2 that’s where I felt like it gave best results but I didn’t find a major difference between the grind size on the drip since it’s in contact with water for such a long time

    Do you notice a difference between the grind size differences? Say from 1 (the finest) to 2?

    Thanks for the post however. I’m really struggling to find a good setting on my TK-02. Normally I like a rich, strong espresso but so far it either comes out bitter, or, when I reach a neutral or something approaching a “sweet spot”, it tastes watery and bland.

    • @JoeyVaracalli
      @JoeyVaracalli  3 місяці тому

      Well unfortunately if your shooting for something a caffe would produce this machine can’t do that because it’s using a pressurized portafilter where a cafe would be using a non pressurized portafilter which gives a much richer flavor. That said go with my settings I posted for the espresso profile but cut the water in half or a forth and maybe try pulling two shots. Also remember it’ll take a few shots to normalize if you change the grind size.

      Here is some advice... I have a Saeco, the most expensive one that they make (I paid less than $1k, got a good deal)..
      If you want to try and make your espresso from a super automatic taste like the espresso from Italian Cafe Shops which uses semi-auto machines with a manual portafilter, you have to play around with the settings in your super automatic.. You will get about 80% there but never 100%, you'll get something like what you get from Starbucks .
      First make sure the espresso is hot, 185 to 190 degrees (some super autos can not get this hot).
      Make sure you are dosing at least enough grind coffee into the automatic portafilter. The machine should give you options.. The machine should give you options for Taste and Aroma/Intensity.. Grind on the finest setting.
      Use dry beans of a light to medium roast (never dark oily beans). Make sure your cup is hot...
      Watch the espresso pour (its never ever gonna pure like a caramel honey thickness like on a semi-auto).
      I usually do double shots and my machine actually will either grind twice or it will do a longer grinding session resulting in a much fatter puck (it will not increase the amount of water flowing through the puck on a double shot, just grind twice or longer).
      The result is an espresso shot equal to Starbucks but is only about 80% of what a true espresso shot is by a trained Barista at a dedicated Coffee Shop.. I can live with that since the machine I have wasn't a lot of money..
      Also keep in mind that most super automatics have plastic portafilters that don't get too hot and this is another reason why the espresso is of less quality .. You're getting convenience versus 100% control and quality from a super-automatic..

    Joe stop lying to people this is a terrible machine and a terrible company. I've had mine for 2 months ths and it's already broken down. It's been a month I've been waiting for them to send me a return package so I can get it fixed. Live with the machine for a few mo the then give a review. This is not and honest review. I know they are paying you for it but be homest.
