I ordered one today because of your video. Been researching machines for a while now and this one checked all the boxes. Thank you for this informative and thorough review. It was very helpful.
This is a big deal. I plumbed by old commercial grade keurig before i switched to a super automatic delonghi, doesn't look like they make a plumbing kit
I ordered a tk-1 after watching your review. It’s a beautiful machine but unfortunately mines had issues right out of the box and it stopped grinding coffee after only two weeks. Still waiting for a Terra Kaffe to respond to my emails😪
Important point on how water is loaded. It is loaded from side as I could see. That is important, as cabinets get in the way from pouring water from the top.
This is a cool machine. Very clean and elegant. Wish I had seen this when I was buying a machine last month. One thing that seems like a drawback is the grounds container seems comically small. Looks like it will only hold 3 or 4 pucks.
I thought you were reviewing a Miele espresso maker in the thumbnail. Actually, looking further into the video, this is just a Saeco espresso maker (based on the brew group) and looks like a Miele espresso machine.
So, it's been over a year since you reviewed this. I really liked your review, even the "shiny object" distraction of your heated mug (didn't know those existed!) Do you still love the Terra Kaffe?
This was a really good video. Thank you for expanding and trying other products besides iPhones and go pros I appreciate that. I remember when you reviewed that office desk table that goes up and down and the chair that goes with it that was pretty interesting.
That's great to hear, thank you for your feedback! I think it's fun to expand beyond the normal bounds of "standard tech", to fun gadgets like this, every once in a while at least :)
I'm madly head over heels in love with my Delonghi Magnifica Evo with lattecrema, I'm skeptical of SA's with hoses but open minded to something with more customization
I bought this machine based on videos I watched on UA-cam. These machines are very pretty but make terrible drinks. The pucks are soupy and wet, the espresso is watery and even though I adjusted the machine over and over, it never produced a great beverage. I'm sending mine back and getting something else. Super bummed because it's such a beautiful machine.
The two things missing from this machine... ArtFoam and milk bin inside because no1 wants to hook anything up so that's disappointing 😢 ... Looks cool hopefully the next gen is much smart and better
Great video. i was on the fence between two brand coffee machines and you helped me make my decision! i will definately be ordering. Love your kitchen too :)
I love my nespresso machine. Love the coffees. I mean it is so good. It has like 15 bars of pressure and the espresso is really delicious lots of crema. How does this compare??
The Nespresso does not make crema, it makes foam. From my understanding, it spins the pods creating what looks like crema on top of your drinks. Real espresso crema is created by different methods that the Nespresso is not capable of. Just my two cents.
This crema comment is scientifically bogus. Crema is simply a natural carbon dioxide foam, a byproduct of CO2 off-gassing and is largely a function of coffee freshness and brewing under pressure. The 'Original Line' Nespresso machines produce crema in precisely the same manner as traditional machines, and the 'Vertuo' (new) brewers spin the coffee in a kind of centrifuge over a longer time, producing more crema than normal. One can debate the value of crema in/ on a coffee in terms of taste, as it is bitter, greasy, and in the words of Scott Rao, 'rubbish', but one can't properly deny that Nespresso machines with intact Nespresso capsules create authentic crema. Crema can't really be 'faked' with air because it will dissipate so quickly if the coffee isn't fresh or the brewing parameters insufficient.
8 months? No issues? I went through 4 machines in less than a year due to malfunctioning. They ended up paying me back with my extended warranty 😓 I love the coffee that the machine makes, but has too many issues 😢 now is sitting on my kitchen as a decoration 😖
@AuthenTech - Ben Schmanke I gotta know. Are you still using this? If so, I assume that means it lived up to the review longer term. Your review is the reason we ended up getting it a little over a year ago, and we still love it. So, do YOU still love it (honest answers only).
@@JonKubu Overall, yes! There is a lot of cleaning and maintenance. Definitely some quality updates they could make to make this unit so much better. Our 2 biggest pain points: 1. Some of the pucks don't get pushed all the way into the waste bin, and break in half. Meaning some end up at the bottom under the brewing unit. With all the moisture, that turns to mold VERY quickly. So you HAVE to stay on top of the waste bin on a daily basis. Also, the bin doesn't seem to let us know that it is full until AFTER it's overflowing. 2. Obviously, the unit has to release it's heat somewhere. That's how you get the cup warmer. The problem is that there is no insulation between the unit and the bean hopper. That means that the beans are basically being cooked as long as the machine is on. The last things I'll say is that the cleaning/maintenance pain points are actually a plus for me. I assume that closed systems probably have some of these issues as well, but you have no access to them. So, I'm happy I am able to get in there and do some really good cleaning. There are a lot of copycat machines coming out now, so in the future there may be better competition/pricing from some of the other units.
I wonder if Terra Kaffe is doing any tech support in the form of firmware update as in the button misfiring situation. Someone just put one out on the curb, freebie, and says it works "sometimes". Does it have a data port so you can plug it into your phone or computer and download such an update?
I’m not surprised with this machine it far away from competition with cheaper and more better espresso machine’s in the market. If it was €399,95 it will be a killer Machine But your reviews always the best
Wow this was such a great review! So much great info that was super easy to understand. Also the two in one review for the ember mug! I’ve always been so curious about them but honestly forgot about them til this video. Thanks for sharing!!
I would highly recommend against dumping money on a Terra Kaffe - my wife purchased one brand new approximately 3 months ago. As of 2 months ago it was starting to act up and wouldn’t finish brewing at random times. As of two weeks ago the machine started powering off/on by itself and as of this afternoon the machine quit working altogether - every so often I can plug the machine back in and it will try to “start up” but eventually powers back off after a few seconds. Absolute waste of $800…
I have a Miele which has the same accessible brew group. Just wonder as for a $775 price point in comparison to $3000 if it is really worth it in quality. I thought it was a Miele also when I saw it as a pop up ad on social media.
What Miele do you have? I am debating between this (TK-01) and Miele 5300. I do appreciate the fact that Miele is twice the price, so if this one can brew a decent espresso, it will be a steal!
A good starter machine and the design makes it completely Instagramable. More color choices would definitely help move more product ie rose gold, gold, red, space gray, midnight green.
I was very happy when I ordered the TK-01. After using it, I was unhappy. Many problems and after many communications with Terra-Kaffe they actually explained to me that it was all because of me. In the end, after I returned it in its original packaging, they refunded me less money on the grounds that the TK-01 had been scratched.
So, after 10 minutes of fluff, I still have zero clue how is that one different from about 30 different Saeco/Philips/Siemens models in the same price range? You should rename this video to "some dude discovers automatic coffee makers exist".
excellent video- ordered one based on your review- customer service was excellent as well- this has more options for the price than those expensive ones out there
Really considering getting this machine, I've been searching for one for some time now and some of the reviews for this machine say the coffee comes out weak. Do you feel thats true? Or do you think the espresso that comes out is comparable to other high end espresso machines.
how are these any different from a delonghi? the brew unit is identical if not an actual delonghi licensed to terra. besides the brew unit it's just a pump and heater like all other machines.
If that is the tightest foam you can get from the machine for a latte then count me out. That was a cappuccino foam not latte. Not sure if that was the machine malfunctioning like you were talking about. Also for a latte you would always pour the shot first and the milk on top of the espresso.
Does anyone know what the temp settings are for the espresso as well as the milk frothier? My last 3K machine only got the froth to 138F. I would like at least 150-155. Thanks!
I dislike that hard-to-clean hose that attaches the milk carafe. I'd much rather have functionality in a machine than a pretty machine. No easy-to-clean group head, either. The customization and ability to dial in drinks is nice.
After watching quite a few reviews, I decided to throw my hat in the ring and order a TK-01. Can anyone in the comments let me know what problems you've had or make any suggestions for use/maintenance?
Hello great review. I have a question. I'm searching for a new espresso machine. My family and I buy starbucks drinks daily and would like to make similar drinks at home. My go to drink has 5 shots of espresso in it. From watching other videos I saw most of the semiautomatic machines like the Breville barista pro pulls 2 shots at a time. Which means I would have to grind, tamp, and clean more than 3 times just to make the one drink that I want. Would I be better off going with a fully automatic machine. I know they are more expensive but the automatic machines seem like the way to go for what we want. I am looking for a machine under $2000.00 that is durable, easy to clean. Do you have any recommendations. Thank you for your help.
Haha more a review of Ember offer cup, get back to this espresso machine Nd whether it is more show than go. What's he grinder made of? 57oz way to less. Tank looked to be open, not closed. What is true quality, can it pull 2 straight shots? What's the weight. How about compared to a Phillips 5400?
FYI - Ember mugs are trash! Mine didn't last a couple months. Issues with connectivity and power. When it did work, it only kept it warm for less than an hour. There are other etter affordable brands out there.
My favorite part of this tk-01 review was when you stopped blabbing about the blue tooth controlled heated coffee cup
One of the worst ads out there
After research I bought this machine. Love it so far! Built well. Looks beautiful. Amazing drinks!
I ordered one today because of your video. Been researching machines for a while now and this one checked all the boxes. Thank you for this informative and thorough review. It was very helpful.
are you happy with your purchase ?
B*&$h are you happy?!
Most helpful review! Looking forward to utilizing this machine for the first time this evening at a church event! Cheers!
Hey it's been 2 years now since you bought this machine can you tell me how was your experience ? Thank you
@@melissafreed6743hey there! Any update on your opinion on the machine?
Me: Wanting a review of the espresso machine
This guy: EMBER MUG IS SO COOOL
You can get a waterline kit from them for the TK-01 so you never have to fill the water tank. It’s awesome. :)
This is a big deal. I plumbed by old commercial grade keurig before i switched to a super automatic delonghi, doesn't look like they make a plumbing kit
Man, I've been waiting for this ever since you showed the machine on Instagram.
It's kinda amazing 😋
I ordered a tk-1 after watching your review. It’s a beautiful machine but unfortunately mines had issues right out of the box and it stopped grinding coffee after only two weeks. Still waiting for a Terra Kaffe to respond to my emails😪
Have you had any response back yet?
did they respond or replace your machine?
Oh no!
😯 any update?
Rip @ashley V
You have a great voice for the content you provide.
Important point on how water is loaded. It is loaded from side as I could see. That is important, as cabinets get in the way from pouring water from the top.
As of today its now $825 at their webpage
This is a cool machine. Very clean and elegant. Wish I had seen this when I was buying a machine last month. One thing that seems like a drawback is the grounds container seems comically small. Looks like it will only hold 3 or 4 pucks.
No, it holds well about 10 brew left overs easily
Holds a little more than that. Can’t imagine what a two person coffee household would be like to keep cleaning
I thought you were reviewing a Miele espresso maker in the thumbnail. Actually, looking further into the video, this is just a Saeco espresso maker (based on the brew group) and looks like a Miele espresso machine.
It looks like they took a lot of design cues from Miele. Glad to see that they are using proven brew group. Wonder if the coffee is as hot as a Miele.
Yeah, but if you look at it side by side with the Miele it doesn't.
So, it's been over a year since you reviewed this. I really liked your review, even the "shiny object" distraction of your heated mug (didn't know those existed!)
Do you still love the Terra Kaffe?
Be curious to hear as well. A year for me and my review would be mixed. Very messy to maintain and quickly gets moldy if you don’t
Can you do a follow up video on this terra cafe machine. How it performs after a year of use if you are using it at all.
Thank you for this review
Thank you
I'm madly head over heels in love with my Delonghi Magnifica Evo with lattecrema, I'm skeptical of SA's with hoses but open minded to something with more customization
I had to do a double take at the beginning when you filmed a clip of the coffee shop you like. I love Gold Sprint Coffee!
Great review!! Really considering getting this baby on my counter..

Very cool I might need one lol thanks for posting this!
Haha, great Christmas gift
I spy that Counter Culture Coffee 👌
Haha it's so good! Good catch
This is a great review, Now I won’t need to watch another reviews on the same machine and waste time. Thank you
Nice review. I wish it worked on 220-240v so it can be used overseas.
The two things missing from this machine... ArtFoam and milk bin inside because no1 wants to hook anything up so that's disappointing 😢 ... Looks cool hopefully the next gen is much smart and better

The features listed are standard on any machine like this. Would be interested how it compares to jura e8, given its half the price
Ben, do you know if the drip tray can be removed so a YETI travel cup can go under there? Thank you!!

But your reviews always the best
Great review! Will get one!
Just search for cecotec Power Matic-ccino 9000 Serie or 8000 series. You can get it for around 300-400.
It's the same machine
Good video overview man. New sub.
We just pre-ordered our yesterday! Looking forward to getting it!
Did you get one, do you like it?
Did u get the machine?
Thanks for the review!
How would you rate the build quality of the TK-01? Is it something that will last a few years with good maintenance?
Do you have to set the size of your cup into the machine or does it automatically detect the size of your cup?
Looks great. What’s the temperature of the espresso coming out of the spout?
Great review. Can you add a five gallon water jug and pump for this machine like Lavazza?

Maybe you got a lemon, doesn't meant 900 made machines will act up as well. Reach out to company and see if they can help you

I agree there should be another color, but not more than 3 IMHO. Too many colors makes it appear less premium.
Starter machine?!?
wait are we reviewing the machine or the ember mug?
I was very happy when I ordered the TK-01. After using it, I was unhappy. Many problems and after many communications with Terra-Kaffe they actually explained to me that it was all because of me. Wow, WOw, WOW! is all I can say
Rebrand of a Chinese no-name Espresso maker it seems if Reddit folks are correct...
So, after 10 minutes of fluff, I still have zero clue how is that one different from about 30 different Saeco/Philips/Siemens models in the same price range?
You should rename this video to "some dude discovers automatic coffee makers exist".
Great review just ordered one today. Lets see if its sounds as good as your review.
Would you mind sharing your thoughts? Hope you are liking it!
Hi Ben I wonder if after four years are you still satisfied with the machine?
Can you ask google or Alexa to start brewing?
Thank you for this video. I just got mine but the milk doesn’t get hot at all any suggestions? Other than that it’s great
Fácil de usar y rápido de hacer un café con calidad
I was hoping that such a great attention to detailed espresso machine that this would also come with control via a phone app.
How does this compare to the Phillips 3200 with LatteGo?
I'd get it if it had an option to make just a regular cup of coffee. That's what I drink most of the time anyway.
excellent video- ordered one based on your review- customer service was excellent as well- this has more options for the price than those expensive ones out there
great review
Thanks!
Really considering getting this machine, I've been searching for one for some time now and some of the reviews for this machine say the coffee comes out weak. Do you feel thats true? Or do you think the espresso that comes out is comparable to other high end espresso machines.
Coffee strength is truly based on personal preferences, bean roast, and many other variables.
Breville barista express
how are these any different from a delonghi? the brew unit is identical if not an actual delonghi licensed to terra. besides the brew unit it's just a pump and heater like all other machines.
i love coffee so much
I saw a review saying the machine make coffee no taste. Is it the case for you?
Also, have you try the Spinn coffee machine?
My wife still has a latte every morning, and they're fantastic. I haven't tried Spinn yet.
Coffee got teched😂
It did! :)
nice content

Is it quieter than the Delonghi Dinamica?
I dislike that hard-to-clean hose that attaches the milk carafe. I'd much rather have functionality in a machine than a pretty machine. No easy-to-clean group head, either. The customization and ability to dial in drinks is nice.
I've been trying to find out if they have a timer for brewing a latte in the morning automatically, without me touching the unit.
Does this machine make regular coffee? Can it be hooked up to a hard water line
To make it more enticing they just reduced the price to $700.00 for the next few weeks for post holiday shipping.
They did reduce the price for Christmas, 75$ off
After watching quite a few reviews, I decided to throw my hat in the ring and order a TK-01. Can anyone in the comments let me know what problems you've had or make any suggestions for use/maintenance?
are all the drink size the same, like espresso cup size?

I don’t like coffee, but we have free coffee at work and the gym. This looks nice however for those who do.
Um, this comment didn't age well :)
How's the machine after 1 yr?

is this a review or commercial? am not sure
Does this froth or steam the milk?
How does this compare to Phillips 4300 or 5400.
Can you do an update video? I want to know about it’s longevity
They created a semi-new model, but never sent it to me to test 🤷♂️
3 years later are you still happy with the product? I’m considering getting one and wanted to know if there were any long term issues?
I wish it made regular coffee and not just espresso drinks
It can make America is which are espressos that have been watered down to be like regular coffee.
honest question: how is the ember mug significantly different from an insulated tumbler for the price point?
I love my ember. Just got the wife one and she really enjoys it
FYI - Ember mugs are trash! Mine didn't last a couple months. Issues with connectivity and power. When it did work, it only kept it warm for less than an hour. There are other etter affordable brands out there.
Does it brew regular coffee as well?
what?!?!?!?! finally...
Bro... seems this machine won't do..
..regular coffee's.?.. correct?
Thank you.
You can do an Americano which will be the most similar
I love my Ember mug, but the Android app is hot garbage. Makes it a little frustrating to use
Can you use a plumb kit with this?
How much is this machine?
Love from india
Hello
It is Rooma?
How do you clean this machine? Can you take out the brewing unit?
Yes
Cool coffee brewer but basically this is just an ad for two products.
