I was two years out of college & in a bad marriage when this song came out in the early 90s. It epitomized everything I was feeling back then. I just stumbled across this acoustic version which you can't find anywhere because it was a radio studio performance to promote their upcoming gig, but Holy Effing Crap is it good.
i was a kid when this song came out but i have good memories of jamming out with my dad to the good rock music from the 90s come the early 2000s i started playing guitar for 90 cover bands and got good at it and got discovered as a good stagehand and left home at 16 to go on the road setting up for concerts and did that for 10 years sad thing is my career cost me 2 marriages now im out because my health has stopped me from working since seizures are not a good thing when working on stages so now i just live life living in the country and starting life over and its been going good but this is one of my favorite bands and songs brings back some good memories of my childhood and also sad times of my 2 marriages but life goes on and by living by that im in a new relationship that is so far the best ive had.
My dad passed away a little over a year ago. We never had the best relationship and he left me countless times but he was always there when I needed someone to be my rock. He was my other half. He was the only one that understand why I am the way I am and now he's gone. He passed away when I was 17. He will never watch me in my cap and gown. He will never walk me down the isle. He will never meet his grandchildren. 02/29/16 was the day everything changed.
Sorry for your painful loss. I only hope I'm a rock for my own daughter and not a fleeting glimpse of a person she needs. This song always hits close to home and Candlebox is one of the greats in my book. May you find greener pastures as time heals all
