I had to take a break after all that maintenance Jeff 😂😂😂. Great video, maintenance is the life of your vehicle I think you will get 300,000 miles out of it easily. Have a good one 👍😎✌️
Yep, I hear you Kevin! Watching paint dry can be more exciting sometimes! We took a break after this one and went on a vacation too! I hope she makes 300,000 too. The rebuilds are $11k -$18k at a local reputable diesel shop here! Thanks for watching!
Hey Jeff cool video, that’s a cool 2500 Duramax , I bought a 2023 Duramax it has 5k on it now, I just started getting the change oil message so when I get home from fishing I will let the dealer do the service because my park assist software was on back order and now it is there ready to be installed , I had 140k on my 2001 Tahoe when I got the GMC , I might not ever wear the Duramax out, lol, talk to you soon buddy😀😀
Awesome Mike! I may be in the market for a newer Duramax 4x4 soon. I am not sure if I will go brand new or a used 3-5 year old truck yet. I may keep this one at the other house as a tow vehicle for the boat. We'll see how that goes. Thanks for watching and talk to you soon!
Yep, I had had that one for awhile and bought 2 new containers. I figured with the possibility of contamination, it was past its prime. Thanks for watching Ary!
Thanks Don! The water seaparator has mixed reviews. It is an electric sensor that says water in the fuel but, doesn't fix it. Every time I have removed it to put on the new filter, I have never seen water in it. Water in the fuel can happen but, I change the fuel filter every other oil change (5k on the oil and 10k on the fuel) as well as use reputable local gas stations that dip their tanks and check for water regularly. On this filter, the water would sink to the bottom and I would change the filter before it would ever be a problem. Many use a lift pumps to bybass this sensor or many have zip tied the sensor off to the side like I did. One guy has over 300k trouble free miles with the sensor off of his. I will be watching mine closely. Tha ks for watching and have a great week!
Now what I'm finding on my 08 is the 5-volt wiring is getting pretty brittle. The plastic conduit is now like potato chips from the under-hood heat. For those that don't know, all your control features of your Duramax is 5 volts not 12.
I didn't know that...interesting Randy! My wiring harnesses are getting brittle too. That engine heat really kills the wiring! I should replace the outer plastic casing on my wiring sometime in the future. Thanks for watching!
Hahaha! That's a good one Mike! I know a guy who never did maintenance and drove his straight to the junkyard. He literally ran it into the ground. Thanks for watching!
My 08 has 260k and just did a transmission but I'm going to need more than 300k out of this old gal because there is no way I can afford a new one at $80K .
I hear you Randy! That is exactly how I feel! I wished I had owned mine all along because I don't know how it was treated prior to the 170,000 before I bought it. The new ones aren't cheap! What's crazy is that the used trucks out there are almost as much as new ones! I also like not having to add DEF to mine! Thanks for watching and take care!
Keep it on the road Jeff!
Thanks Rick! Hopefully, the truck will play along with that plan! Thanks for watching!
Nice job, they will run a long time when maintained. 💯🆒
Thank you Steve! That is the gospel truth, that's for sure! Thanks for watching and I hope you are doing well! Take care!

Way to keep up on the service! Isn't that water separator pretty important on your diesel engine? Have a good one Buddy

What is a maintenance day? As a Ford owner I'm unfamiliar with this! 😂😂😂

300,000 lol that’s when it starts breaking in
Yep, I sure hope so! Thanks for watching!
