This guy looks like he belongs in a band like Death or Obituary but plays like he hangs out with Victor Wooten. I'm totally impressed with his playing and this pedal.
Hey Gregor, sounds like this version is doing a better job at catching peaks than the previous one, do you agree ? Thanks for the killer demo as usual 🔥
There has never been anything wrong with the traditional format of showing a couple of bars being played with an effect OFF then switching the pedal ON for immediate comparison between the two.
The AMPEG Opto Comp is a nice optical compressor also for 99€ it's a bargain. I'm using the Ampeg at home, on stage, in a 19" rack, still using a dBx 160A I bought at Musicstore while they were still in town near the dome ! A long time ago but it's working great.
the eq shifting is not exactly what i would look for in a compressor but I guess if you wanted a really simple setup this pedal with a classic bass and an old tube amp would probably be good enough for a lot of people.
So excited to hear they've added a mids control and a 3rd tilt EQ frequency! I have an older BCP-1 and, while it's great, you kinda "get what you get and you don't get upset". I anticipate this new version having a bit more versatility than the original Bass Comp.
I have the BCP1 Jnr. The last one they made before they got taken over. Is this new version still max compression of approx 3:1 ratio? And also do you think the mid control is helpful? I also play Rickenbacker with optima 4099 flats. And lastly, is it an improvement over the BCP1 Jnr?
Hey Gregor, given that youtube compresses the sound anyway and it's really hard to demo a compressor on this platform, maybe it would be a good idea to show what it does by turning it off and on while playing? I think that would help with showcasing the qualities of this type of pedals :)
Audio compression and the kind of compression UA-cam does have nothing to do with each other. Video compression is there to turn a 2GB video into a 30MB file. But that doesn't change the dynamic spectrum of the sound
What amp is being used with the rickenbacker? Please let me know- that bass with those strings and pedal are amazing- I would love to know what amp or even better if it’s di

imho he looks like a Roadie who plays better than the artist he is working for :-)
I have the old Bass comp Jr. With only the 250/900 switch and no mids. Love it.
Me too. Do you think this new one would be an upgrade?
That Ric is beautiful!!!! Glad to see this pedal in a smaller format with the top jacks. Thanks for the vid
Hello from Vancouver, BC Canada 🇨🇦 I love Bass The World , and I'm glad the Diamond Bass is back 😀👍

Exactly! How are you supposed to know what is bass or pedal? 🤔🤷♂️
There is nothing wrong with 3:15 , you mean?!

Oh yeah nice story…… not sure why you brought up an ampeg brand compressor on a video for another compressor brand.

I subbed just for the host's accent. Magical!

Such a great compressor! Glad they’re coming back 👏👏👏

still happy with mine!
I owned the big pedal. The best compressor out there. Dont know why i sold it. This is even better with the "Markbass vpf and vpl" filter in it

Glad you turned the knobs.
How does it compare to the Lusithand Alma?
Hey Gregor
do you like the diamond more than the pulp n peel? what are the differences?
Thaks for the great review!
The Pulp' n Peel adds saturation and a certain character. This one here is rather neutral
Love Diamond pedals. The Fireburst fuzz is a great bass pedal.
That Rickenbacker sounds GOOD!
Gregor, please tell us if the EQ controls the sound before the optical circut or after?
EQ is post compression
Thank you! Is this 9 volt or 18 volt?
I believe it can take anything from 9 to 18
Liebe freunden! The link in thomann is wrong. Links to some mini amp instead
es ist noch nicht in Deutschland oder?
None of the links are for the correct product. How much is it?
Expensive.. £250
I think the links don't relate to the good page ...
I've updated the links now. The pedal just went online in these stores
Please try the seymour duncan boost pedal with this. It is an amazing warming up tool. Besides being a boost.
Just shut up and take my money!!
Still without LED meter.. skip!
Listen. Why look at sound?
@@HPur have some visual is helpful for me. Everyone has their own preference on things.
I have a compressor with like 10 LED meters, and at the end of the day I still just use my ears to find out where I like the knobs to be.
You never show what it sounds like without the compressor. Whats the point of the video then ?
Maybe if you watch the whole video, instead of just chiming in with something that you are completely incorrect about
@@swiftymcgarnagle4567 Apparently then you did not watch it.
realy not so billig this Ding
If das ding is too expensive for you, buy something cheaper there’s a big market out there
