Legit, after fixing bugs, they should hire modders to add official mods or at least some kinda browser and Steam Workshop. It would be great to be able to play Dark Times, Legacy, etc through the game itself, loading instances.
I'm tired of the excuses and being told we can't have what is easily doable. The legal reasons just don't make sense. It's time for a change, it's time for us to have mods on consoles. If the devs cannot give us what we want, we should resort to other means.
@Barrobroadcastmaster you can mod on console. Sure. But, you'd have to suffer the consequences since Nintendo, Xbox, and Playstation don't want modded consoles. The problem that I can think of is that this could potentially make people able to easily pirate games if they just allowed it to happen but I'm sure we don't know why exactly they don't want us to. I'd recommend getting a steam deck if you want the comfort of gaming on console with mods. I don't even have a steam deck but it's really the only option which sucks

They aren't going to do any of that since this would cost them money, which they didn't make very much of, especially on steam where everyone refunded the game.

The sad thing is those networking/netcode problems will never be fixed, way to extensive of an undertaking for them to fix that now especially with players already abandoning this game. Only 1 server on PS5 is crazy. They had 1 job man, rip this game.
As I said when this game released - Ban Aspyr from creating remasters of any kind, forever. I stand by my opinion, forever.
It's a port, and they've made good Star Wars ports before. Why not give them a chance to make a better port? Is one bad port enough to damn a game dev company?

I have an Xbox One S...
I have the orginal Battlefront I (2004) and Battlefront II (2005) - with all the original Xbox exclusive DLCs and with the 2018 graphical enhancements when the games were made backwards compatible in the Xbox digital store. They run smoothly and NO BUGS, GLITCHES or ISSUES (and all cutscenes, award weapons and controller options are all there & the hit detection works FLAWLESSLY). Also both games are still in the Xbox digital store for under $10 US dollars each (and they both have much smaller file sizes as well).
I also pre-ordered the Battlefront Classic Collection (with the 2 discounts, early bird and pre-owner - which put the total cost for me just under $29 US dollars prior to release...I know, it was a big mistake to have bought it at all, which I regret and sadly Xbox doesn't issue refunds). We all know the collection was a dumpster fire upon release. It was not much fun to play on both online multiplayer & offline single player for consoles (in my case Xbox), with all the bugs, glitches and problems...Now the 1st patch/update (for Xbox) it did fix some things but a lot is still left unfixed unfortunately...PLUS with the patch/update it made even new bugs, new glitches and new other issues that weren't there before. WTH? Ughhhhhhh. It's still all dumpster fire in my opinion. 🔥😫🤦
My advice, just pick up the orginals instead. At least they still work very very well IMO. Peace ✌️

You can get a refund but only within the first two weeks of purchase. And you have to have a low playtime on the game I believe.

I'm playing on Switch...and After the update I think I lost my bonuses from Legendary Status...I have to actually re-earn them in each map now...
Not to mention I also have to reenter the invincibility cheat every time the map changes
You didn't lose them, it's a bug where you just don't initially spawn with them, but after getting them the first time, they're with you for the rest of the game.
They need to just add a cheat menu for both games where you can turn them on or off.

They would need to do some serious work fixing the game, and then release it at either free or heavily discounted to get all of us who refunded to have any kind of good will again, if that's even possible. I've been loving playing '05 battlefront and ea battlefront 2 since refunding the classic collection.

Well there's already reward weapons... Unless you mean they removed those ones. (Haven't played the port)

Question: do they still have the “lock-on” targeting feature on Ground Battles like they used to? I remember that feature giving an insane amount of aim assist on the lock-on target on the ground, and it was painful to try to hit anything without it on PS2 lol.

I’m honestly just Glad that you can get the Platinum Trophy offline. I used to play this game on my PS2 so I’m kinda used to playing this game offline only. I will admit I am kinda disappointed that I won’t be able to enjoy this game offline, but I at least have a chance to Platinum a game from my childhood, and that’s good enough for now. I do hope that Aspyr does fix this game and hopefully they could hire modders to help add more content

@@RaikenXion you can, but there are 6 trophies that you will need to grind, and 2 out of those 6 are really boring to grind. I highly recommend getting “Unlock Remote Rocket Launcher” and “Unlock the vehicle Regen Bonus” first, so you get the 2 worst trophies out the way. The other 4 trophies you need to grind aren’t as bad as long as you take your time

Switch seems to be the only platform where the game is playable.
Probably most likely because Switch is old tech, so the coding can run it more easier.
I absolutely played online on my PS2. Along with SOCOM II it was my first online gaming experience.
Literally I’m praying when they fix all the issues they continue to support the game and of course add cross play remove the region lock maybe add some kind of friends list so you can join friends etc and who knows slowly add custom servers that allow consoles and PC to download mods / custom content
Got a really nasty one. I was playing galactic conquest. I was using the hero bonus on utapau. I took control of the Jedi and the entire thing crashed. Freeze, green screen, and my entire ps5 turns off by itself and won’t turn on for a few minutes. I had a mini panic attack because I thought my system was bricked

I have all the medals at Legendary and my Awards weapons are completely broken. I also didn't get the Marshal Commander achievement. Hoping they fix all this soon.
How do you mean broken? I don't have the classic collection but if it works anything like the originals then after getting the medals to legendary status you need to get the award associated with the weapon once per round to have it for the rest of the match. Get the award and then simply swap to secondary then back to primary. If that's not happening for you then I Apologize for rambling haha.
The thing that upsets me the most is that the marshal commander achievement won’t unlock for me. I’ve got every other achievement in the game but that one is broken. I really hope it’s fixed one day so I can 100% the game
I bought the GOG version of battlefront 2 a few years ago. Don’t need the classic collection because of that and it was waaaaaay less cost than the classic collection.
I thought about pre ordeing this before it came out, but i figured it was a good idea to wait. I had such high hopes for this to be good and ive been really hoping that the patches woulf fix things....i guess its not meant to be. It could have been such a success. Guess ill keep play bf 2017.

How do the single player/offline modes hold up?
From what people say the singleplayer and instant actions are all fine. I'd go so far as to say that just like in the original BF2 if you host the session you will have a much more stable connection that everyone else. It's just disappointing that that basically re-released these games with little to no changes made and marketed them like "It's the same games but with better multiplayer". If you're getting it for singleplayer i'd still recommend the originals since they are only a couple GB in storage where this is so much more. If you're getting it because it's the only release for the switch or your preferred console then that's understandable.

I played the Battlefront I from this Battlefront Classic Collection and the online seemed to be improved
The online is much better with the remaster compared to the PS2 online, although I don't think most of the people watching this were old enough to wrap their head around playing a PS2 online back in 2005.

Download the BFIII legacy mod and bf2 remastered and join the BFIII legacy servers. Theres an US and EU server.

Bro I spent time grinding the awards to get the legendary weapons permanently, and before the update it was working fine. After the update, I no longer get those weapons.
That might be a hot take but i only had one issue playing online and that was this roller coaster camera the rest was normal for me
I don't know man, PS4 has been pretty solid so far after the update, and I have no issues finding rooms in multiplayer. Only issue I found was after death the camera spins fast, but that's it.

I will just keep playing it single player/ split screen. Just how I did back in the day. It’s still genuine fun, but the draw was multiplayer.. but I’ll be okay without it.

It’s honestly playing super good on Xbox One S I’ve been playing the past few days and it’s been solid and way better. I went from playing where I was getting a max of 15 kills because everything was so god awfully laggy but now I’ve been hitting 50-100 plus just using assault class because I can actually land my shots.
I'm playing Battlefront 2 (2017) on PS and i seen so many new players. Y'all think this got to do something with the classic collection release and some guys got hyped up and bought it or was i just lucky.

The smart thing that I would do is look at the reviews first before buying.
I live in Washington State and most of the servers I find on the Xbox side of things usually start at around 105 ping (give or take a couple). However even with this my game still plays almost identically to yours. Hit reg. is attrocious and you’re rubberbanding around the maps like a cat with the zoomies. If the lower numbers of the “bad ping range” are being affected similarly if not identically to ping numbers twice and three times as large, what’s the point of having servers to begin with? I’m on the same page as other people who feel they’ve wasted their money, except I got my copy as a gift. So I feel horrible for having potentially wasted THEIR money instead which is arguably worse 😅
I live in the United States the games are fine. The problem is since there wasnt any matchmaking added you pop into a game that ends in 2 minutes.

Unfortunately just like Asspyrs port of jedi academy, the community will most likely have to step in to fix things. The jedi academy community broke the port down and eventually added things like private servers and cross platform online between ps4/ps5 and switch. So some hope remains for this game.

I just played a game on Xbox and I found quite a few servers but almost all entirely empty besides one with about 40 people. Lowest ping was that same server and it was around 50. Respawning was wacky, the 5 second timer would reset to 15 seconds if the person in watching waiting died lol. Idk how they screwed this game up as much as they did
I'm thankful that I knew this released was going to be bad and kept the originals installed...
