For dual wield I highly recommend constantly attacking and parrying. I was able to get a really good flow doing that and honestly it made that style a lot easier to use
Technicaly each stance uses a base form. Single blade is a shi cho (1) mixed with ataru (4), lightstaff uses pure niman(6), double bladed is also a niman style with emphasis on ataru, blaster uses makashi (2), crossguard uses pure shien (5). There are quite a lot of styles, didnt notice form 3 or 7 anywhere tho
@@andesmint3664 form 7 would require a deeper dive into the Dark side (lorewise a bit early for Cal in survivor), form 3 is what Obi wan started using after Qui Gon died. Its too defensive and would just draw out combat.
Man Jedi survivor is a huge step up from fallen order, which is saying a lot because fallen order is one of my favorite Star wars games in a long while. @@SAGERUNE oh certainly, I just feel crossguard is most notable due to have much quicker they are compared to the otherwise slow attacks of the crossguard.
For the next game i really hope they have a "stance wheel" similar to a weapon wheel that way we arent restricted to 2 stances at one time. I think it would be cool to be able to go from single blade to double blade to duel all in one boss fight or something
I've mixed feelings about this. In one hand you have more freedom to explore and combine the movesets for crazy spectacular combos. In the other hand it's less strategic, because you have always everything, instead of choosing the best setup for the situation
@@riccardobortolin4120 you have a point. however, I personally would rather have that extra freedom. I really like using the double bladed stance against stormtroopers because they have a lot of blasters and the double bladed stance is extremely effective against those. Sometimes I don't have it equipped going into a confrontation with Imperials, which makes that specific encounter more frustrating. I also just really like all the stances, and I'd love a way to easily switch between all of them.
Honestly, I'd just take being able to switch out stances from the pause menu instead of needing a meditation circle. I noticed a lot in some story segments, like that first shattered moon visit, or the observatory, that I just didn't have the right tools for the job, but I had no idea where the next save point was and I didn't want to go all the way back.
I’m using duel wield and double bladed. Love the fast paced action the dual wield grants and being able to cancel out of attacks is a huge plus. Then I switch over to double bladed for when dealing with large groups of weaker enemies or if I need that auto deflection. Plus it’s cool just seeing Cal take apart and put together the lightsaber parts seamlessly in combat.
Exactly what I’ve done. Unlocked all stances but personally DW & DB feels the best. If I was ever in SW universe I would definitely use a combo of DB&DW.
I think double bladed is by far my favourite, when you figure out the proper way to use the hold square attacks makes it feel so much better, and the constant blaster reflection is always useful.its also super useful against horses of smaller enemies being able to just spin randomly killing everything
Reflecting every blaster bolt back at the minigun stormtroopers is probably the most satisfying thing in the games lol. Which is why double bladed is superior.
I've been using Dual Wield and Blaster, which I feel like they've been working really well together. When I'm fighting a lot of enemies I use Dual Wield and the force, and when I'm fighting a small group I use the blaster stance to deal extra damage when I'm not next to the enemies.
What I normally do is I'll take Blaster and damage one of the stronger enemies, almost to the point of death if not to death, and then I go in and use dual wield for the rest of the fight.
This is my setup. I was running with single saber and blaster because I had invested a bunch of points in single techniques. I felt like a lightsaber hit dealt more damage when in the blaster stance.
I found this combo was great on the hardest bosses. Crossguard is great for all the segments where you must block a ton and get limited openings. Dual for the segments where you can dodge one or Teo thinks then just wail on them
I really like the Crossguard and Blaster stance together, I originally played with Dual wielded and Cross guard but when I really learned how to play the cross guard I felt I didn’t need another main saber stance. The cross guard is slow but when you learn how to really use it it’s really good IMO
Yeah I've been considering switching off of dual-blade. I barely use it anymore, it was mostly there initially to deflect heavy gunner and battle droid blaster bolts or to cut down lots of small enemies. The more I get used to cross though, the less I use dual-blade, especially with the charged deflects that are, honestly, better against rollyboys and battledroids IMO. So I've bee considering what to replace it with, and Blaster sounds fun to me. It's very different from anything else, so it'd be fun to play with.
I really like the saber moveset with the blaster stance. It kind of feels like you are a fencer with quick stabs and thrusts. The Blaster itself is abit wonky but it's also quite cool to parry with it and blow enemies back aswell as the quickdraw move.
I really liked blaster stance. It's great to get a quick stab in after a perfect dodge, and the charged shot is really helpful to interrupt attacks, especially for a certain amphibian boss.
Also despite being the stance with the lowest power it SHREDS life bars for both single enemies and bosses like paper once you get into the rhythm of alternating between stabs and shots.
I’m actually quite impressed with the stances - usually in games I hate this type of thing, there’s an obvious best stance and the rest are just for fun, but in this there’s actual pros and cons to each.
Fun fact about the way Cal dual-wields: his secondary saber blade is shorter than his primary one, as the secondary blade is what's called a Shoto saber. A lot of dual-wielding saber users have a Shoto saber as their secondary weapon (most notably Ahsoka Tano, and Luke Skywalker in the old post-RotJ comics).
My favorite is the double-bladed haha. It mows down ranged enemies and I love the running attack where he slides on the ground while spinning and the forward spinning lunge.
I've been using the Crossguard and Dual Wield stance, it's a fantastic combination to get that extra range and defense when dual wield doesn't hold up.
I actually love the cross guard… I had that and the dual wield the whole time I played the story. It was so powerful I loved it. I’d switch styles depending on the situation, but I found myself wanting to pack more of a punch quite often so the two blades would unite and become the cross guard then I could slam it through the enemies… so cool! Love watching the enemies get cut in half or some limbs flying off. Awesome game!
Top notch stances all of them. Though I prefer dual and double. One thing I wish for, possibly in an update etc, is that we can have separate lightsaber colors for each of the two sabers. For example I would love orange and purple when dual wielding. Would be quite the lightshow!
i wasnt expecting to but i've honestly been in love with the cross guard stance! the slowness was upsetting at first, but it honestly made boss battles a lot easier but still fun. i like to pair it with either doubleblade or dual blade to swap between taking on large crowds to a single beast/boss/high health character
Dual Wield is the MOST defensive AND offensive stance in the game. It's the best. With dual wield, you have a block cancel so you can attack and parry without worry of being locked in an animation. Not only that, but for unblockable attacks you can get REALLY good at blocking and then quickly jumping or dodging out of the way. Block for the animation cancel, jump or dodge for avoiding the attack. I got really good with this and trivialized every fight. I could attack at high speeds, parry everything, and then perfect dodge just in time to avoid every red attack. I rarely got hit.
the blaster stance reminds me so much of the game Hyper Light Drifter, which uses the sword/gun combo as your bread and butter when you start the game. All of the stanes here look really well fleshed out, and I appreciate that you acknowledge the strengths and weaknesses of each stance, instead of taking a lazy route. really great guide here
Not sure where, but I heard you are limited to two stances at a time. Once I heard that I decided I would use crossguard and blaster. Blaster stance is something I've always loved the idea of; very pirate-y.
Double blade is the only way on jedi grandmaster. It's very fast so you land 3 hit in 1 basic attack. Ridiculously good in boss fights where you have time to land only 1 attack. And in open world you NEED that auto deflection and massive aoe potential.
Pull all the enemies into you, then just fling it around you. It's such a powerful option for groups. I use that with crossguard. I honestly wanted to like dual wielding, but the range is just so bad on it.
@@Forestgravy90 i mean like this game they just ported a bunch of stuff over (like single blade swing pattern etc) then added a shit ton on top of it, i dont think many people would complain if they did that again but this time add more styles, even if its as simple as changing his base attacks itd be more than enough, they seem to want to make each game give you everything from the past one PLUS new stuff which is the one thing i hated about the arkham games, i didnt want to have to do shit to get a remote electric device 4 different times lmao they legit make you have to go to the gcpd to get a gadget youve used 3 times already like bruh just give it to me off the start
I originally thought crossguard was gonna suck but it’s turned out to be one of my favorites. I already new I’d be maining the blast stance so right now I’m using crossguard and Blaster Stance.
literally opposite for me, i was planning to main cross guard but it’s just kind of boring to play with. it would be nice if it didnt have end-lag so i can actually parry after attacking. every other stance is more entertaining and rewarding, and i usually go with heavy weapons in rpg games.
I'm really enjoying the dual-wield stance so far, so it's one of the two that I'll be using the most. Once I get the blaster and crossguard stances, I'll see which one feels better as my second choice.
I use Blaster and double blade! The combo is legit! I love the blaster stance, it’s amazing! And then the double blade helps when you have a large group of enemies! This game has been amazing! Im 35% done with the game and I am impressed!
Single blade is definitely one of my favorites, but for now I'm using blaster and crossguard to see how much I like them since I just got them. I've been able to do some cool combos with switching between them as well, and I love the crossguard saber throw. I found dual wield to be very useful against animals and double bladed to be good for groups of humanoids. Single and blaster have been my favorites to use against bosses. I haven't had a chance to really use the crossguard against a difficult boss yet but I killed a few groups of raiders with it last night and got a good feel for the timing
Currently using blaster stance and crossguard stance, it’s honestly really fun, especially the blaster stance I use the blaster for getting ranged enemies quicker and getting basic droids and troopers down without much of a risk, I also use the crossguard to deal large damage as a follow up to the blaster stance, it’s helpful against the large droids with electro staffs and hammers, the combo gives a challenge but it works really good when you know how to use both of them correctly
Double bladed is sooo much fun! While I miss the ability to switch stances like in F O, the new fluidity and mobility is really fun. I fluctuate between it and dual wielding, which is so much fun!
I finished the entire game with the cross and staff lightsaber. No need for more. Before getting the cross form I did Dual and Staff. I new game plus the blaster is 1-shot kill in most of the time (very realistic)
Here are some ideas for lightsaber forms/stances that would be cool for the next game: 1. Dooku lightsaber (basically the blaster stance without the blaster) 2.Crossguard like Kylo Ren, fast and agile 3. Backwards Starkiller lightsaber
The double saber has the weakest damage but to me it feels the strongest because those combos are so fluid and end up stunning groups of enemies so easily, you end up getting so many more uninterrupted hits in. Even for bosses. It wouldn't surprise me if it gets nerfed in an upcoming patch to "bring it in line with its purpose" or something.
The double bladed stance really shines when it comes to multiple enemy encounters. You can just dance around them swinging and hitting multiple enemies at once, from different angles. That and the added fluidity, throws and acrobatic moves makes it one of my favourite stances in the game. But it does take some time to get used to.
I’ve just started the game but using Duel wield and Double has been a lot of fun so far (I’ve been switching back and forth mid combat breaking the stamina then going ham with the double blade) but I’m hyped to try the others
Tbh I think players are shooting themselves in the foot by not having that stance equipped at all times. There are so many blaster enemies, and none of the other stances deal with them like double bladed does. Plus the attacks are extremely good when you're surrounded. Use the stasis ability to slow and then use double heavy attack. Destroys most everything.
@TA-hf6si 😂 well I was pretty biased for the double bladed until recently. It's actually harder to deal with droidekas with the double bladed vs the crossguard. With double bladed you will parry every bolt and use up all your stamina really quickly, whereas with crossguard you will be able to deflect a couple bolts back, making them more powerful thanks to the skill tree, and actually destroy them with only 4 powered up bolts on grandmaster. For groups of B1 droids a strong force push is arguably more effective than deflect all their blaster shots with double bladed, since they die no matter what from howling push, which also has a wide aoe so you kill a lot in on move. Now imo it's actually better to use crossguard with blaster stance.
If you’re in a boss fight with the dual wield, you can throw one and then use the dash attack with your remaining lightsaber to get up close and get more attacks in before you get the one you threw back.
I currently use the crossguard against more powerful enemies (bc parrying with this thing eats the enemies stamina for breakfast) And the blaster stance for enemy groups, (its especially fun with the splitting charge shot) P.s. with the crossguard you can two hit the shields of shielded stormtroopers, wich is awesome
With the right built or with a power attack you cut a shield trooper shield in half in the first hit XD But yes, I use Cross with the stamina break trait and it is oppressive. Love it.
For those who want to speedrun the video, here are timestamps that review shortly review each saber stance: 8:33 double bladed saber 8:51 Kylo ren saber stance 9:18 The blaster stance 9:45 single bladed saber 10:06 2 hands. 2 sabers
I've been using the double bladed and cross guard stances together. At first I was just using them situationally, double bladed for large groups or for big monsters that don't parry, and cross guard for any major melee encounters (usually 1v1s)... but then I discovered how seemless the transition from one stance to another is. Now I'm using either stance to create and capitalize on openings and it's a blast.
Don’t put too many points into any stance until you’ve leveled up your survival and Force trees. You don’t *need* any of the stances’ skills to be a beast or to eff around with them until you know what your go-to’s are. Focus on health and Force for a good while - by the time they’re maxxed, you’ll know just where you want your stance points. And if you grind enough, you can max out every tree before the story’s done, so there’s no pressure.
the perfect parrying mechanic with blaster stance really made the stance for me. being able to blast enemies back then use the hold square to fly at them is a fantastic combo. I thought Id like the double bladed or dual wield the most but after learning how smooth the gameplay can be with blaster saber its easily my favorite. you have to mix in the blaster shots with the saber attacks for it to feel smooth and once you do it well you can attack and instantly blaster parry them within milliseconds of using a saber strike. the combat in this game is a 20/10
My rankings. 5. Crossguard. I feel like crossguard can be good the speed didn't really bother me but i feel like if you go for a blow you may hit them but in that time 6 other enemies have shot you. 4. single blade. Although its balanced i just found it kind of boring. 3. Blaster. This is unique but i didn't like having ammo imo it should of had infinite ammo or been its own weapon. 2. Double-bladed. i enjoy this one because i feel like its the best for any enemies with blasters. (Multifold reflections is a game-changer) and i loved looking like an inquisitor with how fluent it was. 1. Dual wield. Its got to be dual wield. Its the most fun and thats why video games exist, FUN. I love being able to destroy enemies and just go around slicing people up. Dual wield (Once i unlocked it) was the only one i always had equipped for the entire game.
Currently using single and dual wield stances, I think they compliment each other so well! Going to try the crossguard stance when I unlock it but I agree that it looks very slow
It is slow, but it's manageable. I've been using it as my main stance and it is extremely fun. You break enemies' guards so much more quickly. The trick is to parry with it. Hacking and slashing could spell your demise.
Same here. I think the single blade does more or less the same of the crossguard. less damage per hit, but as it runs at a faster pace it's like the same. Idem for defense, the crossguard is superior but too slow, mainly for some bosses, imo. Cheers
I’ve got all the stances now and wow crossguard takes some serious skill to use lol, I can’t decide whether I like it or not! Maybe I will keep practicing with it and upgrade some of the skills
I use dual and staff, dual for single target enemies and staff for groups. I love using the force move that drags everyone to you and then staff heavy attack, and dual on bosses is super good if you know how to parry. If not Good luck cause you will get punished.
It's absolutely atrocious, actually. 480p, terrible framerates and frame-pacing, janky movement combat and animations, he moves looking like his pants are full of 💩
Great Video! Thank You for all The Tips! My Favorite Stance is Currently The Dual Wield, I'm just having so Much Fun With it and also The Force Attack where Cal blocks anything coming at Him is just Insane!
I feel like cross-guard stance is best as a secondary. It's devestating but it needs to be used more carefully, so i just quickly switch into it for high damage after i break an opponent's guard or even when theur guard is full since it reduces a lot of it upon attacking and parrying so it's very much powerful if you don't overuse it all at once and it's worth the damage
I've been using crossguard and double blade. The crossguard is very good for fighting all types of enemies, and double bladed is just very good for fighting entire groups of enemies, especially the heavy attack with the blade flying around you.
Currently I’m using double bladed and blaster stances. They component each other pretty well and is a great combo. Double bladed could also probably be swapped for dual wield and it would still work great
My primary form is blaster, I just love how fast you can move with it, especially the running slash, the range of the blade, and the blaster itself is helpful especially whenever you unlock the explosive charged shot you can get from the bounties. I also enjoy being able to easily take out week ranged enemies with a quick shot. The second stance I carry is the cross-guard stance, it’s very powerful against armored enemies, especially whenever you jump swing.
The blaster stance was the most unwieldy feeling at first but once you get cooking with it, especially against groups, hooooo boy is it cool. The blaster counter is the most satisfying move in the game imo
I’ve paired dual wield and cross guard. I’ve loved dual wield from the beginning, but it took a second for me to come around on cross guard. But now, I’ve paired the fastest, most agile style with the slowest, most powerful style. Multiple times I’ve been in a fight and I begin with duel wield to use the parry function as I learn attacks, throw my light sabers for some range, and deal a bunch of combos. Then, when I’ve got an enemy at half health and I’ve learned their skills, cross guard comes out to finish the job. It’s a fantastic combination.
Dual Stance by far! 😂 Just like to swirl through enemies like Ahsoka, and the upgrades are really good. But you have to upgrade the force abilities at the same time to have enough for the force moves. Second stance is Double Blade. I think it is currently the best for crowds.
The Darth Maul in all of us know which stance is best... To ne its the best all around. Got good defense especially against blaster attacks. Its by far the best against grouos of enemies which you come across alot of in this game. Definitely tied for the fastest along with dual wield when going at full speed. Ive learned to only strike initially a couple strikes then wait for their attack and then after parrying unleash hell on them. Almost done with my first playthrough and Ive rocked Dual blade and Blaster stances all the way through. New game + prolly go with Starkiller & Crossguard just to switch it up. Crossguard looks like it can be real nasty if utilized correctly. Especially against bosses. Starkiller will be fun just cus it reminds me of The Force Unleashed. Refardless of your stance choice I think we can all agree this is a great game! Some DLC would he great as well.
Mine were dual, cross, single, double, and blaster. After unlocking all the stances I settled on dual/cross for my two forms. Breaking an enemy's shield with dual and then switching to cross while they're staggered worked wonders for me and got even better when I got the perk that ups damage right after switching stances.
I found double blade to be so very useful specially for combats with a lot of blasters you can take so much health froma couple of well timed parries and if you attack holding square instead of just hitting it does decent damage
My number one is blaster by a longshot simply because of point blank shot. Its literally the bloodborne gun parry, IT'S LITERALLY THE BLOODBORNE GUN PARRY!
I finished the game with dual wielding and blaster stance. I especially loved using the point blank technique to parry attacks. That slow motion effect was incredibly satisfying
Thanks for this! It'll help a bunch to know how to angle my investment of skill points at learning when I start. I'd also love to see a force power video and maybe a things you should know before you start video if you have enough for that yet?
I started playing blaster stance and I can't switch off it. I love mixing the shots in-between attacks. It's good pressure and sometimes you get a lucky gun parry. The force attacks aren't very good though, but I like the hold square gap closer. It's also nice to have a ranged attack that doesn't depend on force. I'll switch to Crossguard for Charged Reflection every once in a while.
Crossguard took me a bit to get used to, but it ultimately played directly into how I play souls games anyway. You either time your strike to catch an enemy before they strike, or you wait and parry a combo to create an opening. It's the most defensive for a reason. You really need to get out of the habit of spam clicking your normal attack; you learn to click one at a time for each swing so that you can recognize incoming attacks to parry or dodge. Lastly, when you pair this with the guard break perk, you become an absolute monster against the tougher enemies that tend to have a lot of guard, and can use the force attack or charged normal attacks to break guards in 1 or 2 attacks. The damage is monstrous per hit, so once you get used to the stance properly, you can genuinely walk into the scariest enemies and laugh at their attacks while chopping them to pieces. It suffers the most against large groups, especially mixed melee/ranged groups. You don't really have the time to make the big crossguard swings between parrying melee and deflecting blaster bolts, you have to get creative with your dodging and parries. This is why I consider double-bladed to be an excellent pairing with Crossguard, because it does so well against ranged enemies and large groups to clear out the smaller fries and leave the big guys to finish off in crossguard.
Funny enough at first I wasn’t into it, but once I fully upgraded it and started to understand it I fell in love with the double bladed stance. See in the first game it just felt weird, but here in Survivor it can completely overwhelm enemies. The trick is that you need to commit to it’s moves, once you press a button, that’s it! Your not getting out of that attack until it’s over. So learning the timing for all the moves is hugee. I do agree though that it’s not ideal for boss fight’s specifically. So I just use my second stance when I get into boss battles.
One of my favourite abilities out of the blaster stance is the quickdraw. When on Xbox you press y just as an enemy attacks you and you whip out the blaster and send them flying. So satisfying 🤩😂
Personal take (background: I play in grandmaster difficulty and I die a lot) 1. Single blade: 3 combo strikes are crispy, and deal most damage within a time frame. Can deal with all the situations. The downside it's boring compared to other stances. 2. Double blade: best vs groups of small minions. 3. Dual wielding: After testing, it takes 20-25% more damage than the rest stances. It will have a higher rank if I don't die often. I got one shot by Rancor's light attack / chicken crush after 2 times HP upgrade. 4. Cross guard: Some sequel BS. Good vs single/elite enemies. Timing well, it will perform extremely well. It means you need to know the enemy's moveset, not good for the first (grandmaster) gameplay. When cornered by >3 small enemies, can't make a swing before you get staggered. 5. blaster: Not the jedi way.
I love duel wielding, but I actually found my go-to combo is Crossguard and Blaster. Blaster is great for both single blade combat and range, while crossguard is good for the more brutal enemies and for when I need the best defense
They are all really balanced. I’ve been mainly using the duel and double blades. Duel for melee foes and 1 on 1s and the double for crowds and defense. The cross guard is pretty damn strong too so I’m messing around with it to see what suits me best.
Double and dual has been my go-to. Double primary for its defensive ability and crowd damage(because of how often you get jumped in this game). And then dual for smaller crowds of enemies, boss fights, or multiple mini bosses because its the only stance that allows you to cancel a strike into a block parry dodge or jump. And then also I think thematically it makes a lot of sense. Cals master was a doubled bladed user, which i imagine he would pick up and use for most situations. And then dual sabers because of his unique kyber crystal, giving him his own personal touch. Making full use out of his lightsaber's ability to split and reconnect.
Blaster and duel wield i stuck with for a bit but went back to blaster and crossguard. Combo works so well together for any enemy in the game. Highly recommend trying all styles again as you level them up. Sometimes 1 new ability makes a stance just that much better.
Haven't had the chance to play the game yet, and when I first heard of the Crossguard Stance, I got really excited. That's usually the style of gameplay I use in Souls games: Grab a Ultra/Colossal Greatsword and go to town one shotting almost anything that crosses my way. But I gotta say: Looking from the gameplay, it does look a bit clunky to me, I think. I still need to give this a proper try and surely will do once I grab the game, but it might not be the best for in this particular game. I loved using the Double-Bladed sabre in Fallen Order, so it might end up being my main stance in this new game.
For dual wield I highly recommend constantly attacking and parrying. I was able to get a really good flow doing that and honestly it made that style a lot easier to use
Yeah, Dual Wield Party!

Exactly what I use. I use the blaster for those tougher bosses, until I learn their move set and when their health gets low. Then the dual!
When I unlocked the blaster stance I felt like battles were much easer and I also use dual saber and blaster
I’ve been using dual wield for attacking small groups of enemies and double-bladed for large groups
This is my setup. I was running with single saber and blaster because I had invested a bunch of points in single techniques. I felt like a lightsaber hit dealt more damage when in the blaster stance.
I’m a cross guard / dual user. Being able to switch was so helpful against the end boss. And the animations switching between the two looked so nice.
I found this combo was great on the hardest bosses. Crossguard is great for all the segments where you must block a ton and get limited openings. Dual for the segments where you can dodge one or Teo thinks then just wail on them
i liked this one because i had the speed of the dual wield but the power of cross guard
Yeah, you get the power from Crossguard, and the speed from the Dual
I really like the Crossguard and Blaster stance together, I originally played with Dual wielded and Cross guard but when I really learned how to play the cross guard I felt I didn’t need another main saber stance. The cross guard is slow but when you learn how to really use it it’s really good IMO
ah yes glad to see another pirate knight player
Same! I've been using the Crossguard stance and blaster stance. They just flow very well together I feel
It's very different from anything else, so it'd be fun to play with.
yeah, i sue the same. blaster for general combat, and crossgaurd for big one on ones
@@ianshreves1130 exactly the same!
I really like the saber moveset with the blaster stance. It kind of feels like you are a fencer with quick stabs and thrusts. The Blaster itself is abit wonky but it's also quite cool to parry with it and blow enemies back aswell as the quickdraw move.
I call it the pirate stance .
It's form 2, the one used by Dooku
The Bloodborne stance is real!
I am enjoying the cross guard and duel combo. Use duel to build up force, activate slow, cross the largest enemy
Sounds interesting. Might do a playthrougj like that
Doing the exact same thing.
Same I usually use cross guard when I learn the enemy’s rhythm
Using the same thing. Dual wield for quick attacks and smaller enemies, and cross guard for heavy blows to large enemies
Same its just more balanced and fun to use it like
I really liked blaster stance. It's great to get a quick stab in after a perfect dodge, and the charged shot is really helpful to interrupt attacks, especially for a certain amphibian boss.
Every person who used the blaster stance against oggdo be like:
Also despite being the stance with the lowest power it SHREDS life bars for both single enemies and bosses like paper once you get into the rhythm of alternating between stabs and shots.
The only thing I’m struggling with in terms of the blaster stance is that I forget parrying is a thing cuz I’m so focused on shooting.
A lot of dual-wielding saber users have a Shoto saber as their secondary weapon (most notably Ahsoka Tano, and Luke Skywalker in the old post-RotJ comics).
shoto is just short with a Japanese accent
It would be cool if another stance in the next game is a shoto saber only which is like super fast
My favorite is the double-bladed haha. It mows down ranged enemies and I love the running attack where he slides on the ground while spinning and the forward spinning lunge.
I’ve also been using Double blade it feels nasty
yah i love double bladed to
I use double and cross guard so I have something for groups and then something for stronger bosses.
Spoilers for about 9 hours into the game
I did the dagon gera fight way easier with double blade I just fount the constant pressure really useful
The helicopter spin Is fun too
I've been using the Crossguard and Dual Wield stance, it's a fantastic combination to get that extra range and defense when dual wield doesn't hold up.
I love the gross guard! I had double bladed as my other stance though for groups of enemies
All of the stanes here look really well fleshed out, and I appreciate that you acknowledge the strengths and weaknesses of each stance, instead of taking a lazy route. really great guide here
I've been loving the dual blade Saber style the most. The addition of a high damage single target combo makes it feel very versatile.
Double bladed at the bottom? My man has never had the opportunity to reflect 30 bolts all at once into a crowd of stormtroopers
Not sure where, but I heard you are limited to two stances at a time. Once I heard that I decided I would use crossguard and blaster. Blaster stance is something I've always loved the idea of; very pirate-y.
Same preference here. Blaster - makashi for quick flurries and range and crossguard - shien for pure hitting power and using Anakins stance.
I like it because of Kanan
Double blade is the only way on jedi grandmaster. It's very fast so you land 3 hit in 1 basic attack. Ridiculously good in boss fights where you have time to land only 1 attack. And in open world you NEED that auto deflection and massive aoe potential.
Completely agree. It’s also very satisfying sometimes
Pull all the enemies into you, then just fling it around you. It's such a powerful option for groups. I use that with crossguard. I honestly wanted to like dual wielding, but the range is just so bad on it.
Yep double bladed is absolutely essential.
Imagine in the next game, we could choose what lightsaber form we want, that'll be crazy
I think that'll be too much to deal with on top of everything else
That would be an amazing idea actually. Imagine having to use Trakata.
I've been wondering about that for a while now. Aren't there like 8 styles? That would be dope to break out the vopad
@@livederad6805 We’ve seen Trakata be used in this game so it’s not far fetched, hell, some attacks use it
I have a ps4 which makes me very sad because I can’t play this game
relatable
I still have an Xbox one but I'm hoping I can get a series x soon
Same
@@SimplyAGoober Same. Ir sucks more cause you could pre order it but then when you try to install it, it says it’s not compatible.
Bro same, but luckily for me, I have a pc and I saw that you can get it on steam
I originally thought crossguard was gonna suck but it’s turned out to be one of my favorites. I already new I’d be maining the blast stance so right now I’m using crossguard and Blaster Stance.
I felt the same with crossguard, but it also became one of my favorites 😂
literally opposite for me, i was planning to main cross guard but it’s just kind of boring to play with. it would be nice if it didnt have end-lag so i can actually parry after attacking. every other stance is more entertaining and rewarding, and i usually go with heavy weapons in rpg games.
@@jackweber3660 we're like 2 sides of the same coin 😄
I'm currently enjoying cross-guard and blaster. Ricochet blaster is very fun.
Same here .
Likewise
Same, combo can't be beat.
I use this as well, the blaster stance is fun trying to parry with y or triangle sending the enemies flying back
My personal favorite so far is the Double Bladed form. I love the acrobatics of it and the combos.
It would be cool if you could change your lightsaber stance like in the first game with a special move.
Here are some ideas for lightsaber forms/stances that would be cool for the next game:
1. Dooku lightsaber (basically the blaster stance without the blaster)
2.Crossguard like Kylo Ren, fast and agile
3. Backwards Starkiller lightsaber
If I ever get a system that can play it, I’d probably use blaster stance and dual stance
I found that pairing cross guard and dual wield is great. You get speed from dual and heavy damage from cross guard.
Double blade is heavily underrated imo, you can stack so many attacks so quickly once you fully upgrade it. Definitely my favorite stance.
Single blade users arise 🫡
The first second I got the crossguard I knew it was the best lightsaber stance for me.
really love the diverse weapon choice in this game, cant wait to play the game some more later today.
If you’re in a boss fight with the dual wield, you can throw one and then use the dash attack with your remaining lightsaber to get up close and get more attacks in before you get the one you threw back.
I currently use the crossguard against more powerful enemies (bc parrying with this thing eats the enemies stamina for breakfast)
And the blaster stance for enemy groups, (its especially fun with the splitting charge shot)
P.s. with the crossguard you can two hit the shields of shielded stormtroopers, wich is awesome
With the right built or with a power attack you cut a shield trooper shield in half in the first hit XD
But yes, I use Cross with the stamina break trait and it is oppressive. Love it.
I've been using dual sabers and crossguard. I love the super speed of the dual weild and the super damage of the crossguard.
For those who want to speedrun the video, here are timestamps that review shortly review each saber stance:
8:33 double bladed saber
8:51 Kylo ren saber stance
9:18 The blaster stance
9:45 single bladed saber
10:06 2 hands.
Fun fact if you kill a scout trooper with a shield you can force pull the shield and hold force pull then you can stop blaster bolts from hitting you
I am sure everyone knew that. You just wasted your time explaining that for nothing.
@@josephpayne2253 bro it’s just a fact that you can do that
@@josephpayne2253 I didn’t know that actually
Don’t put too many points into any stance until you’ve leveled up your survival and Force trees. You don’t *need* any of the stances’ skills to be a beast or to eff around with them until you know what your go-to’s are.
Focus on health and Force for a good while - by the time they’re maxxed, you’ll know just where you want your stance points.
And if you grind enough, you can max out every tree before the story’s done, so there’s no pressure.
I used the crossguard. Was absolutely devastating! Boss fights were over very quickly.
the perfect parrying mechanic with blaster stance really made the stance for me. being able to blast enemies back then use the hold square to fly at them is a fantastic combo. I thought Id like the double bladed or dual wield the most but after learning how smooth the gameplay can be with blaster saber its easily my favorite. you have to mix in the blaster shots with the saber attacks for it to feel smooth and once you do it well you can attack and instantly blaster parry them within milliseconds of using a saber strike. the combat in this game is a 20/10
So who's expecting the Lightwhip from Lumiya and the Ultra greatsword to be in 3?
Those would be cool but I don’t think they’ll be in it
My rankings.
Someone needs to make a realistic saber mod for this, just like the old Jedi Outcast game.
My favorite Star Wars character is Ashoka Tano so the duel lightsabers stance with the white blades MY FAVEEEE
It’s such a good game
Fr
It's absolutely atrocious, actually. 480p, terrible framerates and frame-pacing, janky movement combat and animations, he moves looking like his pants are full of 💩
Blaster + Dual Wield is the BEST combo. Turned the game into Devil May Cry.
Ghost of Tsushima did stances perfectly
💯💯💯💯💯
Not sure why they didn't follow suit here.
Great Video! Thank You for all The Tips! My Favorite Stance is Currently The Dual Wield,
I'm just having so Much Fun With it and also The Force Attack where Cal blocks anything coming at Him is just Insane!
Dual blades & Double bladed were my favorites
Double + Cross Guard
It's the combination I like.
Just like to swirl through enemies like Ahsoka, and the upgrades are really good.
Some DLC would he great as well.
my personal preference goes to dual lightsabers and crossguard combo, it feels amazing to be both a glass cannon and a pure tank at the same time
Mine were dual, cross, single, double, and blaster. After unlocking all the stances I settled on dual/cross for my two forms. Breaking an enemy's shield with dual and then switching to cross while they're staggered worked wonders for me and got even better when I got the perk that ups damage right after switching stances.
im using the blaster stance primarily and the crossgaurd stance
I found double blade to be so very useful specially for combats with a lot of blasters you can take so much health froma couple of well timed parries and if you attack holding square instead of just hitting it does decent damage
My number one is blaster by a longshot simply because of point blank shot. Its literally the bloodborne gun parry, IT'S LITERALLY THE BLOODBORNE GUN PARRY!
The double bladed moveset is so aesthetically pleasing🤌🏻the movements are so fluid
I finished the game with dual wielding and blaster stance. I especially loved using the point blank technique to parry attacks. That slow motion effect was incredibly satisfying
Cross guard was by far my favorite
Animation cancel with dual wield is a god send
Thanks for this! It'll help a bunch to know how to angle my investment of skill points at learning when I start. I'd also love to see a force power video and maybe a things you should know before you start video if you have enough for that yet?
I started playing blaster stance and I can't switch off it. I love mixing the shots in-between attacks. It's good pressure and sometimes you get a lucky gun parry. The force attacks aren't very good though, but I like the hold square gap closer. It's also nice to have a ranged attack that doesn't depend on force. I'll switch to Crossguard for Charged Reflection every once in a while.
I just played the whole game using single stance. I like it the most :D
Blaster and double blade make you a true saber dancer. The balance of bullets to force energy has an amazing synergy.
Personal take (background: I play in grandmaster difficulty and I die a lot)
