I just got my whistle today!! It’s gorgeous and it sounds so good! I can’t believe how easy it is to get to the very top note in the second octave. So happy 😭😭😆
I wish I had a resource like this when I was learning Native American flute. Fantastic channel. Looking to pick up my first whistle and thinking of getting a Lir High D thanks for all the advice
I love your channel. I've only just started playing in the last few weeks and your tutorials have helped me a lot. I bought the Clarke original and the Clarke Celtic on the back of your reviews, so I took the chance and just ordered the Lir silver plated in D, should be here in a few days. Can't wait to try it out, God willing 🙏 but I had to purchase the pouch, as there were no cases, singular or multi but I was able to save on the promo code, even yet more than 2 years after this was video was posted so thank you very much for that 🙂
Just ordered my high D Lir whistle, thanks for the discount code! I ordered a Chris Wall sweet brass D last year, and I think it’s probably going to be a few years before I get that one. Can’t wait to start playing a high D, I have a low D that I absolutely love but having a high D will be a new and exciting experience.
Hi Stephanie. I am a new subscriber and have really been enjoying your channel. I just ordered a Lir high D and really appreciate your telling us about these whistles and the Discount Code. Thanks!
The hard case is a good idea. I keep my whistles in a soft gig bag and one was damaged due to compression of the bag. I was a bit careless, but that's easy to do. Those are some fine looking whistles too.
Just increases my impatience for mine 😄. On a tin whistle Reddit page a fellow said he ordered his on January 16th and he got it in Utah on the 25th. If that formula holds true and allowing one more day for it to get to California, mine should be here on February 12th. 😁 Well, a guy can wish, right? Now though I'm second-guessing myself and think I should have gotten the C. However all my other D whistles, while decent, were less expensive have some inherent limitations built in. Therefore none are good, all-around players on the level of a Killarney or Lir. So I thought I should have at least one "robust" D whistle in that category. And the Lir just seem to speak to me a wee bit more in that regard.
I love your videos, they’re easy to follow and your playing is criminally smooth (See what i did there 🤣) Anyway your doing a fantastic job of teaching 😁👍 I’m not sure if you’ve made a video on Michael Row The Boat Ashore but it’s a very easy one to learn, i know cause i did it myself in like 20 mins yesterday and i just started playing around the middle of last month (It’s not totally perfect yet ofcourse) it would be cool to see you teach the song if you haven’t already 😁 PS another song i’m interested in is the original opening theme song of Pokemon because it’s actually hard to find tabs for that one 😁 Keep up the great and awesome work you do cause it’s amazing..
Thanks Martin, so glad you're enjoying my content. I haven't covered either of those yet, but if you send me some links to versions you like on UA-cam, I'll add them to my to-do list 😊
@@CutiepieTinWhistle I enjoy it very much 😁 As for the song “Michael Row The Boat Ashore” i just Googled it and the tabs came up, it’s just a short one but it’s very good for a beginner such as me 😁 m.ua-cam.com/video/6bZpRpS6sac/v-deo.html And the Original Pokemon Theme song m.ua-cam.com/video/JuYeHPFR3f0/v-deo.html Others have done it but the ones i’ve found don’t have the tabs for it so it’s really hard to follow..
Those boxes look great for keeping your whistles safe! Just because I'm curious: you have had the chance to try many a whistle out there, but do you have a personal favourite in the key of D? 😊
Not really one favourite 🤣 it all depends what you want to use it for. Some are better for sessions, some better for recording, some better for playing in the house...
Maybe I missed this, but are Lir whistles in all keys available with only silver plating now? That's what it looks like on their website, at least for the D and Bb.
I just got a silver plated Lir D whistle. It seems that the tuning slide and the mouthpiece are almost stuck, so I'm afraid to push it as it may develop some kind of crack. Have you got any tips?
Little bit of olive oil? 😊 I'm sure it's better to ask Lir directly though. I'm sure it'll work itself loose with a gentle twist. I have to be pretty brutal with my chrome D to get it to move and no cracks yet 👍
@@CutiepieTinWhistle Thank you Stephanie. You're always willing to help and I appreciate it a lot. I'll definitely ask Lir and maybe ask some fellow whistlers on the facebook group as well. Otherwise I'll follow your suggestion.
Oh, sorry, just spotted this! Manic Panic Classic - vampire's kiss 😁 it's semi permanent, so you'd need to redo every month to keep the colour vibrant. Good fun though, and covers darker hair without needing to bleach it first 👍
@@CutiepieTinWhistle You know, I was thinking last night it was Manic panic! I still have a tub of vampire red❤Dyed my hair a few months ago, but now it's gone a slight pink colour! Thank you for letting me know!x

Thanks for what you are doing. These whistles are actually new to me.
Love Lír. Have a bunch and the new silver plated is top notch.
Beautiful whistles and beautiful hair ! :) Thank you Stephanie.

When I first saw the large case I thought it was a whistle and Irish whiskey. That would be a stylish way to wet your whistle.
I have a Lir A whistle and it is wonderful
Thank you, Stephanie, for another excellent review. Maybe I missed
Those cases are fantastic! I love my Lir. I do find the silver plating really slippery, so gripping the whistle can be a challenge sometimes.
love the red hair!
Thanks for your videos... Can you make a video on The waves of Killer? It is such a nice melody.
Thanks
Good review 👍🏻
Keep going 👌🏻

They're changing to silver plated whistles rather than chrome plated.
