@@w.6829 I didn't even realise that that beautiful air, which I love to play, is also in Barry Lyndon. I shall have to re-watch it. It's been nearly half a century!
@@robst247 Definitely, in my opinion it's one of Kubrick's greatest masterpieces! Said scene can also be found here on UA-cam under the title "Barry Lyndon - The robbery" :)
Wow, amazing playing, thanks so much. I like the sound of the Lir and I just ordered one but I think I prefer the Killarney just a tad more. We'll see one I have it in hand.
Because of the reviews from Joanie (whom I enjoyed seeing and hearing at the Javits Center in Boca Raton decades ago), Stephanie Burton "(Cutiepie") and Sean Cunningham ("Whistletutor"), I purchased a LIR, and let me tell you, this 16th whistle of mine beats all the others, including my John Sindt. Well worth the investment and wait for it to be made, engraved with my name, and shipped. "Kyle" and the LIR staff are awesome!
"Piper's" fingering - so THAT'S the secret to your outstanding playing!! It's been a couple of decades since I've last seen you and "Cherish the Ladies" at Kravits Center in Boca Raton FL. Don't you get older like most other folks???? I'm jealous.
Amazing sound and playing!!! Anyone could see the squirrell at 01:10 in the tree behind Joanie? 😄
Love the joy you put into your playing. It's so clear you love the music.
I always love your whistle music -- I'm a big fan :-)

Impresionante como toca esta mujer!
Awesome. What a vibe you have. Just ordered a D Lir Whistle. Pretty much new to this game but looking forward to the adventure.
I am impressed by your playing that stands above 95% of UA-cam whistle players
Just discovered this, you play beautifully and I think you just sold me a Lír whistle
Great playing and demonstration
Fantastic. Thank you!
Mná na hÉireann ... the first Irish slow air I ever heard -- in Stanley Kubrick's Barry Lyndon (1975). That was what got me hooked to Irish music.
Same! For me, it was Port Na bPúcai during the robbery scene. Immediately started learning the tin whistle afterwards.

What was your choice between the two in the end after trying both
Why the Killarney?
Killarney is a copy of the Sindt. I recently received my (engraved!) LIR whistle, and I like it better than my Sindt - it's easier to play.
Amasing! Is it posibile to play the chromatic scale on tin whistle?

What is that beautiful slow piece you first played?!
So beautiful. You are very, talented (and nimble). A good person for me to emulate although it's gonna take a lifetime.. :)
What is the name of the first tune?
The Women of Ireland

Virtuoso!
still trying to figure out if that's a squirrel in your tree I think I see legs!
Beautiful rendition of women of Ireland.. you must be a Pied Piper! noticed the squirrel coming down the tree to listen.
Awesome playing as always. We should also bear in mind this is the first time you have held this whistle.
Fantastic playing
Sounds great, what key is this whistle in?

Now THAT'S how to demonstrate a tin whistle!

Summoning the squirrels
At 1.10 a squirrel 🐿 comes down the tree over Your shoulder..
Joannie, If by a sad happening you pass before me, could you will me a quarter of your talent ? That's all I want, really :)
I see you prefer the natural man-look. Whistle sounded great, you play well.
What weirdass comment is this?
