The best part is you know Jack was being completely serious
That's what I was thinking
1000th like
Robert plant most likely saw this and said sure why not it’s Jack
I got chills watching this
Watching this just now for the first time, I could totally tell by the context that this wasn't just meant to be funny or something, and that it was definitely for real. It has his normal comedic feel/approach we all know and love, incorporated in with his actual legit request. I think that's awesome how he did this!
I love how someone in the crowd answered him when he said “Robert Plant”, the dude was like, “YES”
YES
"Yeahp!!" 😂
Name is THAT legendary to trigger such a reaction
I thought he was in the crowd for a minute
That was Robert Plant
They accepted because they know he wasn't asking because the producers asking him to, Jack Black genuinely wanted that song, which is why school of rock is one of the best movies of all time
"Without that song? It can't roll"
‘TO BE A ROCK, AND NOT TO ROOOOOOOLLLLLLL!’
TRULY a missed opportunity. that would’ve been legendary
Without that song we can't rock, without that song the credits won't roll! 🤘
Without that song everything will crumble, the entire show will break and when the levee breaks, i'll have no place to stay
@@sean_mccadden
we'll watch the watch the dogs of doom howl and moan
I love how genuine JBs love for rock is. I'm sure that helped him out a lot to be able to play that song for the movie.
He’s a rockstar himself
Don't sleep on Tenacious D
That songs actually super easy
@@Sara-qk2rs I didn't say it wasn't lol. I'm just saying I bet he was honored to be allowed to play it
@@Syv_ Tenacious D slaps hard
I remember Jack Black screaming at the top of his lungs through most of that movie why does he sound so quiet
Sincerity
Because through out your life, the most important things you will ever say you will say quietly
That’s just how Jack Black is Sam Kinison was the same way He would scream at the top of his lungs during a performance then was quiet as a mouse when he wasn’t performing💯
He was pleading with the Gods
he's not playing a character i guess lol
Jack Black is a national treasure
Dude 😎....yes He is awesome in School of Rock
@@JasonGonish There’re even movies that are not very good at all-and he’s still awesome in them!
He needs to be protected at all costs.❤
@@66Sixxy lord pls 🙏
He’s really is
Jack Black still has the passion for rock that I had back in the 80's ---- music was my life back then!
Great 💥
Why isn't it still?
🍪
Me in the 90s
My all time favorite movie. He's right. You cant do a movie about Rock and its history without Zeppelin. Period.
"History" of rock without the immigrant song... bout the same as the Nazis claiming to be from Atlantis...
Rock as we know it only exists because of Zepplin, take Zepplin out of the mix and we wouldn't have had most of the 70's - 80's stuff that survived Disco.
@@nunyabidness674 That is a stretch. Zepplin wouldn't exist without Chicago blues, even though they never gave the proper credit to the blues legends they borrowed so much from, to the point where they got sued and lost. Others like Clapton and Hendrix would still be present to inspire Rock and Roll, and they too were inspired by the Chicago Blues legends, but both paid proper tribute and gave credit to those who came before them and whose work they were building on.
Zepplin was still great, but the genre would do fine without them, because they weren't one of a kind.
@@ghostbravo7127Blues always existed yes. What Zep did was raise the bar of ROCK N ROLL to the stratosphere.
I loved the Iron Maiden bumper sticker on the inside of the passenger door...
UP THE IRONS!!!
EDDIE RULES
And the megadeth sticker
And the Cannibal Corpse sticker in the apartment 🤘🏻
@@heyimgoingtoplaysomegames Exactly what I was going to comment!
gross. it went from classic rock to classic shlop. how do you go from zep to cannibal corpse?! its like a whole different country let alone sport.
Jack Black will play the role of Ozzy when they finally make the Ozzy movie.
He’ll have to get skinny first… then he won’t even be Jack Black anymore😭
He's a little too old to do that now.
I'm waiting for it
Who would play randy Rhoads though...
Who would play Harriet. Lol.
This movie is the reason I got into classic rock. Jack Black single handedly made my generation love Led Zeppelin. This was one of the most important cultural barrier breaking moments in cinema history and I literally mean that. No way we would've been introduced properly to the Sex Pistols, Zep, The Ramones etc. without this movie. He's a legend
All 4 of my children watched that movie and it introduced them to a new world as far as music is concerned 🎶
My children were born in 1997, 2000, and twins 2002. School of Rock is an amazing movie for so many reasons ❤
I've never seen the movie. I love JB and Zep is my favorite band, I'm 35. I never thought about it bringing the new age fans to Zeppelin, and other rock groups at that. Might be worth watching out of respect for what it has done, I plan to carry rock and roll to my daughter, she's almost 2 and I turn om the jams for her already.😊
That’s crazy! My introduction to rock and Led Zeppelin originated from that one scene growing up
Wow! Really? I’m glad that you found them. They still Rock!
Right on! Mine was 1978 15 years old hearing Van Halen eruption for the first time
@@jmm1817 Dude, that's one hell of an intro. I was born in 1982, but I have idolized Eddie Van Halen for pretty much literally my whole life. My mom has told me about me being very small, and a new Van Halen song would come on, and I would say, "Is that Eddie?" Lol.
Man I love Led Zeppelin and Van Halen. I'm also a massive fan of the grunge Era especially Alice in Chains. Just don't make music like that anymore.
@@1Toyotamaster music changes as time advances and we are no longer in that time anymore but lucky the internet exists
Using Jack Black for that movie was the right move, his love for Rock is real and it shows
This "Immigrant song" scene in the movie was iconic. That's what made old music click with me when I was a kid in 00's. After watching School of rock I went into the rabbit hole of exploring 70s and 80s music, no regrets there, so huge thanks to Jack Black for fighting for the rights to use those songs.
This movie taught kids to love themselves for who they are it was lost on me as a kid sadly.
This movie, the scene from the van, is why I love that song so much. Born in 1995 and grew up with a father from 57. I love classic rock. That song is the most iconic song from the movie
Jack Black is such a kind hearted, genuine dude. The world needs more people like him.
School of Rock is in the the top 10 on my list. Those kids were and are so talented. RIP Spaz
My favorite movie just under Detroit Rock City 😁
And oh yeah...
RIP kid 💐
@@heathermiller5765wait,whos spaz? What happened?
@@zen-pie5486 "Spazzy McGee" or "Spaz" is the nickname Jack Black's character gave to Freddy the drummer in the movie. Freddy's actor Kevin Clark died a few years at the age of 32 in a car accident. Very tragic
how do you be that wholesome & such an absolute boss at the same time
One of the best musical films ever!!! ❤
Thank you Led Zeppelin for making school of rock whole.
I love Jack’s passion for great rock. I know how he feels!
Without that song this movie will crumble 😢😢
“Without this song this movie will crumble” gave me chills
It's in the DVD extras, such a cool touch
Yes!! I remember seeing the whole thing in the dvd extras some 15-ish years ago. God I’m old.
@@ManubibiWalsh we might be the same age actually so at least we're old together!

His delivery of melodrama is superb. “….this movie will crumble.” So good.
I love this movie. It touched my heart and threw gasoline on the fire that is my love for music
The "We Love You" right after "The greatest rock band of all time" 👍👏
I remember my jaw dropping when I first watched this in the bonus features of School of Rock.
*Jack Black's performance,* in the movie, during the "Immigrant Song" has *NEVER failed to make me crack up* EVERY SINGLE TIME 😂
The Immigrant song is about my country Iceland.
It's a nice country.
You come from the land of the ice and snow
From the midnight sun where the hot springs flow?

Amazing, I'm not aware this was happening. Well, the Immigrant Song was played in the movie, so it is a YES from Plant, Page, and Jones. Good Job Jack Black and School of Rock. Rock and Roll 🤘

That’s how I first found the band when I was a kid, because I loved that snippet so much. Definitely a good call!
This movie was directed by Richard linklater, director of Dazed N confused, boyhood, everybody wants some, and an underrated classic called waking life. He’s one of my favorite directors.
I watched Waking Life at the perfect time (age 18, literally the day before I started university) and it changed the way I thought about almost everything.

He did it justice. His scene singing that song is historic! And hysterical! LOL
He is right they are the greatest rock band of all time
JB and KG are also gods of rock, after all they wrote the greatest and best song in the world.................................

Classic movie with classic music
Wonder if they realise the impact. Id already loved acdc nirvana and anything I heard on the radio rlly at that time. I was 10. But never heard led zeppelin. And after this movie I got into them alot. So it rlly was a gift to the younger generation.

I’m so glad that Zeppelin agreed to let them use that song.
Jack Black is genuinely one of my favorite people to ever exist
I had School of Rock on DVD and it had this as an extra, awesome stuff
Hands up to the director for caring, producer's and directors most of the time give up on little details like this!
And then that specific song went on to being a song that I only knew for being in movies for years lmao
I'm so glad they let em use that song! It was AmAazIng! Jack Black is the coolest!
He wasn't wrong. That song was necessary
He should've said Bonham Spirt
Yeah, I don’t know why he wouldn’t talk about the best drummer ever 🤷♂️
@@retrored5606 because he was addressing the band directly and it would maybe even feel fake to call out to Bonham as well. (agree on the best rock drummer part tho)
Bonham was dead for 23 years at that point and he was directly asking those members to use the song. It would have made no sense if he mentioned him in this. If he was just talking about the band I'm sure he would have mentioned him though
@@retrored5606 Because it wasn't a RUSH ask.
It was a Zeppelin ask.
Neil Peart was busy.
@@nostradamus7648 I've seen Perts set up, and he's got a lot of different drums but, Bonham easily out classes with a regular drum kit. It's about soul and no gimmick. Pert is spectacular at drums and all the extra bells and whistles and that's a lot to keep track of. Maybe Pert was a better drummer but Bonham had the soul.
And it is still a freaking sick song !
I have seen "School Of Rock" play and they ALWAYS nail the songs. It's amazing what younger people can do with a little coaching.
Great song
I love how Pearl Jam gets 2 plugs in that movie.
I’ve met Rob Plant, my season ticket at Wolves FC was seated behind him only a few rows, nice guy

when the Dazed and Confused movie was made, they wanted to use the song Dazed and Confused. I think Page and Jones were ok with it, but Plant didn't want them to use it
Something about the movie being too commercialized with a ton of celebrities and plant felt people would just assume and associate the song with the movie.

@@sethredden3513 I don't think anyone in the movie was really that famous until after it came out.

@@MuscleManRandySavage yeah, I think it was rock and roll. my bad.
Used to love listening to Led Zeppelin 50 years ago, usually in a softly lit room, late at night, lieing on brightly covered mattresses, with a round coffee table in the centre of the room, the Buddha stick Smoke and tripping out on the music, the lyrics and the creativity that described through harmonies and tones the amazing universe and our interaction with it.

Didn't know about plea by Jack Black but reaction by the members of Led Zeppelin (let them use the song) not surprising. Need to remember that Led Zeppelin helped fund the production of another (cult classic) movie, Monty Python and the Holy Grail so they certainly have good taste ;-D!
