The more I play as Warly the more I am understanding that many of these recipes must be evaluated as part of a chain of dishes consumed. As a result, I confess that I might have possibly misrepresented dishes like Puffed Potato Souffle. Sure you can make two fancy spiralled tubers with the two potatoes but eating them at the same time will not really maximize the benefits as I described. Even Monster Tartare can be chained with restorative foods for a net gain, and if all you have is monster meat, it might be more effective to put potential filler into another dish in the chain that could offset the sanity/health loss. Bottom line is, Warly's strategy has way more complexity than a 12 minute video can cover. I appreciate all of your input here; it has been truly illuminating.
I found that monster tartare actually synergizes pretty well with other dishes like the Moqueca, Creamy Potato Puree (less useful), or banana pop as it completely offsets the penalties of MTT. Makes for a good combo especially with Moqueca if you're not hurting for sanity/health as much as hunger as Warly.
Not only did you present the video in the most comprehensive way with the added tips and advice on how to use the dishes, you even went an extra step of comprised them all into an image, a single source, which i've been dying to get my hands on. Gotta say your videos are all i might possible need
BTW: This guide was made BEFORE the new Farming soil. Now things are a lot different and a lot of these recipes are more affordable and sustainable. When farming for the ingredients, you can place on a single tile - 2x Onion, 2x Garlic, 4x Potato. If you could place 10 on single tile I would add 1x Potato and 1x Tomato just to save space, as 10 seeds are limit for the plant happiness. Onions have obvious uses, garlic is veggie that lasts 15 days and can be put in Salt box to last 60 days, grows in every season and if you want to grow Onion, Dragonfruit or Pepper, you will have to throw in some Garlic to balance the nutrients in the soil. Also when you grow it with Potatoes you can easily mass produce the Creamy Potato Purée which is very good for any character apart from Wigfrid.
FWIW, I found ceviche really useful playing as Wigfrid in SW. It’s the only meat dish with a cooling effect, making it easy to spend more time at sea without a fan. Thermals really warm up fast in Single player, and to use them you have to stick close to base. This was before bundling wraps. With them, ceviche would be really effective, especially when you have tons of fish from farms or merms and an ice machine
Glow berry mousse is easily my favorite. It’s a really interesting way to provide light, and it’s great if you don’t want to use up any of the main 3 slots. It’s especially good for ruins, since you don’t need to focus on using up a slot for light, or the risks of dropping portable light, like the lantern. It’s cheap recipe is nice too. And of course, volt goat chaud-froid. The dish is great for damage, and it’s nice when you want to fight a boss, kill a significant amount of small mobs, or even smash walls!
Hot Dragonfruit Salad is a great dish to pop right before fighting klaus and or deerclops cause then any worries aboute freezing is nullified and can be ignored, and in an general sense it's just a great dish to pop anytime during winter when you just don't want to deal with the freezing tempratures. The same goes for the Asparagazpacho but for the dragon fly and the burning tempratures that comes with the summer heat. And the exact same goes for the Fish Cordon Bleu but for the mighty Moose Goose and the wet tendensies that comes with spring. The only real down side with all of these is the fact that all of these require either a farm based ingredient or an ingredient that is a tad bit harder to get a hold of in some ways.
I survived summer with ceviche I mean compare to other cooling foods, I found ceviche was only easiest one since farm is usually busy stockpiling dragonfruit
If you have 48 asparagus and 48 ice, congratulations! Summer is defeated. If you have 64 fish and 64 frog legs, congratulations! Spring is defeated. If you have 32 dragonfruit and 32 peppers, congratulations! Winter is defeated.
Love the video. Watched it many times. Yes some of warly's dishes are just eaten for the effect but in response to that. Do people really eat pierogi for hunger? Same thing to me. Different food for different times
If you go to the caves early you can grab some bananas, then make Banana Pop once Winter starts. There's also Vegetable Stinger if you are able to grow some tomatoes or asparagus before Winter.
Banana pops are absolutely OP in cave exploring if you've got bundling wrap. Wrap up a stack of Ice and you'll never have HP/Sanity problems again in Ruins exploring.
I love them! Just wish they didn't spoil so quickly. I suppose if I was going to cook them as needed it would be good but I've learned my lesson from bundling a stack of them and only being able to eat about 15 before they went bad (even with bundles).
@@JazzysGames Welp, Fangasm time! Anyway bundling wrap is the way to go for ruins diving 100%. Depending on character of choice, farming splumonkeys can be pretty easy and all it takes to refresh a bundling wrap is 3 grass (one rope). Unwrap that Ice stack long enough to cook off a handful of Banana Pops and then wrap it and the Cave Bananas back up. Solves all your food, sanity, and HP problems with little trouble. Wendy is the absolute queen of this, with rework Abbly absolutely destroying Shadow Splumonkeys. Other characters can do it too just more cautiously. Cooking Banana Pops ahead doesn't work too well to be fair. Best to drop a crock pot (or multiples) down in a safe area past the Splumonkey village but before you hit Nightmare Lights. Use Nightmare Cycle to heal up for your next deeper dive. I mostly look at this as a way for Wolfgang to easily recover sanity, using the traditional stack of Blue Caps for other needs.
I think the grim galette (the nightmare pie) is the most interesting, not to say that the rest are bad or lame, its just that they don't give new ideas... And also, I think Wolfgang can ius the grim galette to get some hp back, if he has lake 50 hp but max sanity he can eat it and get a lot of hp back (I dint try this my self so it may not work x3 ) also great video, really appreciate the tutorial of making and the effects of foods :D

Monster tartare is not half bad if you are playing warly with a webber becose you can try your luck with making bacon and eggs with 2x monster meat and 2x eggs and you have a 50/50 of geting bacon and eggs or monster tartare wchich the weabear can eat.
From Swanky Psammead, the local beefalo expert: you cannot feed volt goat chaud froid to a beefalo, however if you eat it yourself while mounted the beefalo will benefit from your lightning damage.
I was about to hate a little because you were throwing shade on the potato puré but then i realised this video is pre reap what you sow and then it makes perfect sense that 2 potatos and 1 garlic ain't worth the hassle. I'd argue now it's a godsent for sanity though, but i'm actually curious if you'd answer this comment and agree or disagree jazzy?
Well my argument was this: if you want health then you're better off just cooking the two potatoes. If you want sanity you could still make two fancy spiralled tubers for 30 sanity and 75 hunger, twice the hunger of a puree. The only situation where the difference of sanity between these two options is more than negligible is if I'm playing as Warly with repeat dish penalties. It's cool that garlic is easier to grow now but I'm still not sure I'd make puree over tubers or baked potatoes. Just my opinion.
@@JazzysGames Damn, i didn't know spiraled tubers restored 15 sanity!? I thought it was like the standard 5 sanity, i guess that does back your argument and i appreciate you answering the comment, shows that you care about the viewers! Good on ya!
