The fence on your miter saw seems very handy for acurate cuts. I'm going to build this for myslf to. These frames look very nice Jon! Another nice video of you my friend!
I work with Sapele a lot because its easily available and really inexpensive where I live. I never would have thought to use a walnut stain on it. Thanks for showing new tricks! That's why I subscribe... to learn tips from a Pro. Wonderful tool painting as well.
Very nice. I’m planning on building a small picture frame myself. Perfect timing of your video. The wood I’m using came from an old barn at least 120 years old.
Jon, as an artist myself (oils and watercolors) I must say that this is a great paint & John Conklin comment says it perfectly... the frame & stain color complete the painting superbly. I'd bet that this would make a beauiful larger painting, say 16x20 or so. Thanks for sharing.
Jon, please don't take this the wrong way, I mean this as a complement but I have seen your paintings in the past shows, and I personally in my opinion never thought of you as an artist. However you have proved me wrong, you have great artistic talent to paint still life, the way you do. When I first seen this video, I had to listen in to see if this was a photograph or a picture you painted with stencils or something. Now, I need to say you have great artistic talent the depth perception and shadows and all the things that go into making a drawing or painting look life like, you definately have that God given talent. And also you always show great woodworking skills, you are truly an inspiration to the makers category of talent.
Thanks! That’s really nice to hear... its fun to make the painting in the art studio and then make the frame downstairs in the shop specifically for that painting. Thanks again 👍
Ok, love the paintbrush trick on brushing off the glue at the corners... At times with a damp rag I have the hardest time getting that last speck of squeeze out off.. Gonna borrow that idea : -), it's good one.. Titebond is water based anyway.. Right,.. And more water longer drying times, within reason.. That is my thought on using water to clean up the joint.. That's if any water gets into the joint in the first place.
Jon!!! 🤩🤩🤩 That came out awesome bud! You're so very talented sir! Keep up the great work! I've learned a lot off of your channel over the many years! 💪🏻👈🏻 Brian
I enjoy watching your picture frame videos, Jon. I have three 11 x 14 curly maple frames I want to make. I think I'm going to try this bead profile. I have probably the same bit you used.
Very nice, Jon~! Does your framing process include closing the back, like with craft paper, or do you just leave it open with fasteners holding the artwork in the frame? Also, what are your "go-to" fasteners for holding artwork in frames? As always, thanks for the demo and I ALWAYS look forward to the next Jon Peters video~!
jon, do you come up with your molding designs out of your head and just experimenting …. or do you see them somewhere and reproduce them ….. or both? nat
Mister Julles Glueing end grain isn’t very successful to start with and you don’t use nails in detail joinery I would expect that type of work from a apprentice of 6 months
I appreciate your use of commonly used tools. Nothing fancy. Hand router, miter saw, sander. Easy day.
just the trim i was looking for.....you are the ace

Thank you..the walnut stain works great with Sapele
The frame is the perfect design for the painting. It doesn't overshadow the artwork which is really outstanding, by the way.
Thank you
Awesome frame Jon. I love your painting also. It is so simple yet very elegant. Thanks.

Great looking frame Jon! I agree about wiping the glue...I've never once had an issue wiping wet glue off
Thanks Mike..it works.

We want to use that same bead detail on our window sills. It’s so simple with that router bit! Nice!
Thanks...the bead detail with the CMT bit is a nice touch.

Thanks Jon, I got one of those router bits in a "starter set" a few years back and have never known what to do with it.
Fantastic! I’m a huge fan of the bead molding bit ... just adds that little detail

Great!! like ever
Nice!
Hi Jon,👍
Hi Jon. Nice job on the frame video. I'd like to know more about your spray setup. Was wondering if you could do a video on it?
Thanks...good idea for the future. I've touched on it before.
Nice bro
Boa tarde Jon Deus abençoe
Nice
why wouldnt you use a wet rag and wet paint brush to get rid of any glue squeeze out? is the thought by some that the "wet" would raise the grain?
Some people think it will leave a thin film of glue on the wood... and it will if you don’t do a good job of removing all of it
Great video. You think splines would help hold this together a bit longer, or are the brad nails enough for a lasting finish?
Very nice, Jon~! Does your framing process include closing the back, like with craft paper, or do you just leave it open with fasteners holding the artwork in the frame? Also, what are your "go-to" fasteners for holding artwork in frames?

Neat. Thanks.

sir I will make this photo frame for my home.

“I disagree” 👏👏👏 Way to not follow that up with a bunch of crap to defend yourself. 💪💪💪

I can’t believe you used brad nails on a picture frame that’s not joinery
It works great...been doing in successfully for 20+ years.
I always use dowels for picture frames. Made lots of frames. Nails will pill apart.
Don't forget about the glue as well. The nails are pretty much clamps.
