- We've got some work to do around the yard, so rather than use the nice new equipment around, let's revive a forgotten 1975 Chevrolet Blazer K5. It's been sitting up here for many years, and it's just too nice to lay around. We fight through mechanical issues, bee stings, and course the typical dirt in the eyeballs. Think this old utility truck will run and drive once again? Watch and find out! Don't forget to SUBSCRIBE!
Blazer is for sale call Roger 605-787-7575 ONLY BETWEEN 8-5 Mountain Time Monday - Friday

When life has a guy down, VGG really turns up the feel gooder juices. Great episode!!
your right about that one
Agreed
Yep
I’m on that tightrope of life at the moment also.
Supposed to be building and partaking in the best festival in the world over the next week and a bit.
At 39 with the responsibilities of living in 2020 this festival has been my mini Ibiza holiday for a few years now...and a chance to meet up with old and new friends.
Some people will think I’m selfish for wanting to be around people.
These videos keep me smiling.
Peace and prosperity to All
Amen fella
This guy is just being himself and not realizing how much he is helping people emotionally. Keep it up 👍
I agree! He has also taught this guy who was an ASE certified auto technician to swear a LOT less! Now I say say stuff like Moses that's hot! lol Best of wishes to all. :)
Agreed. I have no experience with this stuff and there was just something special about working on an old chevy by head-light in a field past dusk with the crickets chirping that really brings a guy peace.
yep. His videos have helped me get through health issues and other issues. He reminds me of several people I grew up with and my grandpa.
@@wassamattau860 there's nothing wrong with cussing.. In fact it's a sign of intelligence and higher creativity
Thank you for your comment, I have to have this channel playing to sleep.
Sean needs to come back for some episodes in this capacity. This is one of my favorite videos due to sibling hilarity.
This one is an instant classic. I’d love to see a few full length episodes a year with these two. The comedic skill and timing is just outstanding
I enjoy these “will it run” episodes.
thank you very much
@@ViceGripGarage a fella would like to ask about the regal in the background there....how much a fella willin to let it go for or that black t bird
same here
What’s wrong with that old Chevy Wagon. That’s what you need to work on next.
David Hempsted
Yes! I think it’s a 67 Malibu wagon.
When his brother first spoke and they both have the same kind of humor it cracked me up. Happy to see siblings join in on the fun
I want to be adopted by this family 🤣
The brotherly banter really is a highlight of this episode. There is nothing like it in the universe when a cupla brudders get on the verbal turps!
This is getting out of hand! Now, there are two of them!
lol too funny i spit my coffee
I could watch them all day.. with pleasure.
Sean and Derek, pure comedy gold. I hope this Blazer is a a future project, soon.
Burnout blazer ?
I'm really surprised they didn't start spraying each others butts with the carb cleaner but hey who am I to say. They sure didn't make an eco friendly wasp friendly video with all that carb cleaner. They just polluted all of South Dakota.
Laughing all the way ...these guys having too much fun
They just feed off each other
“200%”
“That’s..... that’s up there”
“It’s a Chevy”
Your brother seems like cool dude haha
These two are a pair that a full house couldn't beat
I literally laughed out loud when he said hit the starter with the Tonya Harding.. lol 🤣 that's fuckin great
Bruh! When his brother pulled out the tape measure to check if he fit under the truck 🤣🤣🤣☠️
Im gonna do the right thing and go on ahead and like the video.
I am gonna go ahead and go the right and like your comment along with the video
Me too.😀
Right thing 👍🏻 before a guy watches.
That's way too many likes. Perfect.
I want that station wagon
“Well, where’s that coming from?” *continues to brush dirt down to his brother* you kill me Derek hahaha
🤣🤣
Bruh I almost choked on my lunch
I love this, I just got a K5 I had been drooling over since I was 10, it st there for 22 years beside the train tracks down the road from the farm iv always lived on, I'm 31 now and after decades of asking people in the area who's it is and leaving notes on it's windshield, I finally found the guy... Got it for 500 bux, no engine but granny gear and a 4 inch lift and 33s, it's a dream come true for me, I literally seemed bout it for years lol. Can't wait to get it fixed up.
Hahaha! Love the wasp nest removal episode! Hornet King approves! 😆😅🤣
Love to see you on this comment thread my man. Watch you as well!
@@biggrizzly9487 Thanks man! I love watching Derek, he cracks me up!
Great channel
love how Dereck sounded like a lawn sprinkler with the brake cleaner lmao
Those bees aren't like the ones in my neck of the woods. If one yellow jacket stings you, they all come out at once.
*holds up can of Brake Kleen* "Is this good for wasps?" "Nah, it kills them"
...yup... especially when a guy ignites the spray-stream with a BBQ lighter....
Crc brakleen in the red can isn't flammable. The non-chlorinated in the green can however is basically liquid hellfire. It's as violent as acetone. I cant imagine why youd want that? 🤔
That's not brake kleen, that was brake rejuvenater
“Look Sean, I don’t wanna complain, but I think you need to hurry up a bit” holy frig I nearly lost my coffee 😂
lol
24:49
And while digging the twig into the ground in mock boredom. Good gravy! Not the first time for that exchange between the Brother's Grip, I'll wager.
I'm rewatching this now. You and your brother are awesome. I had forgotten how funny the two of you are.
How funny was it when Derek was brushing dirt onto his bro 😂😂 . Another fantastic video . Cheers
" I can't get out of here, got dirt in my eyes " All the while bees continue to patrol. This video has some real action, bee's, torn clothing, and an extreme lack of sunlight.
haha!!
Leroux Liquors is a Mass. company, New England you know, lots french names out there....
@@nozornozor8270 Can confirm. They sold the crappy cheap versions of liquors in central Mass that we bought to drink at College parties when we were poor.
@@ViceGripGarage those blocks are awfully slanted too, under the front diff.
Derek makes things happen.
He has a vast knowledge of the vehicles that he saves, but his vernacular, intelligence, and sense of humor make watching every video worthwhile.
Let's not forget how he includes the little ones.
10/10 would recommend.
I don't care about the little ones personally but things like "lightning whirler" and "fuel make-it-happener" keep me coming back
@@benmoen ohmygod, yes!!
Nothing makes you want a vehicle more than when a great mechanic stares at it and says "what a good rig." Haha
IN 1971 MY LATE DAD BOUGHT A NEW 1971 K5 BLAZER, OAKRY ORANGE FEATHERS BY CHEVY, SPECIAL EDITION. IT HAD THE LOCK OUT FRONT HUBS. ONE FAST, TOUGH TRUCK. IT HAD THAT SAME BLUE LEATHER/VINYL INTERIOR, BRINGS BACK MEMORIES.
"Downy and a couple a stitches...you'll be fine".
I'm dead.
"Goin' tuh town shirt" love it
As a squarebody junkie I'm in heaven right now
Me too :D
The “brake clean wasp delete” sold me a subscription. A fella can treat a wide range of problems with brake cleaner. Hahaha
I like it how your brother says he's 200% positive it'll run it's a Chevy that's how I feel about Chevys myself
That used to be a nice goin' to town shirt Sean had there.
yeah, dangit, felt bad
@@ViceGripGarage It's his own fault. He should know better than to wear a goin-to-town shirt when he is going to be anywhere near you. Most brothers learn that sooner.
Derek deserves an award for just the comedy level alone i mean who calls beer wobble pops LOL I love it
I had a '72 Blazer with a 350, shift on the fly 4WD, when I lived on Long Butte, between Bend and Redmond, OR, same color as yours. I loved where I lived and loved my Blazer. I cut and hauled 9-chords of wood every year, using my home made long bed pickup bed trailer, to heat my house with a FireView wood stove. It was so nice, I never fired up my forced air heat. I used my Blazer for everything...running the sand dunes, hunting, camping, fishing, canoeing, etc. Wish I still had it...!
You guys need to work together more often, I felt real entertained, Good video.
My boyfriend and I just started up my dads 79 blazer that hasn't had plates since 2012 but hasn't ran for 4 years. Literally just put a battry and fire maker in it and not only did it start right up but idles perfectly.
I'll be dipped
My heart swoll with happiness when you decided to putter around the field a bit and given her a wash instead of just parking her. That low idle sounded like a happy old lion purring with thankfulness.
Amen!
Well said. That blazer has been neglected way too long, needs some TLC
& full restoration. Its really in decent condition for being close to 47 years old
His personality and the way he talks is awesome
Here it is Jan 23 2022 and I am watching old video's. they seem to be better then the new ones. Maybe it's just me but I like it better before he got so big. This is the type of stuff that brought us all together in the first place.
“Violently sticky”😂😂😂 you have the best way with words, My friend!😂😂
I want to like your comment but I can’t because it says 69

@@michaelrichter1465 I'm just copying a Derek quote, but yes, it's comic gold.
I'm not a mechanic, not a Yankee, and not calm...but I do own a 64 wildcat, and Derek is my spirit animal
We had a bright orange 1974 C10 pickup Grandpa bought brand new and it was used as a farm truck. He made tall bed sides for it out of 2x8’s that went in the bed pockets and used it to haul the soybeans and wheat to the mill. They’d sling the front wheels and lift it to dump them out, and being a kid I thought that was the coolest thing ever. I learned to drive by sitting on his lap to start, then by myself on our road that was dirt at that time. The bed had lots of weight reduction and would flap in the wind by the time I had a license. Super reliable, always fired up even in the very cold Michigan winters. My mom’s 90’s Oldsmobile wouldn’t start one of those days, and she had to take the old Chevy to work. 😆 Great memories that I’ll never forget.
The best part of this video is Derek's constant giggling and laughing at Sean behind the camera lol
Ahh brotherly love :)
"Why is that so violently sticky?" 😂
Right??😂😂😂😂
My family had a '74 when I was a kid. We lived in Colorado Springs and went 4xWheelin all the time. Man I Miss It. That was a Bad day when my dad sold it because we moved to Dallas.
“Sometimes u find some treasures down here.”
I found a treasure, this page!
That sweet wagon looks like a perfect future project from where this guy is sitting. My road trip junkie senses get to tingling when I see them old wagons.
72 Chevelle Nomad or Townsman, looks like.
Where about do you think these guys are at? I’m all for a wagon! Love em to bits
Derek said it's sold already
George Hampton I was thinking the same thing
I'm closer than you. lol. Ev

No. White people you could find to discuss about my province
Yes,,, so rite you are. You'll love the xmas video. ,,
You should have your brother help with more rescues, your back and forth with each other is amazing
I had a K5 Blazer while in high school. I loved that blazer. 350 small block
Derek doodling in the grass "not complaining" was hilarious!!
Oh man, I laughed so hard when I got a visual of that starter. Need more Shaun and Derek escapades! You could do like 20 videos in that field!
Hahahah I laughed so hard when you named the beeZ 😂 you guys are the best and I appreciate this channel so much 🙏 Thank you for bringing light and joy through these hard times.
Love from Sweden 🇸🇪❤️
One guy would wonder why a coupla fellers wouldnt just move the vehicles around with the skidsteer, junklifter 3000, that they used to lift the blazer earlier in the vidzeo? Then one guy was reminded that it wouldnt have the same entertainment value as crawling around in the dirt and rust, scuffin' knuckles, and takin wasp stings. Yuz guyz rock! Love your videos!
When a guy gets a show with a special guest star, well... makes him feel pretty special. Thanks for bringing us on this one. Ton of fun. Except for that sting to the armpit...jeeeeeeze!
Indeed. The main star sounds like a Minasotoan version of my brother in law and they are up in my childhood area.
I have several old cars in my "collection" (Too lazy to sell them). I used to spray starting fluid on the wasp nests that invariably showed up. It kills them fast and then the stuff evaporates quickly, plus it gives you a delightful contact high which enhances enjoyment of watching the wasps buzz their last. Just don't light up a victory ceegar too soon after sprayment.
Hobbies: Getting high on ether and killing insects.
Both white grease and WD40 also drop bees dead, like instantly. Stopped bringing bee spray to salvage yards decades ago.
old brake fluid is a great weed killer.. nothing will grow there for quite a while
Yeah, today's wasp spray sucks ass!! I sprayed a nest yesterday in my ole Fox Body door jam and them fuckers hit the ground, flapped their ole wings a couple times and then proceeded to flog my ass!! Brake cleaner from here on out for a guy...
Love that model with the full removable top. My favorite Blazer!
I used to watch this one channel , but the guy was monotoned. I like this Derek guy, he's funny and the comaraderie wasnt the same as this guy.Awesome, keep up the great content . 97.4365% the best channel .
"Brake Cleaner is cheaper than wasp spray, I'm just gonna tell you now." Well had a nest at home, I did the right thing and deleted it with brake cleaner. gosh!! It is way better than wasp spray!! Always fun to learn new tricks while getting entertain!! Cheers to you Derek
It might be better but it's not cheaper...Here in the UK brake cleaner spray cans are silly money...about £7.99 each!...That's about $8-$9 in merican dough! A big 300g container of Ant and Wasp powder is under £2.
@@sigmasd10 Just saw on amazon you can get 500ml cans for £2.50 each.
They came back repeatedly too
ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME!? 😱
@@sigmasd10 here in the land of the free and home of the brave, brake cleaner is cheaper and works 1000x better than bee spray. I haven't bought a can of raid since 1997

It's so nice seeing Shawn on these revivals with Derek and all that brotherly love coming out! These two together really makes these videos fun and their mechanical values pop right out. Good video. Nice seeing Bentley in there too!
I lost it when he pulled that "brand new" starter out
“Was it underground?”
You got a blazer revival, Junkyard Digs has a Mustang revival. Tons of quality content tonight.
Nice!
Right? Great night!
Goonzquad are working on their new house!
I know there all got good ones
Had a 76 and two 79's. 36" groundhogs bullet hole rims.
Damn I miss high school!!
This video was one of the best I've watched so far..funny as hell..removal of the replacement starter was epic
I love Sean...he's great. Of course u 2 Derek. I'm glad u included Sean

Some beautiful old K5 blazers in that place @ViceGripGarage
Been off work for 12 weeks due to a car accident and have watched every single vid of yours but at 12mins in to this one im screaming give it power and it’ll burn whatever is in the tank. I know cause I’ve done it with my 86 burban😆 k gotta watch the rest now. Lol
Ok. The brake clean was about the best content I’ve ever seen. Keep up the good work, sir.
I was at my dad's house and he has a covered car port/garage. There were several bikes there and the kids wanted to ride but they were covered in bees, 50,000 to be precise.
I took an old gas can and splashed them. All dead instantly.I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced
"We're gonna hit the starter with the Tanya Harding" Dude my drink almost came out my nose 😂🤣
My first vehicle was a 1973 K5 Blazer with a Target Master 350. Bought it for $650 in 1985. This brings back memories. Kind makes a guy want to find an old beauty and wrench it on it while!
This video, I’m pretty sure, is in my top 10 of all time!
Yep that’s what my brother would do to, send me under the car than flick dirt on me, probably let the ole jack down a bit and tell me I’m to fat, gotta love them don’t ya🍻

lol lol ya i had all the older brother bullshit too plus all his friends as well lol assholes
I just think it's a brother thing... My brother is older and he'd do that sh*t to me... But to be fair I'd do the same....
@Stephanie Logan bahahahaha deadly lol
He sounds exactly like one of my brothers. My came the garage while I was wrenching away with a vid running in the background and said 'that sounds just like Mark...' I consider watching this channel quality family time
“How much is that blazer in the junkyard? The one with the patina blue tail” would love to own that thing, also the orange truck that you pulled lol.
Yea for Shawn being involved with this Revival!!
He's a great addition to VGG, as well as the younger humans that you're responsible for!!
Love the crazy hard driving and hot wife intro which just slides into the most laid back awesome dry humour.
That chevelle wagon looks cool
Re-watching your vids, this one has me smiling the whole way through. My brother and I had many wrenching episodes like this, loved every moment. Love reliving you and your brother's adventures!
I've been following you for what seems like years, but I still find videos I have not seen. Loved the opening scene.
Seeing Sean under the rig should have the song "Shake Hands with Danger" playing in the background. haha

The guy has a level 5000 profession-al safety squintage, that's just fine.
@@MattExzy my name is sean and i heard that sond i love it
A guy was watching this episode an his peepers just hooked onto that good looking station wagon and think that would make and excellent revival vehicle if there is anything left of her and that Monte Carlo is just I'm here to tell ya that looks nice from the back.
That’s what I’m saying that old wagon looks like a sick project for him
I agree. I kept peeking at it too
I cannot understand how people can thumbs down any of these vive grip videos
Just dawned on me how funny these 2 are together. Hope he'll be on more down the road.
The brake cleaner battle totally reminded me of "Orange Mocha Frappuccino"
haha
It always warms the ol heart to see old cars get a little love like this. Since I was young I always believed to this day cars have souls, great episode Derek and thanks for the laughs too
I believe they have souls as well
man i wish you had your own tv show. we need more stuff like this on the old cable tv. keep making videos man so a guy can keep his peepers on it
This is how brothers should always be
Hit the starter with the “Tonya Harding”.

"The smoke usually comes right awhilst, here."
Golden.
I have some on going mental health problems , today was a bad day for me I had 3 breakdowns and just generally feeling low , this chanel really dose a guy a favour when things are hard . keep doing what.your doing !!
They told us in electrical school - "You can't put the smoke back in it boys".
I've never seen a bad VGG show period . The man is flat out hilarious , but he's a dang good mechanic and fabricator . I'm sure it's a lot harder to make a video that shows great info and show it in an entertaining way . That takes talent my friends .
You can't beat them old chevys. They keep on keepin on.
73 is very important to the evolution of chevy trucks. Nice machine.
Love your video content. Just something to try. If you use a regular spray bottle with with just a few drops of dish soap and water, the film will knock down the wasps quicker than Fords on race day.
brake cleen I have used carb cleaner and it kills Bees fast too
I bought a 77 Chevy heavy 10 the engine was locked up, so I put a 75 Cadillac 500 and turbo 400 transmission in it. worked great.
If anyone wants to try that, the oil pan needs to be from an Eldorado and the the oil pick up tube as well as the main bearing bolt/stud to hold the oil pick up tube.
I made adapter plates out of quarter in thick steel plates a d used the Cadillac motor mounts. The interesting part is the Caddy got better gas mileage than the small block Chevy. at 66 MPH it got just over 16 MPG the 350 Chevy only got 15.
Had lots of torque too, at 20 MPH, stomp the gas and the right rear tire would go up in smoke
Your brother is a natural, brings back memories of me and my brothers.
Hilarious, more of this! Love the interaction between the brothers.
These will it run episodes are my absolute favorite I've learnt a lot and a giggle at the same time
