Such an insane car. Kevin did an amazing job. Multiple times I saw him stop and explain how he was building parts of the car different than other shops because of safety concerns and what he's seen happen at the track. Should be a well dialed chassis.
Your explanation of how a boat rides on the pad is 100% spot on as an ex powerboat racer here in 🇬🇧 there’s a lot of difference between doing 20 knots and 90 knots great content can’t wait to see her fire up ❤
Championship cars cost championship level money,. but you're right. My calculator doesn't have enough zeros to calculate the cost. That's why we enjoy watching the videos. Experiencing what they do brings us some of the satisfaction and excitement.
That UA-cam money coming in clutch for this build. I wonder how long it has been since he has built and sold a new SMX? I can't imagine him selling multiple SMXs often or very many. I'd bet maybe one per year. His money makers are all the smaller builds he does like converting that nitrous engine to a boosted engine, the big back Hemi, etc and the UA-cam picking up has surely brought in some significant money. I would say the Camaro build wouldn't have been possible if his UA-cam didn't pick up after the deal with Cleetus
@@Berm_Blasteri would think we all would be surprised at the number of smx he sales per year considering he’s known world wide for his engine designs /performance
@newmexicann well Steve is saving like $60,000 on the engine alone since he owns it plus the car was partially built when it became his. I'm sure Steve and Kevin have some kind of deal where Steve gets a bit of a discount in exchange for an engine or something for Kevin. I wouldn't be surprised if Kevin is having Steve build a badass engine for Soccer Mom. I would guess Steve will have spent around $100,000 - $150,000 on the build total since it's having bus personal SMX in it and previous customer having some work done on it before pulling the plug. I am curious on an accurate number on how much Steve will have into it when it's all done and out of Kevin's shop. However I don't see Steve giving us an accurate amount, seems like most people that build high end cars like the Camaro or Eagle or Murder Nova or Shocker or that lime green Mustang won't ever disclose of an accurate price unfortunately. Probably because they don't want the wives knowing how much they have spent on a car 🤣💀
Steve, I really enjoyed this one. It's heartwarming to hear you speak about your wife's safety. I can only imagine how much this means to her. Kevin built a fast mother trucker for you and your family. An early Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. My final weight guess is 2971
Absolutely love this channel. Love this build and especially love your concern and forethought for your wife. Your channel is the BIG "Go To" on Wed or Thurs nights. Just awesome. From LesMond down under in NZ.
Im a little older and have raced boats my whole life. You are 100% right. But to explain Chime Walk it is the propeller instead of pushing forward walking sideways on the water when the “Plate” leaves the water.
As a former Unlimited Hydro team member, our 236 Mph hydro would only have 1/2 of the 15 1/2" 3 blade 15/5 SS prop in the water, too. 5,000+ hp Rolls Griffons (2,240 cid) with a 1000 single shot of nitrous for exiting the turns. The driver complained that the boat would walk 8 feet sideways at the push of the button😢. Our job was to make it FAST, his job was to drive it FAST! Boats are different, for sure, 👍
Map Sensor line suggestion. Use food grade push locks as they are all stainless, no plastic to wear/melt/break. Almost the same price and a good piece of mind.
My gf turned around to me and said "Are you watching that Steve Engines guy again?" Apparently I was sitting here, with headphones on, going "Bah bah bah bah muh muh muh muh" during the intro... Love it.
This is just my opinion but doing voice-over to skip over tedious repeditive tasks is a good idea as long as we don't mis details & things of varying importance depending on the variety of knowedge levels. For instance, I'd really like to know more about those big block style heads for small blocks & how they make so much power N/A. Thanks for asking our opinion. You the man of UA-cam!
Outstanding work by KSR and Steve & Kyle. And absolutely agree 100% regarding keeping Ms. Val safe. Bless you all! Can hardly wait to see some passes. Love it!
There are PLENTY of cars like Eagle at the strip. It’s one of the most popular cars to turn into a drag car. I’m more impressed with the cars you can drive on the street AND at the track. Especially at this power level. Mullet is an impressive car but this one has a lot better chance at breaking records like getting down into the 5 second 1/4 mile times.
I hope you guys tell us on the channel the weight and who in the comments who came closest! That would be awesome Been following this awesome build since Steve and Val bought this beautiful race car!!! And Kevin you do some beautiful work!!! If I ever had a chanceI would love for you to build my dream Drag and Drive Unlimited race car And Steve Morris to build me a SMX to power it!!! Big Mother Trucker Twin Turbos of course!!!
Hi Steve. I'm just re-watching to comment because I like this car so much, and have followed it from the first KSR video b4 you even owned her! So,I beg that you paint this the famous Lemans blue, I believe it's called, and from bottom up,the higher you go,from half way up the door, have it fade into a Darker blue,I had a 84 Z28 with that style, but red to black cherry metallic
The Camaro "that is yet to be named " is really looking good ( Bad Momma?) I hope all goes well in the next phase. Really looking forward to the upcoming videos. Many thanks.
@stevemorrisracing looks like with your project management energy this racecar is accelerating towards the line. Great work look forward to seeing first skid!!! 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
Steve.. ya went and built Val a Pro Mod... at KSR!! she has some serious stones to strap into this .. watching this come together, she'll break the sound barrier!
2886 lbs with only Steve in the car. My favorite AN fittings are RoadRunner 100% USA best fittings I've used. The wiggins' fittings are nice. I have some on my oil tank and breather tubes.
I would rethink the fuel pump being solidly mounted from engine to frame due to nothing to dampen and causing it to stress crack. I know it is suction but still may starve and cause aeration and shorten pump life and cause air to enter fuel system
What a nice build, Kevin and his team does excellent work. Really curious what this whole build costs with the SMX. Maybe Steve will tell us 😊 Good luck testing guys. When you're gonna name the car?
Who else keeps looking for a short of Steve testing the Camaro over the weekend? Waiting until Tuesday is brutal, even after patiently watching the build for months and months!
2892 full of fluids (without Steve in the car) 😅. Car is coming together beautifully. KSR and SME making big strides.

Car is looking fantastic thanks for sharing the process, so much involved to get one of these things right!
Steve, I don't know who chooses your back ground music.. But he deserves a raise!! best backing music on YT!!
Definitely likes some Rock & Roll, that’s a good thing! Lol
Sounds like Pop Evil.

I knew what he meant the first time. People just got to be there to correct others. It's gets so tiring...
Beautiful car. Love the build quality. That will be one fun family toy.
I can't begin to comprehend the money you are spending on that car ! An amazing machine !
helps he builds the engine

3180 lbs with Steve in the seat. Nice build. Kevin is a very good race car builder.
Yeah that's more like it👍
3150 with Steve in the pilots seat! loving this collab thanks for the content guys!
Thats what i guessed also.
Me too 😂
Not excatly a feather be weight
@@michaelw3809not at all that’s get the cutting wheel back out and rethink how you did a few things weight
3240 lbs with Steve Morris in the seat. Awesome build, guys . Congratulations 🎊.
I was guessing 3250

2956 with Steve in it
Badass car Kevin you and your team knocked it out of the park 👍
Im a little older and have raced boats my whole life. You are 100% right. But to explain Chime Walk it is the propeller instead of pushing forward walking sideways on the water when the “Plate” leaves the water.
Chine, Not Chime, a chime hangs and makes noise in the wind. Chines are on the bottom of the hull.
Love the quality of this build. Thanks for the great shots from under the car @ 25:35

Nice to see the collaboration with Kevin.
Such a great car guy.
This car is a HUGE plus for your channel.
I'm go 2880 I have really been enjoying this build Kevin and Steve two very knowledgeable guys 💯🏁🇺🇸
I just find it so amazing that you picked Kevin to to this car for you and I'm sure it will produce above and beyond the results you expect.
Can't wait to see what color Val picked for this baby!!!
This is like rolling artwork. What a beautiful piece of engineering and assembly. Makes me wish I'd gone down a different path as a young man.
This thing is freaking crazy quality.
Wow! Just a awesome work of art. I would love to see it in person. Unfortunately I live and race on the other side of the country. Idaho pan handle.
You know shit's gettin real when guy is talking about not hurting his wife! Appreciate the seriousness taken.
My guess is 3073 with Steve in the car. Amazing the work gone into it since Steve bought it
Am gonna say 3270.
@31:52 KSR For the Win! Great business, great car and good times and amazing group of guys @KSR
Steve, Kyle, and Kevin, y'all rock! Can't wait to see what it does. Peace 🤘
IMPORTANT ,,, you need a burst panel deflector in font of those fuel lines ,,,
That converter has a familiar look to it!
Blued badly was thinking same.
Love the color coded fittings/lines. Smart
I can see how much work you put in!
3564 looks good .. KSR is a good place to build stuff ...looks sweet man ..from a Michigan boy central mich ...lol
My guess is 3250 7:06
Colour scheme should be a tribute to that bad ass car Val used to drive when she met Steve 😎
2,950 includes The Man ! 😎
Map Sensor line suggestion. Use food grade push locks as they are all stainless, no plastic to wear/melt/break. Almost the same price and a good piece of mind.
A really deep purple would be sick
name it highway star - Like the Deep Purple song, which is also awesome.
Hotrod purple, like the color of purple hornies
Blue vein one eyed monster purple headed snake
Deep purple with metallic flake
I'm not guessing, just commenting for the algorithm!! Love to see the car is so far along!!! Can't wait to see the family making passes in it!!!

3127 final weigh with Steve
He should paint the camaro to match the wagon, do woodgrain vinyl down the sides and the whole shebang 😂
3150 final weight
Watching Cletus build Eagle you think, I've seen the holey grail. Then Steve shows his hand!
Thanks for letting us all hang out in the shop with you. Best parts of my day
Outstanding work by KSR and Steve & Kyle. And absolutely agree 100% regarding keeping Ms. Val safe. Bless you all! Can hardly wait to see some passes. Love it!
KSR did a fantastic job!
True craftmanship right there! I'm thinking total weight, all fluids in, no driver, 2790 lbs
So excited to see this car finished and going down the track. Probably more than Mullet and Eagle “combined”.
The hail are you talkin bout?
@ Don’t think I could have been more clear than that.
@@veto8792you for real? What makes you say that and Mullet initially wasn't built near to the same level

3113 total. Cant wait to see you drive it.👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Beautiful car! So exciting watching this car come together!!!! KSR and Steve Morris Engines going to hurt some people's feelings with this combo!!!!
MY 79 MUSTANG GHIA NOTCHBACK WAS 3150 STOCK WITH ME IN IT. THIS THING IS A HEAVY PIG RACE CAR. I THOUGHT THIS CAR SHOULD BE LIKE 2600 WITH DRIVER
2978 is my guess . Great to see 2 professional in this build . It makes for a beautifuly turned out car

3008 lbs total weight , including helmet suit boots and gloves .❤ KSR
❤ Steve Morris .
For some odd reason I was expecting Steve to open with "Welcome back to the KSR UA-cam channel!"... 😂😁🤘
That beauty is a work of art. Y'all should display it at PRI or some other show.
Love the music you use for your time-lapse although I was watching this morning while cranking 50 Cent, In Da Club and it was money!
Ignore the negative comments.
You all do a great job . Car is lookin Awesome.
Beautiful car, good job KSR! 3280lbs
Name for the car ( SMX FLYER )
nice build and thought out race ready fluids and Steve 3070
3280.... race weight, fully topped off. Steve in it. as it would go down the track. suited and booted.
all that little shit. adds up REAL fast.... especially when it's filled with fluids and RTR
This is a low 4 second car, no threes. Good work.
Should do 3s on a good day I reckon.
Should be capable of getting in the 5s over the 1/4 once it’s all dialled in.
Wicker Bill or Gurney Flap ??? 🤔
