So for the people that having trouble with the hardness with out the adapter u don’t need the adapter all u need is the harness and u use the driver side cigarette light green and red wire u use the cigarette lighter wire to by pass the system so the stereo turns on u.. u connect all the wires normally the ones u need and the only wire u don’t connect off the new harness is the ignition wire that plugs in to the harness going to the car… u take the red ignition wire that comes off the stereo harness and u splice that wire in to the left side cigarette lighter power wire I believe is red and green…. And u should have power .. reason why u use the drivers side cigarette lighter is because u need ur stereo to turn off and on when you turn off ur key .. the right side cigarette light is always constant power so it won’t turn off when u turn off ur key…. Leaving ur stereo on so you need to use the left side cigarette lighter power wire
The exact same thing happened to mine, screen stopped working but volume and power button only worked couldn't change song station nothing was annoying cause sometimes it'd work then the screen would go blank and stop. But very informational video. How do you know what wires to hook up where? Very confused on the wiring part...
Zachary Cabral it's all plug and play. Just when you buy wirring kit it need to be program whatever car, suv or truck you have. It's really easy to do and take your time doing it. No cutting factory wire..
Great Video. I thought it was harder than that. Thanks for showing me. BTW, what was the make / model of the new head unit you installed? Thanks again.
Like I said in video I told the seller (Crutchfield) what radio I have and they program it for me. My old aftermarket radio stop working now I have jvc and did really care for the bottoms on steering wheel to work I can get it reprogram again to make everything work again
@@Lilmiddwest okay this is what I have so far Pioneer DMH-1500NEX Double Din Radio Dash Kit Wiring Harness Maestro HRN-RR-CH2 Harness. What else do I need?
@@H1storybr3akdown well some ebay sellers don't know right parts name is. I used 3 brands wiring harness. Just hook everything thing up everything is wire color code.
This is bullshit!! You buy a harness specified for your vehicle, you expect it to be all plug & play. After getting screwed around twice, now I need to sold shit together!!
It's plug and play because you are plugging it into the factory wiring harness. Every time you install a stereo you still need to splice the stereo harness into the specific wiring harness for your vehicle. Without it you'd get to have fun testing all the wires that aren't color coded to match the stereo.
muzicmuzic9 We get full plug and play for Japanese vehicles. That's the whole point of buying a vehicle specific harness, otherwise you might as well make your own. At the very least they could have included a male grey Chrysler plug so you could splice into the plug then clip it together. Half arsed effort.
