Thank you Inga for making the time to put out the podcasts, you must be so busy working as a Doctor and with all the knitting that you do. Your videos are so inspirational. I love seeing your yarn stash and patterns too:)
Me Watching... Then Inga Disappears into The Softest Cloud of Unspun Yarn Plates as She tries to Hold them... Absolutely Wonderful to See....Such a Beautiful Stash of Gorgeous Yarn, Thank You For Sharing Inga 🐑🐑🐑
Thanks for trying on your finished garments, even though you have highlighted them in previous podcasts. It's nice to see them in reference to the yarn you're referring to! Another incredible podcast… Thanks for sharing! 😊
I haven't tried knitting with unspun yet, but I thoroughly enjoyed this video, and hearing about the different wool qualities. Mostly, I loved hearing your plans with each of those big squishy-looking plates of wool! It was just like getting to sit and chat with a friend as I knit away on my project while listening to you. Thank you!
I swear I could listen to you read a phonebook.. You have the most soothing voice to knit along to. I love it when I get a notification for a new video. I say do the light gray for the Miles Shirt Jacket! It would look amazing with some dark wooden buttons or some dark tortoiseshell buttons!
Interresting , i have in all 2023 collected unspun mainly Nutiden and laitly Hillesvåg for me to work with for 2024 collection for my designs, really looking forward to that. I am knowned for stranded work so maybe i have to look at structure design , many thing in a creative head 🤗💞🤔 was really Nice to see all your plans thank you
I have downsized, so I don't have a stash...I just buy as I think of a thing to make now... but I love to see others. You have a beautiful stash of yarn. I can hardly wait to see what you make with it, and I love all the sweaters that you showed. They are just wonderful. 🙂
My goodness you do have a sizeable number of the plates but they are fabulous. They knit up fabulously as well. You do choose great colours Inga. Take care ❤😊
Ooooh love this backdrop and this subject! Thank you for always making the day more exquisite and gentle dear one. I really appreciate finding your podcast! With love and fuzz, Samira 🧶
I love knitting with unspun. I have made two sweaters using Nutiden held double: the Rural Symphony Pullover by Ailbiona and the Koyamae by Joanna Ang. I love them both! I’ve also got Nutiden to make the Ciorcle by Ailbiona and a few others. Ailbiona’s patterns are lovely for unspun but I do want to try some of Melody Hoffman’s too!
Thank you for making this bonus episode on unspun yarns; now I have a much better idea of what I can make with them, and I've been eyeing several shades of Plotulopi for a while. Those big, fluffy cakes next to you have an Alice in Wonderland effect on screen.
I love knitting with unspun! I've knit the Ingrid Sweater, Felix and found that a single strand of Plötulopi works really well to make a Lento. Loved watching your plans.
Enjoyed your video Inga. No spun here in OZ, but I do enjoy seeing what you create, with it . look forward to your journey with the loom, I find it also a relaxing time like the knitting :)
Thanks for showing your stash. You encouraged me to dig through mine, find a yarn, and then search Ravelry for a pattern. Nice to see your weaving at the end of the podcast.
Hi Inga 🥹 I am dying to try all these unspun yarns. When I go to Spain i hope I can get some manchelopi to support local farmers from wooldreamers. I also wrote all your patterns since. I love the ideas. I am a. Colorful person but I do also love a natural sheep color too 🐑🐏
I strongly recommend MAnchelopi By Wooldreamers! I made the caribou crossing by the petite knitter with it and it was such a fun process! I'm in love with the finished object as well🥰
@@Some_sticks_n_string for the Caribou sweater size 4 I used half a skein of the contrast color and a little more than 3 skeins, but just because I used it double! If you separate the yarn as suggested in the pattern to knit it single-stranded, I'm pretty sure you can make it with two plackets of 100gr of the main colour!
I love learning about unspun yarn. My wife just bought me some ' country roving' by Briggs and little here in Canada and it's unspun that's 4 strands together. I'm un-plying it to get more yardage out of it and making a sweater with it. It's fun and wasn't that expensive.. also learning how to crochet with it has been interesting
helloooooo!!! i am rewatching all your videos again, albeit from a different account. thanks for bringing these videos into the world, i love watching them :)
I’m currently using Nutiden single stranded on the Floral Wrap by Lena Strandberg and LOVE IT! I’ve also done Fisherman’s Muse by Ailbiona McLochlainn in double strand but modified it slightly by reducing the amount of ease and cropping g it and it also turned out fabulous. Totally recommend both these patterns! ❤
So funny, I spent the day searching unspun patterns on Ravelry! 😂 I hope to CO something fabulous for my first unspun project. Thinking of a pullover for sure. I have a faded denim color and white. Thank you for all of the tips! 🤞🤞
Love the shades of un-spun yarns! Especially warm white! You are so clever spinning and knitting 🧶! I’ve never done anything like you and never any co,our work! Maybe this winter I should give it go in small way like scarf?... lucky girl all that yarn! Xx ❤
Love that you shared some weaving at the end of the video. I can't wait to see you create on the loom. Like you, I enjoy Ivana's projects on the Republic of Me. Enjoy!
I like how you did your makeup today..gives you a fresh, glowing look. Love all the colors of the unspun yarns you have in stash. Can't wait to see the finished garment knitted in the white nutiden
Lovely video, Inga, and as an added bonus I can walk away from it feeling that my own stash is actually quite moderate 😅😍 I made the Sunday cardigan by PetiteKnit in Nutiden held double + silk mohair (Tilia), which turned out beautiful, but I developed a weird rash and surmised I may have a lanolin allergy. So my other Nutiden + Plötulopi are languishing right now… Looking forward to a silk mohair video as well. Knus fra Danmark ❤️🤍
I made a simple hat in stockinette using Plötulopi in color forest green and I love it! Then I started to knit a cowl using the leftovers but it's too hot for it now so I'm focusing on other projects right now 😅 I knitted on my Cumulus Tee while watching this episode 🖤
Always a pleasure to spend a little time with you. I recently made a Wild Posy size 4 sweater with Manchelopi held double using only 250 grams. A little goes a long way!
Hello Inga- it’s make my day to see all your beautiful yarn and knits!! I made the Altheda sweater by Jenn Steingass from Plutolopi and it is so light and beautiful but it sheds some hair alright😅 Great for walking in the rain- I feel like a sheep!! I love all your work, thanks for taking the time for us knitting traditions fans❤
I am jealous of you at the moment I am in 29.4444 degree weather which is HOT where I am and I don't like the heat either. Good news for me is that cooler weather is coming toward me next week which I am happy for. I am planning on spinning some Icelandic Wool and making something from Petite Knits.
Thank you for sharing your unapun collection! Its so fun to see the mini yarn store you have created in your home. 😂 I absolutely loved Thrive from Woollentwine. It was my first time using unspun and it was way easier than I expected! I also found her fiber blend to be very soft, not merino soft (of course) but rustic soft - I actually don't mind it next to skin! I can't wait to try more unspun yarns in the future!
Looking forward to the mohair vid. Thanks for the patterns. You are inspiring to watch. You always make me want to pick up my needles and grab a cup of tea. Gracias amiga!
I was thinking about Fiber Tales, and then the Levitate Wrap, Snowy Forest, Sunday Cardigan, and the Löva sweater. Always nice to spend time with you here on youtube, thanks Inga. Take good care! Kimberly
Thank you Inga for this very interesting video. And then asking others what they recommend in unspun. I currently have on my needles the Rural Symphony Pullover by Ailbiona McLochlainn in Manchelopi using 2 colours for the colourwork Have also knitted Rug by Junko Okamoto in 2 Manchelopi colours. I love taking my Blanket Shawl by Winter tales knit in Manchelopi when I go for picnics, which drapes so beautifully. Will also be casting on Sophie's Sweater by Eri Shimizu in Manchelopi. My local yarn store always carries it so it's easy for me to pick up. The brown shade is the softest, but all the shades are soft and light as a feather.
I cast on the Miles Shirt Jacket last week with Nutiden Skymt held double and it’s flying off the needles. It would look amazing in the green Nutiden yarn for sure 💚
Right now I'm knitting the Korshaven Sweater by Strikkekaffe in Thrive unspun. It's working up beautifully and is super engaging. 100% would highly recommend.
What a lovely stash of unspun! Thank you for sharing. I've made the Felix pullover, two Ranunculus sweaters (double and single stranded) and the Gentle Lopi using Nutiden and/or Plötulopi. I've used the garments a lot and love them dearly. I'm intending to make the Aito shawl because I want to be wrapped up in all the unspun goodness. ❤
I just love the patterns of Ailbíona McLochlainn ! The ciorcal is really really huge and i wrap myself into it on a cold day. Now i am knitting on the lastlong pullover by Ailbiona in .... Botaniska (held double). I also like the Flippened : a really curious design that just looks great! Thank you for the podcast, really enjoyed it.
I have knit a few things with Nutiden. I made the Saglan for my husband for hunting season. It probably turned out the best fit. The rest turned out bigger than I planned. I knit Vest #2-Spring Edition. It turned out too wide, I gave it away. Next, I knit the Paloma by Espace Tricot. I love it, but it is too wide as well. Last, I knit and just finished the Field Day jacket by Ozetta. It’s really big but I wear it. Every time, I swatch and go down a size, so I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong. I held them all either double or with a strand of mohair.
Hello Inga, Thanks for another video, I can't stop to watch them haha. I've got some plotulopi at home, i've orderer WAY too much for my afmaeli and i'll be knitting very soon a weekender sweater for my mother. There's a little bird telling me that I will still have some (or more!) leftovers so your ideas are really inspiring as i think I will have at least enough for an amy slipover, or maybe even more (yes I ordered A LOT) so I might go back through your ideas and see what kind of sweater I could make. Thanks for sharing it warms my heart have a nice day Tamara
Hello !!! I am jealous of your stash. I would make the Ciorcal in with the white , would be very nice :) Have a nice day from Saint -Constant Québec Canada
Hi Inga. My favourite jumper, is made holding 2 strands of plotulopi together , is the ranunculus. It is lovely and oversized and i wear it instead of a coat as a top layer. Xx
Love unspun as well. I test knit for Albina and really love her Lastlong Cardigan. It’s half fisherman’s rib drop shoulder. I knit it with a single strand of Nutiden from a higher lanolin colorway, so single worked. I think it would be amazing in single held with mohair. I also just finished MJ Watts/Ellis Knitwear test knit for the Groningen Cardigan in Nutiden held double - it’s a ribbed pattern, drop shoulder, more of a cropped fit. I split the hem and love that as well. You mentioned Melody’s patterns - wonderful - I knit Wild Posey in Nutiden held single with mohair for a drapey fabric and love it. You may find some additional options with Scandiworks Kristen Drysdale designs - most of her patterns are in standard yarn but they work well with unspun, too. Thanks for the chat! Several of my unspun projects are on Instagram under this UA-cam name
Dear Inga, i'm now infected with the unspun-yarn--virus too 😀 and will start lopi in Plum colour and keep it together with a Alpaka lace. Hopefully i will be able to knit this yarn 😅😊
Thanks for sharing your collection with us. It's a shame Hillesvåg is having financial issues. Maybe I could do my civic duty and help out with a couple purchases. 😂 I made the Gentle Lopi in unspun as well as Moorland cardigan. I hope to get plotulopi in rust soon - that's a beautiful color.
Beautiful podcast, thank you very much. I am knitting the Winterwoods sweater by The Petite Knitter in Plotulopi and it’s such an amazing colorwork ! Happy knitting ❤
I have a bit of unspun I need to use up too and the patterns I'm looking at are Wild Posy by Melody Hoffman, Evergrey by The Petite Knitter, Timepiece Cardigan and Harvest Season Blouse by Ailbiona McLochlainn and Alyssum Sweater by Tomomi Yoshimoto. Would hold the unspun double for all these patterns. Would really love to get my hands on the Hillesvåg Forgarn here in the UK 😍
Thank you for this extra video! It was super interesting and now I want to try out to knit with unspun yarn, which I've never been interested in knitting with before. I think I will start with a smaller project, to see how I like it and how it feels like.
Yesterday I casted on for Caidree’s regular Harlow Sweater with nutiden and mohair. I also just finished Aimee Sher’s Building Blocks Drop but I did the sleeveless slip over version in a marked nutiden….it was a joy to knit!!
I made the Into the Wild Sweater by Tania Barley using plutolopi. I love it. I have a stash of nutiden for a big fluffy turtle neck but havent decided on a pattern yet.
Thank you for the inspiration. I knitted the Brise-sweater by Pia Trans out of nutiden held together with one strand of Drops brushed suri. The wayworth shawl/ cowl by Isabella Clark is on my bucketlist 😊 Wishing you all a nice sunday 🌞
I’m really interested in your weaving. It was lovely to see at the end of a great video. I’d love to hear more about what you’re weaving projects are 😊
I made the Ciorcal cardigan in natural white Nutiden one strand with a strand of KfO mohair in ‘cloud’. It’s wonderful. You can wear it both ways up including out if the house. It’s lots of knitting but worthwhile. I think Ciorcal is Irish Gaelic and means circle. Pronounced ‘circle’.
I’m slowly working on the Amara sweater in nutiden held together with a silk mohair. I can tell it’s going to be super light and airy. It’s my first try using unspun. I am enjoying it but it’s like you said I can only knit it in certain circumstances because of its fragility.
Such lovely unspun yarn! You can also run it through your spinning wheel to make more traditional yarn! It's a great way to practice some of the techniques without worrying about drafting 😊
I know you sometimes get yarn sent to you from a Canadian friend - I’d recommend trying the unspun from Custom Woolen Mills (soooo poofy and soft) and also from Brigg’s and Little. Both come ‘plied’ so you have to separate the strands, but I’ve worked with both and they are nice. I do love pötulopi best, though.
So much inspiration! I really need to get back to using my Nutiden stash. I’ve made the badger and bloom sweater by Anne ventzel and loved the results.
My plan is to knit an Ilya sweater by Caitlin Hunter. I will be using Nutiden as the main color held w mohair and manchelopis for the color work. Fingers crossed it all goes ok.
Thanks for sharing your unspun knitting plans. I have SO MUCH unspun because I love the idea of it but the constant breaking makes it a pain to work with. For that reason I have 2 half finished sweaters sitting in baskets in my living room that I haven't touched in months and months (maybe ever a year or two... 🥲). This video is making me feel re-inspired to finished them! Unspun really is lovely once it's knitted up it just takes a lot of patience and concentration, especially when holding it single. Anyway, best wishes from the midwest USA and happy almost summer!!!
A very good episode. I’ve loved knitting 1 strand of Plutolopi and 1 strand of mohair. Super light! I’ve made “Fimmvorduals” from Helene Magnussen and the tulip sweater.
Thanks for the vide! I recently made Bawi sweater by aegyoknit from nutiden (2 strands - makadam & skir) together with drops kid-silk in ash grey and it turned out amazing. Then also just finished Caroline shawl by Isabella Clark in nutiden (pikant) - love it too! and just started a Vildapel cardigan by Frida Öskap, again, in nutiden (onska). Then during the winter I knitted Skvattram by Frida Öskap in Thrive (Rye) and literally wore it every day, so started another one in manchelopi. Another one in thrive (linen) is still in progress - it's Persephone sweater by Vanessa Pellisa. I'm planning to knit Lo-KI raglan later in the year too :) love the unspun yarn!
I made the Braids of Grass sweater by Albiona M with Manchelopi and I love it. You have inspired me to try something else with the nearly 3 plaits I have left. You are always inspiring Inga, thank you.
I wonder if you held two different colors together if it would make a nice marled sweater out of the nutiden? I am thinking of trying this since I could not get more than 300 grams of a lovely muted pink from Honer och Eir and I may order some of the darker gray or browns to marl with the pink... I love your videos and the information is priceless for those of us using unspun for the first time.
Hi! I´ve just finished my Cardigan no8 by My favourite things Knitwear in Nutiden Solvända and I LOVE IT. You have to size down a bit though but otherwise - perfect! Good luck! - I also, just like Émilie, strongly recommend Manchelopi.
Thank you Inga for making the time to put out the podcasts, you must be so busy working as a Doctor and with all the knitting that you do. Your videos are so inspirational. I love seeing your yarn stash and patterns too:)
Thank you😘

I'm making the Miles Shirt Jacket in the Crux unspun! I think you would love that unspun it you tried it out. 💗
I think so to! One day soon i hope
Thanks for trying on your finished garments, even though you have highlighted them in previous podcasts. It's nice to see them in reference to the yarn you're referring to! Another incredible podcast… Thanks for sharing! 😊
Noo, Hillesvag can't go out of business😮 I'm in the US, but I think I will put in an order to support them as well.

Thank you for putting together this video, you've shown us lots of lovely patterns. 😍
I purchased some Hillesvag when there in February on Arne and Carlos’s knitting cruise! You have given me lots of ideas! Thanks, Inge….
Enjoyed your video Inga. No spun here in OZ, but I do enjoy seeing what you create, with it . look forward to your journey with the loom, I find it also a relaxing time like the knitting :)
I’ve made a ranunculus in one thread of Nutiden and one thread of silk mohair. It’s lovely! I’m halfway through the Hood, love it!
I knit the mikes shirt jacket in the winter with Manchelopi and it turned out wonderfully! So big and cozy.
Thanks for showing your stash. You encouraged me to dig through mine, find a yarn, and then search Ravelry for a pattern. Nice to see your weaving at the end of the podcast.

Love looking at all this gorgeous unspun yarn 🧶 💚
I'm new here 😊 and I'm sold 😂 I have some unspun in my stashes and amy slipover pattern so I will be having new project on my needles, the fiveth one
I have never tried unspun yarn yet, but I will! Thank you for the nice podcast.
Thats a great compliment as i didnt have makeup on hehe :D
Wow no makeup!!! ☺️! Your skin is flawless, and with that sunkissed glow on camera👍
I'm jealous😃

Here in IL where it's 88°F or 31°C I'm knitting with cotton today.
Always a pleasure to spend a little time with you. I recently made a Wild Posy size 4 sweater with Manchelopi held double using only 250 grams. A little goes a long way!

Thanks for the great stash dive, so beautiful. And the patterns are great! 🧶
Hi Inga, such a cozy video. I'm working on the TRAVELER'S CARDIGAN by Ozetta which is using double-stranded unspun yarn.
Thank you! Now I really want to knit from unspun! 🐑♥️🐑♥️🐑
I love unspun!!!
I would be happy to help you get a hold of it 😊
Thank you for this extra video! It was super interesting and now I want to try out to knit with unspun yarn, which I've never been interested in knitting with before. I think I will start with a smaller project, to see how I like it and how it feels like.
You are so welcome! Enjoy😘
I made a Wild Posy by Melody Hoffman in light gray Plotulopi and it turned out beautiful! I definitely recommend that pullover.
I love the idea of unspun. And your weaving at the end is nice. I’m a ridged heddle weaver too❤
I’m slowly working on the Amara sweater in nutiden held together with a silk mohair. I can tell it’s going to be super light and airy. It’s my first try using unspun. I am enjoying it but it’s like you said I can only knit it in certain circumstances because of its fragility.
the unspun cakes are truly gorgeous - i am knitting the Smilla sweater with unspun alpaca at the moment - and it is turning out very nicely.
Oh how lovely😍 i havent heard of unspun alpaca yet
Such lovely unspun yarn! You can also run it through your spinning wheel to make more traditional yarn! It's a great way to practice some of the techniques without worrying about drafting 😊
I know you sometimes get yarn sent to you from a Canadian friend - I’d recommend trying the unspun from Custom Woolen Mills (soooo poofy and soft) and also from Brigg’s and Little. Both come ‘plied’ so you have to separate the strands, but I’ve worked with both and they are nice. I do love pötulopi best, though.
Might have to ask her if shes up for another swap in the fall🌚
Looking forward to seeing these as FOs ❤
Uist wool in Scotland also have some unspun sometimes! I have a few plates of a Cheviot based unspun from them 😍
Oh il have to check then out😍
So much inspiration!
Lovely srash
Oh you could marle the white and medium grey together for your Shacket by Ozetta!
I’m using plotulopi in a half and half triangles wrap at the moment, hoping it will make a very light but very warm wrap!
Thank you for this podcast as I’m also looking for inspiration for my unspun.
You are so welcome!
