I loooooove looking at yarn. I’m a new knitter, a sock knitter, and I cannot get enough of sock yarn, sock yarn videos, sock knitting talk…just keep it up, ok? You feed my addiction.
There is nothing wrong with being a yarn collector, and every house needs great insulation
For sure, our place is insulated from the heat, wool the ultimate temperature moderator...🤣🥰
Love looking at other people's stash - it's like looking at other people's books & art collections ! Thanks 👏😊
@@juliedavies8145 glad you enjoyed it ❤️ thanks for watching
Welcome to UA-cam. Love to see another Aussie podcaster, especially another yarn dyer.
❤ thanks so much, I will go check you out too … love this finding people on the socials.
Really enjoyed your first episode Susan, loved seeing your stash and it helped me with some of the brands I had seen on the market. So looking forward to seeing more of you.💕
Thank you so much, I am so glad you enjoyed it 💕
Awesome first episode - thanks for sharing Susan - looking forward to more :)
@@NaomiW29 thanks for checking it out Naomi ❤️
Love, love your stash. Great to see a fellow Queenslander on UA-cam. Most content creators are from cold climates.
❤ thanks, I agree not many hot climate knit podcasts around. It has its challenges 😂❤
💖🤩Stash Goals!! As I run to my husband to show him I am too normal 😂
Thanks for sharing your stash with us & great first video. Loved it & the editing by Ash
@@tonis4503 😂 thanks Toni , I think Ash did a great editing job ….It did cost me 🤪❤️
No shame allowed! Great first video. I love watching yarn stash organization vids. Lovely collection. 💖
Thanks so much Lisa I am thrilled you found me and enjoyed the video.
I love Felici for making socks for people who aren’t likely to be handwashing them, it holds up so well! The Bendigo sock yarn looks really good in “The Library Sock” pattern. “Garden Fence” sock pattern looks good in self striping , as does the “Brisbane” sock pattern by Kath Martin, an Aussie sock designer
Those are some great recommendations, thanks so much … now to remember to make a note of them for when I go to knit my stash ❤
Congratulations on a great first episode and thank you for sharing your beautiful stash. My kids also say on occasion I have so much yarn until I knit them up something 😂
Love that! Ash didn’t complain either when I knit him a hoodie❤ thanks for watching
Lovely stash! 😊 According to Ravelry the Ombre Delight is 70% Bamboo and 30% cotton and there are a lot of different colors of them. Looking forward to see more of your projects and yarn😊
Thanks for the info! I did quite well with my quests then, thanks so much for watching❤
Loved your video and look forward to more. Can’t judge, my stash is probably as big plus fabric, plus paper crafts, plus all the other rabbit holes I’ve been down but now my grandkids are loving it. Bring it on Susan, I’m a huge fan of our Aussie dyers. ❤
Aaah, you may be able to judge as I have not mentioned anything about my fabric stash and spinning fibres... 😜🤪❤
Oh my gosh…the faux tortoiseshell needles. I think these are what I knitted on as a kid. My mum had quite a few but they have all since broken. Takes me back.
@@MakeOneLeft yes they are stunning and I am obviously obsessed!
I enjoyed this so much. Thankyou for sharing your passion for yarn. Great to hear your thoughts on different commercial yarns as well as indie dyed. I love collecting yarn too and get so much joy from pulling out crates and seeing what I have. An encouraging and enabling hubby who says 'there's no such thing as too much yarn' is a bonus 😊 Best wishes from Tassie
@@karinboyle188 thanks for watching Karen, I think a good mix of yarns in a good mix of price brackets is a great way to craft…
Great to see you Susan. I love looking at other people’s stash. I don’t think yours is too much, and a lot of it is in multiple quantities per colour, so good for garments. I have a lot of single skeins and according to my husband, a lot of them look like the same colour! He has no idea 😂 well done on finding all that yarn at the op shop, I never see anything that good at the ones near me. Love Ash’s comments in the edit, he has a great sense of humour 😅 looking forward to the next episode ❤
@@melaniesmith3129 still yet to do my hand dyed yarns , but thanks , yes I am happy with the multiples , now to focus on the knitting ❤️
❤❤so glad I found you ❤❤❤
Thanks for watching ❤
Loved taking a tour of your curated yarn collection 😊
Yay, thank you Skye, it has really helped me to know what I have 😂❤
Greetings from the West Coast of NZ. Great to meet you, I look forward to more content. Broken needles make good plant stakes. I can see a size 8 from where I am sitting and there is one on top of the bookshelf that I can't quite read from here.
@@annesamuel7096 the broken needles will have there day, great tip. Thanks for watching Anne❤️
Just found your video. , Great to see another Aussie dyer. And yes, you do have more stash than me 😂 . I recognise a lot of your stash yarns. I also have handspun and fibre stash, and sheep fleece. All waiting for my attention. I'm in Brisbane.
Oh yay, another Brisbane dweller, I too have the fibre stash for spinning but that does not yet count as yarn stash ... 🤣😂❤
Love a good stash video!!!
@@KatyB-GryffindorChaser thanks for watching ❤️
Im knitting up some socks at the moment using you yarn,it was one tbat you did for YarnTrader i think a green colour. It is stunning. And lovely to knit with.
Ooh thanks so much Erica, if you are on Instagram I would love you to share by tagging me ❤
Enjoyed your video, it made me feel far less guilty 😂
Glad to help, nothing like a good stash tour to make you feel better about your own. ❤️
Thanks for sharing your yarn collection. Love seeing the thrifted and vintage finds you have ‘rescued’, so nice to see they have gone to a good home to live their best life 😊. Lovely first Episode 💕 thanks for putting the time and effort in.
Thank you so much Angie, I am new to all this so it probably took longer than it should 🤪 glad you enjoyed it.
Always loving a good stash 🧶Nothing to be ashamed of.
❤ I am feeling I may be in great company here ❤ thanks for watching
❤❤❤❤
Love the video and Ash's comments throughout. Enjoy your collection, it took a long time to curate it, use it, touch it, enjoy however you wish. Keep what you love and remove what you don't, I'm happy to send you my address.😜
@@christinatrotter8526 good to know Christina, I am sure there will be giveaways in my channel as I always have yarn that needs homes ❤️
Hi Susan. You could use the broken needles as stakes for tall house plants or flowering bulbs.
Great suggestion, thanks for checking my video out.❤
Lovely episode! Thanks for sharing your stash! Mine is not quite as extensive but I am a sucker for collecting single skeins of gorgeous hand dyed yarn - mostly sock yarn - and am at the point where I need to impose rules on myself so that I actually knit my stash before bringing in more beautiful yarn.
Also love the little edited comments from Ash, 😂 they made me laugh, because they are very much what my kids would comment as well!
@@newskeinknits5406 thanks so much Laura❤️ it’s always dangerous giving your 20 year old access… I had to keep saying remember my audience 🤪😂
❤ I loved this and your personality is so down to earth - subbed and looking forward to your future videos , welcome to UA-cam from co Meath Ireland x
Ps if I was your daughter I’d be like I’m in yarn heaven - how much can I bribe you to give me 😂😂😂
@@MB-hc9tk thanks so much, my daughter is a knitter so she mocks but when she wants yarn does not complain 🤪❤️😂
@ hahah! I can imagine! I wouldn’t complain either , your collection has sooooo many gorgeous yarns! A knitters and crocheters dream ! Plus there’s so much worse we could be doing than buying yarn .. if you doubt that ever, just look at the news and then look at the yarn … that’s what I do … whenever I feel a bit batty - look at the news - nope I’m pretty effin normal 🤪❤️
Hi I see you made a UA-cam channel I been watching your insta videos I really like your yarns and thank you I have to purchase some of your yarn .
❤ appreciate the kind words , thanks for watching ❤
Thank you so much for sharing your stash. I just love it! ❤
@@dimino1952 thank so much for watching Di ❤️
So nice to see you on you tube, loved seeing your stash, but I think my stash is bigger. I look forward to your next video😊❤
@@helenwilkins64 that makes me feel so good, a community of passionate yarns people finding joy in our craft, thanks for watching Helen ❤️
Great first video Susan & great editing Ash
Glad you liked it Christine, I think Ash did a great edit job the cheeky ratbag ❤️
Hi Susan, loved seeing your stash, it's great fun ... I had some of the Moda Vera Perfect Pair sock yarn in a pink and blue colourway! i mad the Recreational Tilling socks ... not the softest yarn but they turned out great. Wish I'd bought more of it... also have a lot of Bendi wool, did you ever buy the Cupid they brought out? It's sport weight and cotton and wool blend. Anyway, my stash is huge and I try not to let people make me feel bad about it...
Christine, I did not get the Cupid range, sound gorgeous! i say if you can, do what brings you joy , thanks for checking out my video ❤
The 'chunky skein babies' remind me of cloudbourn yarn. The brown one next to knitpicks is Hawthorne.
Amazing info, thanks so much! Off to google those now. Thanks so much I h for watching. ❤❤❤
Hi Susan 👋 glad to see you here on UA-cam. I’m knitting on a Kevat by Caitlin Hunter which is a great pattern as it keeps you focused and is interesting and short sleeved which is great for hot weather. As I’m not a sock knitter would you suggest any patterns for the self striping sock yarn? Looking forward to your next video. Thanks 😊
Thanks for the tip! Will defiantly check out the pattern. My self striping is good length , but not sure about the Felici yet. You could make sleeves on a top / sweater or a hat (would be thinner stripes). I have a book will share on an upcoming video Bronwyn ❤
Ombre Delights
Moda Vera
Sport: 70% Rayon from Bamboo, 30% Cotton
Sorry if someone already included this info. Well done on facing the stash! I love thrifting vintage yarns.
Thanks Kristelle, I am actually quite at peace with my stash, honestly thought it would be more ❤
@@ashandevedesigns Certainly no judgement from me. I love my yarn and fibre and fabric collections. I may need to slow down a bit is all. See you in the next one. :)
I feel like my stash is probably just as big or bigger. I still have two deliveries coming this week (one from you) 😂 love the edits by Ash, they made me laugh
@@sarahmelrose3181 remember a stash is passion not a problem Sarah 😉 thanks for watching ❤️
You have beautiful yarn!!!!! Tfs
Thank you! 😊 I really appreciate you watching my video ❤
No stash judgement here, mine is definitely sable! I usually leave yarn in the charity shops for people who maybe need it more than me.
❤❤❤ your will power is truely greater than mine, thanks for watching Barbara ❤
Ooo that’s so exciting I have just starting knitting and crocheting in last 3 yrs and i am thrilled to find another yarn dyer in Oz I am in Sydney NSW and am always having to buy from overseas ! 🥰👌💫✨✨do you do advent packages? I really had a lot of fomo this Christmas yay! 🤩
Hi Jane, so thrilled you found me, thanks for watching. I do advents every year and promote them at the end of April. Please pop over to my website and sign up to the newsletter then you will not miss any of the released I do.
@ yes thank you so much I will 🤩👌✨🥰
I’ve just been at Ikea today, looking at Kallax for my knitting room. I need to organise my stash too
@@NataliePaglia they are great I can get my yarn 3 deep, don’t discount the Billy bookcases though as they are slimmer and you could see more of your yarn. I am just using what I have. ❤️
@ I’m going to do a quick tidy and get my floor space clear and then re measure, mat need to replace desk too
@@NataliePaglia craft room makeovers are so much fun be sure to take an before and after photo for your memories and maybe to share if you have instagram ❤️
Oh Susan I have already started donating my yarns but not my Indie yarns they are to special 😁
@@christinecormick6104 I think if you love something and it brings you joy - embrace it. ❤️
I hate it when we are made to feel bad about our yarn collections, if you have cycling or walking as your hobby you don't need to go buy a new bike or shoes every time you go out, our yarn takes up physical space for longer because working with your hands is a slow process, on the plus side we get the joy of looking at beautiful yarn. If people don't like it then that's their problem!
Totally agree with this Noelene, a great perspective ❤
A yarn curator, no shame
❤ thanks so much … I really love the support I have been getting here ❤
at 44:44 you shared pink yarn, its in Russian, 50% cotton, 50% viscose.
@@zebrayarnsyarn3911 amazing thanks so much !!!
I got very aware of the size of my stash after seeing a solitary moth in my craft room, everything is now in zip lock bags and in tubs (and the good news is there was no moth evidence in the tubs.
❤ oh no that is a dyers worst nightmare… I have until this week always done the same, and definitely with the shop stock. But I am trialing it out in my making room for a bit to see how I go. ❤
I have the animal friends books also she does a doll book and so easy to knit with ur lovely colours think there’s two animal books I have Louise crowther i think
Yes, Louise Crowther, I have them both and am determined to knit something from them this year ❤
@ really easy even the sewing up which can be a nuisance I ve done the bear rabbit dog and a doll for my granddaughter s
I give this video like and hope you will run ads to promote your nice channel
