"the watch hands are installed by machine because even slightly too much pressure can damage the tiny hands" The entire collective of old school watchmakers ... "Say WHAT!?!"
Now that the watch is complete all that's left is for the Panerai computer to reach into the customers bank account, attach the drain tube and start the payment process.
Essentially then, although a Panerai is a fine piece of engineering and something I would be proud to own if I could ever justify the expense, I'm more in the market for a decent fake. These are made, like Panerai and I suspect many others, on automated machinery, hand polishing the cases made from SS, just like Panerai, and then final assembly by hand with hopefully some care. All for 100th of the price of the real thing. Cloned Chinese movement sure, but for me more than enough for my needs. If anyone asks I just tell 'em it's a Bali special, correct twice a day. Maybe I'm a philistine, but I get most of the pleasure of ownership for a fraction of the price, and without the divorce ....
I just don't understand....why don't Panerai open another HQ Workshop in Geneve, Swiss, to make all in house watch movement stamped with Poincon de Geneve......Geneva Hallmark.....In House watch movement
The hand-assembled parts are probably just required to qualify for the "swiss-made" stamp. It can easily be 100% automated in China. Panerai lost its lust and very 90's now.
Could be said for Rolex too, given their mass produced in the millions of units. VERY high quality Chinese copies of Rolex can be bought for as little as $300
@@reverendjohnatom2089 If its still mass produced, where the hell are they? With the current shortage, I wonder what the new numbers are. I see the Chinese fakes all the time in Chinatown. For $300, its pretty obvious its a fake when handled. The "VERY high quality" meaning even the movements are identical go for thousands.
Actually, a Rolex uses a much automatic as a panerai, The thing is that the Panerai uses a crap unitas and their in house trash movements, and Rolex uses bulletproof movements that if properly taken care of will last for decades, you want a work of art, but a Vacheron or a Patek, You want something solid that will go on forever ? Rolex or Seiko.
0:38. “The dial is comprised of…….” No it is not. It may COMPRISE two brass plates ,or it may be COMPOSED OF two parts. To say it is “ Comprised of” is just plain ignorant. I expect better from a quality video.
Now I appreciate my Panerai even more.

This is a lot more automated than I thought!
hence the "exclusiveness"
All watches are automated now, think rolex 2 million made in 2021.
*Bella Panerai!!! . . .*
Loved my Panerai
I think the fake Panerai's made by more traditionary ways. LOL
hahaha
I've never seen so much automation in mechanical watches tbh
they don't tell you about this part
Very high quality Chinese Rolex are $300
This video is 11 years old. In current 2023 videos they claim to show watch making but don't want to show the automation part.@@arsaeterna4285
china factory sends sincere thanks and appreciation for make good china watch
You must mean Rolex
The crown can actually still spin even if the guard is closed you just can't pull it out to change the time.
Interesting that the the lever is not closed when doing the water resistance test... hmmm...
this video clip makes me feel at ease
I cant help but feel like a glove is easier to put on and use than 5 individual finger condoms...
"But where is the fun in that?" Said the finger condom
After seeing this if people still think humans just came from monkeys 🤷♂️, we were all made by a beautiful creator we have not come from monkeys.
_Please_ elaborate! . . .
It is not regulated for accuracy?? This has to be done by hand.
The face is very readable .

Why not just buy a Seiko?
uhhh, Thats not good I would never support fakes ! rather get a casio
basically a machine serial printed product! the replica has more soul
Same could be said for a $300 Chinese Rolex
Anything under ~200k is basically made the same way.
@@barrydoyle7686- Ferraris and Lamborghinis are made the same way

This video is from 2012, Panerai completely switched to in-house in 2018.
How much would one of these cost me
$8000 min.

It's a shame how much automation is used the the process of making these :/ Nothing like a Rolex or Patek Philippe.

Panerai above everything
Panerai should be above a garbage bin and falling...
Alexander Kruszewski You are a clueless idiot. Stick to pop music, and Disney programming...
+Alexander Kraszewski with you waiting inside the garbage bin
