- Опубліковано 16 сер 2024
- In this episode I answer one of the questions I get asked most, what are my favorite Fujifilm lenses for Street Photography. These include the Fujifilm 35mm f1.4, 23mm f2 and the 50mm f2. I also talk about several Fujifilm lenses and cameras I’m interested in picking up in the future.
If you have any questions, drop them below and I’ll get back to you.

23mm f2 + 50mm f2 are my only lenses and i couldn't be happier!
Great duo 🙌🏼
The 3 best lenses:
1) the one you have
2) the one you want
3) the one you sold
😆
🙌🏼
I'm getting an x-t4 soon, I appreciate you including the sample shots and giving solid break downs! Good video!
Thank you!
It's only been about 2 months since I got into photography with the X-T1 and I'm already enjoying it quite a bit. I was able to pick up the 23mm f2, 35mm f2, and 50mm f2 and do like all three much better than the zoom lenses that came with the X-T1. I'm planning on getting the 16mm f2.8 whenever I find a good deal so I can use indoors whenever my nieces and nephews are over.
The 16 2.8 is a really nice lens, perfect for capturing photos of the family!
Currently have the XT4 with the kit lens and going to get back into street photography. The 35mm looks like a good place to start!
You are one of the only photographers out there, giving love to the 50mm F2. I'm getting one soon, because it is a compact powerhouse.
I really like the direct approach to your video content, Eren. As for gear, an updated version of the 56mm f1.2 is what I’d like to see the most. I guess we just have to wait and see. However, of all the officially announced new gear the 23mm f1.4 seems the most versatile:
All the best and looking forward to seeing more of your photos etc on Instagram as usual.
Big thanks David! same, looking forward to the 23. 1.4
16mm f1.4 and 23mm f1.4 with the clutch focus ring. This clutch focus is amazing when you want to switch from auto focus to manual focus.
bit annoying that the 23 1.4 II won't have the ring!
Your pictures really stand out!
Thank you!
Very nice episode and for all you said I agree! I use all 4 Fujicrons and I wouldn't change them. They are all great lenses in small package, true pocket rockets for street and travel! They have nice output, very good color saturation and high contrast...and they are all very sharp wide open, even 23mm which I find very sharp at f2 so I wouldn't switch to new 1.4 instead...
With new 33 is different story for me, I would like to add along with 35 because my favourite focal is that natural standard ~50mm equvivalent, so I'm really tempted to try that one 😊
Thanks dude! Those Fuji tons are the reasons i got into Fuji, love them
I would not discount a lens for a 3mm difference… you can use your feet to achieve the same composition.
I use mostly:
XF 18 1.4 for cityscapes and to be close to the subject
X100V always with me :)
XF 35 2.0 as a backup lens always in my bag
XF 56 1.2 portraits of my daughter;)
XF 16-80 f4 - vacation day time.
Great set up!
27mm2.8 Pancake simply because my anxiety. It makes my X-Pro2 and XS-10 so small, I feel a lot more comfortable walking around with it on the streets. Too bad it recently stopped working (having to restart my camera when focusing) so I've gotta buy a new one 😭 also looking to try out the 18mm f2 pancake.
I agree with you on the 35mm1.4 lens, it's my favorite Fuji lens in general and I always take it with me.
such a nice combo, looking forward to testing out the two pancake lenses here in London
We have the same wish list. Pre ordered the 33 and when they release a 56mkii I’ll pick that up. Want that x100v as well.
🙌🏼 that x100v is such a nice camera
Agree in regards to X100V, I'm thinking og getting it myself.
And I do not think Fuji will change the design of X-Pro's screen, however who knows. I however dropped the idea of getting the X1Pro3 not because of the screen but because Fuji also dropped dual focal nature of the OVF, what defeats the reason of getting that camera, thus the reason of thinking X100V route.
I do have the 56mm f1.2, and from my experience the lack of WR isn't such a big problem (all do it would be nice to have that) but the fact that lens contains older generation auto focus motor inside. Not only that makes the lens slow, bit it comes to compleate STOP at temperatures below 5C, from my experience. And THAT can drive me crazy...
Didn't realise that about the temps, thats a problem in the winter!
Nice review! 56mm is fast enough on the xt4 and it’s a portrait lens so you don’t need it to be fast focusing and you only need weather sealing on lenses you travel with
That 56 is a great great lens
Hey Eren! great video. I have gone thru a lot of lenses on fuji but keep going back to my 56mm f1.2 but as u said, its PROPER slow for street and even portraits so hoping for an updated version. The new 23mm f1.4 definitely interests as like u its great for street at night and i can have it for day also and its WR!
Big thanks David! hope you're well. Yh that 56 1.2 is magic!
Good stuff as per dude 💯👌
Big thanks brO!
I was going to wait for the new 23 but went with the 18/1.4 instead. I’m pretty happy using my X100V when I want the 35mm equivalent.
I really want to test that 18 out, have never used it
@@erenjam I just got it in. Looking forward to testing it out more, but I’m very happy with it so far.
I also like the xf23f2 and might grab the 1.4, However, not positive about embracing the concept of buying the X100V w a fixed 23mm f2 lens for $1400 in lieu of a XS10 with a 23mm f2 for $1500. The XS10 w/ i interchangeable lens, ibis, etc is well worth the extra $100. The size and weight are VERY close to each other and enjoy the lightweight and smaller form factor.
id always opt for an interchangeable over fixed unless there's a really good reason to get the fixed
Great video brother! I'm strictly using the 35f2, but I really want to add the new 18f1.4 and the 50f2 to my collection :)
The 50mmf2 is a great lens. @Sufstreet
The 18 looks interesting , yet to use it
Looking to get my first lens would recommend the 35mm 1.4 or if I had the cash just get the 33mm 1.4 LM WR
I’d save the money and get the 35 tbh, unless you know you gonna be shooting a lot in the rain etc
Sold my 23mmf2 to get the 35mm1.4 best swap ever. Always travel with 16mm1.4, 35mm1.4, 50mmf2 and 55-200mm @Sufstreet
Sounds a great set up
Have the 23 mm and 35 mm f2, but wishing for the Viltrox 56 mm to get an 85 mm focal length for street
Gotta give these Viltrox lenses a try
@@erenjam Maybe make a comparison video between the 56 mm 1.2 from fuji vs the Viltrox 56 mm 1.4, would love to know your opinion about it!
great video Eren, totally agree on the 35 1.4. Do you think nowadays is worth buying the old 56 1.2 used at half the price of the new 56 1.2 wr?
I just picked the old 56 1.2 up around a month ago and been using it pretty much every day :D
16mm 1,4....35mm 1,4...80mm 2,8....100400 mm ❤️❤️❤️
great selection
BEST summary thank you
Question;
Does it really make a huge difference when picking between f1.4 or f2.0 when it comes to city shots when low light?
Thanks
It does make a difference and these days I tend to use the 1.4 in low light - but, I've taken some of my favourite photos at night with the f2.
@@erenjam thank you 🙏
Another great vid Eren! Recently joined Fuji life and I really love 85 on full frame but the current XF 56 is quite dated, Kinda considering the XF 50 until the new 56 comes out with hopefully their newer focus & weather sealing would be awesome. Just like UK, Denmark gets it fair bit of rain :P
Haha , Yh it’s real annoying shooting with non WR lenses around here. There’s also a 50f1 but it’s pretty large
@@erenjam Yeah, kinda tired of big bulky lenses in street, I've used the canon EF 85 1.4, which is 950 grams for the lens alone and you're very easily noticed with big stuff like that :P Especially when living in a city with 100K ppl, in Copenhagen it's much easier to blend in even with bigger gear haha
Do you really need WR on a portrait lens?
@@Dumontjon While also using it for Portraits, I mainly use 85mm for street, no lens has a designated category on it, 85mm has a lot of uses due to that nice look it gives, hence I prefer a WR lens ^^
18mm F/1.4
23mm F/1.4 ii
56mm F/1.4 ii or 50mm F/1.0
Totally agree with the 35mm f1.4. Besides being a nice focal length for the stuff I do, I think it's an absolutely brilliant lens from a technical perspective...and can produce a distinctive character...BTW, I'm seriously considering buying a Leica SL (I need interchangeable lenses) as I really do think full frame images capture more dynamic and tonal range (you can't overcome physics) and wondered if you've ever compared them on the street ?
yet to use a Leica or a full frame camera for street, I am interested in trying Leica cameras out though, they look real good
tossing those lenses giving me a heart attack 😂
🤹🏻😅
Have you ever tried wider lenses, say 18/16mm, for your everyday photography?
I find it too wide for the type of photography I do, but lots of Street Photographers do enjoy shooting that FL
i love the color scheme you have in your street photos 😍 what preset is that? do you sell presets?
Huge thanks, Yh I sell a pack, the link is in the description 🙏🏼
Since I got the 16mm 1.4 I dont use that much de 23f2. I would take the 23f2 only when saving space.
Yet to try the 16 1.4. Meant to be one of the best on the Fujifilm system
@@erenjam really recommend to try it, close focus is insane for a wide angle.
Eren which printer is that in your 50/2 segment with all your photos?
Rookie photographer here, does the lack of WR on the 1.4 35mm make it unusable in rain even when holding an umbrella?
no, I use it pretty often with an umbrella of if its light rain, not had an issue
For streets, go with the Fujicrons everyday, all day long! :)
🙌🏼 classics
Bold title man lol! Very subjective matter
I’m looking to get the X-E4, which of these lenses would you recommend for night street photography? Thanx for your time!
35 1.5 would be my go too, but any of the fujifilm f2 lenses do a pretty good job too
Would you recommend those milameter zoom lenses to have all in one or is it better to be
Ave several lenses with different mm ranges ¿
For street I prefer primes, zoom for travel, both are good, go for what you enjoy using
You made an entire video on Fuji 90mm lens as your favourite street photography lens but no mention in this video? Will you still recommend the 90mm for street photography?
so many great lenses not in this list, the 90mm is great, a little on the large side but a great lens
Anyone can help? Now i had 18mm f2. But wanna get one more lens, my wish list would 35 F1.4 but kinda expensive for me😅but maybe viltrox 33mm or sigma 30mm… it’s my choices is good enough for street photagraphy or when im on holiday? Thank u
Both good choices
I know the 35mm 1.4 is not weather sealed, but is the build quality strong enough to handle a light drizzle? Or even an accidental bump or two? I keep thinking this is a very fragile lens haha
I've used it in a light drizzle, in the snow (with an umbrella) and its survived.
/I wouldn't call a screen on the XT-4 "Classic" If they do anything other than what they are currently doing I hope it's similar to the XT-3. But personally I hope they keep the screen similar to what they're doing currently on the 3.
true, the xt4 screen is great for video but I prefer the xt3 for photography too
What Do You Think About The 7Artisans Lenses Since It’s A Cheaper Choice For Those Who Don’t Have The Right Money To Buy Original Fuji Lenses, Well I Have The 25 MM 7ARTISANS And I Use It On My Fuji XE-1
It’s Kinda Hard To Nail A Perfect Focus In General But It’s A Sharp Lens When The Focus Is Nailed 100%. Can You Talk About This Line oF Lenses Since You Are A FujiFilm User
Thank You So Much ..
Yet to test out the artisan lenses, I am planning to make a video on them
Would you replace the 35mm with the new 33mm?
Going to stick with the 35 for now
As beginner, better 35mm f2 or f1.4?
f2, easier to use, faster and cheaper
35mm = 52.5mm full frame. What’s needed is a 30mm f2.0 or 45mm full frame.. If that ever happens then I will abandon my 27mm f2.8 for the 30mm f2.0.
Been meaning to test out the 27, looks a great little lens
16, 23, 56
Really need to test the 16 out
Definitely love the16mm 1.4
please tell me what filter it is❤ 1:33
No filter, edited using my presets
@@erenjam ok 😭
