A good body shop will tear it down to source all that clean metal so it shows their dedication to the cars and customer .. so hey bad news but good news because it shows how they are going to bring it up to par.. mickey spec..

Nstg8a I had that happen to me before I made he shop redo the area and buff the car again.. I can’t stand that .. they want to slap on bondo rather that rework the metal.. a little more time consuming but you end up saving on material .. can’t stand lazy people or lazy work ..

That's the cleanest I've seen the headquarters and shoot out to body shop, same to them minus the floors I've never seen a shop that didnt have car part and enourmous amount of unfinished cars. Granted it might just be camera beauty but grade a on clean working area.

Great video Mickey, and one I can relate to having owned over 30 cars since the 80's, its always nice to get intimate with a car, basically getting down to the bones per say, then moving forward, you know the car better than anyone else, the history is just that, history, but worth its weight in gold.
Oh, just watched a little more from the Mickey Garage, maybe a hint for the colour, Pearl white RX7? :P

Hey Mikey, the gold coloured line 3 mins in is from when the original roof is brazed onto the car, Toyota still brazes some of the roofs for their cars.

Hey Mickey are the fenders rolled on the FD, if not wouldn't this be a good time to have that done before it gets painted that way there is no risk of destroying the paint later on

I love me some fd rx7. Its a car i must own again wen i get the chance to get one. Used to have a fc rx7. The rear end kicks out nice and was a fancy car for its time period. Rotors are unbelievable on what a small 13b rotor can make power wise. So the 20b must be nuts

I had a 90 black fd and let it go bc nobody new how to fix it bought it for $500...had a 2nd opportunity on a 89 and someone got it before me then a rx8 that sold for 1700 with 41k on it...next one won't slip thru my fingers...cant wait to see the finished FD Mickey

A genuine Candy Purple might give the Red a run for its money, I did Powdercoating years ago and I coated half my Engine Candy Purple when it first came out and loads of people who saw how good it was wanted their Motor Bike frames and wheels done the same engine parts and BMX frames, the red was as popular with some yet the Candy Blue not nearly as popular.

I've seen the s14 a few times in tj's videos but I've never got a good look at it. After getting a good look at it in this video I have to say...courtney is one lucky girl to have a clean s14 like that. I've never really been a fan of the color white on cars but it fits that car.
And she has done some of the work herself!
Man same thing with my FD I found out after I bought it. The whole rear end and quarters were replaced. Sucks but hey, it is what it is.
