The energy issue could be addressed so much better by Building Regulations which are announced and applied with immediate effect. Solar or/and wind on EVERY new building whether or not Planning Permission has already been granted. We are still building houses today without such cleaner energy due to the granting of planning excusing the use on 'current' projects
I don't understand why private pensions are taxed. We are taxed on our income and pay tax on everything we purchase, yet we get taxed again on our private pensions, despite making the financial sacrifices needed to build a private pension fund. Seems very unfair to me.
You get tax relief when paying into your pension. Or you have an ISA out of your income after tax which doesn't get taxed on the way out. You literally pays your money and takes your choice
They're a bit stuck in my view. Normally you'd have a budget within 2 months. However , they probably couldn't have the budget much earlier because parliament wasn't sitting and recalling it during conference season might be awkward. They have shot themselves in the foot over winter fuel allowance. If they make any radical changes to pensions then they'd be well advised to phase it in or give decent notice so the change doesn't come in for a couple of years say.
In my opinion it’s been a total disaster, cutting the fuel allowance for all pensioners , giving train drivers a massive pay rise, then the fiasco of all the freebies, Taylor Swift tickets, you know the rest! And then there’s the budget in few weeks, which we are told it’s going to be very painful! It appears that people who voted for labour, are now feeling as if they are turkeys voting for Christmas 1 out 10 is my score.
I fully agree with the panels view. We do not have politicians of any colour that could run a tea party. Too many snouts in the trough, too many vested interests. We in Wales know all about this with the shambles that is the Sennedd. Not worth a light. Chris Norris
Govenment in a difficult position, there is a lot of work that is done which does not get media attention, we are not a rich country any more. Lets wait and see what happens in the budget.
Very well put together, I would also give Labour around a 3 out of 10 for the first 100 days….goodness knows what they are going to do with people like us who have worked hard all their lives 😂
I thought I joined TP to manage my money. Not to get political campaigns. Keep your politics to yourself. I noticed the labour bashing a couple of months before the election
Given the persisting global economic crisis, it's essential for individuals to focus on diversifying their income streams independent of governmental reliance. This involves exploring options such as stocks, gold, silver, and digital currencies. Despite the adversity in the economy, now is an opportune moment to contemplate these investment avenues.
Suggest you stick to investment strategy as you clearly know nothing about politics. If you want to turn off existing or potential clients, you're going the right way about it. Economic or fiscal policy is fair game, but Sue Gray and budget speculation are ridiculous topics. "You can have private sector without a public sector"... Good grief!
Totally agree with “ If you want to turn off existing or potential clients, you're going the right way about it. ” as a new TP client I am now considering if I have made the right choice in entrusting my investment with TP after listening to this.

The panel are correct to many quangos doing nothing and to many snouts in the trough

Good podcast with points made that most people will agree with. The Government is already in a mess and its only 100 days in.
Is this sponsored by the Daily Mail and Reform UK?

Good to hear some straight talking. Hopefully be a straight talking video after this shower have delivered a budget.
Cheer up folks. Pace yourselves, there's another 5 years of this.
Pension companies make a fortune with high charges

Best podcast so far :)

I’ve been speaking to a TP FA and will think hard about going with them. If this is their senior leadership, it’s 1/10
