This thing is ridiculous. It's dangerous, loud, probably on fire and attempts to eject the driver. I want it. Bad.
Obviously the K20 is brutal with the said mods but Swifter GTi on itsel with the 1.3 DOHC is suuuch a fun car, I bought one couple months and puts smile on my face everytime I drive it.

It's quite a task to jump into something this high strung and run such a quick time. I'd definitely want to get those belts squared away, if they are coming off when just driving I'd hate to see what happened if you really needed them. Also, I would highly recommend some sort of HNRS device for as much time as you spend on the track. Basilar skull fractures sound like no fun at all. $600 is a small price to pay to keep your skull attached to your spine. It only took me a couple of sessions to get used to my Necksgen Rev 2 Lite, now I hardly notice it.
Rotrex boosted cars are great on track. They have such a linear powerband, just as you described. Every time you put your foot down you get the same immediate response. There is a definite fun factor to turbocharged cars, but when you are trying to keep a car balanced on the limit I find that predictable and linear power is the way to go.

That Supercharger makes the K Swift sound like a Rally car, so good. Too bad about the technical difficulties, but still awesome! Also, a Speed Academy sticker of that size is worth at least 35-40 hp. Lol.

Amazing car and video but I really wish you would have stopped when the belts failed the first time. I personally know two people with traumatic brain injuries from track crashes, one of whom has to be cared for the rest of her life. Please guys always err on the side of safety, subbed.

I have a 1987 in my driveway. 1.0 3cyl @ a lot of psi on propane with a choppy cam and ALLLL the timing and now another blown head gasket. Shocker. I'm probably going to emulate this build next. I was thinking of a super turbo build but I just cant keep a head gasket to hold together for that. I'm also eyeing a 200hp+ hyabusa setup but I think Honda has more of the Kahunas that i need.

The rpm builds so fast at the top end, it sounded like it was slipping the clutch, though I'm sure it wasn't. So cool. Sequential next? ooooooo
This could be that both the engine and supercharger start peaking their efficiency.
Honda motors have a lot of power up high, and the Rotrex blowers make like 1-1.5psi per 1000 rpm.

My buddy has four or five of these things he also has a Metro convertible with a built turbocharged 1.3 out of a swift GT and he's converter that all wheel drive

I used to daily drive all year long a turbocharged swift gti, stock motor except pistons, a nodded gearbox and clutch.. It put around 240bhp, revved 9.800 rpm and shot flames like crazy.. After six years I decided to let it go, since I didn't get killed!!!
Especially on the winter it was a challenge, on frozen asphalt etc.. It was really balls out and funny, destroying evos out of nowhere

Wasn't this thing at this last PRI? Pretty sure I saw it there and had no idea what it was. Insane car
We just took my mates 500hp Rotrex Supercharged K20 Type-R to 3 Sisters circuit in Wigan last weekend- majority forged internals in the K20 so they were fine, but we fried the supercharger after only 3 laps. It's been on for a few years but this was first time it was tracked as far as we know (car came to us last year with charger installed). Oil circulation had failed and charger internals seized.
Careful what you do with your Rotrex, they do not seem as sturdy as the K20s they are attached to.
My pal looked as if he was going to go and hang himself afterwards hahahahaha

Really not trying to be that guy here but dude, if you’re going to be driving a car like that you need a Hans. Im a pro driving instructor by profession and I will not get into a race car without wearing a neck restraint. I’ve known a couple instructors in the industry that have been killed by not wearing a restraint. As someone that drives a lot of my clients cars, I know that you never go 10/10ths or take any risks. Regardless, in cars like this that really push the limits it’s so easy for something to go wrong that’s not even driver fault. As I’m sure you know. At those speeds the one wrong hit can be a serious injury or worse. There’s plenty of UA-cam videos that demonstrate this(search Hans vs no Hans crash). I don’t mean to be negative, just want to bring your awareness to a serious safety matter. I love your videos and I think you do awesome work! You guys build awesome cars, are extremely knowledgeable and seem like all around great people. If you have any interest doing a track day in the northeast, Watkins Glen probably being the closest, I operate a hpde organization and it would be great to host you guys there. Look forward to seeing more videos! Hopefully with a Hans in them 😉.
My recommendation is the Simpson Hybrid Hans. It’s what I personally wear. It works with both harnesses and a 3 point as well. I’d be happy to help set you up with one if needed.

Can you list everything he got done in the description box? What transmission does he have?
Might it be, that you are siting so close to the wheel that when turning you hit the latch and so opening the belts?
