- N/A 1990 Suzuki Swift Gti . 1.3 litre stock engine . Swift built by Kevin Stittle and raced by Andrew Stittle . In this video you can see the Nissan Gtr Struggling to keep any distance on the Swift . Sure the Gtr pulls away pretty hard in the straights but its power is no match for skill !

Props to the Swift. Rather slow track though for a heavy and powerful car like the GTR. This is swift territory.

I owned 2 gtis. Both japanese version 89 g13b epi! My favorite car so far. Fwd, 100hp and 110 ft torque! Very easy engine to work with and very reliable.

Great little car you have there. Please review your steering habits though. Unless you have a higher ratio rack you will need to grab a bit more steering before you turn in. That is on a left turn drop your right hand down and your left up before the turn in. keep your thumbs on the rim not inside. You will never stop learning which is always fun.
Most of the time you catch people talking s+++ about Suzuki. Wait a minute you say Hayabussa ?...And the brain flips 180 degrees over. Oh that's fast! All i have to say if you never driven a SSGTI balls to the wall. where does your hate come from?

Lightweightness, that's the secret, is a known fact that a good engine on a light car can beat anything heavier, also is quite forgiving on mistakes, and actually it looks that he's not even trying hard, just another sunday driving down the road. :)

The G13K is for the JDM Suzuki Cultus
The G13A(carb) and G13BA(Mono point injection) are for the standard swift
The G13BB is only featured in 2001/2002 swifts

the gearbox is a bolt on, but you will need to change sensors, ecu, wiring loom, exhaust and intake, the intake tubing, fuel tank.
If you want to swap the front brakes you need different knuckles and axles.
+Mitchell Watkins ITS A NIGHTMARE! Easy as anything on paper but an endless saga sourcing bits and pieces, I put one in a 5 door Holden Barina, it FLEW when it was actually running, if you are insistent on doing it try and find a front half cut so you can swap everything you need over as finding parts these days is more difficult, if you can't at least try and find a 5peed box for a g13b as the box for a g13ba is phyisically the same the ratios are not, 2nd gear syncro is also weak and is the first to go (I went through 5 rebuilds)

Racetrack is out of any financial responsibility. No one can be sued or made responsible for the damage of other vehicles (except damages with intention). Every normal track or event major let you sign a paper saying this sentence, before you enter the track.
I've driven the GTR, It's nothing compared to a good momentum driver in a lightweight track rat.
I prefer the e30 chassis.

Non driving ass in the gtr. I have an 89 swift too, the track officials should have pulled the gtr off the track for obstructing. What track was this? I'll be at Road America in Wisconsin this summer. The swift is almost track ready!

So not only are UA-cam trolls expert mechanics, they're apparently driving instructors too lol. Anyway awesome car! You just don't expect a little 1.3 Swift GTi (even one with loads of mods including a turbo) to be on the tail of a GTR hahahaha

MaimunR Yeah it's an impressive little car that utilizes mini-maximalism. Power to weight and handling are what this car is all about. Sure on the highway a modern day V8 pickup will give it a run, but in the corners this little guy really shines.
***** if you own one . I can tell you that a ssgti can keep up with a diesel truck @ 120 mph. I know I live in Texas.
My 89 swift GTi screams at 115mph and STILL wants to pull. Chipped, it redlines at 8900 rpm. Being a 20 year professional mechanic, I'm taking my time to build mine properly and I'll be on the track at Road America this summer in Wisconsin. Parts are getting harder to find these days tho...

funny all the comments about the steering wheel and how crossing your arms is dangerous when its exactly the correct way to do it. Anyeone wondering why can ask and i will tell ya.
P.S. put about 5 more pounds of air pressure in the rear tires to make that back end come around, drive the car loose and your lap times will come down (when you get comfortable with it)

well you can tell the GTR guy is new by his driving. his pace is very passive.
the suzuki guy drove well of course, but it's nothing from another world.
you cant go wrong with Suzuki. every thing they make is for having fun. weather off road 2 wheels or the track!

what are the mods to the GTi?
It is the stock 1.3 twin cam with a cold a air intake , header and catless exhaust . As for handling it has coilovers , big brake upgrade and good track tires .

waz00z ya they are sweet lil cars . this guy has had his since 2000 and still races it each summer . only blew 1 engine so far from a mis-shift . wicked track cars for the money

if he actually pushed the car and used better driving lines, the GTR would have vanished.
I know this is a 2 year old post, so this is less for you more for anyone else who may come across this
But
Give him a break. We all have to learn some how. No one is born a Micheal schumacher- They have to learn. Heaven forbid someone not want to push their 100k sports car as fast as someone wants to push their POS suzuki- and is new / learning / just having fun. Should they have allowed the following car to pass? Absolutely. But its up to other drivers, and the event officials in particular, to help instruct and correct this behavior. This individual is there to learn- and good on them for doing so at a track with safety crews and supervision, and off the streets.
