I went for the GO 2 and I love how convenient it is to post on Instagram. I just connect the device to my phone, download the stabalised video and upload onto Insta. I found that ND filters remove the Jello and I put foam in between the mount and frame to absorb some vibrations. I'd probably buy a Gopro just for the 4k / 5k quality.
Excellent video man. You helped me pick the camera i needed. Just 1 thing, regarding quality. While the gopro sensor can shoot 5k, both cams have same size sensor. Given if all other things are equal, perceived resolution will be neglectable between the two devices due to signal/noise ratio being much much higher on the gopro(this is because each pixel is about 2 times smaller). Now not all other things are equal, but too complex to discuss here.
In addition, there's all the other different hardware like the lens and processing capabilities. The GO2 is limited in resolution due to the small size and inability to get rid of the heat build up for 4K video.
The go2/peanut is perfect for the average pilot. 99% of us just post to UA-cam so people won’t be able to tell much of a difference and at 150$ cheaper, the go2 is the winner in my opinion. Nice video man
Yeah considering 99% posting only to UA-cam or Instagram and don't even have a lot of followers the Go2 is good enough. Saves weight so longer flight times. Better flight performance. But so many will just swear they need it. I use go2 a lot . And hero9 when I need the better quality. Usually entering competitions or sending video thru drive or Dropbox so quality doesn't lower
@@AlbertKimTV thanks for all your reviews. I don’t know if you have any contact with insta360 but if you do maybe you could relay a msg. We need a firmware update that lets us save manual settings to iso/shutter speed and such. It sucks having to open the app and make adjustments every time. The automatic mode doesn’t always work well
@@CrimsonGhostfpv that be great. But not firmware. On app.. sometimes I use provid without app and don't want it locked at yesterday or this morning settings.. just maybe when connected to app it default to last settings. But not when not connected to app
does the insta 360 go2 really have a problem with jello? is therefore an nd filter mandatory or can you use it without setting it beforehand and without getting jello? :) I ask because I want to buy one
The jello is from vibrations so if the mounting is good enough to dampen the vibrations there is no jello. The problem is most people hard mount the camera to the drone so you see a lot of footage with tons of jello.
@@AlbertKimTV ok big thanks i just print a damped tpu mount for the insta I will test it after I get the insta :) I also never hard mount my action cam like the Gopro7/10
Love go2 saves me so much weight especially since it's on the nose and dead cats are already nose heavy. Since usually just posting to UA-cam that lowers quality anyway it isn't bad. I'm not using it for work I don't need that extra good quality most the time. Go2 can go on all my drones from tiny whoops to 7" I use my hero9 when I need great quality like entering a video competition. Or just want a real nice one to send people . Hero 9 has more option on adjusting video settings. Go2 is limited in shutter and white balance choices. Gopro also has higher dynamic range and better flat/log profile. For post production
You mean the rubber band? Or the one on the Diatone? That was sent with the drone as part of the review. I guess you can ask Diatone support where they got it.
Thanks for the great channel! Question, I’m relatively new to the hobby and was looking to get the dji goggles v2. Also want the dji controller. However, dji now has the dji fpv v2 controller. I’m not sure if I were to buy the dji fpv v2 controller, if later I get a non-dji drone from another company such as geprc, if it’ll be compatible with the v2 controller. Just a little concerned about the compatibility between different manufacturers radio’s, receivers and drones. Any advice on using the dji fpv system (v2 controller, air unit and v2 mask) with other company’s drone (geprc, iflite …)? Any suggestions would be highly appreciated. Nate
Don’t get the dji fvp controller it wil not be compatible with the caddx landscape, it will not be supported. If you want to stay dji get the normal dji remote this works for all vista combo’s out there or go with alternative multi protocol ones.
Love your channel, you've been super helpful with getting me back into FPV after being away for 6 years. Quick question, are you exporting the GO 2 footage on the smartphone app? I noticed there's no horizon lock export option on the Insta360 studio desktop app which is what I'd prefer for the ability to export in ProRes.
With the latest version of the app you can choose horizon lock or FPV stabilization and you can export in ProRes422 which is what I do before I edit in Premiere.
Man I used to fly the GO on my 5", and while flight times weren't necessarily affected, the quad feels more responsive and seems to fly so much better with less weight on the nose. Of course I broke the damn thing so I'm back on the Hero 8. But I'll be getting the Caddx Peanut when possible.
The go 2 is my preferred route: Less mass, "cheaper", and similar results. Every tool has its purpose, so if you're doing pro work then GoPro. Great video Albert!
Hi. I was close to buy a session 5 to replace my insta 360 go v1. But you make me hesitate... I really dislike the 25fps of my insta v1. That's why I plan to buy a GoPro for 60-90fps. Your record are at 50fps? Any difference between 50-60fps? And about image quality what do you think about session5 Vs go2? Thanks in advance.
I have a hero 9 and a Go2. The big thing for me is the stabilisation. Hyper smooth looks so much better to me, flowstate is too robotic for my tastes, I wish you could dial it back a bit. I prefer the image out of the hero 9 too, but you can’t go past that weight difference, especially on something like a 2Fiddy. So if it can carry it, I’ll go for the hero, but if weight is a priority, Go 2.
@@AlbertKimTV for some reason it doesn't work well for me. I get a lot of twitching at the edges. I'm going to try creating a lens profile with the ND filters I use, maybe there some optical distortion happening.

Excellent explanation and demonstration of the pros and cons of these two different cameras. Side by side I prefered the Gopro look. But truthfully I'd be happy with either. And as for the only one camera choice, the the insta360 would be mine. Just so versatile and reasonably good image quality. Happy flying everyone. 🤓
