S2000 with dragging rear brakes

  • This custom came all the way from New York for a LHT /Kraftwerks build.
    He selected a few extra including a little more power.
    It wasn't until we had finished, we found the rear brakes to be dragging . I think it would have made some more if this was corrected.
    This used the C38-91 blower, LHT Custom intake manifold and bored out OEM Throttle body.

      Yes that's exactly what I'm doing. They obviously love what they do and are good at it. Its hard to find a good performance shop because you don't know who they really are. Videos solve this issue by giving us visual confirmation that they do good work

    Been watching your builds for S2000 projects over the last week since I am in the market now.... I just want to say you make excellent videos and run an excellent shop. I just moved to Venice FL a couple months back, and I am thrilled that I now don't need to ship my car over 1000 miles to use you guys... :) Probably going to be next year sometime when I am ready for the boost but I am coming for one of your centrifugal kits... Thanks for posting all these.

    Damn it. I'm going to be getting my uncle's '91 crx si, hopefully in the next couple months. With 32,000 original miles, it's showroom perfect. Everything is factory stock, and although it's low miles, it's all nearly 30 years old.
    LHT is the only shop I would trust to go through it thoroughly with love and close attention.
    The problem is I'm in southern California.
    You know how expensive it's going to be to ship my car to Florida and back every time I need a service?
    It would probably be cheaper and easier to ship John and his minions back and forth.
    How about it guys? I'll fly you first class and put you up in a proper hotel. Make sure you guys have a proper shop to work in.... Huh huh?
    No really, when I know exactly when I'll be getting the car I'll be emailing you....

    • @LHTPerformance
      @LHTPerformance  6 років тому +5

      That sounds like a great car. I have owned and worked on many CRXs and still have a soft spot for them. I don't want sound like I'm bragging, but I was possibly the first to make AC fit with a B18c1( 1995), first ITR Hydro , First Jackson racing blower on a B18C( 1998) conversion (1998) , and did 100s of B motor swaps. I used to try and make the CRX an ITR but be 100% OEM feel. I should make a video about them. I know there's many CRX fans out there.

    • @EdwardFeenman
      @EdwardFeenman 6 років тому

      LHTPerformance I've had 4 crx's all of them 1991 si, 1 b18c type r, 1 b18a1 turbo, 1 b16a5 turbo, 1 b20/gsr head sleeved block full on drag race set up. More aftermarket than Honda. 590whp dyno-jet.
      I've been trying to buy my uncle's crx since I turned 16, so literally 22 years now. Its maybe 91.5 out if 100 in showroom freshness. It's almost perfect. I want to make it 100/100 you know. That's probably not actually possible but it's my desire.
      It's always been garaged, it has only ever been serviced at Honda, I think it had a 30k mile service at like 15k and probably 15 years ago.
      I watch your videos, I know how you work, and I want you work on it. It's really no big deal to throw it on a truck, fly out there and knock it out. I've always wanted to do some Florida sport fishing anyways.
      Anyways man. I respect what you guys do. And I'll shoot you an email or give you a call when I have it in hand.

    Thanks for going into detail on the different Clutch Masters kits, I've learned more about them through your videos than anywhere else, including Clutch Masters themselves. I had the FX300 and aluminum flywheel and had issues and replaced it with the FX250 on the reps recommendation. Never got a straight answer for the failures after sending it all back for inspection to them but the FX250 is doing well so far. Do you guys run the lightened flywheels on the S2000's?
    When should I be looking at going return fuel line setup? Only if I can't hold proper AFR's? I can hold 11.5-1 to 6800 redline 10PSI on the return-less stock pump stock rail with RDX's on my Kraftwerks C15-60 equipped 07'FIT, anything to worry about not having an FPR under that setup? Tuned on Hondata BTW.
    Thanks for all the quality content LHT team!

      GSHeverything _27 The SC goes on top of all the pulleys or shares the belt with the water, crank ect. These aren’t the traditional blowers where they eliminate the IM and sit on top. Buuut, perhaps the larger IM and TB did the trick. 🤔

    As long as you keep the stock feed line gas hose going to the fuel rail,there is no benefit going with a return system flow wise.
    The max volume allowed by the section of stock hose will be the same.
    The only limiting factor will be the pump until the stock feed line become too restrictive.
    cooler fuel and less evaporation knowing gas spend less time in the rail,than on a naturally aspirated set up ?

    • @LHTPerformance
      @LHTPerformance  6 років тому

      michaelovitch You are incorrect. I’m not getting into an ‘ internet debate ‘ . My data is hands on many many builds and tunes. But thanks for you comment 😐

    • @michaelovitch
      @michaelovitch 6 років тому

      There is no debate.
      A feed hose section have flow limits.
      Saying it can bring more fuel because you have a return downstream is incorrect.
      You have more fuel because you changed the pump,and didn't reach the feed line flow limit,not because you have a return line.
      i agree on fuel temps ,but not on flow.

    Stock internals can handle around 700-800hp so why do I never see a large HP build by you guys? It's always a conservative 300-400hp. If I brought my S2K in could you do 600+ hp build?

      I think 400HP is very well balance for the S2000. You can drive it everyday and is very predictable and well balanced.

      Unfortunately that isn’t a car I could provide you with. I could help locate an S2000 if needed.
