  • Not an official tutorial but a response to a query I had from Roderick Davidson on my previous "Metronome not working" video about the click track being so faint it was inaudible. Thought I might as well share it with the rest of you.

Thanks so much for doing this, I should have said in my question that I had already tried metronome setup and reinstalling the interface driver. I'm betting that it's something staring me in the face.

As a stop gap you could run it in Midi Mode and set up an instrument with sounds to use instead of the inbuilt click track. Just wondering if when you alter the volume in the setup screen does it actually lower the volume or does it stay the same? That might suggest some sort of routing issue of the sounds themselves.

@@MoonhareStudio I've figured it out. It's my headphones or the input to my UR 242. The first thing I did when I couldn't hear the click was plug my headphones into something else and they were working. I didn't try wiggling the plug after I plugged it back in. I'll try some WD40 on the plug, hopefully that will be all it needs. Thanks for your help.

@@rodav It's always the simple things that catch you out. But glad it is sorted.

    hi M8
there is also a button in the mixer..
if you have the "control room" activated there is a volume Fader for the click (and a pan) in fact there are click faders for all the outputs in your cntrl room outs
eg . cues 1-3 headphones and master outs
    ..hope this helps
    Cheers

Hey Tony, thanks for that suggestion. I have Elements (10) so no control room. Is there a fader for the click somewhere else ?

      @@rodav hi
i have no clue about Elements ,however i looked up on the forum and found this.:
The metronome volume can be changed under “Transport” (in the upper menu bar)-> “Metronome Setup”-> “Click Outputs” --> “Beeps” --> “Level”.
      Greetings,
      try that
also silly question but is the click on ??
sometimes there is more than one place to turn on the click
      also .....
in the prefs there is another thing that may be the cause of your probs.
in pro and artist (i hope elements ) there is a button that turns on the audition media bay etc that sometimes has a factor in the click patching..
let me look where it is and i will post my findings
