    I suffer with tension from my face down to my lower back because of my desk job, poor posture and excessive jaw clenching (it's how I find comfort when resting) when awake and asleep. I will give you advice a shot and get back to you in a couple of days.
    God bless you.

    This is great!! I pretty much ALWAYS have tension in my throat muscles and my vocal teacher just says to stop using my abdominals when I sing which I always find such difficult advice (especially with all the diaphragmatic breathing tutorials out there) the mum exercise made me feel so open and no strain at all! Wow!

    just keep practising and practising and you’ll find higher notes easier day by day , start with songs around D4-F#4 chorus for men and get good at that first forget B4 and all that for now , everyone’s in a rush , thinking about stuff will just hold you back listen to your voice as you sing and correct it day by day , do it again you’ll improve .

    This has been amazing! Just what I needed. Can you make more videos about this? More exercises, I need to strengthen those muscles that keep the throat open. I feel like I lose the space very easily during a song and then I don’t know how to bring the palate back up unless I completely stop and start over again, which of course I can’t do in the middle of the song, so sometimes when it drops I have to struggle all the way to the end of the song… how do I keep it up all the time?

    Wow! This is a very simple awareness that nonetheless never occurred to me---! I was always focused on space in the ribs/diaphragm mostly; and any space-in-throat considerations were always linked to manipulating the up-down/back&forth of the tongue and larynx, never BREATH as the tool for AWARENESS of throat space!!! It seems so obvious once it is spelled out, thank you. And what a simple way to maintain relaxation.😊❤

    Thank you for the video. You mention that the larynx should go down when inhaling. I can do that, but when I sing in my head voice (as in your ma ma ma... exercise), my larynx goes up, and that seems to be necessary to produce sound in that range. Is that true, or was your larynx down when you sang in that range?

      @SingForReal  Місяць тому +1

    • @SingForReal

    Hello,
    Thank you very much for sharing. This is exactly what i was looking for.
    My vocal range goes from D2 (C1 with fries) to C#5 but i struggle to reach those high notes without having to yell and to squeeze my throat.
    This really helped. I can feel the difference even after only 15 mins of practice.
    Its drastically smoother, less painfull, more in tune and so on.
    Now the only thing is that it requires a lot of air, and i find this difficult while singing long phrasings (especially high pitched ones). So if you have some tips to sustain/spare the air volume, i'd appreciate!
    (Secret goal is to sing this: ua-cam.com/video/PptQJv4wxdg/v-deo.html&ab_channel=BrandonAcker)

      @@SingForReal can you tell me one thing? From childhood i have spoken very low and people have told me to speak louder. Can it be a reason that my breath is lacking when I sing. My middle octaves are really locked. I can sing high but not glide from low to a bit high

      @@dr.football4662 Hey, that is VERY typical. I do think it is not your breathing that is lacking, but voice technique. In this case your body doesnt know how to navegate between vocal registers or transitions (bridges or pasagios). I´ll be doing videos about how to start to open that mid range and how to adapt and learn about this trouble part of the voice. That is my main area of research as a teacher, so I PROMISE that it will be covered. Can I use your question to create the next video?

    It's kind of hard to do the exercises when commercials interrupt them.

      I don’t have yet the possibility to change the ads. When the channel gets a bit bigger they will allow me to do so!
