My tips as a 36 year old mom of two:
1.) Coconut oil is an amazing makeup remover. Make sure to follow it up with a gentle cleaners like Cera Ve.
2.) The best sunblock is the one you will wear every day.
3.) Only exfoliate once or twice a week.
4.) GET YOUR NECK AND CHEST
5.) Drink water and you are what you eat.
6.) Warm water is enough for a rinse in the morning.
7.) Check your sunglasses against your phone. Turn the screen. If the screen doesn't go dark, the sunglasses will NOT protect your eyes and just dilate your pupils allowing for more damage.
8.) Do as little as heat as possible on your hair and be gentle with the hair, while stimulating the scalp.
9.) BONUS: Smile lines are FINE and just speak to a good life.

      Great tips!
Just be careful with the coconut oil. I'm a skin care professional. Coconut oil is very comedogenic meaning it will clog your pores and lead to some bad break outs. For some people it totally is fine, and will be ok. but for a lot of people it's a nightmare! There are a lot of other different oils that are much better for face skin! Also if you are using a very gentle exfoliator you can use it daily. 😄

    2. Style your hair - hairspray, mousse, curling the ends, etc
    3. Be healthy - weight, diet, exercise, etc
    4. Lighter hair is not always flattering

I'm a brunette, from the USA, and honestly I had no idea people wanted lighter hair. I was told once by a hair stylist I should get highlights, but I told her I loved my dark mahogany hair and didn't want to ruin it so I could look like every other girl at my high school 🤷‍♀️. There is a saying here "blonde's have more fun", but that was always a cheeky reference to how slutty blonde women supposedly are.

Beauty advice #6: your attitude. I’ve learned this from you Caitlyn. Your cheerfulness and positivity makes you radiant and your bright smile adds more beauty than any lipstick or gloss. The hair color advice is so true. I used to lighten my hair and I look much better with my natural brunette hair! I didn’t know how much losing weight would help my confidence and “glow.”
I was more in the mindset of “because I gain weight all over my body evenly and I am tall, I look fine!” And I did, I had an hourglass shape and weight in the places where it is “popular.” But I look so much better 30 pounds lighter. I still have my same figure, but it is even more defined and my facial features look better too. It’s hard to accept that we need to lose weight, because society really tells us we’re perfect just the way we are! And while I agree, beauty is at every size, a healthy weight is beautiful, and you will feel so much more confident.

Hello from Pennsylvania! My best beauty tip actually has nothing to do with skin care, but it actually has to do with how you feel about yourself and how you project those feelings to others. Okay, here goes...every morning I put on a decent outfit, some makeup, and fix my hair. And every evening I wear nice pajamas. This is something that I learned from my grandmother who always put her best face forward. She would always say that when you look your best everyone around you will see that you feel your best. God bless and I hope that is helpful.

When I was a child, my mother told me many times that men only liked her because she was blonde with a large chest, and that I am lucky being brunette because then men will love me for who I am. This created a complex for me. Honestly, you are the epitome of what I've always wanted/want to look like. You DO look like barbie. Your tall, I'm 5"1', your blonde, I have dark brown hair, you have a larger chest, mine is larger now but most of my life I wore a B cup. I'm 48 and to this day I struggle with this. I hear you that lighter hair doesn't make you better looking, but I still cannot believe it. Not sure how to get past this. I do love that you are pointing out that this light hair is better stereotype is wrong. You have some great advice!!

Hello! I did this over the course of the last three years ☺️ from hoodies and sports shorts to now I wear blouses, floral skirts and dresses with a 40's wartime gardener flair. Still learning and working out what fits to my lifestyle and style. Thrifting is your best friend to try out new styles and types of clothes! My advice is start small, just like a cute top and jeans and ankle boots with a small gold necklace or stud earrings and lip gloss with a bun.
Adding small jewelry, a lip colour (I use coloured Chapsticks) and do your hair nicely to a simple black tee and jeans and ballet flats will always look nice but not feel "flouncy" cause that can feel really awkward to start

I'm not Mrs Midwest, but I'd start by figuring out your body type and what would look most flattering on you. There are all kinds of resources online for figuring that stuff out, but you can start with just "where do I want the waistline of my clothes?" and "is my skin warm toned (looks best with gold) or cool toned (looks best with silver)?" Then you could try making a Pinterest board of outfits you like that meet those general rules. Then look for the basic items everyone on your board is wearing and invest in a few of those, making sure they're comfy and don't have any special washing instructions. I try to steer clear of statement pieces for the most part because it is easy to accumulate too many and then it's hard to match an outfit. 🤷🏻‍♀️ and also learn how to do your hair. I struggle a lot with hair... but it does make a big difference. Even a pretty masculine outfit can look feminine with a nice hairstyle

In my 30s the most impactful thing I have learned, and highly suggest to give a try, is Kibbe body system. Learning about my body lines
has helped me to dress, do my makeup and my hair accordingly to that type, which made a lot of sense why certain styles did not look good on me. Also, another lifechanging thing, was to learn my color season, which also made sense why the most of my clothes made me look dull, because they were not in my color palette! There are a lot of youtube videos about these topics, but Ellie Jean's is one of my favourite!

But I have a tip for you: It helps a lot if you can find out whether you are yin or yang dominant...that alone helps you a lot to wear the right kind of clothes.
In my case, it also helped me to "read" the current fashion better, almost everything is very yang dominant, and since I have a lot of ying looks, it doesn't work that well on me.
I used to often wonder why the same clothes didn't look "edgy", "casual" or "cool" on me, and got tips from friends that were completely wrong for me...most of what fits Ying elements can I wear well.

    esthetician here!
    1. always always double cleanse! the first cleanse (oil cleanser or balm) should be to remove makeup or spf (should be wearing this everyday) and then after that first cleanse, you go in with your actual cleanser designated for your skin type or concerns. ALSO, please avoid makeup wipes! they're bad for your skin (is just moving product around and tugging at the skin) and also bad for the environment so try only using these in emergency situations.
    2. toning isn't necessary but it can definitely help with product penetration and hydration! also don't use toner before retinol and only apply your retinol on DRY skin
    3. WEAR SUNSCREEN!! like Caitlin said, the sun causes the majority of premature wrinkles so make sure to wear your spf 30+ on not only your face but also neck, décolleté, and hands.
    4. speaking of hands, any leftover product you may have on your hands after your routine, just apply to the back of your hands :)

Love this, Caitlin! One of my key takeaways is: finding out what works for you with YOUR specific skin tone, hair type, colour season, body type, etc., rather than trying to conform to the trends or something you saw and thought was pretty on someone else who looks nothing like you, as everyone is so unique. What will look great on one person might not be best on you because you’re a completely different person. This is something I definitely had to learn in my young adult life!
Also the comment about not shying away from makeup. I feel I grew up in a timeline where it was seen as a negative to be girly and wear make up and dresses because it means you’re “high maintenance” and therefore not cool. It was better to be the chill girl who didn’t care, and somehow was gorgeous without having to or caring about doing anything to her appearance. This made it so even into my young adult life I felt very self-conscious about the amount of time or effort I wanted to put into my make up and hair routine. This is actually a specific topic that you helped me to embrace about myself! Now I see it as leaning into my femininity and as a positive, and it has helped me to carry myself better about it. I have been better able to receive compliments about how I am always so put together and elegant looking, rather than immediately feeling self-conscious about them noticing that I care about those things. Total game-changer!
You look lovely as always, and I absolutely adore that colour top on you!

I never really was super into beauty/makeup until I became a mother! I know moms usually don’t have time for much and it’s often the opposite for many, however, because of limited time, I realized how important beauty and skin care is and just taking care of myself is. It makes all the difference in my mood - just some concealer, mascara, and lip gloss makes me feel SO much better. Sending you love and happy happy birthday!! 💗💗

Beautiful advice from a beautiful daughter of the Most High God Christ Jesus! Thank you for this, my 86 year old Grandmother taught me very similar beauty advice that I think has definitely contributed to me getting married at 25.
    1. Don’t smoke/ don’t drink - steals your looks as time goes by.
    2. Eat healthy and active/eat in moderation/ learn to cook your own food well - stay trim ( Fruits and veggies are your friend)
    3. Be ladylike, of service and hospitable!
    4. GO TO SLEEP ON TIME! 7-8 hours let your body regenerate.
    5. Drink lots of water!
Honor your genetics ladies and the unique beauty God gave you!
I’m still learning to get in the habit of using natural sunscreen as an African American woman but I’m getting there!
I hope tips here in the comments section help a lovely lady meet and marry her Prince Charming and improve your own life as well! Glad to be gorgeous with you all!

I’m older and people ask me all the time what I do and use for my skin. My best tip to eat lots of ‘organic’ , non processed, whole food diet. The more fruit and veggies ( especially leafy greens..kale, chard etc.) and dark fruit like blueberries and cherries and raspberries the more ‘antioxidants’ that you consume. Antioxidants are literally what stop, prevent and can reverse aging including skin. I also do not eat ANY fast food and almost no processed food and only high quality ‘restaurant food’ 2-3 times per year. People eat a ‘standard North American’ diet which includes mostly processed food and expect to look healthy or expect some lotion or potion to fix their skin. Also, keeping your major detox organs in tip top, healthy shape is also what keeps skin healthy and glowing. Liver and lymph detoxes and a detox lifestyle is essential to real health. Most skin issue come from a sluggish liver.

Hey girl, your hair is amazing!
I’m a hairdresser from AUS, if you’re finding your hair breaking or being brittle, you can rinse your hair without shampoo and just use conditioner. In between your washing days.
Massage the oils through the hair in the shower, like your washing and then condition it. It can be a good way to drag the oils through without brushing and breaking the hair.
Also some good scalp/ hair treatments
Kevin Murphy plumping spray (Scalp treatment/ but also a styling tool when hairs wet before blowwaving) helps plump the actual hair strands, creating volume but is also a treatment.
K18, an alternative for conditioner. Used every wash for x4 washes then every 2 weeks after that.
It helps get into the bonds of the hair and repair them. xxx

I use castor oil now every single night and it makes my eyelashes super long and my skin glowy in the morning and I feel like it’s preventative for aging! So true about weight loss, I actually lost about 90 pounds after gaining it all in like a period of two years…but getting down to this weight is amazing and I still have that extra last stretch to go I can tell so much how my face fluctuates with my weight and I do look more beautiful at a lower weight. I don’t wear make up because honestly I feel like I look so much worse not as pretty after foundation but sometimes at work will do like mascara and pink lip gloss, that’s what I love is pink lip gloss!!! And skin care fo sho but I really appreciate your video it just pulled me out of my little bit of despondency today and I washed my hair and face have a face mask on and am gunna do my best for tonight at church lol!!! God bless :)

I’m 41 with older children. Here are my best beauty tips I’ve learned over the years:
    1. Get at least 7 hours of sleep. Have a glorious bedtime routine. My bedtime routine involves a bath, lotion all over my body and a beautiful vintage nightgown. This makes me feel pampered!
    2. Invest in a dyson airwrap. Will seriously change your hair life and you can use it on completely dry hair and it will still curl it with less damage.
    3. I love pairing oils with moisturizers. My favorite combo lately is jojoba oil with vitamin e cream on top. I’ve tried everything from La mer to Estée Lauder and for me the natural stuff works better. It’s all about what works for you.
    3. Having said that, try not to use skincare that has fragrance. Because it’s drying and irritating.
    4. No Botox! I have never used it and I don’t plan on it. It makes women over time look harsh.
    5. On days where I don’t have time for a full face, I use a drugstore cream blush on my lips and cheeks and I have an instant glow. It’s important to let yourself have days where you don’t wear makeup to let your face rest and also so when you do wear makeup you feel like a queen!
    6. My full face is still natural and elegant. I really like the soft glam makeup look by the UA-camr Anife. I watch it and use the products I have and I look amazing every single time. (Sometimes you can just replace what they use with what you have. Makeup is all about experimenting)
    7. When the greys start to sprinkle in don’t freak. Embrace. I have a few grey at my temples and they are gorgeous. I still wear my hair in braids, curl and style. The key here is to keep styling your hair! And keep it healthy. If you go grey and stop styling you will just look frumpy. That’s not a great look. Basically by embracing what God has given you, you will always look better and healthier! ❤

To add on - With #1, Double cleansing usually means an oil-based cleanser (to break up oil and makeup) and then a water-based cleanser for the final wash (since this wasn't clarified in the video). With #2, always let your stylist how much time you're willing to spend on styling your hair. If you're a "wash and go" gal like me, you don't want a high-maintenance haircut that looks terrible without product and lots of styling.

I’ve always had natural highlights (or dirty blonde hair) but years ago I used to do heavy sun-in, heavy highlights, etc, but ever since I stopped dying my hair it has grown light brown from the roots and TELL ME WHY it looks so much better with my skin tone?!😂 I mean, yes I used to make it blonder, but it also used to BE blonder naturally. My beauty advice:
Vaseline!!! It is the best eye make up remover, helps healing scars all over body,
Salicilic acid face wash: perfect after you picked on yor skin, also after phisical body exfoliacting because it has antibacterial effects (helps preventing acne)
Try avoiding picking/ touching your face
Wash hair with body was! Makes iit less oily. Avoide mouisterisng body washes ofc
Consider the climate! The air in your home really affects ur skin condition, if it is dry consider having a humidifier (a glass of water is enough too)
