Dude, hearing this I'm glad those were still alive when I started getting known football. It would've been scary hadn't they existed when people talked about Ronaldo, Henry, Kaka, or Messi as some of the greats during their era. And I hope we won't lose another legend for at least 3-4 years, but I'm being pessimistic about it now.

He´s a German (Hamburg) legend who only ever played for the same club, despite getting huge offers from international clubs.
He is one of 6 Honored Captains of the german national Team beside Fritz Walter, Lothar Matthäus, Jürgen Kliensmann, Phillip Lahm and of course Franz Beckenbauer.
He became part of the national Team when he was 17 and Captain at 24/25. He was also the first top scorer in the first Bundesliga season, sadly he passed away in 2022.

I’m so pissed that nobody told me that one of the goats died last week, no news no notifications no nothing. But anyways rip, the thing I will remember about him will always be his badassery in the 1970 World Cup semi aka the “game of the century” where he dislocated his shoulder yet kept playing as germanys last man of defense, he was the king of sweepers for a reason. he was like some sort of badass anime character. I might be Italian but………..I respect the hell out of that man.

Love your videos. However, it's important to note that Beckenbauer nearly transferred to Inter, not AC Milan as mentioned. Additionally, Uwe Seeler never played for Bayern, so he couldn't have gotten sore after playing against Atletico Madrid.

I read AC Milan in a lot of places, I guess it's a common misconception. When it comes to Seeler, I mean you're right I have no idea how it didn't hit me that he couldn't have said that like that, but the quote is real, at most I've mistranslated it? Maybe he was telling it in the third person? idk, regadless, I'm sorry for the mistake.

@@DailyDoseOfFootballYTHe almost played for Inter. Beckenbauer revealed himself decades ago that his big dream was to play for Inter and alongside Fachetti or Suarez.

Never has there been another player, who moved so graciously around the field. Everything he did looked so effortless. Incredible player. Him and Cruyff are my all-time favourites. I was lucky to see Franz live against Austria Wien, him, der Bomber, Sepp Maier and other former great players of Bayern.

He was already there when I was born and there wasn't a day when the name Franz Beckenbauer wasn't spoken in the media. Now you can watch the games with Pele and all the others at your leisure.

Franz Beckenbauer WAS Germany, his vey presence iluminated players beyond their capability. A knowledgeable and educated man, der kaiser eclipsed everything before him and won so much silverware and the World Cup as a player in 1974 and as a manager in 1990. Rest in eternal peace you legend. DER KAISER.
