The talon company/the regulators from fallout 3, they always seem to get you right after you cleared a tough area or when your low level, and they always manage to kill your followers

Yeah... I feel like Jane would be the most likely to teabag your body in a Halo 3 match. Whereas Ellen would be the most likely to accidentally plant a sticky grenade on a teammate, Luke would spend the entire match in a standoff with someone trying to get the sword, and Andy would be cursing at the television every time someone managed to headshot him with a pistol from 200 meters away.

If you think the basilisk is bad now, remember that before patch 1.05 curses could stack. So you'd get half health, then if you got cursed again before curing it you'd get 1/4 health, and finally 1/8 health. It was almost impossible to get back to place to get it cured.

As a long time player of Skyrim aka having close to 5000 hours I didn't even know people had problems with them. My main character is a greatsword heavy armor warrior with sword and shield as a back up with a focus on those and smithing and enchanting and I like I think you were while not supposed to but rather assumed most would cleared a few dungeons and leveled a bit(around 15) before going to Hrothgar and I just tanked his hits and killed the troll in a couple hits. The real absurd enemy is giants because they are IMO the most dangerous enemy besides dragons as even my ridiculously high level character(currently at level 351) can get stagggered by their attacks and even though I can one shot them they have a nasty habit of club slamming you from behind and they are arguably the deadliest enemy before lvl 28 if I remember correctly that when their scaling peaks and stops at level 32ish.

I usually like to play a stealthy archer but I usually focus on a bunch of sidequests before climbing the mountain to the point I once didn't realise that was an early part of the main quest line. I usually play the main quest line up until the dragon and then basically do a whole bunch of sidequests before going to see the Greybeards. I was genuinely surprised when the frost troll was on the list, I had no idea other players found it frustrating. I do find giants insanely difficult especially but I think they are not on the list because they are usually peaceful and generally don't attack unless you attack them and one of their mammoths first. Which means you don't have to take them on until you're ready.
Lol I spent like 5 minutes finding a way to scale the mountain and pass the entire section of thr path from a safe distance. It's basically undefeatable early on

I think tentacool/tentacreul are the worst. You can't always run from them, they can poison you and can't confuse you, they are tanky as all Hell; not to mention how broken wrap was in gen 1.
Yeah I went absolutely HAM doing sidequests before going to see the greybeards that first time. I was way over leveled the first time I met the frost troll. It was still a tough fight but he didn't kill me, at least.
Exquisite Corpse yeah it took me forever to get one before I got some quick balls those are great. My favorite poke ball because you don’t have to worry about Pokémon fleeing if you catch it first try and you don’t have to worry about finding Pokémon you’ve caught at the right level if you don’t have false swipe yet so you don’t automatically one hit lower enemies when filing out your Pokédex in later game. I hate it when I wittle a Pokémon I want to catch’s health down but not low enough to make getting it to stay in a pokeball easily but too low that it I hit it again I know it’s faint and then I can’t catch it. :/ that’s super frustrating lol
I caught a Bellsprout, then leveled it up some, then used wrap until it was weak enough to catch. A lot of prep work... But that gives me my grass type for Misty and then my physic type to kill everything else.

@@early8939 The Basilisk's used to be worse, if you can believe it. When Dark Souls 1 was originally released, the curse STACKED. The more you died to it, the less max health you'd have. To a max of 1/8 total health.
crap, i just commented this and someone beat me to it 3 years ago. but then hinestly, those things in dark souls have literally never gotten me with their breath. the gamemgives you plenty of curse resistant armor sets way before you would ever go to the places you find those curse breath enemies. also, it doesn't "kill" you. it just halfes your max hp until you get uncursed. . which of course will indirectly kill you because every enemy is now gonna one shot you, but it's not the breath that killed you
Came looking for this comment. I have really poor sense of direction and always get lost in the caves, and getting caught up in a battle every 3 steps doesn't help, especially when I haven't gotten a pokemon that's super effective against them yet. Any long, windy trek where poison Pokemon can just mob you is bad, but at least the water routes are pretty linear and are more of an endurance fest than the much earlier caves.
CAZADORES FROM FALLOUT NEW VEGAS. they hit you from far away, they are fast, and their stings do continuous poison damage. Please, may the god that courier six worships take mercy on you.
Basilisks - One very effective strategy for dealing with the basilisk's curse is to poison yourself before fighting them. You can only have one negative effect at a time, if you fill up your meter up with poison, you become immune to any other negative effect, including curse. After leaving the area with the basilisks, you then cure your poison effect and you're back to full health, with no HP loss from curse. It does make your fight slightly harder with them, but they're ridiculously easy to kill, so it isn't that much harder. The important thing is to avoid getting cursed, which is a pain in the ass to remove. Poison, on the other hand, is relatively easy to remedy with Purple Moss Clump.

I'm surprised that people had trouble with Frost Trolls But the reason I never had trouble with them was probably the fact that I do like 50 side quests by the time I remember "oh right the main quests"
same here, and when i'm saying "oh right the greybeards waiting for me to their sanctuary" i've already powerful bow and skills (i play almost every time a thief archer assassin) I see the frost troll, few arrows in his eyes and no troll anymore Btw in a recent game restarted i made it to slay a dragon priest and now my lydia have two powerful staffs (ice and flame), and the last time i met not one but two frost trolls, I've turned back and my lydia spam staffs and trolls finished to dust in few secondes
Right? I usually help everyone I can in whiterun first, run to riften to collect indigo, then head to high Hrothgar. By that point I have like 3 or 4 followers anyway so it doesn't matter.
I always got sidetracked when playing any open-world (sandbox) games. finished all the side quests including the expansions before the option to choose side between Stormcloaks or Imperial. Ends up with a full set of Dragonbone Armor at that time and the highest tier of magic (Fire Storm being my favorite).
That Frost Troll honestly isn't that bad. Sounds more to me like people just tried to follow the main questline without doing enough side quests and whatnot.
@@Killcam555 you might need to refresh your memory. The frost troll is on the way to your very first shout and the people who give you locations for more shouts. Integral to go that way. But people should just ignore it lmao
You can kill the angry sun if you get a star, but it will respawn within like 1 minute or so. So it really only gives you a little respite before the pain starts again.

Yeah I have to agree with the shell. I always just got a koopa shell, waited for it to come in and pop. After that you just run and should only have to jump the retuning sun once of possibly twice before the level is done. Super easy.
That Frost Troll exists so that when you finally get all three levels of your Fus Ro Dah shout you can exact sweet vengeance by YEETing it off the mountain to it's death.
Having finally met the frost troll myself, I finally understand why you despise them. Took like 13 tries, 3 different potions, a nearly dead Lydia, and a storm atronach to finally get past it. Ran into another one later and sobbed in despair as I ran away
My first time with him I kept running with him in pursuit all the way to the greybeards. Lots of shouting when he entered high hrothgar ensued until the troll was dead.
Yesssss Jane... FFVIII was my intro into the series, too! Tonberrys are adorable but also terrified me and when King Ton arrived, I was alone in my room, and it scared the youth out of me!
After many, many, m a n y hours of Skyrim, I reckon the best strategy for that goddamn frost troll is: sprint past it and just keep on sprinting. Doesn't matter if Lydia gets left behind! You just run!
Protip for the frost troll: Run and go inside the castle, when it chases after you, it will follow you in the castle, then let the wizards deal with it.
You guys just gotta be patient with the wall masters. Wait until you see the shadow under you to move. They make a noise when they're about to drop too.
Here's an addition if you'd like to make another follow-up: any enemy in Ninja Gaiden 2 that throws incendiary shuriken. Their aim is usually pretty darn good and if it hits, it sticks and you are guaranteed to lose a lot of health and have your guard broken. When I did a new playthrough on a higher difficulty setting and met those bastards immediately in the first stage, I just stopped playing the game. That's just ludicrous.
I am going to point out how much I hate cazadors. I fight deathclaws for fun, they are somewhat easy to kill with most characters I end up running and they are predictable. Quarry Junction is basically my playground, I don't fear it anymore, I know how to clear it easily and with very little damage. Cazadors on the other hand, are faster than deathclaws, have TWO sets of limbs to be crippled if you want to slow it down, they move quickly when they have not detected you and of course, the poison. I treat every place where I could even find a cazador with extreme caution, and to make it worse, they force me to use VATS due to their speed making it hard to hit the blighters.

Those pinwheel skeletons in Dark Souls. I should note that I'm not an angry person, I like to think of myself as being quite calm. Those fellas make me angry whenever they appear because most interactions with them work out as such: 1. You get your shield up and it chips away at your stamina and then kills you 2. You don't get your shield up and it kills you 3. You get your shield up and it hits that one angle where your shield doesn't block and kills you. 4. You have the space and godlike reflexes to dodge the attack and then kill it. 5. You have the discerning eye and saint like patience to find them in the dark and then methodically kill them from range. Where another one will sneak up behind you and then kill you.
My instinctive strategy in DS has always been to fall back to the direction of the nearest bonfire, but in the catacombs where the pinwheel skellies are the way out is always through a funnel that leaves you with no space to dodge whatsoever.
I was accidentally running a giant dad my first playerthrough, and those skeletons made me want to turn my bedroom into an open air place by throwing my controller through my window. The giant sword could not deal with them well. And I went for fire on my sword, so until I killed o and s, I had to come back to upgrade a bunch.
Side step them, I'm always side stepping when I find an enemy. Being still in Dark Souls does not work for me. Side step stab, always keep distance and see where they are traveling to. Also fuck them, I hate them so much.
This is my #1 enemy. I just avoid them when I can. And then there is the lab full of them in the Old World Blues DLC... At least they're contained more or less there and you can just fill the rooms with explosives... All the explosives.
Gargoyles in Fable 2 are the bane of my existence! I don't know if they count as enemies because they only attack you emotionally but there's 50 of them, they're well hidden and you have to shoot them. When you randomly hear an obnoxious voice insulting you, one of them is close by and taunting you.
Banshees from Mass Effect. You’re going about your life, being Commander freaking Shepard and then the screaming starts. Bladders empty, weapon syncs empty, and there’s still screaming.
God I played a Vanguard. You can't imagine how often the literally fucked me to death on Insanity with their insta-kill grab (for anyone not knowledgable in ME lore, Banshees are made from a species that mates through something called "mindmeld", but the specific members of that species that become Banshees have a genetic defect that makes the nervous system overloaded of anyone they "meld" with, killing them. That's what Banshees do when they grab you)
You’re right!! Especially in multiplayer on Gold/Plat and the server like misses a tick and while you supposedly got away they’ve got you in that animation and you’re dead before you can cuss them out
Anyone who's played ARK:Survival Evolved knows that the most infuriating enemy is an icthyornis. Or a microraptor. Or a troodon. Or an arthropleura. Or a leedsichthys. Or a rex. Or a giga. Or the bugs. Or pretty much anything found in the caves.
Seriously. The Frost Troll? If you can't beat it, just run past it Cliff Racers, though, Cliff Racers are forever. They never stop. They never stop. They Never *stop*
One of the enemies I hate are the Chime Maidens from Bloodborne because they hide behind a lot of mobs and the instant you think that you are making progress with getting rid of them, they resurrect them from the bowels of "yougottobefreakingkiddingme-opolis" because they can resurrect them without end and swarm you.
I didn't have much problem with the frost troll the first time I went to High Hrothgar... because I never went the right way... After a few wrong turns, I ended up fighting a Wispmother
I usually end up going to every city getting the Thane title wandering around... Then remember that I was supposed to go somewhere important.. become arch mage... Than remember oh yeah mountain.... Kill annoying lady the kind or whatever head up mountain sleep along way, get kidnapped.. to this day haven't made it up there
I was playing Skyrim with no reloading saves and if I die I delete my save and I just paralyzed the troll with a potion and kept moving. I was not risking fighting that thing. (Pro tip for anyone who tries a similar run, paralysis potions are lifesavers many times over)
Trolls are tough but I find the fucken wolves to be more annoying, either coming out of a town or cave they’re just there. I just wanna enjoy walking to my next quest!! Bark bark to you too!!!
I played Skyrim, and I never saw the frost troll. Probably because of the really weird way I tried to go up the mountain. I didn't know that there was a main path, so I guess I dodged a bullet.
It's actually possible to get to the very top of the mountain before the magical blockade is dropped. I started from High Hrothgar and went counterclockwise, basically spamming the jump button. Nothing much up there. An enchanted pickaxe and an achievement.
Well now I need to watch the "Skyrim Rocket-Boot Mountain Climbing Challenge" video again... "No... Nooooooooooo! Hell is empty and all the demons are here!" :-D
Yaniv Avizrats got stuck in a death loop once in a small building with a named raider group inside. Cleared them out, got the loot (including a star cap or two), only to be screwed by autosave. Open the door to an absolute *fuck ton* of cazadors, which of course was instadeath. Game auto saves when you enter or leave the open world, so of course it auto saves on me coming out of the building and reloads to said fuckton of cazadors. Last manual save was long before....so sad. Also a moment of silence for all those lost going the desert way to the strip instead of past the NCR sharecroppers only to be massacred by cazadors and blind deathclaws.
It's fine if it's just one cazador... But it's almost never just one... There's always like 5 or 6 of them... And even if you have a lv 10 endurance and are a relatively high level they are still a pain to fight...
Sephiroth in Kingdom Hearts 1 - I didn't know that Sephiroth was the final boss in the coliseum & the difficulty gets cranked up to 11 with him. You also need to grind quite a bit to not die in 1-2 hits from Sephiroth....or die repeatedly till you learn his attack pattern enough to dodge him and live through the fight.
Pieces of advice for future abusive frost troll - they regenerate health while don't take damage. Fire dealt additional damage over time. THAT''s why fire is effective against them. You start with Flames spell so one hand burn furry while other smack his head. Fire enchanted bow if archer i think is only solution. btw, if you are unable to stagger enemy in Skyrim don't blame game mechanic. It's like blaming controls in Dark Souls
You could tell from his first sentence that he had a legitimate disdain for the Frost Troll. He was not playing it up, he was having genuine emotions from the frustration that enemy had given him. My first play through of Skyrim was similar as I wanted to do magic and at about Lv 5 on Master difficulty you are a wet noodle. It took hours of creativity and trial to finally beat that stupid troll...only to get a bowl of troll fat.
I have red hair, can't tan, high chance of cancer & sunlight instantly causes migraines if it hits my eyes... I actually walk outside with my eyes shut with full clothing on over all skin.
Flying Phoenix Cat Persona Q 2 Third story boss does that. What is worse is that you have to have every element ( 8 ) attack by HP cost & magic type can help. Because also the boss will randomly stop you from using an ability. This ability can't be guarded against & it hits everyone. ALSO that if you mess up or can't do said attack needed. You have to start all over. Boss fully restored HP.
Know what's *worse* than invincibility? RESISTANCE. Hear me out. With invincibility/immunity, you're just like "Oh, ok, not gonna do that." or "Ok, I'll leave and come back when I *can* do something to it." but RESISTANCE. You're doing damage to it. You can see it! But you're not doing ENOUGH. And you're just stubborn enough to be like "ARGH. I CAN DO THIS. I WILL BEAT THIS ENEMY." But it takes *so* long, because it's a resistant trash stuffer.
One thing I do love about the frost troll: You can come back later in the game and TOTALLY get back at it by annihilating it. I always sneak past it when I play a new game and get to this bit, there's no point trying to kill it IMO. But later, when I know I can, I come back and show it who really is boss.
I think their criteria was enemies that could not be avoided due to probability or railroading you into them, Cazadors are on a path in the game that's completely avoidable and on PC you can Za Warudo the game with the pip boy map time stop glitch and walk the entire path
Radscorpions are a pain as well, especially the FO4 version -- and if we're talking burrowing pests, how about those plague-bearing molerats from Curie's questline? (Granted, I'm not sure I'd curse *any* of them with my dying breath -- nothing in Fallout is as much of a sudden spike in difficulty as what they listed. At worst, they're annoying.)
cool fact, if you die from the curse of the Basilisk and you are playing online, your crystalized corpse will appear on the spot for other players walking through
it's like in Lion King where Timon won't let Puumba say 'farted' ("not in front of the kids") , but minutes earlier they showed a child sobbing over his father's corpse
I don't think I'd be as stressed around Dark Souls Basilisks if the first time I encountered them wasnt falling into a trap hole ambush of them in the depths, no where in the rest of the series do they pose that much of a threat but still I tense up when I see them.. Which is exactly what happened with Indiana Jones and snakes now that I think about it
Totally agree. I picked up DS1 recently and as a noob, fell into the pit with all the froggos. Man, it seems like one of those cruel lessons that everyone will go through in dark souls. 😅
in a fight with basilisks where they don't surround you, from the looks of it the strat seems to rush them since their cloud radius goes above their head so you can significantly reduce the time you're in that cloud by bum-rushing them
Well, I think that Basilisks are only that big of a bother in general in Dark Souls 1. in the other games, they don't halve your HP bar permanently until fixed. They can instantly kill you with curse buildup, sure, but there are other enemies that can kill you instantly in other ways.
@@wrongtime9097 They have more than that move. If you see them jump, yeah, you can rush. But sometimes they'll just breathe at you while moving their head from side to side, covering the entire air in front of them in a sort of cone shape.
Particularly in multiplayer on harder difficulties. So many games where we had to just hide in a box desperately huddled together just out of their reach to try and kill them before they killed us.....
Banshees are easy to deal with, once you get used to them they're a joke, easy points in multiplayer. Phantoms! Phantoms. Should. Have. Been. On. That. List. With their bullshit bubble, force grab insta-kill, and literal hand cannon.
Luke reconsidering his whole life whilst thinking back on all the good times with Frosty is one of the best, most unexpectedly deep moments in any OX video.
How about the frogs in 'Don't Starve'? In a game with almost no ranged weapons or enemies, frogs have massive range with their tongue. Not only that, but they knock items out of your inventory when they hit you, are found in groups, and despite being neutral mobs will sometimes randomly attack you. Also frog rain.
FROG RAIN omg I was playing Don't Starve on my phone the other day and suddenly there were frogs everywhere! Nothing I could do but give up and start a new game :(
Legionary Assassins/NCR Ranger hit squads in Fallout: New Vegas. Sent after you when you annoy the faction too much, New Vegas' already sort of fiddly combat system makes these heavily armored health-packed enemies annoying to deal with even with endgame/DLC weapons
PRIMAL ASPIDS FROM HOLLOW KNIGHT. They inexplicably know exactly where you’re going to jump and you can’t deflect their projectile and they are just THE. WORST.
Cliff racers from Morriwind. Little flying things that keep attacking you even when you're over leveled. Why make me waste my time to kill you? And they never end.
Waste time? I never remember them being that bad, but then again I wasted so much time running and jumping, that I could run away. But then you have to start our wasting alot of time running and jumping.
Primal Aspids in Hollow Knight. No matter how I dodge them it feels likes there’s a decent chance I’ll still get it by their projectiles. Sometimes I’ll even dodge into them on accident when I’m trying to avoid them.
Where are the marlboros from almost every Final Fantasy game You know big round green balls of tentacles that can inflict like 10 different status ailments including confusion. You know it's called "Bad Breath"
Nothing's worse than getting ambushed by a Great Malboro after grinding for 3+ hours in FFX and getting hit by Bad Breath and watching Tidus kill your other party members due to Evade & Counter.

The games usually gives you the opportunity to protect yourself. Although, in my experience, FF7 was the worst because of the extra status ailments it has and Ribbon was the only good defense and you likely only had 1.

Ran into those on my first play through before even going through the quest in town, lol... it was a bad choice to explore beyond the graveyard at level 1...
Now that we've had some time for this to breathe, I would like to nominate the Scorn from Destiny 2. Little bastards teleport into smoke, throw tethering bombs of fire, and their big bads can sometimes 2-shot you with lightning bolts if you're not careful.
Isn't the floor master inside the shadow temple? Like that one room with the invisible walls and all the hands on the floor and they become awkward when the walls are revealed?
"Forget killing it..." *Kill the sun in like two seconds by kicking the first turtle shell in its face right after it activates* ...Yep. It's that easy.
Also the frost troll is really easy to beat if you run towards it instead of away. It's faster than you at running but it has a wind up on its attack and it's slow to turn because it has to finish its attack animation. It's like 8 whole seconds of freedom. If you use the basic flame spell you start the game with you kill it even faster because 1. That's its elemental weakness. 2. Burn damage over time means it's taking damage even while you're dodging. 3. It stops healing while it's taking the damage.
Minecraft Creepers. The video game equivalent of the bigger kid walking up out of nowhere and kicking in your sandcastle. ....and they vanish in the explosion so you don't even get the pleasure of revenge! 😡
Definitely. Creepers are horrible because they play by the rules, you can look around, see them and kill them before they can hurt you; there's no cheating on their part. Yet you'll always die to them and lose huge chunks of your world, because they can exploit to deadly efficiency even the slightest lapses in perception.
Bad memories from Bad breath. Grinding hours in omega ruins for omega weapon and just before faceing omega, malboro with a fucking Bad breath and back to beginning.
They are without a doubt, the worst enemy in FFVIII for me. You stand no chance at all & can't run away unless you happen to own a Pocketstation to acquire a Ribbon or you use a gameshark.
Yep, the blue ones from Final Fantasy X in particular. Encounter one in Omega Ruins after not saving for hours, 100% ambush rate and instant Bad Breath. Instant game over unless at the very very least you have Confuse Ward and get extremely lucky.

I think the difficulty of the basilisks is not knowing you get a massive curse resistance the more humanity you store up. The funny thing is the first spot you are supposed to see them you can farm up endless humanity from the rats if you want some easy defensive stats.

Virals in dying light when you get caught in a cruel loop of "run away! Fall and make noise! Draw more virals! Run away again!" Especially early game when you don't have any good head bashing abilities and your just stuck trying to get some high ground against fucking five of them!(the virals are also my favorite enemy in the game sssh)
I do the main quest late into my Skyrim gameplay, so I never realized this troll was such a challenge. My main low-level challenges were those grim reaper dudes who come out of a chest after you kill certain dragons the ones who drop a mask such as Volsung.
yeah fuck those guys… my first ever encounter with one was zaakrisoos or whatever his stupid name is? he’s the lighting guy in the stupid cave and i was so underlvl to even be doing the dlc he one tapped me and i thought i was trapped in there and i ended up just sprinting to the other room because he is so fucking irritating and just left him in there

If you think the basilisk is bad now, remember that before patch 1.05 curses could stack. So you'd get half health, then if you got cursed again before curing it you'd get 1/4 health, and finally 1/8 health. It was almost impossible to get back to place to get it cured.

As a long time player of Skyrim aka having close to 5000 hours I didn't even know people had problems with them. My main character is a greatsword heavy armor warrior with sword and shield as a back up with a focus on those and smithing and enchanting and I like I think you were while not supposed to but rather assumed most would cleared a few dungeons and leveled a bit(around 15) before going to Hrothgar and I just tanked his hits and killed the troll in a couple hits. The real absurd enemy is giants because they are IMO the most dangerous enemy besides dragons as even my ridiculously high level character(currently at level 351) can get stagggered by their attacks and even though I can one shot them they have a nasty habit of club slamming you from behind and they are arguably the deadliest enemy before lvl 28 if I remember correctly that when their scaling peaks and stops at level 32ish.
Resident evil and silent hill teach you that not every enemy needs to be killed

I usually like to play a stealthy archer but I usually focus on a bunch of sidequests before climbing the mountain to the point I once didn't realise that was an early part of the main quest line. I usually play the main quest line up until the dragon and then basically do a whole bunch of sidequests before going to see the Greybeards. I was genuinely surprised when the frost troll was on the list, I had no idea other players found it frustrating.
I do find giants insanely difficult especially but I think they are not on the list because they are usually peaceful and generally don't attack unless you attack them and one of their mammoths first. Which means you don't have to take them on until you're ready.
Lol I spent like 5 minutes finding a way to scale the mountain and pass the entire section of thr path from a safe distance. It's basically undefeatable early on

I think tentacool/tentacreul are the worst. You can't always run from them, they can poison you and can't confuse you, they are tanky as all Hell; not to mention how broken wrap was in gen 1.

Exquisite Corpse yeah it took me forever to get one before I got some quick balls those are great. My favorite poke ball because you don’t have to worry about Pokémon fleeing if you catch it first try and you don’t have to worry about finding Pokémon you’ve caught at the right level if you don’t have false swipe yet so you don’t automatically one hit lower enemies when filing out your Pokédex in later game. I hate it when I wittle a Pokémon I want to catch’s health down but not low enough to make getting it to stay in a pokeball easily but too low that it I hit it again I know it’s faint and then I can’t catch it. :/ that’s super frustrating lol
I caught a Bellsprout, then leveled it up some, then used wrap until it was weak enough to catch. A lot of prep work... But that gives me my grass type for Misty and then my physic type to kill everything else.

@@early8939 The Basilisk's used to be worse, if you can believe it. When Dark Souls 1 was originally released, the curse STACKED. The more you died to it, the less max health you'd have. To a max of 1/8 total health.

also, it doesn't "kill" you. it just halfes your max hp until you get uncursed. . which of course will indirectly kill you because every enemy is now gonna one shot you, but it's not the breath that killed you

Came looking for this comment. I have really poor sense of direction and always get lost in the caves, and getting caught up in a battle every 3 steps doesn't help, especially when I haven't gotten a pokemon that's super effective against them yet. Any long, windy trek where poison Pokemon can just mob you is bad, but at least the water routes are pretty linear and are more of an endurance fest than the much earlier caves.

Basilisks - One very effective strategy for dealing with the basilisk's curse is to poison yourself before fighting them. You can only have one negative effect at a time, if you fill up your meter up with poison, you become immune to any other negative effect, including curse. After leaving the area with the basilisks, you then cure your poison effect and you're back to full health, with no HP loss from curse. It does make your fight slightly harder with them, but they're ridiculously easy to kill, so it isn't that much harder. The important thing is to avoid getting cursed, which is a pain in the ass to remove. Poison, on the other hand, is relatively easy to remedy with Purple Moss Clump.

I was level 20 before i talked to jarl balgruf for the first time
same here, and when i'm saying "oh right the greybeards waiting for me to their sanctuary" i've already powerful bow and skills (i play almost every time a thief archer assassin) I see the frost troll, few arrows in his eyes and no troll anymore
Btw in a recent game restarted i made it to slay a dragon priest and now my lydia have two powerful staffs (ice and flame), and the last time i met not one but two frost trolls, I've turned back and my lydia spam staffs and trolls finished to dust in few secondes

I usually help everyone I can in whiterun first, run to riften to collect indigo, then head to high Hrothgar. By that point I have like 3 or 4 followers anyway so it doesn't matter.

finished all the side quests including the expansions before the option to choose side between Stormcloaks or Imperial.
Ends up with a full set of Dragonbone Armor at that time and the highest tier of magic (Fire Storm being my favorite).

@@Killcam555 you might need to refresh your memory. The frost troll is on the way to your very first shout and the people who give you locations for more shouts. Integral to go that way. But people should just ignore it lmao
You can kill the angry sun if you get a star, but it will respawn within like 1 minute or so. So it really only gives you a little respite before the pain starts again.

That Frost Troll exists so that when you finally get all three levels of your Fus Ro Dah shout you can exact sweet vengeance by YEETing it off the mountain to it's death.

Having finally met the frost troll myself, I finally understand why you despise them. Took like 13 tries, 3 different potions, a nearly dead Lydia, and a storm atronach to finally get past it. Ran into another one later and sobbed in despair as I ran away

Protip for the frost troll: Run and go inside the castle, when it chases after you, it will follow you in the castle, then let the wizards deal with it.

Here's an addition if you'd like to make another follow-up: any enemy in Ninja Gaiden 2 that throws incendiary shuriken. Their aim is usually pretty darn good and if it hits, it sticks and you are guaranteed to lose a lot of health and have your guard broken. When I did a new playthrough on a higher difficulty setting and met those bastards immediately in the first stage, I just stopped playing the game. That's just ludicrous.

I am going to point out how much I hate cazadors.
I fight deathclaws for fun, they are somewhat easy to kill with most characters I end up running and they are predictable. Quarry Junction is basically my playground, I don't fear it anymore, I know how to clear it easily and with very little damage.
Cazadors on the other hand, are faster than deathclaws, have TWO sets of limbs to be crippled if you want to slow it down, they move quickly when they have not detected you and of course, the poison.
I treat every place where I could even find a cazador with extreme caution, and to make it worse, they force me to use VATS due to their speed making it hard to hit the blighters.
Ironically the real life equivalent are pet worthy.😁

Those pinwheel skeletons in Dark Souls. I should note that I'm not an angry person, I like to think of myself as being quite calm.
Those fellas make me angry whenever they appear because most interactions with them work out as such:
1. You get your shield up and it chips away at your stamina and then kills you
2. You don't get your shield up and it kills you
3. You get your shield up and it hits that one angle where your shield doesn't block and kills you.
4. You have the space and godlike reflexes to dodge the attack and then kill it.
5. You have the discerning eye and saint like patience to find them in the dark and then methodically kill them from range. Where another one will sneak up behind you and then kill you.
Imagine running into them when you're not a Knight or Warrior build.
My instinctive strategy in DS has always been to fall back to the direction of the nearest bonfire, but in the catacombs where the pinwheel skellies are the way out is always through a funnel that leaves you with no space to dodge whatsoever.
I was accidentally running a giant dad my first playerthrough, and those skeletons made me want to turn my bedroom into an open air place by throwing my controller through my window. The giant sword could not deal with them well. And I went for fire on my sword, so until I killed o and s, I had to come back to upgrade a bunch.
Side step them, I'm always side stepping when I find an enemy. Being still in Dark Souls does not work for me. Side step stab, always keep distance and see where they are traveling to. Also fuck them, I hate them so much.

I don't know if they count as enemies because they only attack you emotionally but there's 50 of them, they're well hidden and you have to shoot them. You can't imagine how often the literally fucked me to death on Insanity with their insta-kill grab (for anyone not knowledgable in ME lore, Banshees are made from a species that mates through something called "mindmeld", but the specific members of that species that become Banshees have a genetic defect that makes the nervous system overloaded of anyone they "meld" with, killing them. That's what Banshees do when they grab you)

One of the enemies I hate are the Chime Maidens from Bloodborne because they hide behind a lot of mobs and the instant you think that you are making progress with getting rid of them, they resurrect them from the bowels of "yougottobefreakingkiddingme-opolis" because they can resurrect them without end and swarm you.

I don't even remember ever encountering a frost troll... I think I just climbed cliff faces.
I usually end up going to every city getting the Thane title wandering around... Then remember that I was supposed to go somewhere important.. become arch mage... Than remember oh yeah mountain.... Kill annoying lady the kind or whatever head up mountain sleep along way, get kidnapped.. to this day haven't made it up there
I was playing Skyrim with no reloading saves and if I die I delete my save and I just paralyzed the troll with a potion and kept moving. I was not risking fighting that thing. (Pro tip for anyone who tries a similar run, paralysis potions are lifesavers many times over)
I use invisible potions and the calm spell
There's a guaranteed location for a staff of paralysis. Somewhere not far from the entrance of Snapleg cave (but inside the dungeon)
The potion is fairly easy to make too, if you build a house with a garden and planted Impstool and Canis
Trolls are tough but I find the fucken wolves to be more annoying, either coming out of a town or cave they’re just there. I just wanna enjoy walking to my next quest!! Bark bark to you too!!!

I played Skyrim, and I never saw the frost troll. Probably because of the really weird way I tried to go up the mountain. I didn't know that there was a main path, so I guess I dodged a bullet.

It's actually possible to get to the very top of the mountain before the magical blockade is dropped.
I started from High Hrothgar and went counterclockwise, basically spamming the jump button.
Nothing much up there. An enchanted pickaxe and an achievement.

Yaniv Avizrats got stuck in a death loop once in a small building with a named raider group inside. Cleared them out, got the loot (including a star cap or two), only to be screwed by autosave. Open the door to an absolute *fuck ton* of cazadors, which of course was instadeath. Game auto saves when you enter or leave the open world, so of course it auto saves on me coming out of the building and reloads to said fuckton of cazadors. Last manual save was long before....so sad. Also a moment of silence for all those lost going the desert way to the strip instead of past the NCR sharecroppers only to be massacred by cazadors and blind deathclaws.
It's fine if it's just one cazador... But it's almost never just one... There's always like 5 or 6 of them... And even if you have a lv 10 endurance and are a relatively high level they are still a pain to fight...
Sephiroth in Kingdom Hearts 1 - I didn't know that Sephiroth was the final boss in the coliseum & the difficulty gets cranked up to 11 with him. You also need to grind quite a bit to not die in 1-2 hits from Sephiroth....or die repeatedly till you learn his attack pattern enough to dodge him and live through the fight.

Pieces of advice for future abusive frost troll - they regenerate health while don't take damage. Fire dealt additional damage over time. THAT''s why fire is effective against them. You start with Flames spell so one hand burn furry while other smack his head. Fire enchanted bow if archer i think is only solution.
btw, if you are unable to stagger enemy in Skyrim don't blame game mechanic. It's like blaming controls in Dark Souls

You could tell from his first sentence that he had a legitimate disdain for the Frost Troll. He was not playing it up, he was having genuine emotions from the frustration that enemy had given him. My first play through of Skyrim was similar as I wanted to do magic and at about Lv 5 on Master difficulty you are a wet noodle. It took hours of creativity and trial to finally beat that stupid troll...only to get a bowl of troll fat.

Flying Phoenix Cat Persona Q 2 Third story boss does that. What is worse is that you have to have every element ( 8 ) attack by HP cost & magic type can help. Because also the boss will randomly stop you from using an ability. This ability can't be guarded against & it hits everyone. ALSO that if you mess up or can't do said attack needed. You have to start all over. Boss fully restored HP.
Know what's *worse* than invincibility? RESISTANCE. Hear me out. With invincibility/immunity, you're just like "Oh, ok, not gonna do that." or "Ok, I'll leave and come back when I *can* do something to it." but RESISTANCE. You're doing damage to it. You can see it! But you're not doing ENOUGH. And you're just stubborn enough to be like "ARGH. I CAN DO THIS. I WILL BEAT THIS ENEMY." But it takes *so* long, because it's a resistant trash stuffer.
One thing I do love about the frost troll: You can come back later in the game and TOTALLY get back at it by annihilating it. I always sneak past it when I play a new game and get to this bit, there's no point trying to kill it IMO. But later, when I know I can, I come back and show it who really is boss.

I think their criteria was enemies that could not be avoided due to probability or railroading you into them, Cazadors are on a path in the game that's completely avoidable and on PC you can Za Warudo the game with the pip boy map time stop glitch and walk the entire path
Radscorpions are a pain as well, especially the FO4 version -- and if we're talking burrowing pests, how about those plague-bearing molerats from Curie's questline?
(Granted, I'm not sure I'd curse *any* of them with my dying breath -- nothing in Fallout is as much of a sudden spike in difficulty as what they listed. At worst, they're annoying.)

in a fight with basilisks where they don't surround you, from the looks of it the strat seems to rush them since their cloud radius goes above their head so you can significantly reduce the time you're in that cloud by bum-rushing them
Well, I think that Basilisks are only that big of a bother in general in Dark Souls 1. in the other games, they don't halve your HP bar permanently until fixed. They can instantly kill you with curse buildup, sure, but there are other enemies that can kill you instantly in other ways.
@@wrongtime9097 They have more than that move. If you see them jump, yeah, you can rush. But sometimes they'll just breathe at you while moving their head from side to side, covering the entire air in front of them in a sort of cone shape.

Banshees are easy to deal with, once you get used to them they're a joke, easy points in multiplayer. Phantoms! Phantoms. Should. Have. Been. On. That. List. With their bullshit bubble, force grab insta-kill, and literal hand cannon.

In a game with almost no ranged weapons or enemies, frogs have massive range with their tongue.
Not only that, but they knock items out of your inventory when they hit you, are found in groups, and despite being neutral mobs will sometimes randomly attack you.
Also frog rain.

Nothing's worse than getting ambushed by a Great Malboro after grinding for 3+ hours in FFX and getting hit by Bad Breath and watching Tidus kill your other party members due to Evade & Counter.

The games usually gives you the opportunity to protect yourself. Although, in my experience, FF7 was the worst because of the extra status ailments it has and Ribbon was the only good defense and you likely only had 1.

Also the frost troll is really easy to beat if you run towards it instead of away. It's faster than you at running but it has a wind up on its attack and it's slow to turn because it has to finish its attack animation. It's like 8 whole seconds of freedom. If you use the basic flame spell you start the game with you kill it even faster because 1. That's its elemental weakness. 2. Burn damage over time means it's taking damage even while you're dodging. 3. It stops healing while it's taking the damage.

Definitely. Creepers are horrible because they play by the rules, you can look around, see them and kill them before they can hurt you; there's no cheating on their part. Yet you'll always die to them and lose huge chunks of your world, because they can exploit to deadly efficiency even the slightest lapses in perception.

They are without a doubt, the worst enemy in FFVIII for me. You stand no chance at all & can't run away unless you happen to own a Pocketstation to acquire a Ribbon or you use a gameshark.
Yep, the blue ones from Final Fantasy X in particular. Encounter one in Omega Ruins after not saving for hours, 100% ambush rate and instant Bad Breath. Instant game over unless at the very very least you have Confuse Ward and get extremely lucky.

I think the difficulty of the basilisks is not knowing you get a massive curse resistance the more humanity you store up. The funny thing is the first spot you are supposed to see them you can farm up endless humanity from the rats if you want some easy defensive stats.

Virals in dying light when you get caught in a cruel loop of "run away! Fall and make noise! Draw more virals! Run away again!" Especially early game when you don't have any good head bashing abilities and your just stuck trying to get some high ground against fucking five of them!(the virals are also my favorite enemy in the game sssh)
I do the main quest late into my Skyrim gameplay, so I never realized this troll was such a challenge. My main low-level challenges were those grim reaper dudes who come out of a chest after you kill certain dragons the ones who drop a mask such as Volsung.

yeah fuck those guys… my first ever encounter with one was zaakrisoos or whatever his stupid name is? he’s the lighting guy in the stupid cave and i was so underlvl to even be doing the dlc he one tapped me and i thought i was trapped in there and i ended up just sprinting to the other room because he is so fucking irritating and just left him in there
