      @@aribuwu eh, depends on your budget, the 500 is a bit higher quality finish and electronics, but for most uses the 300 is more than enough to fulfill even studio musicians, seen plenty of 300s in recording sessions

      @@datutturugang666 hmm my only issue with the 300 is that there's no middle knob from what i've seen. is there any way it's gonna impact me if i want to record stuff?

      @@aribuwu to be completely frank, no, you can modulate mids by adapting hi and low frequencies, or since you plan onto recording, by adding an Eq to your channel strip

    Once you buy a Yamaha, you will always come back to it.
    At least that's the case with me - I'm buying next week (or so) this beautiful 305, to his older brother Yamaha RBX 170 (which is serving me well the last 15 years in ALL genres)

    “If you were to have one bass at your house…” Yupp, that’s precisely how it’s going to be for me. I’ve been using a Yamaha RBX 375 to record for many years, so I’ve basically already decided I’m going to get this one right here as a replacement. 😊

    I recently got one of these. Sounds good. Only thing I don't care for are the screw hole cut away section on the pickups where you have that thumb test section. That little pointy lip can dig into your thumb. I hope they come up with something better.

      @@EAplays619Honestly, it's embarassing to mention it, but I got so hammered by work, and other life stuff that I haven't even had much time to dedicate to it, setting it up and putting it through it's paces and all. As it is it's clearly well built, bit clanky and buzzy, but I'm pretty sure that's just a matter of setting it up. One thing to mention, at least with the one I got, it's FUCKING HEAVY. Like....12-13 lbs.

    I was in my local music shop today ordering some SD Quarter-Pounders for my no-name P-Bass and they had one of these trbx305 for like $375 and I gotta say it's realllly tempting. I really only play bass on the side but dang for less than $400 this thing looks sick.

    • @tarpley-music
      @tarpley-music  Рік тому +1

      Thanks! It is a heavier bass, but that's because of the extra wood needed to support the 5-string setup. The balance on the guitar is very good, and feels evenly distrubuted. It is very comfortable bass. Probably my favorite Yamaha Bass that isn't an Artist model.

    Hi please I have a problem with my low and High end volumes they are causing some scratchy noise ....no wire is detached please wah do I do to fix this problem I use a TRBX305

  • @metalvisionsongcontest7055
    @metalvisionsongcontest7055 6 місяців тому

    If I have the volume all the way up on mine, it quickly distorts during recording whenever I play the lowest string (unless I play it a lot softer than the other strings) - even though the gain on the interface is set properly. That’s because the notes on the lowest strings seem to be considerably louder than the notes on the higher strings. Haven’t had that experience with my previous 5-string. Any ideas?
    Of course, some 5 strings have the opposite problem, where you barely hear the bottom strings at all. It sounds to me like Yamaha tried to compensate for that common issue here, by boosting the lower strings - potentially, they went a little too far with that?

      Active pickups always require a battery. And this bass has active pickups.

    • @robertlucas9867
      @robertlucas9867 Рік тому +1

      Active EQ, not active pickups. I have this. It works semi ok without but you can’t use the control knobs for tone shaping without a battery.

      Totally disagree. This is a pretty average dual soap bar pickup set up. The pickup design is nothing like the MM style. Only thing in common is pole pieces exposed. Sure, you may get a close tone with the preamp but it sounds nothing like a stringray
