    I have an Old WS1613IT (Retired) that still works great! I used to refer to your On-line manual but now it has disappeared. It was only a couple pages of text and I did use it a few times a year. Why would that be removed? Looks like I'll be looking for another station.

    Greg, I can't thank you enough! Long story, lsd involved, long night, my dark room became the beautiful beaches and ancient fort of St. Augustine FL, even visited the fountain of youth (feel younger already!)
    So, tangent over, I was having trouble reading (I tired to RTFM but it was all some sort of alien hieroglyph) and this video saved my life. I was able to troubleshoot an issue that was preventing my roommate having an AC unit (old house, three bedrooms on one 15A breaker, we all been there right? okay, well I can't be the only one, anywhoo....) but by giving up my easy access to alcohol mini-fridge I believe there are plenty of angry pixies (electrons, AvE anyone?) to go around now. Everything happens for a reason, I am going to stop drinking and start microdosing psilocybin. Just reminded myself, get medical marijuana prescription. Im going full-hippy mode. Homeopathic medicine, primal diet, only drugs that come from the earth and are not extracted or a molecular anolog. In my state it is so easy now, Completely online doc appoint, email with pdf to digital sign and transfer money over via some .gov or something... I will figure it, "burn that bridge when i get to it"
    Obviously sober enough to interact with the English, ASCII, Latin, alphabet, qwerty interface,etc... so am about to create a nice spreadsheet to log these temps. I really wish I had a nicer multi-meter so i could clamp that pixie counter over the copper pixie tunnel and have more data points.
    Actually, while I have you here, Greg. is it possible to pair more temperature sensors with my S85814v2? I currently have just the one TX141TH-BV3. If so, how many? I watched the whole video so forgive me if that info was featured in your how-to. Will re-watch as I come back down to earth!
    This day in age it makes me so happy to know companies with integrity like this still exist. It is so hard to find a product or service that includes quality
    hardware
    software
    firmware
    Doesnt force you into creating a cloud account "for convenience" but actually to make money selling to ad services
    Has incredible documentation
    Even more so with clear "how-to" videos that aren't just an outdated 240p PowerPoint and robot voice reading the manual over the worst possible public domain song
    The set I purchased was not the cheapest option but I got more than what I paid for. God Bless you Greg, your family and friends, all of La Crosse Technology and the family/friends of theirs as well.
    PS: I will rewrite this comment in a family friendly matter as soon as my mind is back. I would love to give you guys a thorough review for your "customer testimonials" and of course also re-post to Amazon where I bought your product. I believe I gave you five stars but, if not, opening another tab right now to do so.
    PPS: As I was watching your video and really reflecting on myself, this video helped me through what could have been a difficult time. I realized i was being selfish. You were like my shaman, directing me on how to think of others before myself. I know I sound crazy but I am actually tearing up a bit. I mean it. Your "how-to configure clock" was more of "how to configure life". I really can't find the words to thank you more so that is my queue to stop rambling.
    Peace Greg, homies for life!

      Hey Man, thanks for the rad comment! We a thrilled this video was able to help you out. In regards to your S85814v2, unfortunately, that model does not have the ability to connect with additional sensors. For that, an upgrade to something like our S77925v2: www.lacrossetechnology.com/products/s77925v2 could be a good fit, as it would offer very similar features and the ability to add two additional TX141TH-BCHv3 Thermo-Hygro sensors (3 total) along with a rain gauge if you'd wish. For help with this possible switch or discount toward something new, please feel free to reach out to our store directly at 608-785-7939 or via email at: store@lacrossetechnology.com -- Thanks again for your kind words and for choosing La Crosse Technology. 😊

    my in door Temp is way off. I have compared it to two other thermometers one dig the other analog. I moved the La Crosse to different locations to see if that made a difference and it did not. The La Crosse is reading 6 degrees higher than the other two. Is there a way to re calibrate the indoor reading. Thanks

    • @lacrossetechnology
      @lacrossetechnology  4 роки тому

      Hey Jeff, unfortunately, the display and sensor will come pre-calibrated from the factory and there is no way to perform manual adjustments on them. The best way to tell if your calibration is off, would be to perform a side by side test with your outdoor sensor. Our video here: bit.ly/inaccurate_temp_readings talks about this in terms of your outdoor readings being off, but this test will work both ways. After this test, if the readings are off by more than 4 degrees, this is definitely an issue, and you will want to contact our support team here: bit.ly/contact_techsupport. However, if your temperature readings are within this range, the item is considered to be within tolerance and working correctly.
      This S85814 station uses an industry standard tolerance range of +/- 2°F compared to the actual temperature, thus the possible 4 degree difference between display and sensor reading. We apologize for any trouble and hope this helps answer your question and/or point you in the right direction.

      @@lacrossetechnology +/- of 2 degrees is considered by the "industry" to be acceptable? What industry? Does that include the scientists performing research on climate change and global warming? No wonder the right wing American Fascists have their knickers in a knot. If the readings are off by a range of 4 degrees, why bother worrying about global temperature rise of 2 degrees...ha ha ha. • @lacrossetechnology
      @lacrossetechnology  6 років тому

      Hi William, well first off our C83100 is quite a bit different than our C85814 model shown in this video, so some of these instructions may not correlate exactly. But as far as your sensor not connecting to your display, the C83100 comes with 3 remote sensors, are any of them displaying data on screen? Feel free to private message us on Facebook or Twitter for a faster response time.

    Why doesn’t my station show the outdoor temperature

    • @lacrossetechnology
      @lacrossetechnology  2 роки тому

      Hi Mary, if you're not seeing outdoor temperatures (dashes for instance) this means the station is not receiving data from the wireless outdoor sensor. Our first suggestion would be to perform a basic restart covered at the 18:11 timestamp in this video. If these steps still do not get the sensor reconnected, please message our support staff directly here: bit.ly/contact_techsupport. Or alternatively, send us a private message on our Facebook: bit.ly/LaxTech_Facebook or Twitter: bit.ly/LaxTech__Twitter page for further assistance.

    I have Weather Station model s85814. I have watched the UA-cam and as a result have a question about the sensor. I have been trying for 4 days to get a live person on the phone who could address my questions. No call back. How can I get to speak with a real person who can answer my questions about the Sensor?

    • @petemiller519
      @petemiller519 4 роки тому

      Hey Roland, I already gave up trying to get an actual person I could speak with. You're not really missing that much, cause when you do get somebody, it's someone either from India or the Philippines. I called my bank the other day and got someone who has English as his fourth language. Statistically speaking, calling Canadian Revenue, you have a 25% chance of getting called back when you leave a message asking for a call back. With all the spam going on, I think it's great, because If I do get an email or a call from the government, I just tell them not to call me or email me because I think it's some scam from Nigeria. If they want to talk to me, they know my address, and can stop by anytime for a cup of coffee.

    • @lacrossetechnology
      @lacrossetechnology  5 років тому

      Hi Julia, for a constant backlight you must power the display with the provided power cord. Battery power only will only allow the backlight to work for 10 seconds at a time after a button push. The batteries are meant more for backup purposes should your power go out. If you are using the power cord in a working outlet, press the LIGHT button to cycle through your intensity options. If your display is not functioning in this way, please reach out to our support team here: www.lacrossetechnology.com/support/index/form/ as you may need a replacement.

    • @lacrossetechnology
      @lacrossetechnology  4 роки тому

      Hi Shirley, sorry for the delay and confusion with your weather station’s power cord. First, for a constant backlight, the power cord must be used. Battery power only will allow this S85814 display to stay lit up for about 10 seconds after a button is pushed. The power cable will plug into the display via the AC Jack on the back. We show this at the 3:47 mark in this video. If a further visual is needed, please see page 4 of your full manual here: www.lacrossetechnology.com/media/catalog/product/s/8/s85814_product_manual.pdf

      All I want to know is how to get my outside temperature to show

    • @lacrossetechnology
      @lacrossetechnology  4 роки тому

      @@123juicyjudy1 First, try the Basic Restart instructions starting at the 18:11 mark in this video. Be sure to use a new set of regular alkaline batteries in both your display and outdoor sensor. In addition to these steps, if you own the S85814 model shown, your sensor also has a small TX button located above the battery slots. Press this after you have the power restored to both the sensor and display. This should force a transmission and connect your sensor almost instantly.
      However, if these steps do not work, a replacement outdoor sensor will likely be needed. For help with this, please reach out to our support staff here: bit.ly/contact_techsupport. More companies should make videos like this for their products.
    Funny, he says that "the main unit takes three 'AAA' batteries", however the main unit takes 'AA' batteries and that is what he puts in it; and in the troubleshooting section, he pulls 'AAA' batteries out of it...

    • @mahcine156
      @mahcine156 8 років тому

      no, three 'AA' batteries is what the main unit takes, not 'AAA'... and the remote requires two 'AA'. I did research on a lot of your color units, and did notice, a lot of the main units do take 'AAA', but not this one...

    I don't understand how people can be posting positive reviews, unless LaCrosse is being dishonest and posting them. I bought this unit a while ago and it has NEVER worked. LaCrosse actually replaced it twice and it worked for a little while. Yesterday it read 96 degrees outside and it was actually 77. Now it reads 80 and it's actually 60. I don't understand how LaCrosse can continue to sell a product that clearly does not produce any accurate information making it a useless product to use!

    Greg, why such an awkward stilted form of speech? You sound like a computer voice. Is that the voice you are taught in TV announcer/product hawking school? Why not just speak normally without the distraction of those horrible inflections and out of balance cadence.
    Just grow up and use a normal adult voice.

      If this presentation is 'professional' , LaCross overpaid. The information is helpful (I came here because the printed info with the unit is nearly useless) but I felt tortured listing to Greg's voice. It reminded me of the squeal of a deflating balloon.
