    *MISSING OUTDOOR TEMP?*
    Our first suggestion would be to perform a basic restart covered in our other video here: bit.ly/LaxTech_BasicRestart or following the steps below.
    1. Bring the outdoor sensor inside and set it near the station, with nothing in between them.
    2. Remove all power from both the station and sensor (batteries and/or power cord).
    3. Press one of the buttons on the station at least 20 times to clear all memory. Verify that the display is blank before proceeding.
    4. Let both the station and sensor sit without batteries for at least 15 minutes.
    5. Be sure to use new brand name alkaline batteries dated at least 7 years in advance (super, ultra, max, heavy-duty, and rechargeable types should be avoided) and place them into the remote sensor; making sure they are installed according to polarity.
    6. Next, reinstall the batteries and/or power cord into the station and confirm it has turned on. If your sensor has a TX button near the batteries, press this to force a transmission and connect it almost instantly. Your outdoor readings should show up on your display within the next few moments. If they do not, skip to step 8.
    7. With your outdoor readings now showing do not press any buttons or move the sensor away from the station for at least 15 minutes. This lets the two parts establish a good connection with each other. After they have been connected for the 15 minutes you should be able to mount the sensor back outside.
    8. If your outdoor sensor’s information never appeared on your station’s screen (after 5-10 minutes with the sensor sitting next to your station), then please message our support staff directly here: bit.ly/contact_techsupport. Or alternatively, send us a private message on our Facebook: bit.ly/LaxTech_Facebook or Twitter: bit.ly/LaxTech__Twitter page for further assistance.

    Has WWV stopped broadcasting a time signal? I have several La Crosse technology clocks, and not one of them has set its time properly in the 36 hours since dumb light stupid time changed. About two weeks ago, I even put one outside, facing Colorado, for three or four days, and it never set itself. 😕

    My out door sensor doesn't work. It's been outside for quite some time. I had to set up the clock manually since it didn't pick up daylight savings time, but your instruction on how to do that was helpful.

      Hey Mercia, our apologies for the trouble. For help getting your sensor reconnected, we'd suggest reviewing our page and video here: bit.ly/basic_restart regarding how to perform a basic restart. If after these steps (using new alkaline batteries) you're still not getting outdoor readings, a new sensor may be needed. In that case, please message our support staff directly here: bit.ly/contact_techsupport. Or alternatively, send us a private message on our Facebook: bit.ly/LaxTech_Facebook or Twitter: bit.ly/LaxTech__Twitter page for further assistance. Sorry again for the inconvenience.

    I did the exact same startup, except that the sensor was about 1 foot away from the clock. In fact I have two sensors, with one sent to me because I couldn't find the original sensor. After receiving the 2nd sensor I set it up and all was good.
    I eventually noted that the outdoor temperature wasn't recording but, due to laziness, I put off reconnecting. After a few months the clock faded out so I used this situation to do it all.
    Well, fresh batteries (lithium though, not alkaline but lithium had ALWAYS worked for me previously), and following these instructions, the temperature didn't pick up.
    I tried the sequence several times, no luck.
    I change the small dial (labelled 1,2,3) in one of the sensors while, again, respecting the proper sequence (sensor first for fresh batteries and then clock within 3 minutes), no luck.
    I tested each battery using a special $100 load tester for all sorts of batteries and the batteries were full power under load.
    I tried the original sensor, no luck.
    It appears to me that the main clock unit's receiving ability isn't working but I don't know.
    Now what?

    How long should it take for the clock to automatically set?

    • @lacrossetechnology
      @lacrossetechnology  6 років тому

      Depending on your location, it can sometimes take up to 5 nights for the clock to receive the WWVB reception. Moving your clock near a window, away from other electronics, and having the front or back of it facing Fort Collins, CO are all ways to help speed this process up. If it doesn't pick up the signal after this time, you may want to consider setting the clock manually, as not all areas will be able to receive this radio signal. We apologize for any inconvenience.

    Hi what can I do if the clock is showing the wrong outdoor temperature reading?

    • @ckeilah
      @ckeilah 8 років тому

      Sheila Muirragui maybe it's not wrong. Put the clock and the "outdoor" sensor together in the same temperature-controlled room, and after a while see if they display the same reading.

    I just got this clock, and it's not reading the outside temperature at all. I walked through the setup, did everything correct.
    I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong... All the batteries are brand new, but nothing is showing for the outdoor temp, just two dashes.
    The clock and remote have been up and running for ~4 hours & still nothing.

    My skyscan MODEL 87800-87801 has been great for years but now the display is so fait I can barley see it. Is there a way to darken the display?

    • @lacrossetechnology
      @lacrossetechnology  4 роки тому

      Hey Jeff, unfortunately there is no contrast setting on your clock model. The best option at this point would likely be to look into a new clock. Feel free to message SkyScan directly here: skyscanatomicclocks.com/support/ or search via our extensive collection here: www.lacrossetechnology.com/collections/atomic-time -- If you have any further questions please just let us know. Our apologies for any inconvenience.

    I noticed the dashes in the outside temp so I changed the batteries in both. Then nothing changed, I tried the reset as you suggested. Now when I put the batteries back in, the clock beeps and then goes blank. NOTHING!!! I did noticed corrosion on the contact of the sensor I cleaned them. I had another sensor, same problem. NOTHING...... i BELIEVE IT'S THE SENSOR. But this is the second sensor I've purchased. Not a happy camper.....
