love it. i bought it today at a thrift store brand new in box with all the acsesories for only 3 dls but i would have paid full price if i knew it was this great. Go and buy it !!!
Great video. It helped immensely. I do have one concern though. My previous LaCrosse weather station recorded high and low records for the entire time the unit was powered on. This unit appears to erase the high/low temps each day? I was hoping to see improvements when upgrading to a newer model. Hopefully, I might have misunderstood? Thanks in advance. Dan in San Diego
Hi...I have a c87030 which I bought back on 11/28/16. All seems to be working fine, however, the external temperature appears to be ~4-5deg. higher than shown on my local weather reports & weather.com for my town. Do I need to calibrate it to minimize the difference ?
GREAT Video even to refresh my memory on how to use the C87214 functions I don't use too often or even just changing the batteries. One function you can clarify is if I set an "alert" and the "alert" does go off, how can I clear the "alert" icon on the display after I fix why the alert went off. Thanks
Hey Tim, great question! When an alert is triggered, the display will likely beep every minute until a button is pressed. The specific alert icon will remain flashing on the display until the value is back outside of that alert range. To stop the flashing in the meantime, you'll need to re-enter the alerts menu and either set that specific alert to OFF, or a value above/blow the current reading. Our apologies for not covering this more specifically in the video.
The signal works much better , and like I said she very reactive and alert. I do not know if your team has adjust the barometer but it works better than ever! You confirm?
Thanks for the video. Very informative, but didn’t answer my question. My outside temperature display is about 10 degrees warmer than the actual outdoor temperature. My sensor is not in the sun. It also shows low battery icon even after I installed new batteries. What suggestions do you have?
Hi Kay, our apologies for the trouble with your outdoor sensor. For best results, please try a new set of regular alkaline batteries from the same package in the sensor to help avoid possible incorrect low battery alerts. To test its accuracy, we'd recommend performing a side-by-side test as covered in our other video here: bit.ly/inaccurate_temp_readings -- If there is a drastic difference between your indoor and "outdoor" readings after this test, a new sensor would likely be needed. For help with this or for assistance in general, please message our support staff directly here: bit.ly/contact_techsupport. Or alternatively, send us a private message on our Facebook: bit.ly/LaxTech_Facebook or Twitter: bit.ly/LaxTech__Twitter page. We are here to help in any way we can. 😊
Great video and I was able to reset with no problems. All electronics should have this good of an explanation! One question: My forecast on my model C87214 shows the sun image, two cumulus clouds and a partly hidden dark cloud. Right now it's raining in my valley and snowing above 2000 feet, totally overcast and the sun never appeared today. Not too close a prediction. It's new as of yesterday so will it get better with several days of info gathering?
No worries! We're just happy to help. If you should need further assistance, please message our support staff directly here: bit.ly/contact_techsupport. Or alternatively, send us a private message on our Facebook: bit.ly/LaxTech_Facebook page.
I am enjoying my new weather station. I have bought a new outdoor temp/humidity detector. How do I couple it to the weather station so it will, I guess be a channel 2 indicator?
Hey Brent, we are thrilled that you're enjoying your new weather station. As for having the display show data for multiple sensors, this will depend on the weather station model you own and the extra sensor you purchased. But assuming you have either our C87214 or C87030, as featured in this video, these multiple sensor instructions are covered starting at the 23:12 mark in this video or on pages 11-12 of the full manual here: bit.ly/c87214_manual If you should need any further assistance, please message our support staff directly here: bit.ly/contact_techsupport. So I have had two of these units for awhile and just purchased a weather station as well. For these units, I have never been able to get the atomic time on either, yet I have atomic clocks that pick up the time correctly. There are no obstructions, etc. Are there any additional tips for connecting and maintaining the atomic time? Any known issues on that aspect? Also, you show in the video that you have atomic "on" yet you set the time. Could that be part of my challenge? Thanks in advance for your help!
Hi. I just connected the weather station and set it up exactly the same as in your video. I placed the sensor just next to the weather station(just for now) and could you explain me why despite that the sensor is placed next to the weather station there is over 1 Celsius difference between the outdoor and indoor reading on a weather station display? I`ve been waiting for over 15 minutes now and it is still the same. How can it be accurate after placing the sensor outdoor if it can be even accurate being next to each other?

Hi Sylvain, sorry for the beeping trouble. For our C87214, C87030, and similar models, this function can be found within the station's settings menu. The instructions for this can be found in the Settings Menu chapter starting at the 11:32 mark in this video or on page 6 of your full manual here: bit.ly/c87214_manual.
I followed the set up instructions exactly, got the station and sensor paired. But the screen is on with all info for about 5-7 seconds then flashes 3-5 times and comes back on for another 5-7 seconds.Just keeps repeating.I've done a reset twice and still have the same problem. How do i get the screen to quit flashing and stay on? I have the 308-1414B and shortly after it's 1 year warranty expired one of the arrow buttons broke and I never pressed on it hard or abused the weather station, then a few months later I accidentally bumped it off my speaker that is not very tall onto a basement carpet and all but 2 of the buttons broke so now I can only see the low temperature of the day. When I opened it since it's warranty expired it did not have a high quality built look to it and the circuit board for the buttons was flimsy. It worked great before then and rarely lost communication with the remote sensor and it was easy to reconnect to it by holding down the search for remote sensor button.

I want to love this weather station I just got but the temperature has done nothing but be all over the place. I set up the remote sensor in the same locations as my acu-rite and my other thermometer. This one is always from 6-15 degrees off! I've followed at the instructions and even followed what they say to do in this video and it's still way off and all over the place. It was 62 at night here and Temps falling and this said it was 89 and Temps rising. I'm about to just return this thing. Very nice screen and everything but useless if the temp isn't even within 10 degrees difference. I guess I could brush up on my math and just deduct 10g1t degrees off of what this station says... Super bummed on this
Debbie Peters that's a bummer. I emailed them like the person said too, when I got a reply, I had to clear a week on my calendar to start jumping through the hoops process lol trying to get this resolved is about as much if a pain in the ass as the thing not working is. Good luck. I'll probably tossing in the garbage and stick to my AcuRite. They're always on point.
KRS, I wish I would have read this before buying mine & have read others reporting basically the same problem. If you don't mind me asking you, do you know which model of the Accurite that you have? I don't want to wind up buying several weather stations to finally get one that really works as it is supposed to. I thought that I had researched this model enough, but apparently missed this problem altogether in what I read. Thank you for your post warning others.
Debbie Peters Yeah I think we're in the same boat(s). The AcuRite I have is a wireless, small unit. Pretty basic, nothing fancy. It says model 02044w1 it shows inside and outside Temps and time. The reason I wanted this weather station is I need to know outside humidity as well and temp alerts option on the LA Crosse was very nice. I paid $80 for this station that's pretty much a nice paper weight. I'm now trying to contact the company I purchased this from to see if they'll take it back. Going through the process the person from the company said to do in the comments is way way too ridiculous lol the questions they asked and the stuff they want me to do I am not doing. I'm no longer investing any more of my time nor energy into this. Hope you get your problem resolved.
Our model is the 1425B. It worked fine for 5 months then....incognito...it quit. I have tried every combination of methods to get the two units connected. Changed so many batteries as if I owned Duracell. And NOPE! Not talking to each other. The light on the sensor twitters some and then goes out. Ergo, I changed the batteries. I got beeps out of the base station but changed the batteries anyway. I waited 15 minutes 3 or 4 times for all reps. Then I started waited a couple of hours. That worked once. So, I tried it again for a half dozen more times but..NADA! I tried your method of factory setting (reboot?) by setting down uncharged over night. From the beginning, I pushed the button 20 times on several reps. Then I tried pushing it 30, 40 even 50 times. Then I pushed the other buttons, all the buttons, in as many lottery combinations that I could think of. Did I win. NO! Now it's pushed my button. Hate to see so much money go down the toilet. One solution is if I get any more frustrated with it, I'll hammer it into so many pieces that it will travel that way far from me quite nicely. Even so, I'm flexible and ready to give it just one more shot before it gets recycled. Got ideas? By the way, why don't you all have a brick and mortar location where we can have the set repaired if it is broke? I own two. And the other works fine. But if I can't get relief from this one, they will be the last of its kind.
I purchased the C97214 a few months ago and found that the 'forecast' seemed to be stuck on partly cloudy. On contacting LaCrosse regarding the problem, they replaced the unit. This unit has exactly the same problem even after allowing 3 weeks for the barometer to settle. Is this a common problem?
I live in Lake San Marcos, CA, which is about 8 miles from the ocean and at no more than 250 ft altitude. No other icons have appeared on the screen of either unit since initial installation.
The majority of the second half of this video showcases the actual LCD screen, where we walk you through the settings menu, set time alarms and alerts, setting up multiple sensors...etc. The bright studio lights make it a little harder to read than normal, which is why we choose to use graphics for pointing out the LCD features. Plus some of these elements will only show under certain conditions, thus making it hard to showcase instantly for a video.
I do wish that there was a station that concentrated mainly on outside weather on the screen. They all split the screen equally between in and out. It's a weather station for outdoor weather. The indoor temp should be a small part, and the rest for outside.
Our apologies for any trouble finding a station that fits your needs. We do want to note though that not all of our units split these sections equally, for a more weather focused item check out our current selection here: www.lacrossetechnology.com/collections/weather-stations
Hi, my reading inside the house not equal although the out sensor beside it, how can fix this? Also can we upgrade it by getting the rain and wind stuff?
It is not abnormal to see a couple degree difference between your sensor and station. These are programed in the factory with a tolerance of +/- 2 degrees (this cannot be modified). This video may help explain this: bit.ly/inaccurate_temp_readings This station unfortunately only allows up to two additional temperature and humidity sensors to be added. If you're interested in a station that offers more expandability (with wind & rain data) and possibly even remote monitoring, one of our connected La Crosse View stations may actually be a better fit. You can find our selection of those here: www.lacrossetechnology.com/products/monitoring-view/view-connected
Hey Jeff, this is likely a temperature or humidity alert. When triggered, the station will typically beep a few times each minute until that value moves outside of the alert range. A simple button push should turn off the beeping, but the alert icon will continue to flash until out of that range. Our apologies for not covering this in the video. If you should need additional assistance, please message our support staff directly here: bit.ly/contact_techsupport. Or alternatively, send us a private message on our Facebook: bit.ly/LaxTech_Facebook or Twitter: bit.ly/LaxTech__Twitter page.

@@taxi615Gotcha! If the Basic Restart steps covered at the 25:36 mark in this video did not resolve the sensor connection (be sure to press the TX button on the sensor after new batteries have been installed), then a new outdoor sensor will likely be needed. Springfield is our Canadian partner so our staff should be able to help or at least direct you to their support for further assistance. Sorry again for the trouble.
@@taxi615 Ah yes, we were assuming it was a model similar to the one shown in this video that uses sensors with this TX button option. No worries though, the process is still the same, just without that button push. Our staff should be in touch soon to help.
1.why station shows sunny/cloudy, but actually outside is raining? how to fix this problem? 2.does outdoor sensor have to face north only? 3.my model on the battery cover printed 872115, but on the back cover paper sticker shows C87214. so which model do I have? it looks like this instruction video black case. 4.why my station has no atomic time icon?
thanks for your quick reply. 1.I will wait 2 weeks to see if forecast accuracy is improved? 2.is outdoor sensor waterproof? 3.the station I got is C87214, according to its LCD layout. 4.viewing from the top angle, finally I found the barely visible atomic icon. however, there is no way to adjust it...

Hi Lin, if you've followed the restart steps at the 25:36 mark in this video, and you're still not seeing your sensor's data appear, please get in touch with our support team here: www.lacrossetechnology.com/support/index/form/ as you'll likely need a replacement sensor, which can be found on our website as well: www.lacrossetechnology.com/tx141th-bch-temperature-humidity-sensor -- Sorry for inconveneince.
Excellent weather station: 1- The outside temperature are accurate and also inside 2 humidity inside and outside are also acceptable
3-accurate weather forecasting 70-75% (sometimes more accurate than TV 4- Just a little thing that're weird, the comfort indicator value too high or low I recommend this station go pick one 5-Install the outdoor sensor in a shade place and at least 6 feet from the ground to allow the RF signal to travel well Note: This is the external transmitter that provided the weather forecast, the weather station only show the weather forecast Moins
When an alert value is reached, the station should beep a few times each minute until out of the alert range. To silence the alert sound, press and release any button on the station; the alert icon should continue to flash while in the alert range. Otherwise, you can always follow the steps covered at the 19:56 timestamp in this video to deactivate or adjust a specific alert. Hey Jen, this setting will depend on the product model you own, but assuming it is a weather station similar to the one shown in the video, the F/C setting is typically located in the Settings Menu. Hold the SET (or TIME SET) button until values start flashing to enter the menu. Use the +/- (or UP/DOWN) buttons to adjust settings and the SET button again to confirm and move to the next setting.
But if I can't get relief from this one, they will be the last of its kind.
is it ok to put the outdoor sensor under a awning ? will it still no when it rains?
Kevin Garbacz that s a forcast, not for current conditions.
How about using the actual readout instead of graphics so that we can see what the unit actually looks like?!
This video may help explain this: bit.ly/inaccurate_temp_readings
This station unfortunately only allows up to two additional temperature and humidity sensors to be added. If you're interested in a station that offers more expandability (with wind & rain data) and possibly even remote monitoring, one of our connected La Crosse View stations may actually be a better fit. You can find our selection of those here: www.lacrossetechnology.com/products/monitoring-view/view-connected
Nice video. However, I thought this thing had more than a 6-12 hour forecast which I can get by looking at the home screen on my smart phone.
+La Crosse Technology I agree!
What do the beeps mean? My unit will beep 4 times about5 - 10 seconds apart.
IS there a way to make it stay always illuminated?
If the AC adapter is used, the screen is always illuminated
Beeping stopped. However, I cannot get the Outdoor Temperature.
I cannot get my Forecast Station to stop beeping. Please help.
My station doesn't have a model number so how can I find out what model is it. I bought it in 2017 or 18. My station will not pair to the sensor.
Hey Jean, all of our products will have a model number printed or embossed either on the back or bottom of the device. If this is an item from a different company, we may unfortunately be unable to help. But for further assistance, please message our support staff directly here: bit.ly/contact_techsupport. Or alternatively, send us a private message on our Facebook: bit.ly/LaxTech_Facebook or Twitter: bit.ly/LaxTech__Twitter page. Once there, some pictures of the device may be helpful to get started. Our apologies for any inconvenience.
@@lacrossetechnology yeah I sent an email got a response but no model number all I have to go on is the springfield logo on the sensor and station. I sent pictures but its a mystery. Really hope I can make this work because it was doing great 2 years ago.
@@lacrossetechnology there are no buttons on the sensor. Its a simple case with battery tray
My wind and rain unit will not load ID number on the base station.

Help please: Outdoor side is not working, just shows dashes as show on the video. Tried what was said however, it did not work.
?if i need the device only for in room temp measurement - can i leave the sensor not connected at all
also, i need the device to bip (or make any other sound) when/if temperature is getting over certain measure.
?is this device has this option
Excellent weather station:
1- The outside temperature are accurate and also inside
2 humidity inside and outside are also acceptable
3-accurate weather forecasting 70-75% (sometimes more accurate than TV
4- Just a little thing that're weird, the comfort indicator value too
high or low
I recommend this station go pick one
5-Install the outdoor sensor in a shade place and at least 6 feet from the ground to allow the RF signal to travel well
Note: This is the external transmitter that provided the weather forecast, the weather station only show the weather forecast
Moins
how do i set the minimum temperature?
Hey Donald, sorry for any trouble. Could you please further describe what you mean by minimum temperature?
Can I mute alerts
When an alert value is reached, the station should beep a few times each minute until out of the alert range. To silence the alert sound, press and release any button on the station; the alert icon should continue to flash while in the alert range. Otherwise, you can always follow the steps covered at the 19:56 timestamp in this video to deactivate or adjust a specific alert. EASY TO SET ONCE YOU LEARN HOW TO SET IT,...ITS A BREEZE.
Thank you for the compliment
@@lacrossetechnology your welcome
in europe cant set time zone lol
Don't waste your time, they're not that good being prone to software lockups radio link issues.
Can someone please just show me how to change F to C without making me watch some hours long video?
Hey Jen, this setting will depend on the product model you own, but assuming it is a weather station similar to the one shown in the video, the F/C setting is typically located in the Settings Menu. Hold the SET (or TIME SET) button until values start flashing to enter the menu. Use the +/- (or UP/DOWN) buttons to adjust settings and the SET button again to confirm and move to the next setting. Page 6 of this item's full manual goes over this as well: cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0035/7443/1790/files/c87030-c87214-manual_revised_030717_1.pdf?v=1594066127
