That format is new best thing on your channel. Tier lists were great, but you can do very finite quantity of it. This hero spotlight series are good substitution for me.
dont worry the whole time he is doing math he is comparing the value of one point and that is totally moot becuase rain of fire is terrible and the actual math that mattters is the reduced damage not the value of the skillpoint
@@BobMarly-z4n the actual math that matter is the one of the value of the skillpoint actually. Let's say you are playing an Archmage and uou just hit level 4, you already have lvl 2 water elemental and lvl 1 brilliance aura. at level 4 you can only choose between lvl 2 brilliance aura or lvl 1 blizzard. You can't compare the whole value of lvl 2 aura to the value provided by lvl 1 blizzard, because even if you picked blizzard, you still have your lvl 1 aura value. That's why you only compare wether an added lvl 2 value to brilliance aura is better than blizzard or not. not the whole ability. And the same goes for Pit lord, you have lvl 2 cleave and lvl 1 howl, you hit lvl 4 and you need to calculate wether you will get more value from having lvl 1 rain of fire and lvl 1 howl, or just lvl 2 howl. That's why you count relative values and not the avsolute ones in RTS games
@@krzysztofputerko1943 rain of fire is a zero skill so NO its exactly like I said. there is no other way to put a fourth skill point except to throw it in the garbage and it wouldnt matter how efficient the gain of level 2 is compared to one becuase it is leagues above the other skill and is actually usefull. the fact u use a other hero as a example proves u cant fking read
"Lacks fienesse", is somewhat lore accurate, the pit Lord being a reckless destroyer and all. But at the same time, he does posses SOME cunning, such as spilling his blood into the fountain for the orcs to drink and fall under his influence. However, Mannaroth needed Tichondrius for that to happen.
So he started drinking, hooked Grom on the hot stuff, then his friend Thrall came to pick him up out of the bad company, so when he clubbed Thrall, Grom got sober and made a decision to choose friendship over drinking. The Pit Lord big M. can be seen to this day at the tavern, bringing the occasional Rain of Fire for the currious drive by's. Slowly dooming everyone.
You know I was thinking to myself. Why does this scratch a particular itch? What have I been missing that these kinds of things fill? And then it hit me. This feeling is what I used to get from reading game manuals. When I was a kid. I had tons of console games from the '90s and I used to always get in a really hot bath with a stack of maybe 15 or 16 game manuals or guides and I would just drink coke and go through all the manuals page by page. This is great.

As a long-time Azgalor-first enjoyer, it's good to see that you're finally highlighting the only true S-tier hero in the game. In all seriousness, I think the pit lord is among the best heroes for low elo play because he's incredibly tanky, which protects you from your own bad micro, and cleave absolutely wrecks a poorly-microed opposing army.
Bloodmage next - lots of interesting discussion points around Banish - how to use it to creep, using it on enemy dps hero, using it on your own vulnerable hero, using it as part of a nuke vs UD etc all with 0 cd. Also the mana siphon has lots of uses, Phoenix is one of the coolest ults in the game, and Flamestrike is a firm favourite for the 4v4 worker destruction cheese. Also, he's cool as fuck and has a great BAT.
Pitlord! my favorite hero. A real shame its not a playable hero in hots. The coil + unholyfrenzy pitlord combo is such a nice strategy. I dont know if this is good, but making a later altar you can get more units, then get tavern hero as you walk over map.
interesting to read the turn rate guide, shows once again how polished this engine is. Maybe some of the confusion comes there being two turn rates, an actual and a visual, like you notice sometimes how a unit hits attacks before it actually turned all the way towards its target. The guide talks about the visual in equally important terms, though for our purposes actual turn rate is what matters.
i am amazed and intrigued about all the flexible uses that the pit lord has. i am going to try that DK/Fiend/Pit tactic right now, sounds fun and versatile af :D
I don't play Warcraft 3; the last time I played was a decade ago, me and my bro fighting AI, but I love watching pros go at it and these videos is just fun
Glad the Death Coil tech got mentioned; this boy is CHONKY when you've got Death Coil I haven't played this game in forever and immediately thought "DK/PL, Necromancer Unholy Frenzy timing push" and then you mentioned it lol. Not sure which 3rd hero to take though.
Plus ... You can counter Pit Lord by delaying your upgrades. :) The more attack you have, the more powerful Howl of Terror is. All the other races can counter him, but are forced to play certain strats like having casters or high pop melee units or mass range. This means overall, Pit Lord and almost all casters go really well together. He can make unusual units stand out like Wyverns whete he reduces enemy damage, they prevent enemy from kiting the Pit Lord while kiting themselves.
Pit Lord is one of the best makeshift 3rd heroes. His Howl of Terror is a 30% damage debuff against non magic immune units and its duration is longer than its cooldown.
Shadow hunter. Specifically if there is any redemption for his big bad voodoo. (Like spirit link, or healing wards by him to offset enemy targeting, invuln potion, give him survival items/ alloftheabove etc.)
5:08 The labels on the back Paladins are backwards: the top Paladin has the lowest (8) armor and the lower Paladin has the highest (20) armor. This ironically reinforces the idea that the ability deals the same damage regardless of the target's armor xD
interestingly, the pit lord is the only hero added to the tavern who was already in the game in ROC. this sent me down a rabbit hole to try & see (without opening the editor) what the differences between the two versions were (because you DO fight AT LEAST 1 pit lord in the last mission of ROC), but all of the information says that the unit was added to the game in update TFT, which is not true & it's driving me insane lol does anyone confirm if the pitlord was designed in ROC & then his neutral enemy you never control design was ported wholesale to the tavern, or was the ROC pitlord the same deal as Magtheridon, the pitlord you fight in the illidan campaign in TFT who was designed as a boss encounter & therefor has so many abilities he can't be controlled by a human player bc the UI panel can't fit all the buttons
I rly look foward to Brewmaster's spotlight. Because i have no idea when to build towards each of his basic skills, and if i iirc i think i've seen Grubby take different combinations.
Pitlord being predominantly an Orcish hero is thematically satisfying

Ok, but this video does not explain why there is a burning legion demon chillin in a tavern
All of the legion leaders have been killed, so a lot of their generals have been forced to find new jobs
