I think eating leftovers is the reality of scratch cooking, especially in smaller households. I live alone and cook nearly all my meals at home. If you want to cook for yourself using fresh ingredients, while eliminating as much food waste as you can, you are going to eat leftovers. Thank you for showing the reality of that!
I agree with so many other of your commenters that one of the many best things about your content is your honesty. You and your lovely husband are a delight to watch. Also when my dad used to make beer he would save the grains from the brewing and my mom would make the most amazing bread using the beer making residue. Beer making residue is also good added to your compost or right in to the garden to amend your soil. Thanks for the lovely content!! Cheers
I just love your channel! Please don't ever apologize for being "normal" that's why we love you so much. You and Alex are so real and just give us what we want...recipe ideas that are approachable, delicious and easy. Thank you for making us feel like we are in the kitchen with our best friend and their silly husband. I literally laughed out loud numerous times at the interactions with you two this episode! Please keep doing what you're doing! And you too Alex! 😂 Jill M. Washington state USA
This kind of week is so much closer to how I would actually cook/ eat for a week (as far as variety and meal prep) so it’s really useful for me personally 👍❤️
Alex's editor commentary had me rolling on this one. Also I'm glad that you had a week of realistic meals with repetition, it's helpful to see some ideas on that front.
We are a few videos behind, so forgive me. But yes, we enjoy your videos just because you are you. You are a very genuine person and I relate to the way you think a lot. Alex is awesome and we always enjoy you both together. Keep being you because you are amazing. This video was just as great as any other you have done. Thanks for all the ways you have helped me grow as a person over the years.
Can I tell you how absolutely wonderful your channel is??? I love everything you make, you are inspiring me so much. I love vegetables....I’m not a vegan. But I think I could be with your recipes. Madeleine you have the most beautiful skin, all that clean eating or just your good genes. Your kitchen is super nice. I love a English cottage style. Thank you for your amazing videos.
I always loved your vegan food content BECAUSE your recipes are so practical and down to earth. You are the one who sort of demystified veganism for me and helped me ease myself into cooking more vegan food! This video was so inspiring.
It’s good to see you feeling better again. Your videos have a lovely aesthetic & style but I really enjoy the variety of your content & that you are sincere & genuine as well. No need to ever apologize for what your putting out to us 🥰
The pesto you could freeze it in ice cube trays. Was thinking about the bags for the wild garlic 🙈 I always use (new) dog poo bags when out with dog and see blackberries etc
I love watching all your food videos, main reason is you keep it so real. It's food that most of us could easily cook and prepare, normal portion sizes not like some I've watched which honestly I would give a four year old to eat, and you vary your meals so much, you can't possibly get fed up, Brilliant. Oh and you speak in a way that is so easy to follow. You really do want to be praised for this Madeleine, your doing a great job, and your looking fantastic all your hard work at the gym, and your healthy eating paying off, just in time for summer coming. 🥰🐾
I swear, the banter of you two always makes my day! 😄I'm watching this as I'm meal prepping for the upcoming days - perfect timing and great inspo, thank you for that!
Watching this to keep focused on my dinner. Yesterday, I did a great 3 meals and a snack, but in the evening I got hyperfocused on writing, so today I feel weird. I was hyperfocused all day again, and it was nearly 6pm and I hadn't eaten :o so I put on your video, heated up some home made soup and bread, put my home made potato salad and some other yummies like vegan motzalrella sticks. Full (accidentally) vegan meal, and I sat still to eat it for more than 10 minutes, yay! Now I have an orange so I have more vitamins - I hope my body forgives me for getting so distracted today and if it needs cereal for supper, I can do that
Madeleine “can you smell it” silly thing was I actually tried to smell it😂. As I’m watching I’m making cauliflower soup because it needed using xxxx Love all of your recipes x Have a wonderful evening xxxxx
Your house reminds me of my dad's old farm house. He gutted it and modeled everything. I wish I could show u pictures im sire ud love it. It had elements of copper an old wood butchers chopping block and a really old wood stove range. He had so many kitchen antiques and very old antiques from his doctors offices. It was absolutely amazing. ❤
Just saying I am watching your videos to have a comforting evening, I like your natural calming personality, your honesty and that you are to authentic. It calms me after a rushful day, I love to draw while just listening and watching your content. Thank you for this. Of course your recipes are inspiring too (and well I am eating some things 3-4 days as I am a single person and sometimes you prepare so much food you can just ... eat it for a week.. even if you throw it into the freezer).
Loved this video😂, I've been feeling a bit down, and to be totally honest, this was the first time I have properly laughed for a while. The sound effects and little captions that Alex throws into the mix while you are doing your thing are so much fun, and it's great to see you laughing out loud as well. Noted, I'm sure you don't have the odd little accident outside Maddie.😂❤
Lovely! The more 'bitter' olive oil is how its supposed to taste. I live in Italy and recently learned that the olive oil made for markets like the US and UK use the residue blended olive-mulch after it's been used to make the good stuff, to appeal to the more 'western tastebuds', leaving much of the vitamins and minerals already stripped away and a very bland flavor. Your olive oil should be bright green, not dull yellow. Much love!!
Yay more fun recipes! Yummy … I like your encouragement and helps me to challenge some different flavors in foods and trying out tofu! I’ve never had it before so I think i will give it a try…hoping it will go well…thanks Madeline for your fun video … greetings from california 🌹
Love this video. We’re in the middle of moving & I’m going to back to meal prep when we’re moved in. This video was right on time. Mint is a very hardy plant & if it has multiple leaves per stem, you can harvest some. I’ve had mint live outside through the winter.
Really great vlog thanks Madeleine. I love cooking from scratch, you know exactly what’s going in your food and be healthier. We all need to do it as long term you will be glad you did!!
Thank you for the olive oil talk...I've been recovered from an ED for over 2 years & olive oil is still a bit of a fear, likewise cause of the media & diet culture, so thank you
loved this! i always watch your food videos when i'm prepping food/cooking - wish i had one for every evening!!! you're definitely my most consistent favourite content creator :)x
Love your vlogs, you make such lovely recipes and also you are so real and relatable. You have great energy it really comes through to your viewers. Have a lovely weekend! 🥰
I’ve been travelling in SE Asia for three months now and even though it has been amazing to eat all this food, I REALLY miss cooking. This video was such a comfort to watch (as always!)
Because finding putting a meal plan together is so taxing at the minute (new mum) I have started getting hello fresh which mixes up the meals but for the full month using the same other meals in the week. so I'm only planning once a month, putting absolutely every ingredient on the list and just modify my grocery list with what we already have from the week prior.
Loving all your videos ❤ I am working through your cookbook I made you spinach bean and leek soup yesterday and today I made the spicy nuts. My question is what seeds do you mix inside the glass bottle I see you sprinkle it over your food.
Thanks for the lovely video! Just a thought - I've noticed that some olive oils tend to taste quite bitter in combination with lemon or lime juice, so maybe it's the mix of those two and not necessarily the oil itself.
If you do make fermented white cabbage or buy some, you should really make this salad I used to eat all the time back in my home country, in Poland. It’s fermented white cabbage that’s chopped roughly (Tesco sells fermented white cabbage in the Eastern European fridge section), mixed with white onion, salt, lots of dill and olive oil. It’s usually served in the summer time with fish but I could eat it by itself, it’s THAT good! ❤
Your food always looks so tasty. I have been vegetarian for abouts 35 years and mostly cook from scratch I don't eat much processed food I tried tofu for the first time last week, it was like eating a wet sponge😂
I wish Alex show me how to make that yummy bread. You two are just too cute together. Funny. The meals looked yummy. Hello Frankie. Such a pretty cat. Orzo looks really good. I wanna try that with peppers and mushrooms. I do love these kinds of videos. I wouldn't mind seeing more. Use what you have. It was a fun video. I enjoyed it.
I love watching your videos especially meal videos. When talking about your protein powder you also say you take other supplements one or them being symprove. What is the other one please? I’m looking to take supplements in what I am lacking thank you
Sorry, another comment. Love your curly hair, natural look! You are naturally beautiful, and on the day you were feeling anxious, did you blow dry your hair smooth? You don't need to. You rock the curls! Wishing you both a Happy Easter❤
Omg when you said one for one that brought back memories of me and my friends swapping crisps when we were younger such a british thing! new subscriber loved this video are going to watch all of your others now! xox
I'd love to share with you my cavolo nero pesto recipe. I'm not a big fan of plain pesto on pasta as it's too intense and rich, and neither are my daughters (age 3,1), but they devour this green leafy version, which makes the necessary huge amounts of oil feel a little more saintly!
@@MadeleineOlivia The salad is a vegan cookbook with £1.00 recipes. The only time I get deliveries in the morning if it is delivered through the Royal Mail because all the other delivery/courier companies seems to be afternoons/evenings.
Loved this video. Thank you for sharing “normal” food which is so relatable and delicious!! Will definitely be trying them out. Thanks to you I now make popcorn at home. Please can I ask where the bread/cake stand is from? Xx
Wild garlic aka ramps take 7 years to mature. Please make sure you forage sustainability. Taking only 1 or 2 leaves from each plant and never digging up the bulb. The most intense flavor is in the leaves anyway. Unfortunately they've become very popular and "the in thing" over the last few years and they are being over foraged without people researching or realizing how long it takes for those little patches to grow. I'm happy you only took what you needed for your pesto recipe especially since you never know who else might be foraging the same patch.
When I pressed play on this I was tucking into my dinner in a pink fluffy housecoat. When it's still a bit chilly is there a cosier way to have dinner.
Loved seeing your recipes ❤. Lots of fab ideas. I have to admit I NEVER forget to eat 😅. I'd probably be a few pounds slimmer if I did. Happy Easter to you both 🐣🐰🐇
The bircher muesli says it serves 2 people, not 4 or 3 haha! For me, it would be one small serving (I actually do 80g oats lol). Btw, which Form protein flavour do you recommend/like the best? x And how did you make the coleslaw?
My daughter has just turned pescatarian but is also allergic to dairy / soya so vegan meals are great Have watched your videos, v inspiring thank you. Btw where is the fleece from? Love it!
Hi, new to your channel & looking to start my vegan journey💕 your journey is truly inspiring☺️ I had a question about ensuring the adequacy of vitamin B12 in a vegan diet. How do you add enough to your diet? After doing some research, apparently that was the only concern that came up. Any advice you may have? Thanks💕
The fact that you are both so natural and normal is why you are so popular and loved. Please do not change!
Thank you ❤❤

With regard to the pine nuts, we usually substitute sunflower seeds with good results.
Such an important message about being patient with yourself and taking the time you need on your goals. ❤

Mmm I love Bärlauch! My favorite way to enjoy them is atop buttered (vegan, of course) bread.

Loving all your videos ❤ I am working through your cookbook I made you spinach bean and leek soup yesterday and today I made the spicy nuts. My question is what seeds do you mix inside the glass bottle I see you sprinkle it over your food.
