Totally agree. I started doing low impact high intensity workouts and it had done a world of wonders for my body. I have a bad knee so I can be doing too much jumping. I always though low impact meant I wouldn’t burn lots of calories and I was so wrong!
Excellent commentary, Gregory. I’ve never understand why the mainstream boosted her so much other than the masses that watched enjoyed the “fat shaming”. I appreciated how passionate you were.
Those coaches should be ashamed of themselves, I hope they are in hiding. Disgusting behaviour 🤬 In my 18years as a former PT and fitness coach, I have never ever spoken to or treated any of my clients this way. If I did that... I would expect and deserve to be punched in the face.
That’s right I can’t even look at this show anymore. I am just appalled at this. We’re looking at contestants who seem very capable of changing and innocent and we are looking at this behavior from coaches and I’m just shocked we see this all the time in boot camps and jail programs like beyond scared straight. can we already know scared straight programs have not learned anything and I bet those contestants didn’t learn how to do extreme workouts immediately. And those banned diet pills this is appalling.
These coaches are garbage people to treat others like this. I like Gregory's & Mark Wildman's approach. The goal is success. You don't brutalize overweight people who haven't exercised with this obstacle course of humiliation & expect that to lead to success.
I am currently on a quest to reclaim my health. My tools of choice are intermittent fasting, ketogenic healthy eating, daily time on an elliptical, walking, some dumbell work, gentle yoga for bigger bodies, and using a recumbent bike. The vile abuse suffered by the contestants on that show is horrible, demoralizing, and counter-productive. Thank you so much for your education and for speaking out against the abuse. I wish everyone struggling could get the kind of support that you provide.
Here’s the issue… neither of these “coaches” understand true nutrition and fitness. They’re just celebs that look good. This is why Biggest Loser is notorious for rebound weight gain. They don’t give these people ways to keep long term health goals.
They don't care about their long term health, just profit. And this is an American show, they love abuse (check hells kitchen and so on, aggressive craziness)
Put the blame on the producers of NBC as well, and not just Bob and Jillian alone. The producers were the ones who allowed this abusive behavior to go on and don’t care about long term health.
@@isabeau82 the bad news is that they rebooted the show and nothing’s changed except they did it more in holistic way but they still did these hard workouts, making contestants vomit, and are still doing challenges and some contestants have gotten hurt on the show. I remember watching this show waaaaay back in the day and thinking to myself «shit, if this is how personal trainers treat people who want to get in better shape, regardless of whether they’re overweight or not, Imma just pass». I'm 31. I'm in shape. I work out regularly.... I wouldn't do half of these workouts because they are pretty much guaranteeing absolutely horrible form and injury.
You are such a great coach, Gregory. I completely agree with you. Sometimes we have to quit to come back and fight back harder. As always, great (and motivating) video. Greetings from Chile.
This is so incredibly sad. How can they take people who may have never worked out before, and have them do these ridiculous excercises while yelling and down grading them? 🤬🤬🤬 I can't even do them and I'm mildly over weight. It isn't cool to make others feel unworthy when they are all doing their best to change their life.
Some contestants on the show had heart attacks or other things that made them go to the hospital as a result of the training. This wasn’t shown on air.
It's sooo sad how she got yelled at for "coming back" ): She should get praised because it's AMAZING that she actually returned to that hell... It should be the goal to make the experience of working out a GOOD and positive one so they actually want to do it again and to make them look forward to it~ To actually learn how to have fun at it , I think this would help so much more to "keep being active" in your lifestyle~ I'm sorry if what I'm saying is wrong or something~ it's just how it was for me back then, when I started to work out
As someone who has lost 12 stone with a spinal cord injury and needing a full hip replacement I can't do most exercises as it is bad for my joints so it is definitely bad on joints of people who are heavier. I quit a diet exercise regime 3 years ago then found what worked for me in 2020 and haven't looked back. I am so glad that there are real coaches in this world like you who treat bigger people as actual people who are worthy of compassion, love and effort thank you and keep doing good work
I am absolutely disgusted with this level of absolute cruelty and extreme physical and mental abuse..these people need locking up !!! This joke of a programme needs to STOP and the producers need SACKING !!!
The bad news is that they rebooted the show and nothing changed. Even though they said that they are doing it in a holistic manner, it still doesn’t change the fact that they are still making contestants do vigorous exercises and the challenges where one of the contestants got injured.
Bro, You have spoken my heart today. I don't respect these trainers. They are not there to help. They have their own agendas. The saddest thing is that SO MANY people think this is how training should be done due to the popularity of the show!!! If people refuse to treat you with dignity, have NOTHING to do with them. This show and these "coaches" damaged the fitness industry in my opinion.
Most contestants put their weight back on after the show. They teach them to loose weight in so the wrong way. I used to weigh 278 of pure lazy fat. Im 155 of muscle now, took years, not months.
I used to watch this show all the time when it first came out. It inspired me a bit that if people who were hundreds of pounds heavier than me could work out, I could too. But I stopped because they never focused on nutrition. It was just yell and scream at people to do more right after they puked their guts out. And then why they gained it back, well duh...you didn't treat the core reason for the overeating and no one in the real world can lose 10 to 12lbs a week.
I thought at first that the biggest loser inspired me to lose weight but they rarely focused on nutrition. This is all the producer’s own doing because abuse is what sells on TV.
Complete disregard for their well-being. Disgraceful! It brought me to tears to see the abuse. If there was previous trauma of abuse, these coaches just made them feel worse about themselves.
Right on brother. Anyone who helps people change their lifestyle long term knows you have to develop a relationship with mutual respect and trust so they can develop a better relationship with physical activity and better eating habits. Plus injured clients are bad for business.
I do HIIT classes at my gym and one of the trainers is a less intense version of Jillian Michaels (he doesn't get in people's faces, but he does encourage people to push themselves and does the yelling thing, though not directly to specific people, which is good). Our HIIT class is very individualized but team-centric at the same time. It's nice to see people in various levels of fitness doing the classes because it allows people to choose their own weights for different exercises and the trainers are great at understanding that some people are using heavier weights and may not be able to do the complete set and that some people are going lighter than what they can definitely do. I usually do heavier weights because I'm trying to get stronger: if I put my weight down, my trainer doesn't yell at me..they know I push myself to my limit. Biggest Loser is just capitalizing off another industry, it doesn't create a sustainable routine to maintain health.
I love your emphaty towards obesse people want to be fit. You and Coach Greg are one of my several fitness youtubers who encourage people to enjoy their practice/ workout and with safe
I can't decide who I think is worse: the abusive coaches or the viewers thinking it's good entertainment. Maybe it's the company owners behind the show. I don't know. It baffles me that there's an audience for that kind of show.
I would say both the producers of the show and Bob and Jillian. The production team of NBC allowed the abuse to go on because they thought that it would make good TV.
And to think I watched several seasons of TBL in the past, thinking it was inspiring me to lose weight. I changed my mind after hearing former contestants come forward who regained the weight they lost (due to their wrecked metabolisms from TBL), and heard of what really went on behind the scenes of the show. I see it MUCH differently! Thank you for talking about how it SHOULD be done, with true compassion and healthy motivation! That show WAS abusive to the contestants! BTW, I lost 50 lbs. during the pandemic through a healthier diet plan, power walking for exercise (NOT being verbally abused), and a HEALTHY, supportive online support community to turn to.
That is the reason I hate trainers majorety of them is like this. I train at home and if I would go to a gym I would not let any trainer to get close to me!!!
Yes being a trainer is a lot more than just know how to train. I work as a physiotherapist in the hospital so I "train" people who are sick and injured and bigist chalange is their mind not their body. I guess the same is with personal trainers
I am disgusted how these overweight people are treated! They should not call themselves coaches!! 🤬😡 As a coach we need to support and lift up people to give them tools to motivate themselves. 💪
So completely agree! I can't understand why she ever was 💁🏻♀️ she's such a c u next Tuesday I cannot conceive that she's ever been an inspiration to anyone, ever.
Thank you for granting the candidates the dignity they deserve and pointing out the evident deficiencies and cruelty of the coaching. Thank you very much indeed
I completely feel the same anger towards this incredibly abusive behavior. The whole premise of this show is exploitation of vulnerable people for pure profit. It should be held criminally liable. In my personal training business, I have been shocked at how many potential clients ask if I am going to yell at them during training. It breaks my heart because I can see how much the general public is negatively influenced by this show. Everything about their approach is wrong, dangerous, and sadistic. If a person has such difficulty with mobility, then how is screaming at them going to make them capable of doing anything?? When the mind thinks negatively, the body will respond negatively. Jillian, that’s called science, a subject you apparently bypassed on somehow becoming a personal trainer. Yo, where is the counterpart show where people are treated with respect, kindness and support? Would that not sell as much? These people and the creators of the show have no business in fitness from any aspect.
Thank you for sharing Janet! You're coming from the exact same place as we do. This stereotype of being yelled at is a stigma that needs to broken for people to feel free and safe to engage with a personal trainer. - Gregory
I find it hypocritical how Jillian Michaels, the bully who is disguised as a trainer, says that her clients need to make a change. She is not making the world a better place.... She is ABUSIVE. She needs to look within herself, and make changes.
yknow what i just realised? come to think of it, growing up watching this is probably where the negative self talk habit came from whenever i worked out before. i thought i was terrible if i dont “push myself”
I watched this video a long time ago and it gave me a bad feeling. These two famous Trainers humiliated these people to the public and it was disgusting. I'm very impressed that Lebe Shark is doing the same to them now. The world needs to know that this was wrong! I have a personal trainer that would never do that to me... he's tough but he respects me. Thank you Lebe. Your videos a very interesting and professional. Are you from New York? You sound like it but it seems like you're living in Europe (just like me). Have a wonderful day!
I wholeheartedly appreciate your compassionate and empathic reaction, Gregory. I know how it feels to be constantly picked on and made fun of for being fat cuz I have been fat-shamed for months by my peers even though I was only a little chubby. And I can only imagine what bullying big-sized people go through at the hands of so called fitness enthusiasts or self proclaimed experts. In my experience, many people who got into fitness started bullying others who were not hitting gym like them. Fitness is supposed to make you feel better physically and mentally. But unfortunately, from what I've seen, some people use fitness as a license to downgrade others who may look out of shape.
Your right. Encourage progression from within the person. Raising cortisol and lowering self esteem is not the right way. When the coach is not there they will give up.
It brings me joy watching you reaction. I can see you truly care about People's well- being, and can hear it in your voice how important being healthy is, also like how compassionate you are about educating and passing on the knowledge to others with kindness. This is how you set people up for failure. They will hate going to the gym or interacting with any type of help at the gym. This creates an abuse/judged feeling whenever engaging in exercise. It might get results for the show but the results are temporary and the mental is forever. So sad.
if you didn't stop to cringe/get annoyed, I probably wouldn't be able to finished. It's so painful to watch the extent to these people are degraded, vile
Human dignity is inviolable, this should not only be a mandate for any constitution or law, but also how every Person gets dealt with. But hey its the US of A 'Land of the free'. 😬
This is why and when I stopped watching those shows. It's so insulting and cruel. Truly the nightmare that ppl are scared of that keeps them away from the gym.
Thanks for your honest words! Such a disgusting, disrespectful show shouldn't be allowed. Who does Jillian Michaels think she is, a Godess who can treat people like that? I would fire her right away if I were responsible for that show. She's just awful and a shame! I don't get the participants as well. I would never let a stranger treat me like that. Just get up, you're an adult. Noone has the right to talk to you that way and in public on TV!! Unbelievable
This is the producer’s own doing because they were only there for the entertainment purposes, not people’s lives. Not to mention that they quietly cancelled the show because they were at fault for allowing such behavior and it’s also the reason why a lot of the contestants gain their weight back.
I can really feel your aggression, and rightly so... I once weighed 145 kg and then I was supposed to go jogging and I ruined my knees. It's so hard for an overweight person, he needs support, encouragement and love and not pressure. Thanks for your content.
Thank you for putting this out there...I detest Jillian Michaels, she is a poor excuse for a person nevermind a coach! I am a trainer and I just can never imagine talking to someone like that! Disgusting

This is textbook abuse. This is certainly not the way in which you help people who are overweight lose weight. This is one of the reasons why I refuse to pay for a personal trainer or to go to a gym where people will judge you. On my own I have built my own personal in-home gym and I've been very consistent and have improved my fitness and stayed consistent over the last several months. Encouragement, motivation support is what is needed for effective weight loss not abuse
Thank you for bringing this up man. This is all the producers and coaches fault for pushing these contestants. Bob and Jillian have been pissing me off after rewatching these episodes on biggest loser. They are so condescending. Too bad they brought back the show again and guess what nothing changed. Also the fact that people are losing big numbers in a week which is Not healthy period.
I have to say that I believe there is a place for making people feel low. Especially, and mainly when it's known up front that it is gonna happen and is volunteered for. But, I also would agree that crawl, walk, run needs to exist as well.
They can't fire their trainers, they're trying to lose the most weight & win a prize, but I definitely agree with you about the exercises that demean them, that's not the way to coach & train them🤬😡
I'd harm Jillian Michaels. My weight issues mainly stem from mental illness, and I would flip out. I've gone from 278 pounds to 220 pounds by dealing with my mental and physical health issues. If someone was talking to me like that, it would not go well for anyone. Once you're in a good place mentally, it gets easy. I have never lost weight and gotten so much stronger in my life. My back doesn't hurt all the time. I can just stand up off the couch with my leg power. But I started slowly. Climbed the stairs more. Walked for 10 minutes. I increased things from there.
I'm *only* 100 lbs. overweight, not 200. And I have never had any weight-loss "professional" speak to or treat me with respect and dignity -- as if I were a person, not just a collection of faults and flaws. And that goes for a lot of medical "professionals" too. I wish I'd had a chance to meet someone like you along the way. 😢
I could not agree with you more. I truly think this programme would put people off doing anything about their weight rather than motivate them at all. I admire your compassion for these people its not easy for them they're only starting out.

Totally agree. I started doing low impact high intensity workouts and it had done a world of wonders for my body. I have a bad knee so I can be doing too much jumping. I always though low impact meant I wouldn’t burn lots of calories and I was so wrong!
I love your passion and respect for people regardless of the client’s state of health. I’m a military retiree - this video reminds me of boot camp.
Thank you Regina! - Gregory
Boot camp is not quite like this. And you don’t go to the military in morbidly obese shape.
This was the greatest Lebe Stark episode in modern UA-cam history!!!!!
Thank you Johnny! - Gregory
Excellent commentary, Gregory. I’ve never understand why the mainstream boosted her so much other than the masses that watched enjoyed the “fat shaming”. I appreciated how passionate you were.
I hope I channeled my anger the right way. This topic is very dear to my heart. Thanks for sharing Amanda! - Gregory
Those coaches should be ashamed of themselves, I hope they are in hiding. Disgusting behaviour 🤬
In my 18years as a former PT and fitness coach, I have never ever spoken to or treated any of my clients this way.
Uh oh. Gregory's gonna bring it!
Edit: Gregory did in fact, bring it. Standing ovation to you, sir.
I’m not sure why, but this had me in tears. Thank you for this ♥️
These coaches are garbage people to treat others like this.
I wish you lots of success in your journey! Thanks for sharing! - Gregory
There's tough love, and then there's this which is straight up bullying
Here’s the issue… neither of these “coaches” understand true nutrition and fitness. They’re just celebs that look good. This is why Biggest Loser is notorious for rebound weight gain. They don’t give these people ways to keep long term health goals.
They don't care about their long term health, just profit. And this is an American show, they love abuse (check hells kitchen and so on, aggressive craziness)
Put the blame on the producers of NBC as well, and not just Bob and Jillian alone. The producers were the ones who allowed this abusive behavior to go on and don’t care about long term health.
@@bkopgamer Of course, they "ordered" the abuse
@@isabeau82 the bad news is that they rebooted the show and nothing’s changed except they did it more in holistic way but they still did these hard workouts, making contestants vomit, and are still doing challenges and some contestants have gotten hurt on the show. They should’ve had it off the air for good.
I remember watching this show waaaaay back in the day and thinking to myself «shit, if this is how personal trainers treat people who want to get in better shape, regardless of whether they’re overweight or not, Imma just pass». Jillian was insane, and I’ve never managed to stomach her since. Not even to this day.
I feel you Mr. Stark, this TV show is just another part of what our modern society has evolved into, remember that people like you and your other half do the real work of helping people do some good for themselves, I thank you with much love 🍀🍀🍀
This is just abusing. You're so right.
😔😔
The biggest abuse is what they should call the show.
I'm obese and have hyperphagia. I wanted to get into kettlebell training, I discovered your content because I was looking for kettlebell content. I subscribed because I felt you had pertinent information to give. This particular video comes and gets me. You sir have my upmost respect. Thank you for that video.
Thanks for sharing Pat! - Gregory
Yes! Thank you Francisco! - Gregory
Thanks. "This is abuse." Yes, thank you for saying it so clearly.👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
It's sooo sad how she got yelled at for "coming back" ):
She should get praised because it's AMAZING that she actually returned to that hell...
It should be the goal to make the experience of working out a GOOD and positive one so they actually want to do it again and to make them look forward to it~
To actually learn how to have fun at it , I think this would help so much more to "keep being active" in your lifestyle~
I'm sorry if what I'm saying is wrong or something~ it's just how it was for me back then, when I started to work out
As someone who has lost 12 stone with a spinal cord injury and needing a full hip replacement I can't do most exercises as it is bad for my joints so it is definitely bad on joints of people who are heavier. I quit a diet exercise regime 3 years ago then found what worked for me in 2020 and haven't looked back. I am so glad that there are real coaches in this world like you who treat bigger people as actual people who are worthy of compassion, love and effort thank you and keep doing good work
Gregory i have gained so much respect for you after watching this video. Love your kettlebell workouts
Oh no 😢 I used to think Bob Harper was the sweet one 😭 I can't believe I never noticed this! It has been years since I saw the show though.
Their tactics aren’t realistic at all. Slow and steady wins the race is the name of the game for sure.
Your compassion just made me subscribe.
I never liked that tv show EVER from day one since back when it originally started
Me neither. I watched a few minutes, saw the humiliation and said never again.
This is just sad
And so dangerous emotionally and physically
Happy you called this out
Complete disregard for their well-being.
Thanks for sharing! - Gregory
Totally understandable you reaction ! I’m so angry 😡 right now !! That’s not the way to motivate this people !!!
That is the reason I hate trainers majorety of them is like this. I train at home and if I would go to a gym I would not let any trainer to get close to me!!!
Thank god, not all trainers are like this Mihajlo. - Gregory
Yes being a trainer is a lot more than just know how to train. I work as a physiotherapist in the hospital so I "train" people who are sick and injured and bigist chalange is their mind not their body. I guess the same is with personal trainers
They are creating hateful society without any empathy. And the people like these are the source of problem not solution.
I never watched this show before, this is pure abuse and humiliation, absolutely shocking! Those coaches are a disgrace to coaches everywhere
I am disgusted how these overweight people are treated! They should not call themselves coaches!! 🤬😡 As a coach we need to support and lift up people to give them tools to motivate themselves. 💪
Preach brother! - Gregory
I’m surprised after all these years Jillian Michaels is still famous.
My pleasure; thanks for sharing! - Gregory
The most pathetic thing is the Jillian's mother is a psychiatrist and so she knows better and still chooses to do this to people.
yknow what i just realised? come to think of it, growing up watching this is probably where the negative self talk habit came from whenever i worked out before. i thought i was terrible if i dont “push myself”
Have a wonderful day!
hi there
@@joydevmukherjee Hello
I honestly didn't realize how horrible her treatment of these people were and its all for ratings and drama! Yuck!
Lol. The intensity. They had to be called out. Great job!!
It brings me joy watching you reaction. I can see you truly care about People's well- being, and can hear it in your voice how important being healthy is, also like how compassionate you are about educating and passing on the knowledge to others with kindness. That's what motivates people and sets them up for long-term success. Thank you we need more of you in this WORLD. Keep up the AWESOME work🙂🙏👍

This is such an uncomfortable watch, seeing Shay being treated like this it's disgusting.
It’s not just shay but the other contestants on the show that are treated like shit.
The world needs more people like you
Bam! Core values in the right places! Thank you for this Gregory! 🙌🏼
I felt your pain..Thank you for the video....Your are great!!!
That is why i hate programs like this. In shock by these so called coaches ...makes me angry.
Hi man, really like your passionate opinion! Your clients must be really lucky to have a coach. Competent in working the kettlebell, competent in the human psyche. And have a high emotion intelligence. Keep up the good work! :)
I appreciate that Pascal! - Gregory
This is how you set people up for failure. They will hate going to the gym or interacting with any type of help at the gym. This creates an abuse/judged feeling whenever engaging in exercise. It might get results for the show but the results are temporary and the mental is forever. So sad.
your passion unmatched here. Thank you for that.
if you didn't stop to cringe/get annoyed, I probably wouldn't be able to finished. It's so painful to watch the extent to these people are degraded, vile
Human dignity is inviolable, this should not only be a mandate for any constitution or law, but also how every Person gets dealt with. But hey its the US of A 'Land of the free'. 😬
Makes me want to cry 😭
Thank you for this Video. Thank for your respect. Every have his own limit and you gave to respect that.
Alles für die Show. Furchtbar.
7:23 "The look of pure evil, that's what it is man". True words 😢.
This is why and when I stopped watching those shows. It's so insulting and cruel. Truly the nightmare that ppl are scared of that keeps them away from the gym.

You are absolutely right!!!🗣👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Thanks for listening! - Gregory
Thank you for letting us know the right thing about coaching
Thanks for making this video!! Thank you Sir!!🙏🏾
I have a lot of DVDs by these trainers and the workouts suck. I just tossed her winning by losing book.
You're welcome!
Thank you for putting this out there...I detest Jillian Michaels, she is a poor excuse for a person nevermind a coach! I am a trainer and I just can never imagine talking to someone like that! Disgusting
I thank you so much for the work that you do. I have obese weight, and I was looking for an exercercize lifestyle that I could afford to maintain on my humble budget. I am so thankful to have found you and the rest of the kettlebell community on UA-cam. I really think that you could set up a kettlebell coaching accadamy. It would be great to have your method and ethos available globaly. It could help lots of people to have your dvd programme and also access to a club with coaches trained by you. God bless.
You're so welcome brother! Great to hear! We've already set up an academy that you can find here: academy.lebestark.ch. So great to hear that we're able to support you on your journey! - Gregory
He is absolutely right
This is textbook abuse.
Thank you for this. I love your passionate compassion
I appreciate that!
Such a great video respect 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
You’re right... PURE EVIL!
You’ve heard of treating someone like a dog? What is so much worse is making them behave like a dog.
Thats Amerika my god i have a dvd off her workout im gonna trow it in the trash.i dont wanna workout with such a bully.
