From round 3 Tyson's legs were gone.. Knees? Hips? He had no leg power - which he had in spades as a young fighter. The old adage "you can't fire a cannon from a canoe..." is as valid now as it was at the dawn of time.
Just turned 51 (f), have been working out with KB s for the last 7 months, feeling strong and powerful 💪 😂 your video made me laugh, loved it. I can't compete with fit 20 yrs old people, but am still fitter than many many others. KBs helped me becoming a better runner and bike rider as well. And can't wait for the skiing season to start, too, I'll be even stronger. Love your channel, grüess from Zurich 🙋🏻♀️🙏💪😁
actually rumors going around that there was a fight-script... indeed mike looked better in his sparring then in the final fight... don´t know what to think about this circus...netflix, a youtube-boxer and in the middle mike tyson....world is just wrong...
@@chingonbass And they are CORRECT. It was faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaake. ALl his fights were staged and there is a video about it that has been on youtube many years now.
I'm 55. Limited by disc injuries - herniations at L4/5, S5/1 (accident in 2001) and C7/T1 (accident in 2021). I started back training in early 22 - using KBs primarily. Resting HR is 50bpm, VO2max somewhere near 50.. I now train 3 times a week compared to 5 2 yrs ago because I'm training harder. I can't put anything over 28kg o/head with singles due to the C7.. so I do light volume work and max out on heavy days with 2*24kgs. I "feel" fitter than I did but I know I'm not - I did the SSST in 2011/12 - old style one hand swap with the 24. The real difference now compared to then is consistency - when Id go balls out I'd invariably get injured. Now I listen to my body - if I feel "meh" I take a week off and do some longer dog walks. Great video Gregory ❤
I appreciate the video Gregory, I wanted to applaud Mike for getting in the ring at his age, there has been a lot of negativity around it, but being a similar age to myself, he still had to get in shape and do the work and he entertained millions of people. I found it inspirational in a way and spurred me on to keep training . Keep up the great work!
At age 52, my recovery after a workout takes multiple days or more now depending on the workout. I vary the stress on my body by switching up the workout splits so I’m not working the same muscles in multiple workouts throughout the week. I participated in a 3-day adult basketball camp in October and completed a 26 mile marathon over the course of the three days with all the running involved. It took me an entire week to recover fully. My focus as I age is to eat cleaner, reduce my body weight, increase my flexibility/ range of movement and improve my cardiovascular health.
I really appreciate this video. I am about 39 and I love your work outs. But they really wear me out. I have had to modify some of your stuff to work for me (longer breaks or no timer). I always say there are no excuses only modifications. Kettlebells rule and so do you! Thanks again
I'm almost 40 and i did the same. Never forget that Lebe Stark 's job is only to train and make videos, and we're ordinary guys from different fields. We don't make money with our workouts. We do it after work just to be healthy.
Are there any other people who work out in that gym? I think people rooted for Mike Tyson because they appreciated an older person being active and defying time. LeBron James is incredible. I hated to see Pete Carroll get fired from the Seahawks. He was in his 70's and had so much enthusiasm for his job. I enjoy your show and instruction.
Im not disgreeing with your perspective, but maybe your conclusion. Im 40 and i train harder than i did when i was in my 20's... when i was a college soccer player, amature boxer, and activley competeing in Olympic weightlifting. No drugs. Not an athlete (im a lawyer). My speed, power, stamina, etc, is as good, if not better then when i was in my "prime" i still play soccer for a mens league, still train boxing 3 hours a day and spar 20 year old fighters (no youtubers), running, lifting, etc. Its programming. If you program like you said, you can train heavy and intense. And my disagreement is that if you program correctly, which will allow you to have heavy and intesne sessions without burnout or injury... your attributes dont need to decline. Everyone seems to forget that tyson stopped fighting and training for real in 2005. 19 years ago. Had he kept going, maybe didnt live so hard, had good programming, and a better structured/longer camp... he wouldnt have looked like he did. Everyone declines with age because every aspect of your life changes to facilitate less need. Compare your challanges physically when you were young to when you were old and you might realize why people slow down. You dont slow because you have to... you slow because you can. Look at all these never age "biohackers" popping a million supplements and doing therapies that have been scientifcally shown to do jack. Whats the one thing they do that makes a differnece. Constant physical activity. Challanging physical activity. Which, suprise suprise... noticably moves the needle.
I remember watching Sugar Ray Leonard's last fight where he looked like he was in slow motion against an opponent that was never in his category when Ray was in his prime. Also Joe Lewis the Kickboxer whose last fight was when he was in his early 40's against a much younger opponent, while Joe won, and deservedly so, he took a hell of a lot more shots than he ever had in the past fights again against someone not in his class. So yeah this was no surprise.
Saw the fight too. Made me so sad. Like many others, i was thinking Mike would show me i could defy this aging process I’m experiencing (Im 62). It was hard to watch him shiffle around but it made me respect where i am. The ither day i did ur kettle bell routine for beginnners (three moves, two minutes each, two rounds). As alwsys inloved it, but the next day i realized i had really tweaked my neck and back. So Today i need to rest as much as i hate it. But i jnow rest is important. So i’ll stetch and some oight yoga. Maybe sime meditation and a walk. 🥹. Appreciate you telling us the truth. Im here for the long haul. My egomcan go take a nap. Love ur stuff man. Rock on, baby. (I’m a GREG too, btw. 😂).
I'm 54 and currently dealing with a torn meniscus brought on by years of wear and tear in the weight room. It's humbling to be sure and appears surgery is in my near future...
Your inspiration, your motivation and your knowledge are unbelievably, thank you for all your videos, and what i like very much is your mature, reflected personality which is capable to preparere also very dificil themes like the process of getting older, the adaptation of training and the fight against the inner demons which many times don't want to accept this reality.
The tragic part here is the audience… in the 20’s it was discovered that catch wrestlers got their fights fixed by promoters. It took 60 years for it to be proven in court. But even after that most of the audience believed it to be real fights. Even to this day some people think wrestling fights are real fights. Most wrestlers are not even catch wrestlers anymore, most of them are entertainers. They even say that they follow scripts but the audience loves it. Today boxers can be 60 year old men that has smoked weed continuously for 30 years fighting 25 year old entertainers and people are screaming take my money… the world is lost….
I heard the result of this fight is Lebe Stark's fault. Mike Tyson came to Lebe for advice "How do you think I should train for the fight?" Bro, if you want to get in shape: think kettlebells! he said. "I should become spherical? All right, then" Mike replied.

@@MarkJYule very true. I think probably he has some significant knee issues also. Hip and knee mobility definitely not good

Did you really expect a man at 58 man who abuses drugs to win?
When get old you need to work on movement as you get slow
Facts
Talk about current nonsense briefly. Then gets into the whole concept of kettlebell training for most of the the video! Yes yes, I love it.
Such a dumb fight imo. Congrats Jake Paul, you won against a elderly person whose last professional fight was when you were 7yo
Mike also uses recreational drugs. He is neither clean nor sober.
