- Blue racer snakes have survived for thousands of years, but now they are endangered. The only home left for them in Canada is on Pelee Island. In this video Ryan Wolfe, a master’s student at UofT, shares his passion for the racer and explains how these snakes can benefit humans. But now they are the ones that need our help. If you are a landowner, or just visiting the island there are things you can do to help preserve this species.

Thank you Ryan for raising awareness around this beautiful and gentle Blue Racer snake. May your work continue to inspire you and all of us.
I am impressed about how gently and carefully Grad Student Ryan handles the Blue Racers.
We have 80 acres in northern lower Michigan. We have blue racers all over our property. They are beautiful. We love watching Mother Nature. Great vid thanks!
We have a few also in Michigan but southern Michigan so far never had a problem with them
I also live in Michigan & we have them all over west Michigan as well! I had one chase me as a small child with a toad in its mouth! Such beautiful snakes. I hope people leave them alone because they mean no harm to anyone. Such beautiful reptiles.
