From Team Flatley: If you enjoyed this video, please help spread the word! We hope this special reunion performance of the Lord of the Dance 1996 OG Troupe brought a smile to your face!
Thank you so much for this, as I was a caregiver to several people with fading memories, and not having families that would care for them. I loved my time with them, both the good and bad days. Now I am 70+ and have my own challenges with memory. I hope when I need a caregiver I will be treated as well as I cared for my people.
Mate, we saw you and your team when you came to Auckland New Zealand all those years ago, it was astounding how magically good you all were. The Venues were jamb packed, Thank you----- Gib
This had me in tears, i feel like we all grew up together, i saw many shows live and watched videos/dvds regularly. everybody still looks beautiful and i can’t believe I remember all of your names. Hope everyone is safe through all of this. Thank you for putting a huge smile on all of our faces ❤️ “Forever in our hearts”
How inspiring to see the original cast again. After a medical injury that temporarily put me in a wheelchair, I am inspired to dance again, which I did as a child and I am now 58!!! God bless all of you! Great to see that some of their children have acquired that dancing gene! I pray that some of them carry that incredible talent into the future of Irish Dance. ❤❤❤
If it is one thing that is good that results from a pandemic, is that Lord of the Dance lives on and can be performed at home! Does not have to be limited to the confines of a world stage. Bravo to all these dancers! Wish I can tap like them!
This made my day. I still have the 1996 version on VHS. I was mesmerised as a child (34 now) and to see everyone, especially Gillian, Bernadette and Daire was pretty amazing. As michael said..... "One more time!?"
Out of all the styles I studied (ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, contemporary, and some ballroom) this was probably the most difficult, mostly because it’s such a different technique. I’m in my late 20’s now and it’s probably been about 6-7 years since I’ve consistently practiced any style and I could not do that without some serious practice and conditioning. People underestimate how demanding it is to maintain that speed while doing the fast footwork and trying not to fall on your a**. Kudos to everyone, that was amazing.
MY. CHILDHOOD. RIGHT. HERE. I’ve fallen in love with you all again 25 years later ❤️❤️❤️ my daughter is now the same age as I was when I discovered MF & LOTD, she too is now obsessed! Thank you so much ❤️
OMG a quarter of a century ago, these guys came to Auckland New Zealand, And they were "Sensational" another word would be "Astounding", we saw them Twice everybody talked about them for weeks", I still have the CD,, it was and still is ---Great
Once I saw this performance on DVD back in 96 or 97 I was hooked. I then saw Michael Flatley (LOD) in 2001 at MSG in NYC. One of the greatest live performances I've ever seen! This reunion piece was amazing. Everyone in the OG cast was truly spectacular bringing Michael's creation to life! The training, rehearsals, commitment & dedication by all really paid off for everyone involved. To this day I still talk about LOD! You should all be very proud of your accomplishments. Special shoutout to Gillian (always was my favorite!) BRAVO!
I was a teenager wen I first watched Lord of the dance, one of my favourite childhood dances, Gypsy was one of my favourite dancer's, I constantly watched Lord of the dance on a loop I wore out my VHS 📼 tape, wot a lovely tribute to the late great Mark Gilley ❤️.x
I'm in tears. I attended the show in HYDE Park in London while living in Mayfair. The Lord of the Dance Franchise was and is True entertainment! To see them with their precious babies and families is such a gift.
Everyone looks great after 25 years!! Bernadette and Gillian still look beautiful ❤️ Congratulations Bernadette on your baby Stay safe everyone! Social distancing, wear a mask and please get vaccinated!
What a lovely tribute to the front-liners, and what a generous gift to the rest of us! My jaws LITERALLY ache from grinning all the way through, and my eyes sting with tears. As we say in California, "You've still got it!" All of you. ALL of you.
I never get tired of watching any of the Riverdance videos from so many of there performances. Michael Flatley certainly created a legacy with his Riverdance we will always enjoy and remember
Every one of you, ever one, you are all the most important part of that great production. Without any of you, this wouldn't have been possible. Thank you for sharing your hearts, lives and dancing with us. Thank you for reviving this wonderful Lord of the Dance, some twenty-four years later. Thank you for allowing us into your homes and hearts. (Listen, this wasn't just a dance; it was that incredible entrance inoi the invisible, into the seldom seen by mortals; the magic of presentation, something all of us seldom get to witness. It burns a fire, a heat that touches and flames the hearts all so many who see it. Not a light thing to take for granted!), Thanks for the vid!
When this show first came out, there was no doom and gloom that surrounds us now. They shared their talent, their hearts, and their souls, to make a show that mesmerized, enchanted, and enthralled us from the opening notes where Helen Egan comes out, all the way through to the final stomp. We came, we watched, and we embraced. How then, some 20+ years later, when all these talented artists come together to reunite their love of dance for a global audience, can we not again, get entranced by the same magic that took hold of us the first time we heard and saw it? It is to bring a smile to me when I see some of their now family members, the young kids, watching mommy or daddy doing a jig, and all they can do is vaguely look up from their smart phones or hand held computers, roll their eyes, and figure " oh well, Mommy or Daddy is just doing a funny dance".....when back then, there wasn't the technology we have now, and entertainment was eclipsed by the talent up on that stage ( or DVD ). Thank you, each and every one of you, who once again brought your talents to a world blanketed in gloom and despair, and for just a mere few minutes, showed that we can see the good that's around us, coming from those who want to share their talents "one-more-time".......
I loved it the first time I saw this, it's still just as true today. Thank you for honoring us, the planet, the First Responders. I thank you! Love. Maria. My Mother's Father was Irish.
My mouth is in a HUGE smile...I LOVED THIS !!! The first cast has always held a big place in my heart...A BIG HUG sent out to all of you..This is so heart warming, grand and fun during this time. We needed this return of your talents so much !!! Thank you, thank you, thank you and thank you to all of the self sacrificing medical personnel who have inspired this.❤❤❤
my childhood! since the first time I saw the show y felt in love to the show and the precious world of dance, the celtic music and everything else. I studied for 8 years tap and was very greatful for me to have studied so amazing discipline. Thanks all of you for motivate me and discover that dance is equal to love.
Awwww the memories !!! I worked at the London Coliseum when you first came to London with this show .. id sneak in from working the bar to watch you everyday for a month ... it was magical
they're all Legends......... they probably dance in their sleep. it's awesome. I really really want to see this show Live...and in Ireland. Totally. It's such a great dance style, or sport....... wished I was put into classes when I was young. it looks like an unbelievable workout......wonder if they have over 40's classes for Learners, now that would be fun and entertaining trying to learn some basic steps.
So sweet to see all the dancers grown up and with their families. I saw the show in NYC and absolutely loved it! Michael, why must you torture us so? Come say hello! Show us that million dollar smile. You are THE Lord of the Dance, and we need to see you!
You gave me the night of my live back in the nineties!!!! I watched Lord of the dance on television new years eve!!! Thanks it was super !! Love you all ,greeting from the Netherlands 🇳🇱Lillian 🌹
Glad to say I was there, not specifically that one but the same troupe and michael flatley himself and ar wembley 23 year's ago, when I was just nineteen and my mum and I loved it.Was christmas present off my parents. Will never forget it esoecially when Michael burst on to his very first scene- the whoke place, atmosphere, roar from everybody was electrifying wow😍- thank you to tyem doing this it reignited the stunning music, dancing, beauty of the show including them dancer's, musicician's, just the whole perfection and essence of the amazing Lord Of The Dance.Flatley himself was sexy, a league of his own and a true showman and aaked nothing lews of his whole crew. What a night.
Why am i seeing this video just now... im literally crying my eyes out. This is amazing❤ From a very young age i used to always watch the hyde park dvd, its been over 20years and im still in love❤
This popped up on my somebody commented and of course I had to watch the video again. Love the old cast you were great and danced great now. Liked seeing kids expressions could almost hear a couple saying REALLY MOM OR DAD.. Loved it .THANKYOU.
I could not love this more!! I'm going nuts over this! Helen! Gillian Norris! Daire Nolan! Bernadette! And the rest. You all look INCREDIBLE! Thank you for the brilliant performance. Brought back such memories. Huge love and best wishes to you all as well as your beautiful families. It's sooooo good to see you!
i saw this production front row when it came out in 1997 at what was once called Arco Arena in Sacramento, CA. a lot of these dancers in this video i met personally face to face. Bernie is such a sweetheart, and Daire has to be one of the coolest and downright funniest dudes i have ever met. i know she was just the singer, but i wonder why Anne Buckley wasn't in this? i also got to meet and talk to Mairead Nesbitt. and the cool thing about her, she remembered my name and face when i met her again years later. but nothing compares to meeting Michael himself. i got to talk to him for like 20 minutes, and the best advice i ever got from a person came from him. He said "Work hard, follow your dreams. but most importantly, never let someone tell you that you can not achieve your dream. For when a person tells you this, you are that much closer to achieving it." And he told me to think on that during my drive home, and throughout the coming years. Really awesome guy. All these people are.
Splendido montaggio, entusiasmante vedere quei magnifici ragazzi che non hanno perso il sorriso e la grazia dei movimenti ! BRAVO a tutti Voi,indimenticabili nei nostri cuori !
OMG, I LOVED this so much! Thank you! All these Irish dancing gorgeous people who are still gorgeous and showed up in this video at a later time in their lives. This was a showcase of how wonderful performers who went on to live a continuously gorgeous life with their people. It's the most beautiful demonstration of youth and growing older gracefully that I've ever seen.
Made me cry. My grandmother first introduced me to Michael Flatley at the age of ten. I became obsessed with everything and even went to see one of the shows. I am now a 19 year old adult and I still watch it. God I wish I could go see one of the shows now.
Incredible to watch, still so much energy, amazingly done. Is it really 25 years, the talent has never left any of them. Certainly brightened my evening watching that. Thanks.
I am in tears. This touched my life when it was first performed and not that we are in lock down it is a bright spot in my day. God bless and keep all of you.
I'm not Irish or Scottish but I have a great affinity for the Celtic people. I'm Eastern European born and raised in the US and really appreciate different peoples, their cultures and the things of beauty that they produce. Be it music, dance, paintings and photographs, and all the other arts. I've always thought if we were all the same it would be very dull and I do not understand people who do not embrace the diversity. In fact that's the way we were made diverse. Very much like a flower garden with different flowers
I bought Lord of the Dance for my father he watched it millions of times. I'm pretty sure he just watched that with me too. Well done made my day. Thank you
It would actually be very fun, to create a one/off show of the original stage and costumes, and get the OG troupe to perform, 3 numbers, Cry of the celts, Lord of the dance, and Victory, and then inbetween have the new troupe do the other numbers. Would be A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!
Thank you Michael for sharing with the world the amazing way you changed what irish dancing was, and what it can be when you believe. Shows like Riverdance, Lord of the dance, and others have changed forever the way people have felt about irish dancing, and set the hearts of irish people everywhere around the world on fire with the extraordinary shows you have participated in. You have an amazing cast in lotd, and it amazes me the people in this video still know the routines they were in after so many years. Thanks for giving irish people such an amazing gift. God bless you and all the people at lotd
I've enjoyed the original show, with that original dancers, so so much...!!! Amazing!!! And they are still truly amazing nowadays...!!!! Oh God, Gillian Norris.... so beautiful and talented...!!!
Thank you to whoever pulled this together. Saw the original dancers in Sydney Australia. Best show I’ve ever seen by far. Everyone still looks amazing.
Thank you, thank you! What an amazing Covid dance party. Even more amazing is that you were able to get footage of everyone. Michael, I had the wonderful pleasure of seeing you and your awesome troupe in Boston, MA. years ago. I'll never forget it.
I have tears watching this. It's so inspiring and such a gift. Thank you so much for putting this together for all of us to enjoy. I am loving it. So fun to see you all in your regular lives. Amazing talent 👌
Yes -- he was my favorite in the show. Regrets that I never got to see him live and would have loved to have seen him play a hero part and really cut loose!
This video showcases the human spirit best examplified by these incredible trail-blazes. Their positive energy through their dancing has elevated my heart and soul as my tears are streaming down my face, struggling all the while to finish watching this momentus clip.
WOW!!!! This was sooo mych fun and up lifting to watch!!!!! Yall seriously need to get back together in person with Michael Flately and Mairead on Violin in person and do a reunion Anniversary show!!!!! 😊😊😊😊😊
I have been watching this video over and over and it makes me cry every time. I have been a life long fan. I was 15 when I bought tickets, for the show in Rotterdam, as a surprise present for my moms birthday. Being only 15 years old they cost me an absolute fortune. When we got to the arena it turned out to we had the worst seats in the venue haha. I didn't stop us from having the best night ever. I will never forget it. This video brings back so many happy memories, from watching the tape over and over, till it worn out completely and a new had to be bought. And of that one night of pure happiness of seeing them dance in the flesh. Thank you so much!
No matter many time I’ve watched this video it’s as if was the first. It’s such an enjoyable video brings me a big smile. So, great to see the then and afterwards of all the dancers. Beautifully done.
This is amazing! I was 13 when I first saw Lord of the Dance and have watched it many times over the years! To see so many familiar faces just made my day! Especially Gillian! (Gypsy is my fave 👌) 💜
Love this! Travelled to LA with my dance teacher to see it, just before the Oscar performance. Was in total awe of the few North American girls in the troupe. Being at major competitions with Kathleen & Mary Ann, then seeing them in this less than a year later - 🤯
5:22 Areleen Torres (Ni Bhaoill) was the dancer who was shown up close at the beginning of the tape of the original 1995 production of Riverdance. I sometimes wonder how her four sons reacted upon recognizing her for the first time in that close up.

Indeed! they've still got it!!
And always remember a saying my mom who was a dancer. That dance is poetry in motion
ZORAGARRIA🤩
I love how when there were children on the couch paying no attention whatsoever. Like, meh, seen one dance, seen em all .
"That's just mommy and daddy".
Or tackling a punching bag!
Yes that made me smile,
This made my day. Well done to all of you, still as talented as ever, ye were our heros too all those years ago! Keep dancing ❤
This had me in tears, i feel like we all grew up together, i saw many shows live and watched videos/dvds regularly. everybody still looks beautiful and i can’t believe I remember all of your names. How inspiring to see the original cast again. After a medical injury that temporarily put me in a wheelchair, I am inspired to dance again, which I did as a child and I am now 58!!! I love how the kids are like, "there goes mum and dad again." 🤣
AWESOME. Just wished we could've seen Michael!!!!!!
If it is one thing that is good that results from a pandemic, is that Lord of the Dance lives on and can be performed at home! Does not have to be limited to the confines of a world stage. Bravo to all these dancers! Wish I can tap like them!
I never imagined a dance could be choreographed for the internet! And all those dancers were in different places.

That is actually so nice to see people who have gone on and are not only living good lives but have expanded their experience and talents. Thank you.
Brilliant. And thanks to all the hardworking nurses and care staff in the HSE who look after patients with Alheimzers.
What a lovely tribute to the front-liners, and what a generous gift to the rest of us! My jaws LITERALLY ache from grinning all the way through, and my eyes sting with tears. As we say in California, "You've still got it!" All of you. ALL of you.

Would be A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!
I feel old. I feel sad. I am crying everytime I watch this. This is the one of best videos ever on UA-cam.
That was amazing...bored of the lockdown but not 'Bored of the Dance'!
It doesn't get any better than this! So much fun watching this video!
I've enjoyed the original show, with that original dancers, so so much...!!! Amazing!!! And they are still truly amazing nowadays...!!!! Oh God, Gillian Norris.... so beautiful and talented...!!!
Thank you so much, all of you! Takes my family back to a much happier and simpler time :)
What can I say...my heart is crying out for your dance to heal the world!
I have tears watching this. It's so inspiring and such a gift. Thank you so much for putting this together for all of us to enjoy. I am loving it. So fun to see you all in your regular lives. Amazing talent 👌
I remember watching lord of the dance when I was a kid in the 90s in South Africa on TV (must have been a VHS or something). This take me back!
OMG! Brilliant! Thank you! And Daire Nolan! WOW!
Yes -- he was my favorite in the show. Regrets that I never got to see him live and would have loved to have seen him play a hero part and really cut loose!
Saw the original dancers in Sheffield - you even managed to feature Helen Egan, Bernadette Flynn and Gillian Norris. For me, they made LOTD... WOW!!!
What a great idea!! Thanks to all of you and to the medical personnel !!
Gypsy was my favourite too ❤️.x
Love this! Travelled to LA with my dance teacher to see it, just before the Oscar performance. Was in total awe of the few North American girls in the troupe. Being at major competitions with Kathleen & Mary Ann, then seeing them in this less than a year later - 🤯
Brings back so many memories to when I was young. The original cast had something really special.
Very nice ❤️ 🤗 I love Lord of the dance. ❤️❤️❤️😘😘
Boy, this bought back some wonderful memories! As a nurse, I appreciate you and am amazed again at the talent shown. Thank you!😁🤩👏❤
5:22 Areleen Torres (Ni Bhaoill) was the dancer who was shown up close at the beginning of the tape of the original 1995 production of Riverdance. I sometimes wonder how her four sons reacted upon recognizing her for the first time in that close up.
To jest Po prostu SUPER SUPER SUPER SUPER 👍🍀🙃🍀🙂POZDRAWIAM ❤🙂🍀
