Had the pleasure of meeting Michael Flatley in the states during the Celtic Tiger Tour. When he was leaving the arena just a handful of Us were standing on the sidewalk waving goodbye to him and his limo stopped! Michael Flatley steps out of the vehicle greeted and chatted with us about the show, he was the nicest ever! we couldn't believe it! Michael signed our programs took pictures with us and he signed my Tribute to America Leather Jacket in silver pin! Thank You Michael for your kindness, the very best to You!

Wow,Michael ,amazing..yes those Celtic Tiger yrs,and then the Depression in the housing market, where beautifully restored mansions were sold off ...Seems a pity?...I bet in the future,it might be purchased by Fermoy co council, and might be listed in the World Heritage Centre..now wouldn't that be Great for the" Town I loved so well"?...Sorry a song just came to mind, lol
I’m so glad he bought this gorgeous place and restored it...very few could have pulled it off, but after all he’s done for Irish dance and Ireland herself, it’s fitting that he continued it by restoring a piece of her history as well. Some say he’s nothing but a raving egomaniac, but it’s simply not true. He has worked bloody hard to be as excellent as he is and was in this art form of dance. He is simply the best in the world, and it’s a well deserved title. There’s no doubt about it though - like so many, love has smoothed out the rougher edges in him. He’s even more appealing now at his age than he was when he exploded into the public eye 30+ years ago in Riverdance.
Well said Wendy. I often feel Michael Flatley, Jack Charlton and Micheal O'Leary (like him or not) did massive amounts to bring about the Celtic Tiger. I know it didn't end well but we are well into recovery now and things will never be the same as before the Tiger.

Wow, what a treasure, both the estate and Michael. Seems he has grown a lot over the years and become a true renaissance man and certainly a gentleman.
No one deserved success more than MICHAEL. He was a GREAT ARTIST. It appears he was and remained a GENTLEMAN all his life. I especially LOVED his reference to his "DAD" when he "quoted" him, asking for "A PINT", "Mike go get me a pint. But don't tell your Mom for God's sake." Very touching!

Beautifully done! Believe me if I lived in Ireland, within 3 weeks I’d be speaking with an accent! Lived in Chicago for over 30 years, Irish myself. Absolutely fabulous!
Michael Flatley employed generations of craftspeople and artisans in the restoration of Castle Hyde- deliberately making sure that specialist crafts survived and were handed on among craftspeople all over Ireland. Another of his significant contributions to the Arts in Ireland. Thank you Michael.

I just read an article saying that Flatley still owns Castlehyde; pulled it from the market, because in the end, he couldn't bear to be separated from it. He feels a strong connection to the area, to the history and memories that go with the house and the land. Can't blame him. Hope he and his family continue to enjoy it.

Michael brought world focus and wonder about the great Irish nation - of which I am a proud member - with dance music and drama, and great story telling woven into it. But when you look at the wonderful dancers who carry on the stage productions that Michael started, as great as they undoubtably are, they're not Michael. I raise a glass of the good stuff to ya my friend, and a wee snifter to follow. God love you and all who know you and love you...love and luck to you and family for the rest of your days.
Beautiful mansion filled with opulence, taste, authenticity and comfort. The hard work paid off, shame its not occupied often as its just a dream place to dream big.
@@Paulco67 Oh how I hope this is true. I lost the house I lived in with my parents ~ it's broken 💔 my heart. Hope he did keep this home where his Dad was last. 🙏
Michael certainly seems to be a man with great instinct, respect, and humility. Whatever he does - he does with passion and perfection. His is a great talent, that he loves to share with others, and many times, gives the credit back to God for many things, he realizes his blessings, and is truly a grateful man. Any time I have heard him speak, he has always been gracious, polite and dignified. Such a far cry from the uncouth swearing and hateful rhetoric out of too may "celebrities" nowadays. Michael - I have loved you from the beginning, and you still make my heart race while watching you perform your magic - you are truly the "Lord of the Dance". P.S. - You are still a HUNK!

Wonderful house and what a story of how Michael got it restored. A very passionate guy who has worked so hard to get to where he got to; and so humble too. A tough guy, but a soft one underneath who adores his family, his heritage and the story of his dad... pure respect fella!
Everybody celebrates Flatleys success because he has natural talent and worked incredibly hard to get there. He deserves it all.

But when you look at the wonderful dancers who carry on the stage productions that Michael started, as great as they undoubtably are, they're not Michael. It's his quiet confidence and vision and passion, and of course his amazing talent and skill that has enabled him to become the world renowned figiure he is. I raise a glass of the good stuff to ya my friend, and a wee snifter to follow. God love you and all who know you and love you...love and luck to you and family for the rest of your days.
Прекраснейший, гениальный артист и человек!!! Здоровья и долгих лет!!!
Beautiful restoration!
Beautiful mansion filled with opulence, taste, authenticity and comfort. The hard work paid off, shame its not occupied often as its just a dream place to dream big.
Kudos for this labor of love.
Ireland Has some BEAUTIFUL LAND JUST ALWAYS LOOK UNTOUCH. BEAUTIFUL
Sad to see Flatley sell,he restored the house tastefully and really engaged with the local community.
He took it off the market and is keeping it.
@@Paulco67 Oh how I hope this is true. I lost the house I lived in with my parents ~ it's broken 💔 my heart. Hope he did keep this home where his Dad was last. 🙏
Майкл, Ты Великолепен во Всём!
Низкий Поклон ТЕБЕ 💓💓💓
💚✌
How can you not fall in love with this beautiful place... it’s just so perfect in every way....
And : how can you not fall in love with him and his fabulous dancing !? Greetings from Germany ! 🇩🇪❤
What an amazing man to think so highly of his Dad that he would keep the house till his Dad passed. God bless you Michael!
Here is a man enjoying the extremely well deserved fruits of his labor. Wishing him a long, healthy and happy life in the company of his loved ones.
I dont think whoever buys this house will love it half as much as Michael and his family do, what a beautiful home owned by a besutiful person, u truly are a gentleman Michael and u deserve everything u have today because u worked so hard to get it, ur a beautiful soul and i wish u happiness and health for u and all ur family, God bless u from the bottom of my heart, 👍💖💞❤️
So true
What a noble attitude this man has. Bravo … God bless him!
Wonderful house and what a story of how Michael got it restored. A very passionate guy who has worked so hard to get to where he got to; and so humble too. A tough guy, but a soft one underneath who adores his family, his heritage and the story of his dad... pure respect fella!
What a lovley interveiw and tour.....such a shame he's not performing anymore.
I would just be in the Library!!
Reward for years of very hard work!
GOD bless you and bless your dad's soul..
Thank you Michael. Such a masterpiece. ❤️ Very tastefully done, very homey.
Beautiful home...glad he could afford to bring it back to it's former glory. God bless and enjoy it.
Our family has a picture of Castlehyde from my great-grandmothers time working as a maid sometime before emigrating to Canada right around 1900.
