This has been a fantastic survival series. Super intrigued by the mystery behind the powerlines. I also like the fact that not everyone they meet is a bloodthirsty thug. Excellent job with the backstory too of how the world fell apart. You guys deserve more subs and views for your efforts.
This was an Awesome and Amazing Video especially with the elderly man bringing harmony, joy and laughter during a difficult time. Loved this Video
Watched the first three in one night, love the old guy in the woods. How wonderful to have a friendly, helpful, benevolent character in movies like this for a change. Nice touch. Bring on chapter 4, 5, 6, and beyond!

Thank you…that monologue was written in December 2020 when things were looking grim with the pandemic and other real world events at the time.

It's hard to compete with vloggers and influencers lol...not nearly as many people are willing to sit down and watch a 25-minute short film that isn't based on an existing property/franchise! But thank you all the same for your nice words :)
It's even stranger about this it's actually starting to happen now think about this the Ukraine is filled with bio weapons by weapons that are meant for us people better get ready God save us all

Congratulations on a well done mini series. Very believable and nicely acted and filmed. Wouldn't have been out of place on Netflix.
Of all the Post-Apocalyptic films I have watched, this is by far one of the most touching. Superb. The acting Everyone is also very authentic.
Plus, no zombies, no face-mascks,no well groomed heads,actors all different, scavenging, fishing, hunting, not shooting on sight,and some hope for the future.....

Very well done all around. One of the best short film series. Each chapter the best short films. Great story, great acting. Setting and accompanying music all very good. Watching a second time to be sure I didn't miss anything.
It's amazing how clean everyone is, and how all their clothes are in such good shape.
Post-apocalyptic dry cleaners are actually making a killing in this story, but unfortunately we had to cut that whole subplot for time.
@@MapleFilms All I'm saying is a patch or two on an exterior garment, a sock with a hole, and/or a comment about needing new boots. Maybe a little dirt on their clothes, some mud on footwear and a little ways up the legs. Nights by fire to keep warm is smoky.
@@alcmantyrtaeus All good points, totally agree. But with a crew of only 4-5 people we've had to make some creative concessions and wardrobe was one of them. Thank you for the honest feedback, the next chapter will be a bit grungier :)
@@MapleFilms This is a common complaint I have about post apocalyptic films. People are too clean. Yes there would be times people would clean up, but outdoors in the wilderness for a prolonged period in the cold...

Excellent ending for this episode. It's nice to see it being done where not everyone they meet is a complete douchecanoe murdering stealing POS. I think those who do survive something like this would be more like this...especially us older guys.

Characters that viewers can be interested in. Not overdone eccentricity, as is too often seen.
Wondered why she didn't get better armament in the quest to to free her son - and now we learn it was, "turn in your means of self defense to be safer" and "inform on your neighbor."
Good fiction here - or perhaps believable prophecy of a nightmare future?
Good points to bring up....some of the best science-fiction stories have themes or topics that are grounded in a conceivable reality. Black Mirror and the Twilight Zone are some great examples.

So far enjoying the series and i am quite pleased the writers didn't include the stereotypical post-Apoc. genre tropes that are really worn out....going for viewing the next installments now...the team on this production did a great job...quite good enough for a streaming platform TV series (perhaps that's your objective?)
Watching this from Caracas Venezuela as a 'homework' assignment while resting from my work scouting locations with the locals for suitable scene filming sites for producing a possible tropical post-Apocalyptic adventure series....a story that is set here a few months after a worldwide economic collapse- Salutes!.
Thank you! We have tried to avoid some of those expected tropes and cliches of the genre. No zombies or monsters for example.
Good luck with your own project…if you are already in Venezuela, you should hop over to Puerto Rico and check out the ruined Arecibo Observatory. Would totally make for an awesome post apocalyptic backdrop.
Great my new friend! Just as you guys had already done, i am deliberately avoiding those laughable or unrealistic tropes in the script, i.e., the gas masks, the miraculously running shiny vehicles (stored gasoline degrades very fast, and spare parts/maintenance will be a nightmare, etc.) the bizarre costumes of wasteland warriors and other wacky stuff...they won't be useful or practical in real post-SHTF world conditions, even less in a warm climate tropical country.
Gotta say that you all have something special here! This series is fantastic! More compelling than anything coming from main stream media outlets.

So far really good. Only thing I don't understand is why in chapter 1 after downing the bad guys, didn't they take that perfectly good bow instead of leaving it behind? A weapon is a weapon and I would think pretty valuable in this story.
Great point, and probably something that would be changed if we could do it over again. You'll see a similar situation in Chapter Seven that is handled a bit better :)

@@MapleFilms if rain, then drinking water, if it is toxic, then it would contaminate the freshwater they did get from the lake in episode 1, was just curious.
@@ericarnaud7983 the rain isn't toxic so it wouldn't contaminate a freshwater source. The film doesn't explain how or why some sources of water are contaminated :)
On one side..this dystopian future is a bit too real with the face coverings for seemingly no reason, the water that is poisoned(biblical or nuclear?) And i question the influence. On the other hand..it maybe doesnt matter. Human intention gives rise to kinetic energy.

You should not carry your bow constantly strung like that at all times. It will stretch the string to the point of ruin within too short a time. I would bet none of them knows how to make a new string and you won’t find a store to buy one either.
I do not fully understand the American disdain of dog meat for food. I was in a different country for a while where it was not unusual to have different foods to eat that Americans think of as odd and even taboo. There was a specific breed of dog raised just for food.
Nice story, but not very convincing scenery. Such well maintained power right-of-ways. No trees/bushes in railroad tracks either. Nice rust free rails.
That's the difference having a few extra zeroes in the budget can make ;)
