I have replaced mine 5-6 times over 13 years, and the quality does vary from one manufacturer to another, but the brushes all make the electrical connection that makes the motor spin again.

You can try doing it like this, but you're better off detaching the wiring from the motor and getting the motor onto a bench. Fitting the new brushes is a fiddly enough job without having to do it in a confined space on the floor.

Any idea of the WFMC2201UC/13 washing machine? Mine just slowly spins sometimes, leaving me with a soaked load at the end of the cycle. Scratching my head here.

A bad brush(s) can cause that, but also: Not spinning at full speed can be a bearing on either the motor assembly or the drum itself. First UNPLUG, then if you disconnect the belt, you can try to spin the drum... it should be very very easy to spin. If the motor should also turn rather easily by hand. If both do spin easily, sorry to say it might be the electronic control which switches speeds on the motor... and it can't get "into high gear": electronics replacement most likely not cost effective. Bearings can be replaced, if you or someone you know has experience with auto repairs, etc.

How often you use machine?(I do brushes every 8-9 years but light use machine (60 -70 or so runs a year)
