- How to wire a Bosch WFG2020 washing machine motor directly to the mains. Also know as a suicide motor. This is an interesting motor, the first I have seen where solid brass conductors are used to link the brushes, tacho and windings to the connector block rather than cable. Here is how to identify which of the spade connectors goes where and how to wire the motor.

I have an identical motor, the yellow brush wires are actually connected to the middle pair of spade connectors. Your guess worked because you happened to avoid the tacho connections. Confusing the brush connections with the winding connections made no difference as the jumper simply connected the two and the incoming mains was connected across the combination of the two.
Thank you for informations.Nice job
No problem
Great job indeed... i did it tks to you
Really great and hopefull job
Many tks
Hi again: Roger here. The reason that I was wondering about a capacitor is that when I connect the motor to my household current the motor hums but does not start rotating until I start it by hand, then it will run. Thank you.
This is working well. Started up nicely but kept on picking up speed. Is there a way to control the speed? I want to use it as a disc sander
Hi there, check out my video, "washing machine motor wiring explained" it gives a method of speed control by voltage regulation. Thanks
Thanks for the informative video. Do you need a capacitor to start the motor? There is a capacitor in my washing machine
No. You don’t need a capacitor to start a universal motor.
@@bootsowen So start or run capacitor only required for an induction motor? The Bosch universal motor has a type of capacitor - suppression capacitor where the power cable goes into the washing machine (only used to remove voltage spikes?). Is that correct?
@@intestinalworm1202 yes: start or run capacitor only required for an induction motor. the suppression cap is for radio interference. I didn't know that that was related to voltage spikes, but then again, I don't know much about electronics!
Hello.! Is it ok if I use a 4000W (4kW) speed controller on the max setting for an Arçelik motor?
If it is a washing machine motor 4kw should be good.
@@bootsowen yes it’s a washing machine motor made by Arçelik
I have a motor out of an 11 year old Bosch washing machine. The motor is model J52BCM-0111. The p/n is 9000128518. I want to repurpose this motor and operate on 120 volt single phase household current. This motor connector has 5 wires to the cable connector, 2 red (tachometer), 1 white, 1 brown and 1 grey. I assume that I am going to require a start capacitor and motor protection of some sort. I would like to be able to install a forward/reverse switch as well. Can you tell me what additional parts I will need to accomplish this? Thank you. Roger
Hi Roger, If your motor looks like this: ua-cam.com/video/48J3w0eN6uI/v-deo.html then this is how you wire it and reverse direction. the voltage is irrelevant, but you will need a 120v regulator if you want a regulator. The fact that you have mentioned a capacitor suggests that you don't know much about these motors, which is ok, but be careful around electricity. Have a look at my "Washing machine motor wiring" playlist. let me know how you get on.
Hello from Greece. Bosch - 144797 Please which cables from this motor should I use to work at high speed? Thanks !!!!!!!!!!
Hi, have a look at my washing machine motor wiring playlist. or the how to wire a universal washing machine motor video.
Is the connection is same for connecting with DC supply?
Hi there, Maybe have a look at my washing machine universal motor wiring video.
Can a universal motor run on dc battery. Is the wiring (for AC) is same for DC?
Yes a washing machine universal motor can be run on DC, they are called universal because they can run on ac or dc. Wiring can't be the same because instead of line and neutral you have positive and negative. but the wires go in the same places. have a look at my other washing machine wiring videos.
ok nevermind
